Vex Spiders - A Desperate Job
A commission for the fantastic Femukki, she was seemingly so impressed that she joined the ranks of my subscribers!
Set in the spacefaring era of my Protean Earth universe, our story finds Kiki, a chiropteran mercenary, down on her luck and desperate for work. No stranger to sometimes using her own body as a way to get some money, she finds that even THAT is unavailable. Nearing the end of her finances, she's contacted by The Facility, who needs her help with procuring the main ingredient in a lifesaving drug that was once only available to the ultra-rich. What she finds out is necessary is perhaps a bit too much for her, and there's the lingering doubt that despite her friend Neiva sending them her way, that the enigmating Doctor Faren will double cross her somehow...
Obviously, this tale is not going to end well, and if you're afraid of spiders, this is PROBABLY not the story for you.
Lastly, though I have two active commissions I'm working on now (!!!), I am open for one more at my standard rates of $0.02/word. It would make a story this length approximately $160, though it was a bit longer than expected. As always, if you're a fan of the amazing Lusty Lamb (and if you're not, I encourage you to go follow her!) and you want artwork you've received from her adapted to a story, I offer a 25% discount as a sort of cross-promotion.

For Femukki
“Kiki, love, I know you’re a damn good merc. Nobody’s doubting that. Remember that day on Yevyn IV? You carried that job. I just don’t have anything for you. Hell, I know you’re willing to act as ah, companionship, if the situation demands it. But there’s nothing. Nada. Honestly, I’m kind of surprised. Things are pretty peaceful right now. But if I hear anything, I’ll have you in mind. Blowing kisses, Chatwin out.”
Kiki sighed despondently and deleted what was probably the twentieth message she’d received on her wrist-terminal. All of them had said much the same thing. The only possible work she’d been offered was something that the sender should have known would only piss her off, a job flying escort for a slaver ship.’
The bat detached the terminal from her wrist and tossed it despondently in the corner. For the first time in nearly a year she was actually in danger of being planet-bound, and that idea was one that filled her with dread. She’d found herself in the outer colonies, and the only planetary work she’d find would be hard labour. Maybe mining. With a snort of disgust she got up from the pilot’s seat of her skiff and headed for the bunk at the back.
“Can’t believe that there’s not even a cushy ‘companion’ job,” Kiki grumbled as she flopped down on her bunk in the back of her simple interstellar skiff. With her soft, many-hued purple fur that ranged from lavender to a deep and vibrant violet, she had a tendency to catch the eye. Add to that the slender and athletic physique that she prided herself on, she could easily get work as some executive’s arm candy for a night. One of her specialties was acting as a hidden sort of bodyguard. For some reason, nobody ever expected that the scantily-dressed and vapid-looking bat hanging on some old guy’s arm could fight.
As Kiki sat on her bunk, contemplating how she’d keep herself flying out amongst the stars, a chiming resounded through the small ship. Ears perking up in surprise, she stared toward the controls at the cockpit. Someone was trying to contact her ship directly on her personal channel. She could count the number of people with that information on her toes.
Intrigued, she got back up from her bunk and settled into the pilot’s seat, accepting the connection. She was surprised when a completely unfamiliar feline face looked back at her. Frowning, she asked, “Can I help you? And before that, maybe tell me how you got this channel? I don’t give it out to just anybody.”
The feline smiled warmly and nodded, “Ah yes. Kiki Fledermaus. Mercenary. Your information came to us through someone who did some… procurement work for our Facility. My name is Doctor Aloysius Faren. I have work for you, and we pay well. It’s just that it is… not pleasant work. We do much of it in secrecy.” His expression was hopeful, and she could detect no trace of deception in it, but some small part of her felt strangely worried.
“Procurement work,” Kiki said in a flat tone. It had to be Neiva that had given this Doctor Faren her personal information. Procurement was sometimes rather less-than-legal, and her friend loved that kind of work, especially when it involved stealing something and being gone long before anyone knew their belongings were missing. “I guess if she gave you my info, you’re at least somewhat on the level. I’m guessing this ‘Facility’ doesn’t exactly work within the bounds of the Colonies’ legal system? Or any of them, really?” Faren inclined his head to show she’d hit the mark, and she said, “If I didn’t need the work I’d be telling you to go shove yourself in a recycler, you know that?”
That smile returned, and Kiki realized that it wasn’t exactly warm. In fact, it was almost a leer. “Oh yes, we vetted you rather well. Quite the terrible string of luck you’ve had. Take a look at your current bank balance though. For simply considering this, we have delivered you enough funds to get you just about anywhere in the Colonies. You will also see a pending deposit that is contingent on you signing an NDA and agreeing to participate.”
Kiki pushed a few buttons and brought up her accounts, and her mouth dropped open in surprise. Whomever this Faren was, he was well connected. An anonymous transfer with enough money to have her living in luxury for at least a month had been deposited. Pending was another one for nearly thirty times that much. She could upgrade her skiff and so much more with that much money. “Okay. You have my attention. Where do we meet to discuss just what you want that is worth that much. If you hadn’t been sent by Neiva I’d be suspicious. But what the fuck. I’m desperate.”
“Very good. Coordinates are being sent. It should take you three days to reach the transfer point. See you soon, Miss Fledermaus.”
As the screen went blank, a set of co-ordinates were loaded into her navigation system. As she’d expected, they were in a lawless part of the galaxy where usually respectable companies tended to operate their less-than-ethical business. Trying to ignore the worry that was gnawing in her gut that this could be a rather big mistake, she engaged her stardrive and was on her way.
The trip had taken nearly two days, further straining Kiki’s already-thin resources. If this possible job didn’t pan out, she’d likely end up on one of the border worlds with barely enough funds to pay docking fees. There would be a very real chance of having her skiff impounded within a week, and that was if she was lucky. And so, she found herself sitting alone in a small but luxuriously-furnished office, on an unremarkable moon that orbited a gas giant in one of the myriad star systems that had only a string of numbers and letters for a name.
The whole process had been mystifying, really. The moment her stardrive had disengaged after half a dozen jumps, an automated computer system had demanded access to her auto navigation system. She’d been quite alarmed at first, but had forced herself to remember that Neiva had given her direct contact ID away to this Doctor Faren. She’d been recruited under similar mysterious circumstances before, and as much as she hadn’t liked it, she’d allowed access to the navigation system.
Kiki was inspecting a piece of art that was hanging on the wall, impressed by the fact that it seemed to be genuine, when the door to the office hissed open and Doctor Faren stepped in. “Ah, hello miss Fledermaus. I do apologize for all the trouble. We’ve installed a self-destructing virus on your skiff’s computer already. It will remove the records of your trip here. I promise you we have done this before. Please have a seat.” He indicated a comfortable-looking chair in front of his desk, also seemingly made of real wood, a rarity in all but the most affluent of colonies.
As she sat, thankful for the lack of arms on the chair, which always made her patagia uncomfortable, Kiki inspected the doctor. He seemed to be a feline of some sort, with strangely striped fur and large tufted ears. He appeared to be a lynx, but he didn’t have the large hand-paws or short tail that was typical of his breed. She wondered if his odd look was something deliberately taken on, or a genuine proteus aberration.
Faren turned on his terminal and typed out something, commenting, “Hundreds of years now, and keyboards are still much the same aren’t they, even if what we’re using is much more advanced. Anyway. Neiva said you were a reliable type. You don’t pry and you don’t ask too many questions. And that you are… willing to do some rather explicit things for a paycheque.”
Kiki snorted loudly at the doctor’s statement. It was certainly quite true, though not quite so clinical. She usually really enjoyed companionship work, especially with the more exotic types. She leaned forward, ears swiveled toward the feline curiously. “Alright, Doctor. I’ve dealt with extreme security before, but you and yours have been more concerned about your location and the nature of your work than any potential client. None of them have installed something like that on my ship without my permission.” She tried her hardest to keep the icy tone from creeping into her voice at that, reminding herself that she needed work.
“Yes yes. I know,” Faren said almost dismissively, then steepled his hands and stared at her for a while. “I don’t think an NDA is necessary to tell you what we do here. When you sign the contract, that would be included anyway. So, you really want to know why all the secrecy? It’s because we have one of the most valuable medical commodities in the galaxy being produced from what we do here. Have you heard of E-BOL? Extended Breath of Life?”
Kiki’s breath caught and her eyes went wide at the doctor’s question. She whistled in admiration at that. E-BOL was a drug that, up until the last decade, had been a prohibitively expensive life-saving medication that could somehow keep the brain of a trauma victim alive almost indefinitely. With enough of it, some had survived injuries long thought irrevocably fatal. The only problem had been that it was so expensive that her entire pay for this potential job would have only paid for a single dose. It was an intervention for the super-rich.
In the last five years though, an upstart medical company had declared that it had found a way to synthesize the drug. Though still pricey, it was now being used in hospitals galaxy-wide. She’d actually accepted a job once from the original manufacturer of E-BOL to try and find who it was, presumably so they could put an end to the competition. If what the doctor was implying was true, she’d just found the source, and wanted her help.
“Now you really have my attention, Doc. You just gave me at least two new reasons to take the job. Piss off a corporation that tried to stiff me after I couldn’t find you, and help get that shit to even the poorest little puppy off the street? What do you need?”
Faren nodded, “Your efforts to find us almost had you successful you know. So, at this point, I will need you to sign the NDA at the very least. What we have to tell you is part of our secret.” He tapped a few buttons on his terminal and sent it to Kiki’s. As she read it over, the feline began to prepare another document.
As the bat scanned the document, she saw it as a standard corporate NDA, though there was an air of threat to it that she couldn’t quite place. It wasn’t until the end of the file that she paused. Her voice dubious, she asked, “Memory suppression? I don’t like telepaths rooting around in my brain. Is that necessary?”
Faren nodded, “Yes, Miss Fledermaus. there are some things we must do. Most of it related with identity. The identities of the staff and our experiments and procedures are a very closely held secret. Just think of the pay you’ll be getting. Now, we are on a clock here, so I will ask you. Sign or not?”
With a sigh, Kiki tapped the correct buttons, confirmed with a retinal scan and then sat back in the chair, staring at Dr Faren. “There. Done. Tell me more.” When the feline stared at her with wide and surprised eyes, she asked, “What? In for a penny and all that. I’ll do whatever it is. Neiva wouldn’t have recommended me if you were slavers or doing shit to kids.”
“But you, you took the job without knowing any more. Including a clause that says you will not be permitted to abandon the contract without all assets being seized.” He looked completely flummoxed by her willingness to sign the entire contract without even knowing what she would be expected to do. But slowly, that surprised faded and he smiled.
“Vex Spiders,” Faren said simply, “Are the source of E-BOL Their venom, when distilled and processed and some of its other properties removed can be used to sustain the brain while the rest of the body dies.”
Kiki leaned forward, “And you… you’ve found a way to synthesize it? Jesus, they’re all but extinct. Not a fucking surprise that you want this a secret. Those things completely wiped out unprepared colonies. Get a few neonates on a cargo ship and they can hide till the next stop and spread there. One of the few things all the major powers agreed on, the extermination.”
Faren grinned and steepled his fingers, “No, it can’t be synthesized. It resists synthesis. We harvest the venom directly from the spiders. What we’ve been trying to do is breed them in a safe environment.”
The bat went completely still, and stared at the feline with a horrified expression on her face, “You’re trying to breed them. Knowing how they propagate? No, fuck no. I… what the actual fuck, Doctor.” She tensed herself, getting ready to spring at the feline, wondering what the hell was going on that Neiva would have recommended this. Vex spiders, when they didn’t just kill and eat their prey, filled them with their eggs, which hatched and consumed them from within.
“Please, Miss Fledermaus, keep listening. I’ll tell you what you need to do, it won’t hurt anyone, I promise,” Faren said, a little bit of panic colouring his tone. In one single shift of position, the bat in front of him now looked like a viper ready to strike in an instant. “Just a few more moments!” Kiki glared at him, but finally nodded and gestured for him to continue. “We found that artificial… ah, incubators wouldn’t work. Something was odd. Then, given our Facility’s nature, we had the thought to recruit a volunteer who was desperate for some money. Your friend Neiva worked. We had her go into the enclosure, get the spiders to attack and fill her with their brood. We allowed them to gestate for a few hours, then subdued the spiders and went in and rescued her. The harvest was a success. She was paid, we asked if there’s anyone she could recommend. Your name came up. She implied you’d done a few breeding experiments before.”
Kiki felt her cheeks flush and she began to stammer. Those particular jobs had been completely unique, involving some dragonfly-like bugs that she’d carried to term. The six weeks had been a frenzy of fucking for her. Other experiences hadn’t been as ‘fun’. Still, she decided, the doctor, and Neiva was right. “So… what do you need me to do?”
“We have facility space to hold ten thousand of the things. What we need is for you to go in, get filled and we harvest. It will not be pleasant for you. Your body will start to die from the venom and suffocation, but you will be sustained. Get impregnated, rescued, healed up in our medical facilities then do it again. You’ll be contracted for fifteen broods. Now, despite having signed the contract, we’ll allow you to withdraw if you don’t want to do this. We will be employing memory erasure from the point you began speaking with me, no matter what. We’re in unsecured space, after all. We could do that regardless of your preference.”
The whole while Kiki had begun to relax, but when the doctor was finished, she couldn’t help but feel worried that something would go wrong. Still, Neiva had thought this was a professional enough operation that she’d trusted them to make a recommendation. And a good one at that, she had to admit with another flush. She couldn’t quite call it a fetish, but she had a fascination with creatures that used other animals for breeding. And the thought of being wrapped up in a cocoon, unable to move, helpless and alone, that had her mound getting warm and damp. “Oh fuck it. I’m in. Fifteen? Guess I know why you’re paying so much.”
Dr Faren grinned toothily and said, “Delightful. I can’t wait to see it. You’re a lovely woman, and… I have to admit that seeing your whole body will be… a treat. Now, shall we?” He held out a hand for Kiki to shake. When that was done, he led her out and deeper into the Facility.
Dr Faren didn’t waste much time getting her ready, insisting that they should started as soon as possible. She had been given a cursory tour of the complex, including seeing some of the enclosures. In one, she had seen a sight she’d never thought she would… a full grown celosan. In another, a strange looking snail bigger than her. In one, there was a woman with a massive abdomen that pulsed and squirmed. The other doctor, Vincent by name, had been in the process of fucking her while in the enclosure, a breathing mask over his muzzle.
The vex enclosure was dark and cave-like, and she hadn’t been able to see very much at all, a glimpse of a few glittering forms. There were two in the temporary enclosure, apparently, both ready to lay. He’d reassured her that no matter what, she would be kept safe, but that hadn’t mattered to her. It would be quite unique to experience something that would normally herald a very unpleasant demise.
The next morning, after sleeping in a bare cell just a few metres away from the enclosure’s airlock, she’d stripped down and made her way in as had been discussed. All business, the doctor had examined her and attached an implant to the base of her skull that would monitor vitals and record her experiences. And then it had been time...
Kiki shivered as she stood in the airlock for the spiders’ enclosure, flicking her long tongue out across her lips. Despite, and maybe because of the danger of the arachnids that were just on the other side of the door, she couldn’t help but feel some excitement at the idea of what she was about to do. She was about to step out, naked and unprotected, into a vex spider’s nest, something nobody had ever done and survived. Well, nobody but her friend Neiva.
She tried not to think of the people who had died because of the invasive spiders, reminding herself that the venom they held was the source of of the most potent life-sustaining drugs in the universe. How could she not, though. If something went wrong, she’d be helpless to stop the process that would start the moment she fell into their webbing.
She tried to imagine what she looked like on the cameras she knew were observing her every move. Arms at her sides, her soft purple patagia bunched up against her rib cage. Ears twitching and swiveling in every direction, belying how nervous she really was. Her chest rising and falling in rapid breaths above a belly that would soon be lumpy with a deadly payload of eggs. Her mound with soft fur around it the same colour as her chest and belly, already a little damp with excitement. And lastly, her expressive tapered tail, curling and twitching, another sign of her nervousness.
“Miss Fledermaus, is everything alright? Are you ready? Please ensure that the scanner is active,” came Faren’s voice through one of the speakers by a camera. She stuck out her tongue at the camera and blew him a raspberry. Reaching up to where the small metal device had been plastered against her head in a tiny shaved patch, she tapped the button once. There was a beep and everything in the room suddenly seemed to pulse and glow for a moment. “Ah, good, connection is clear and stable. I’m getting clear data. You may proceed.”
Kiki blew another raspberry and stepped up to the door that led into the spiders’ enclosure. “Jesus, I’m really going to do this,” she whispered and pressed the button to open the hatch. The display flashed <NO PROTECTIVE GEAR PRESENT, ACTION BLOCKED>. “Doctor Faren, could you override that?” she asked impatiently. She understood the need for security, though, remembering the stories of last time a colony had endured a vex spider infestation. After a few moments, the display turned green and the door hissed open.
The bat was hit with a blast of warm, humid air, and she winced as her ears popped. The pressure in the room was significantly higher than the rest of the facility, it seemed. “Dammit, you could have warned me about that, Faren,” she muttered. Already her ears detected a soft skittering sound from somewhere within the dimly lit chamber. Closing her eyes, she took a step forward into the enclosure. Immediately her bare feet touched solid, bare rock.
The chamber was dim, though she knew that the cameras still could see every single nook and cranny and would easily be able to record everything that happened to her. In the corner of her eye, she noticed some movement that came along with that skittering sound. She felt her inner walls clench at the sound and cursed herself for getting even a little excited at the danger she was in.
There was a web only a few metres away from her, the sticky strands glistening in the dim light. She knew what the spiders were waiting for, what they wanted. Faren had assured her that the spiders were ready with a clutch, but there was still that nagging fear that they might want her for their own food. There was more skittering, this time closer to where she stood, and she let out the tiniest little whimper. Safety was behind her, but before she could even consider retreating into the airlock room, the door hissed shut and the lock engaged. “Oh god…” she whispered. She was trapped in the vex spiders’ enclosure.
She took a few steps toward the web, hugging herself in the process. “Doctor Faren? You’re recording?” she asked, voice trembling just a tiny bit. When there was no response, she felt a flash of worry, but then remembered that he’d said there would be no communication once the chamber was sealed.
Despite all the assurances that the feline had given her that she would be safe in the end, it took all of Kiki’s will to step forward, closer to the web. She could hear more sounds of movement as she did, but when she tried to look directly where the sounds had come from, there was nothing to be seen. The spiders were definitely aware of her, waiting for her to get herself stuck in their webbing.
All she had to do is take a few more steps and she’d be close enough to touch the web. She closed the distance toward the silky, sticky strands, then closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. Turning around, she steeled herself before she spread her legs slightly and held her arms at her sides, then simply fell back against the webbing. At the very least, she decided, she’d catch herself in a position that was somewhat comfortable.
Her shoulders hit the web first, pressing against the sticky strands with her whole weight. The substance that coated the thick strands soaked into her fur and stuck fast, stronger than any synthetic glue she’d encountered. Her lower back touched next and was similarly stuck. Finally, her tail was mashed against her right leg as it and her left leg were trapped against the web. She could feel the loose flesh of her patagia pressed against the web as well, a deeply uncomfortable feeling. She struggled and squirmed and jerked, deliberately trying to get as much of her body stuck against the web as she could.
The moment she was certain that she was completely trapped, the spiders seemingly were certain as well, for the enclosure exploded into motion. It was then that she got her first real good look at one of the spiders as it approached, eight spindly, chitinous legs almost gliding along the strands of webbing that stretched out in the dimness.
The sight was something that touched on an instinctive fear, an ingrained reaction to the presence of the huge creature. She felt a shiver run through her body as she inspected the creature, taking in a sight that very few ever had been privy to and survived. It was huge, its bulk easily as large as her own torso, with a head the size of her own. Every inch of it was covered in glossy black chitin, and Kiki could only think that it looked like a huge black widow without the distinctive hourglass markings. Eight small eyes stared at her, glowing faintly, just enough to light up its alien face. There was nothing in it that was recognizable as intelligent, nothing at all that the trapped bat could comprehend. It peered at her, inspecting her, moving its body and inclining its head.
Kiki’s heart beat faster, the instinctive fear filling her as she tried her hardest not to thrash in the web. There was a sound behind her, and she felt the web move as another one of the spiders began to climb on her back. The feeling of those sharp-ended legs touching her back, digging in uncomfortably, was enough to make her lose her composure and start struggling again. The moment she did, the spider in front of her sprang into motion, charging at her and clambering up her front. “Oh… oh fuck…” she whispered as that horrifying face stood inches from hers. It was too much for her to bear, and she screamed as fangs flashed and bit into her shoulder, with a second pair hitting the back of her neck. Legs gripped her tightly, squeezing and holding her as she thrashed and jerked helplessly.
She’d expected the venom of the vex spiders to feel like fire in her veins, but it was more like a gentle warmth that spread from each bite. In seconds, the warmth had spread throughout her entire body, and soon after it she found a strange sort of calm settle over her mind. Her thrashing and jerking slowed, her body not responding to the commands her brain had first given it. When the warmth hit her mound, she groaned. She could feel her cunt growing slick with unwilling arousal and her labia becoming engorged and puffy, as if she were directly in the middle of a heat.
In the grip of the two spiders’ legs, the helpless bat felt her twitching and jerking slowly subside. Her mouth hung open, and much to her embarrassment, a line of drool hung from her lips. She’d have laughed if she could that drool would be the thing that caused her some small amount of humiliation; she was about to have spiders fill her with eggs while someone watched and recorded, after all! How would the spiders do it, how would it feel, she wondered.
The spider that hung in front of Kiki started to skitter around her, quickly darting behind her. Behind it, she saw a line of thick and sticky silk. That silk was quickly pulled around her and drawn tight by its hind legs. Soon the second spider had joined the first and had begun to methodically wrap strands of the stuff across her torso, tight against her breasts but much looser below her rib cage. She couldn’t believe this was happening, that she’d willingly agreed to let this be done to her, and she kept having to remind herself that the plan was to harvest the eggs after a day within her.
Strand after strand of the webbing was wrapped around Kiki and pulled tight to fasten her firmly to the web, until very little of her luxurious purple fur was visible above her waist and below her neck. It felt strange to have her arms pinned so tightly against her, mashing the leathery patagia between her. Strange, and much more exciting than she would have cared to admit. Not all the dripping arousal that left a trail of damp fur was from the venom that kept her unable to do more than breathe, and even that was laborious.
As soon as they were done with their prey’s torso, the spiders began their work on repositioning her. She watched as those sharp-tipped legs cut at webbing and pulled her legs up and out, baring that dripping wetness even more. She felt one leg and then the other pressed back against the webbing and sealed there, new strands of their silk pinning them there. Her legs were unbound from the knee down, but it wouldn’t have mattered anyway. Even when she tried as hard as she could, she could barely make her toes curl and twitch. She let out a surprised and mildly terrified gurgle when they did the same for her head. Rigid chitinous limbs pried open her mouth with surprising levels of dexterity, stringing tiny threads around her jaws to keep her mouth forced open.
All the while, Kiki had to keep reminding herself that this wasn’t happening in the wild. That she was being observed, every single moment recorded so that when it was time, she would be rescued from the enclosure and the eggs harvested. She was doing something that would get her an insane amount of money, and saving lives in the process. All the same, terror and doubt crept into her thoughts, leaving her heart beating faster and faster.
Finally, the process seemed to be finished, and Kiki hung in the web, much of her body covered in glistening, sticky silk. Her mouth hung forced open, her tongue hanging out of her mouth lewdly, little drops of drool falling from it. Her mound was on open display, visible to all the cameras, giving Faren and whomever else was watching of labia that had been spread wide enough to reveal the lip of her passage within.
The two spiders stopped moving and looked at their prey with those unreadable sets of eyes, mandibles twitching. In unison, they surged into action, apparently satisfied with their handiwork. The first skittered forward, its head just under her chin and its abdomen hiding her mound from sight. The second of the two did the same, skittering behind the web and hanging off of it, and her. Oh my god, it’s about to happen. Holy shit.
The fact that, had she been out in the wild, this would be the herald of a terribly agonizing death was not lost on Kiki. There was a disturbingly wet slurping sound from somewhere near her pelvis, and she felt a splash of warm liquid hit her bared sex and then another across her right rump-cheek. The spiders both used their legs to probe and explore, the hard tips digging into her skin with enough force to make a pained squeal spill from her lips. Once they found their marks, the legs dug in so they were framing both of her lower holes. In unison, the two spiders pressed their abdomens forward, and Kiki felt two slippery appendages starting to press into her.
The bat had no idea what the ovipostors looked like, but they didn’t feel huge like some of the ones she’d encountered in the past. The first to penetrate her spread the inner walls of her sex effortlessly, wriggling and squirming and probing. Kiki let out a low moan of pleasure, unable to deny how much she’d been wanting to feel something like this long before she’d even taken the job. The mixture of fear and sexual stimulation was intense, and when she felt the other ovipostor pry open the tight muscle under her tail she felt her whole body shudder. God… this would kill me… I shouldn’t be liking this so much, she thought to herself.
The probing of the ovipostor in her vagina stopped suddenly, and she cried out in pain when it shoved forward, invading a space that was not used to being penetrated. There was an unsettling squirming in a much deeper place within her. The ovipostor buried there stopped moving while she felt the one under her tail pushing deeper into her, a dull ache starting when it probed into places she’d rarely felt touched.
There was warmth within her womb that started to grow into an itching sort of heat as a splash of fluid preceded the next step of the spiders’ terrible purpose. With her head held tight by the webbing, she couldn’t see the first egg, but she certainly felt it. It stretched her passage open, the deadly payload pushing deeper into her. She gasped as the ovipostor under her tail began to stretch her uncomfortably wide for a moment. She moaned, but that was interrupted by the sharp stretch as the first egg spread her cervix. Oh my fucking god, I’m getting spider eggs laid in me and it’s making me want more and the doctor’s going to know it because he’s recording all of this!
She felt a weight inside her, a sense that there was something in there that shouldn’t be, but by then another of the eggs was pressing past the lip of her vagina and traveling along the length of the arachnid’s ovipostor. She felt more stretching behind her, and knew that another was pressing under her tail. The second egg swelled along its path, making a low, pleased groan come from her open mouth as it pressed against the sweet spot within quite firmly before passing deeper.
By the fifth egg, Kiki was twitching again, her body making the sort of involuntary motions that weren’t controlled by conscious thoughts. She didn’t want to reach her climax from this, she didn’t want Faren to know just how much she was actually enjoying this process when the danger of it had been taken away, but when that fifth egg pressed deep, she let out another wordless cry and felt her cunt clench and ripple along the length of the alien length within her. Part of her wondered, then, if the spider felt it and enjoyed the motions of her body.
Egg after egg was pressed into her, both under tail and into her womb, until it started to ache. She wondered when they would stop. She began to whimper as she felt the ache grow deeper and started to throb. She’d lost count of the eggs when they started to come faster, but she felt heaviness in her belly that told her there had to be at least a dozen. Still, they kept coming, and soon she was starting to regret her choice to let Faren put her through this. At least her bowel had more volume, and that hadn’t started to hurt much at all.
The pained whimpers became low howls as the ache intensified, and for a while, she thought that she would just split open from the pressure, but the spider in front of her seemed to know that it had reached a point just below the point where she would rupture. The heavy mass of eggs in her womb had stretched her normally-taut belly, and though Kiki couldn’t see it, she knew it had to look lumpy and round. The spider’s ovipostor pulled out, and she breathed a sigh of relief. Suddenly the two legs that had framed her mound pressed into her sex and pulled it open so it was gaping. Something heavy, wet and sticky was shot into her. Upon coming in contact with her skin it hardened and expanded, almost like epoxy, leaving her cunt stretched uncomfortably.
Finished with its job, the spider pulled away from her, while the one with its ovipostor under her tail continued to deliver more and more eggs. There was, of course, a great deal more room to leave them there, she knew. Suddenly, the spider in front of her spun itself around and she was presented with the spider’s abdomen. It was then that she got her first look at the creature’s ovipostor as it remained outside the spider’s body. It was, like every other part of the arachnid, completely black, and dripped with a sludgy, slippery ichor that had been mixed with the fluids of her pleasure. She couldn’t see the hole in the tip very well, but for an instant she got one good look before the spider’s back legs held both of her cheeks, keeping her head from moving even an inch. She let out a horrified scream as she really understood what was going to happen.
The ovipostor shoved into her already pried-open muzzle, and her scream was cut off to become a gurgle as the slick organ shoved into her throat. The taste of that black ichor was foul and sharp, made somehow worse by the taste of her own excitement upon it. It dripped little spatters of the ichor on her tongue as it forced its way deep, making her want to retch but entirely unable to. A panicked part of her mind wondered how she’d survive the impregnation, given that her womb had taken far longer to fill than she had breath to give. She couldn’t even squeal or cry out as she felt the spider behind her deliver two fresh bites to her neck. Two painful stabs of fire against her thigh told her that spider had also delivered its own doses. Of course, she thought, it doesn’t need me to breathe.
As this fresh dose of venom washed through her body, she could feel the throbbing, painful ache in her womb grow more intense and sharp. She realized then that the venom actually enhanced your ability to feel. She was more aware of everything around her, could feel every single hair follicle on her body, could feel the thick plug that stretched her cunt. The places where legs had dug into her skin and scraped were fiery tears now. And the taste and feel of that ovipostor shoving into her gullet was agonizing, making her want to buck and writhe.
Her eyes widened when she saw the bulge in the ovipostor begin to travel down the length of the spider’s slimy organ, but she couldn’t do a thing. Her heart was hammering in her chest, and she knew she wouldn’t enjoy any more of this in the least. Fucking good money. Fucking good cause, she reminded herself. The sensation of the egg hitting the back of her throat and stopping was unlike anything she’d ever felt. The pressure of the flexing organ was incredible, and finally the ovoid shape was forced down her gullet. It hurt, far worse than she’d have ever thought it would, made worse by the venom seeming to enhance what she felt while keeping her limp and helpless.
It took almost fifteen seconds of flexing and pulsing before the egg hit her stomach, and by that point she could see another egg starting to travel down the ovipostor. Her eyes started to fill with tears, and she felt the need to take a breath growing in her, despite the knowledge that the venom would keep her from suffocating.
All the while, egg after egg was filling her bowel, one after the other stretching her anus. That, at least, didn’t hurt anymore, but that was no consolation. She could feel a deep and desperate soreness deep inside her as her bowel was packed full of more of the spider’s deadly spawn, forced deeper by the mass before it.
The throbbing pain, the ache of her stretched womb, and the rising need to breathe kept her heart beating faster and faster. Faren had warned her so very clearly that this would be an ordeal, that her body would likely begin to die from the process of the implantation of the spiders’ brood, but all the same she was regretting agreeing to this job.
The process went on, with heavier and heavier weight felt inside her, until finally, when she felt her insides might burst, she felt the ovipostor slip out of her rear and the spider’s legs pull her anus open. A new glob of the sealant was shot there and it quickly hardened into a plug that left the ring of muscle held painfully wide. That really wasn’t what concerned her, though, because her stomach was similarly stretched, feeling like she’d overeaten, and she still felt like she had to breathe.
After five agonizing minutes, the spider that was filling her stomach tugged the ovipostor out. Instinct made her gulp in air, but before she got more than a single breath, another glob of the sealant was shoved into her throat, expanding and hardening, cutting off all breath. She wanted to scream, wanted to beg for Faren to come collect the eggs, but she couldn’t even do that. She realized that, for the three to four hours that the doctor had said he needed for the eggs to gestate before rescuing her, she’d be trapped, desperate to breathe and unable to, the venom the only thing that kept her from truly dying.
The two spiders wasted no time as soon as their prey had been filled. Her legs were cut free of the webbing and savagely tugged up more, pressing against her massively distended abdomen from the sides, her feet almost up against her shoulders in a stretch that even she found was too much for her. And then, they began to lay tight threads of their silk across her, skittering around her with incredible speed. In all her pain and discomfort and instinctive fear, she wondered how she must look, her body slowly being hidden behind layers of webbing. The cocoon was tight and restrictive and would have prevented her from any movement at all, even if she wasn’t paralyzed.
Inch by inch, she felt herself sealed away in the cocoon, her tail left poking out the bottom, and when they reached her neck, she steeled herself for what was to come. As layers of webbing reached her chin, she could only whimper and gurgle quietly. And then, mercifully, her sight was taken away from her. She felt two more bites sink into her neck through her cocoon, and a torrent of the vex spider venom was delivered into her. It was more than her heart could handle, and she felt a stabbing, agonizing pain that moved to her jaw and down her arm… and she couldn’t feel her heart hammering against her rib cage anymore. She knew what that meant, knew that if her brain and nervous system hadn’t been flooded with the undiluted venom, she would have died right then.
It was a terrifying, shocking feeling, to know her heart wasn’t beating, but she was still conscious and very much alive. Every little cut, every scrape, the throbbing ache of the mass of eggs in her body, it all grew into sharper focus. Three hours would be too long, and she began to count the seconds until she was rescued. And she would have to endure this fourteen more times.
How long had it been since she’d been left in the web by the spiders? How long had she been held in that cocoon, unable to move or breathe, alert and awake and very aware of the absence of her heartbeat? When was the doctor going to come for her? Was he coming for her? She soon had her answer.
The change was subtle, the new sensation so utterly foreign that at first, Kiki didn’t know what it was. But then the strange feeling was joined by another. And another. And another. She understood in that moment that Faren wasn’t going to rescue her. He never had intended to. She’d been lured into a trap from which she wouldn’t survive. The eggs inside her were hatching.
It didn’t take long at all before there was a wriggling, squirming sensation all over. And this whole time, she knew that Faren was likely recording every single sensation she was experiencing. Had he even been telling any truths to her? Or was this some sick perverted thing he’d devised?
As if in response to her question, a voice boomed in the room as the squirming inside her grew more frenzied. It was loud enough that, even with her ears full of silk and plastered to her skull, she could hear it clearly. “Understand, Miss Fledermaus, that I am sorry for this. But the need is so great. The harvest we took from your mouse friend was inadequate. Then I understood. They feed on psychic energy, too. The energy produced by pain and fear. It is what makes them grow. They need the screaming pain of a sentient mind to feel every single moment as they’re consumed from within. That is why they cannot be artificially bred. And so I truly am sorry. Goodbye.”
Kiki was dumbfounded, completely and utterly. The only comfort was that her friend had not betrayed her. But it was only a tiny comfort, and when she felt the first stab of pain deep inside her as the first hatchling began to feast, she knew there was no hope. No chance she’d escape from this. One after another, new stabs of pain were felt as the brood began to gorge itself. Her mind screamed out the agony of being consumed from within, gnawing and tearing and slashing. It was unendurable, unfathomable, an exquisite agony from which she could not escape.
Time had no meaning, really, but it was mere minutes before she felt that every scrap of flesh below her neck had been consumed. Where pain had been was only nothingness, but still the frenzy of feasting hatchlings had not finished. It was only when she felt a pressure at the back of her skull where the implant was that she was enveloped in complete nothingness and a sense of pure terror that consumed everything she was…
Kiki woke with a shriek that went on for minutes, terror and the memory of pain overtaking all her conscious thought. She writhed and fought and struck out with her hands and feet and teeth, screaming over and over until her throat was raw. Panting and gasping, she stared at the shredded remains of her bed sheets in the small room she’d been given as the terror faded, the memory of the nightmare fading, for that’s what it must have been.
The door to her room hissed open, and she saw Doctor Faren rush in, a horrified look on his face. “Miss Fledermaus, are you alright? I was attending to another volunteer, the other doctor’s daughter, actually, and was too far away to get to you.” His eyes reflected concern and worry. “Do you wish to cancel your job? I was going to wake you when I was done. You go into the spider enclosure in one hour.”
Kiki stared at the feline with wide eyes, working her jaw with no sound coming out. The dream had been so vivid, so powerful, that she couldn’t believe it hadn’t been real. “N-no, I ah, no, that’s fine. I… I just need a moment. I guess my mind is way too focused on it. It’s frightening. Maybe I’m not as excited as I was last night. I’m good though.”
“Excellent. Just wonderful. I must thank you again. You are most accommodating, Miss Fledermaus. Come down the hall and to your right when you’re ready.” Before Kiki knew it, he’d withdrawn from the small room.
Kiki sighed and stood, leaving the shredded bedding behind her, following immediately behind the feline. There was no use dwelling on the terrifying dream, which was already almost completely gone from her mind. Fifteen minutes later, she was stepping through the airlock door of the enclosure, trying to use bravado to disguise the nagging fear that something was wrong.
As the door hissed shut behind her, sealing her in with the spiders, something on the floor caught her eye. It hadn’t been there the night before, she was certain of it. She approached it, trying to figure out what it was. It was long and thin and was a shade of purple identical to her own fur. The blood in her veins turned to ice when she understood what it was.
Laying on the floor, the tip gnawed off from where it had dropped from her cocoon, was her tail.
Faren’s voice boomed into the enclosure. “Fifteen broods, Miss Fledermaus. That was the contract. Let’s start the second one.”
Kiki screamed, and the spiders struck.
Epilogue
An alarm was blaring, loud and piercing, settling in and making Kiki snarl in frustration. She blinked her eyes and let out a low groan. She’d been having another nightmare, but for some reason, she had been masturbating in her sleep. “God dammit,” she grumbled and looked around her cockpit, then released the restraint bands from her pilot’s seat. With a gesture, she turned on all the displays and began a status check.
“Great, cargo is good,” she murmured. What had been the alarm, then? She furrowed her brow and let out a sigh. It had turned off the moment she’d released her restraints. Why she’d been sleeping in her seat, she had no idea. She only slept there when she had to smuggle someone out of a nasty situation and they had taken her bunk.
She stood up and stretched, then turned one of the displays to ‘reflective’, and inspected herself. She looked better than she ever had, if that was possible. There was just something about her that seemed off, but she couldn’t place it, but since everything seemed to be in place, she just figured it was a remnant of that weird nightmare.
She stepped from the cockpit and into her cabin, and then back into the small cargo hold. She furrowed her brow as she looked at the crates upon crates of medication. All of it was the cheap E-BOL that had been loaded onto her ship. KoraMed was going to be so pissed that she had all this shit. Her next few weeks was to be spent delivering the E-BOL to border colonies and almost a thousandth of the price that the product had cost just last year. That was something to be proud of.
What she saw next made her blood run to ice, and she let out a shriek before pulling out her blaster and firing a shot. With a yell, she ran out of the cargo hold, heart racing and laid against the wall. “What … the fuck?” she said to herself. She’d never had that sort of panicked reaction to something like that before.
She heard a chime on her hand terminal, and she opened it to see a message from the same account that had contacted her. Opening it, she let out a gasp. It was confirmation of payment for two months of work. “Two months? What the fuck?” she said to herself. She remembered getting to the doctor’s office… what was his name? And then the next day she’d been loading the E-BOL onto her ship. It was obvious they’d been so concerned with their security she couldn’t even know what she’d been doing for those two months.
Again she thought to what she’d seen in the cargo hold and destroyed in a blind panic.
Why the hell had she reacted like that to a simple brown spider?
