The Fan - Part One
(Author's Disclaimer: This story is based on actual events that happened to the author. A lot of it is purely fiction, but the inspiration was real.)
She had been waiting her entire life for this day. Nothing was going to get in the way of this being the best day and night of her life and she would go to any length to make sure of this. Two hours went by just searching for the right clothes to wear, and even then she was still not sure of herself. But she had a feeling that she would remember this night for the rest of her still-young life, and for that reason alone, everything had to be perfect as she clutched the ticket close to her heart like it was a golden ticket required to enter heaven. Suddenly, there was a knock on her door and she let out a growl despite the fact that it was her mother wanting her attention.
"Luna!" she barked out. The girl was not too pleased.
"What, mother?!? Can't you see I'm getting ready for the concert tonight?!?" was the answer she got. But Luna's mother opened the door and intruded her space, holding out the telephone for her daughter.
"Phone for you. . .it's Elise." A sigh of relief came from the young vixen as she swished her tail gently back and forth, calming down a little bit. Though it wasn't enough to keep Luna from chasing her mother out of her room, shutting and locking it when she was out.
Luna sighed as she flumped onto her bed. She was a young fox. . .a vixen covered in rusty red fur with white going from her muzzle all the way down her chest and ending at the union of her legs to the rest of her body. And even though she was desirable, she was very untypical for one of her kind. For one, she was taller than most as she stood just a hair or two under six feet tall. And most of that height came from her long, slender yet well-toned legs that accented her wide hips perfectly. At age eighteen, that spelled a lot of trouble for Luna as she had reached the age in which males would look out for her even more because her first heat would soon arrive. Her waist was just right for a girl of her size and her breasts were humbly sized for a vixen, which are known for their obscenely large busts, coming only to a C-cup but still enough to be a good handful for someone who was lucky enough to get their paws on them. A patch of red fur in the shape of a crescent adorned her stomach, giving the appearance of a moon on her and thus the reason she was given the name of Luna.
But what set Luna apart from those of her kind was her demeanor. In a world full of promiscuous, arrogant, even downright spiteful foxes, she remained humble while still being very outgoing. Most would look at her like there was something wrong, but a smile and a giggle would set them straight before she said hello to them. Luna attributes that to the way she was raised. . .both of her parents lived in the manner of stereotypical foxes when they were young. When they met, they found out that there was more to life and settled down.
Nothing mattered much to Luna as she raised the phone to one of her ears, the other swiveling around to pick up any other sounds that might be in the area.
"Hey, what's up?" she said in her typical cheerful voice to her best friend, a lioness named Elise.
"Oh. . .nothing much Luna. . .just getting ready for the show tonight. I figured you'd be ready to go before noon since this is Silverclaw we're talking about." Luna squealed at the very mention of the name of Silverclaw, which was her favorite musical group. Posters of the band adorned her walls, which were painted a light rose color to compliment the cream white carpeting.
"I can't wait, this is gonna be so much fun Elise! I've always wanted to see them and every time I tried to get tickets, they've been sold out. . .oh my gods!" There was a pause before Luna spoke again. "So who else is gonna be there?"
"Well. . ." said Elise, ". . .Cody told me that three other bands are gonna be there and. . ." The lioness was cut off again by another loud squeal.
"Cody's going too?!?" Luna was referring to another fox named Cody that she had a crush on. They all went to school together and were close friends to begin with as Elise continued.
"I think so. . .but he's not coming with us. He's going with a few of his friends but he said he'll try and hook up with us. Lexa and Brindy are gonna be going with us. As for the other bands, he mentioned Kunwa and Saur Loser but I forgot the name of the fourth band." Luna let a soft 'hmmm' as she had only vaguely heard of the bands that her friend had mentioned and let her know that. Elise sighed as she thought of a way to ask her again. "Okay, back up," she said, "Have you ever heard of Kunwa?" The vixen scritched the underside of her muzzle, the black "gloves" that came up to the midpoint of her forearms matching the rest of her form perfectly. "Umm. . .I think so, though I didn't really like the song they played on the radio by them." Oblivious to her, Elise nodded her head and rubbed her head as well.
"Okay. . .what about Saur Loser?" Luna perked up a little bit.
"Yeah. . .aren't they the all-reptile band?" asked Luna. Elise told her that it was indeed true. "Thought so. . .I like them too. I hear that the iguana in that band is sooooo fine." The lioness giggled a bit, trying to stifle a playful growl and succeeding.
"I thought he was gay but he likes girls too apparently. I also heard that their drummer has even more piercings than Lexa." Elise started to say something but Luna was quick to jump at an opportunity to poke fun at her friend.
"Hah, that's hard to believe! She's pierced everything there is to be pierced. . .brow, nose, tongue, tail, nipples, navel. . .not to mention there's about five rings in each of her ears. And I've also heard that she got her labia pierced as well. . .I feel sorry for any poor male that hooks up with her!" They both giggled and took turns making fun of Lexa as well as each other, exchanging obscenities and rude names while continuing to laugh and growl in a nonthreatening manner before Elise figured out what to say next.
"One of Cody's friends knows the club we're going to like the back of his paw, so I was kinda hoping we could sneak around and get autographs after the show. I'm sure you'd like to get to know some of the guys in the band as much as I do." Luna was in disbelief. Not only was she going to see her all-time favorite band, but she was going to get the chance to actually meet them personally. She tried to open her mouth to say something but the words didn't come out. Words could not do justice for the thoughts running through her head as she hurriedly got rid of Elise to further prepare herself for the evening ahead.
Luna started to brush the fur on her tail as she closed her eyes and dreamily thought of actually meeting the lead singer of Silverclaw, a white tiger that went by the name of Korbin Rasmun. Like most teenage girls her age, she has had many visions of Korbin propped nude over her, ready to make her his own and instantly she gasped. Overcome by lust, Luna took off the short black leather miniskirt that kept her modesty, exposing herself as she got up to retrieve the towel that she had used to dry off after showering. Laying it on the bed, she flopped back down in nothing but a white spaghetti strap top that simply said "Don't Mess With This" and spread her legs apart, a paw snaking down her stomach to rub the mound that lie between her legs. She let out a soft sigh as her hand contacted the soft, sensitive flesh, circling her vaginal slit slowly, enjoying the feelings. When she was comfortable with the position she was in and the pace being set, Luna relaxed and closed her eyes as a soft moan escaped her lips.
She continued to slowly stimulate herself for what seemed to be an eternity in the young vixen's mind, soon stroking herself a little quicker as her breathing became more shallow. Sensing the urgency, Luna slipped her other paw down to her thigh, keeping it ready for when she needed it as her thumb touched the engorged nub. She moaned out loud, moving her entire hand up to paw her clitoris while a finger on her other hand moved up to tease the moisture-laden flesh of her folds, the claw tickling the hypersensitive lips. It was enough to cause Luna to shudder, thrusting her hips upward while moaning loudly, her peak coming suddenly as a small stream of the young vixen's nectar seeped out of her and onto her thighs. Her eyes lidded to the point where they were nearly shut and started to twitch lightly, the feelings of pleasure consuming her entire body for that short-lived moment.
As quickly as it came over her, Luna's orgasm faded just as quickly, leaving her to lie on her bed and pant in an effort to catch her breath again. She did have enough sense to wipe off the liquid off of herself before putting on her skirt again, knowing that her mother would probably have a fit if she could detect the scent of her arousal on her. Pacing about her room, Luna decided to head downstairs to see if there was something that she could have to eat before the show. Luna's family lived in a modest two-story home with three bedrooms. . .one for her parents, one for her little sister Akula, who was thirteen, and of course Luna's room. The kits' rooms were each upstairs along with the bathroom that they shared while the master bedroom was downstairs with a master bathroom inside as well. A little half-bath was at the foot of the stairs leading up to the bedrooms, the stairs themselves at the end of a short hallway that led out into the family room and kitchen with another hall that led to the master bedroom at the opposite end of the room. The front door was on one side while the doorway into the kitchen was at the other, which is where Luna stepped in, running into her mother who was making supper. She took one look at her daughter and frowned.
"You're not going to the concert in that, are you Luna?" she growled softly. Luna nodded much to her dismay. "I just hope you don't get any. . .unwanted attention. . .that's all."
"But Mom, it's at the Nook and it gets hotter than all hell in there, especially now that it's the middle of the summer!" protested Luna as she opened the refrigerator door, "And besides, Cody and his friends are gonna be there, so nobody's gonna mess around with me, I promise." Luna's mother growled when she turned to see her snooping through the refrigerator, scolding her for not waiting for supper. All she did was take out a bottle of orange soda and set it on a counter so she could retrieve a glass to pour it into. The older vixen let out a soft "oh" and went back to chopping vegetables for a stir-fry as Luna poured herself a glass of pop and took a seat at the table.
They talked about the night ahead of them, with Luna's mother reminding her of what she should do in various situations. It was nothing out of the ordinary, only basic safety precautions in case something was to happen to her, but the young vixen hated it, even going as far as to growl out loud. But her mother understood and told her that she was only doing it for her own good. Looking down, Luna's mother growled herself and cursed as the stir-fry she was making was done. . .and not a moment too soon as Luna's father stepped in the door, announcing his arrival loudly while swishing his tail back and forth. Both mother and daughter made their way over to where he was and threw their arms around him. The hugs were short as they went into the kitchen to the dining table where the elder vixen had portions of her creation already doled out along with a glass of milk for each one.
However, it took only one look at Luna for her father to start growling at her in disapproval.
"You are not going out like that," he said matter-of-factly.
Luna banged her paw on the table hard after swallowing the food in her mouth.
"I can go out however I want to!" She was emphatic in getting her point out as she told him of the venue and the fact that her friends would be present, but that wasn't enough to persuade him.
"That doesn't matter. . .no daughter of mine will go out looking like a. . .a. . .a tramp!" At that, Luna's mother gasped and folded her arms into her chest.
"Kevas, I cannot believe you would call our Luna a tramp because of what she is wearing!" she barked, throwing her arms up for added effect, "You heard it from her. . .it's hot, it's going to be crowded in there, and her friends are going to be there. I trust Cody with her and. . ."
". . .What. . .Cody. . .Caletta, I cannot believe this. . .you're actually condoning this kind of behavior?!? She's still young! She doesn't know any better!" An argument broke out between Kevas and Caletta as Luna continued to eat and stare at her parents fighting over her, jumping back and yelping when Kevas banged his fist on the table. After she had finished a little more than three-quarters of her plate, Luna threw up her arms and left, with her parents still arguing over her appearance. She ran up to her room and slammed the door, then went to find her phone to call her friend Lexa, who was a skunk and one of her best friends.
Luckily for her, she answered the phone right away and after a brief exchange of greetings, Luna got right to her point.
"I can't believe it!" she howled, "My father had the nerve to call me a tramp. A fucking tramp! All because of what I was wearing." The mephit listened, then made a shushing noise to try and calm her down.
"Okay, okay. . .calm down, girl," said Lexa, "first off, what are you wearing?"
"Y'know that "Don't Mess With This" top I got last week? Well I'm wearing that with my leather skirt and. . ." Immediately, Lexa went into a bit of a rage.
"Your dad called you a tramp because of that?!?" she huffed, "I think that's fucked up! You'd look cute. . .which skirt are you wearing again?"
"The black leather miniskirt."
"By the name of the Goddess, Luna, you'd knock the socks off of every boy that wasn't a flamer! Fuck him and wear it! I wanna see you in it. . .knowing me, I'd probably want to. . ." At that point, Luna had no choice but to cut in.
"Save it, Lexa. . .I don't wanna know." She quickly changed the topic. "So who's coming to get us?" Lexa had to think about it but she told her that it would be Brindy, the lupine in the circle of friends. Luna acknowledged that and told her that she would call her. They exchanged goodbyes after a few minutes and told one another that they would see each other soon before hanging up. The vixen sighed before punching up the numbers to Brindy's house, waiting for an answer. And waiting. And waiting some more. Giving up, she hung up and dialed the number to her cell phone and waited. This time, she didn't have to wait any longer as she heard the familiar howling hello of her friend Brindy. Giggling, she said hello back in an obviously less dramatic fashion.
"So. . .what's your twenty, Brind?" she asked. The wolfess was quick to point it out.
"I've just picked up Elise and am pulling out of her driveway," Brindy told her. That was just what Luna wanted to hear as she flumped onto her bed again.
"Good. . .can you come and get me next? My dad's wigging over what I'm wearing. . .it's just that top I got at the mall last week with my leather miniskirt." A sharp gasp came from Brindy as the vulpine pointed out what she was clothed in.
"You mean the black one?" Luna gave her sort of a light rumbling sound. "And the short one that only comes down to the top of your thighs?" She gave her the same sound. "And no panties?!?" The response was automatic. "Ooooooooooh. . .Luna! Cody's gonna flip when he sees you in that! Not to mention every hot boy in the club!" Luna giggled as she asked when she would be there, which was in about five minutes.
"Good," said Luna, "It'll give me just enough time to straighten out any exposed fur on me. So I'll see ya then?"
"Yeah. . .you ready to lose yourself?"
"You'd better believe it. . .by the name of the Mother Goddess!"
"Save your enthusiasm for when Silverclaw gets on stage, okay you? Goodbye." Brindy hung up, leaving Luna to prepare herself for the show. She meticulously brushed the fur on her midriff as well as the fur that ran down her long, smooth legs. Lacking "hair" on the top of her head, she brushed the fur on her head, making sure that it was nice and neat before she heard a knock on her bedroom door.
"Luna! Your friends are here!" It was Caletta, her mother. Luna opened the door and gave her a kiss on the cheek as she raced downstairs. "Have fun at the concert!" She made it downstairs and was about to head out the door when Kevas looked up from watching the six o'clock news.
"You will be home by eleven, and that's an order, young lady," he growled. It was enough to get a gasp from the young vixen as she stormed over to where he was sitting.
"The band I wanna see doesn't even go on until eleven, so you
might as well buy back my ticket! If you'll buy back my ticket, I won't go." A smile came on his face as he looked over his daughter.
"All right. . .if it'll keep you from going. . ." he said as he reached for his wallet. Kevas opened it up and pulled out a fifty-dollar bill, but just as he did, Luna took it from him and gave him a kiss on the muzzle.
"Thanks Daddy. . .love ya!" she replied and ran out the door, slamming it shut behind her.
Brindy was waiting for her in the driveway with Elise in the back seat, legs stretched out on the seat as Luna opened up the door to the front passenger side and jumped in. The car itself was nothing special. . .just a silver four-door sedan that had been through many thousands of miles in its short life. A wide grin was on the young vixen's face as Brindy pulled out of the driveway. . .just as Kevas opened the door to yell at her for taking the money and running.
"So what is your psychopathic father howling about now, Luna?" asked Elise. When she told her what she did, they all burst into laughter. "You sly little fox, you! I can't believe you did that! My father understood a little bit and told me to call him when the show was over."
"Lucky you," Luna replied, "at least your father isn't a hardass like mine is. He freaked when he saw what I was wearing. . .and I mean, freaked. He even called me a tramp. . ." She was interrupted by a series of growls from her other friends and comments like "I can't believe that!" or "How dare he call you that!" and sorts. Soon, they were talking about how evil Kevas was while listening to their favorite radio station, WLFV, or "The Wolf" as it was known as. It was at the frequency of 104.5 on the FM side and played modern rock along with some alternative rock as well. The conversation continued until the DJ mentioned the concert they were going to.
". . .and for those lucky enough to be going to the Nook tonight for the big show featuring Silverclaw and Saur Loser, look for the Wolf Pack as they will be out in force, giving you chances to win Wolf gear and other stuff, including CD's and concert tickets and signing you up for all the hottest contests out there. Who else can hook you up but the Wolf, baby? All right. . ." The girls shrieked upon the mentioning of Silverclaw, then the conversation swung from how much of a prick Kevas was to how hot Korbin Rasmun was, with Elise going as far as to put a paw to the crotch of her shorts and start rubbing it, moaning out, "Oh Korbin. . .Korbin! Ohhhhh. . .take me harder. . .yes Korbin. . .ohhhh!!!" and then finishing with a roar as Luna turned to swat her on the muzzle. Even with as much as she drooled over the tiger, she knew Elise had it out even more for him as she was of a feline race as well.
Soon, they pulled up to the house that Lexa lived in and waited, with Luna honking the horn once. Brindy growled playfully at the vixen before Lexa came out, her piercings gleaming in the late afternoon sun as she climbed into the back seat. Once underway, Luna turned to Brindy and grinned a wicked grin.
"Oh boy Brind, let the orgy begin!" she said with a giggle, but drew a growl from Elise. The driver remained indifferent as she announced that the Nook would be their next destination as a popular song by Silverclaw called "Now is My Time" started to play. Instantly, a simultaneous squeal came from the girls as Brindy and Luna reached for the volume dial on the radio to turn it up. Both of the front windows were rolled down as they started singing along, getting a couple fellow concert-goers to honk and flash hand signs at them before they took off again just as the chorus came up.
"Now is my time to shine!" the girls bellowed out in time to the radio, "Only for you will I step down. . .again. . .All of my days gone by. . .and all the crying was worth it, cause now I've got you. . .and now is my time!" Then it went into a hard guitar rhythm as a squeal could be heard over the excessively loud music before the girls continued to sing along, lustily dreaming of the voice that they heard to be at their side before the song ran out nearly three and a half minutes after it started. Quickly turning the radio down, Brindy sighed and clutched her heart with one hand while maintaining a firm grip on the wheel.
"What I would give to be with him. . ."she said in a husky tone.
"Yeah, but you should've seen Elise pawing herself," Luna added as she turned to Lexa. Then she started to taunt the lioness. "Oh Korbin. . .oooooh. . .make me yours, Korbin!" Her efforts got her a paw to the muzzle and a growl from Elise as Lexa giggled, the skunkette squirming about in the back seat next to Elise as she folded her arms over her chest, ears folding back to try and block out the annoyance. They continued to taunt and poke fun at each other for the entire thirty minute ride to the Nook, which was a club that was popular with fans of good rock and roll.
The Nook was just like any typical nightclub. As soon as you walked in the door, the security guard frisked you for weapons before letting you pass through and into the club. Once inside, there was a good-sized area for purchasing souvenirs and for radio stations to set up and broadcast right there on the spot. To the left was a small corridor, which housed the restrooms and at the end of that stretch was another door that led into a hallway. Even though it was deemed off-limits to clubgoers, it was a popular place for couples to sneak off to for a round of carnal engagements, especially at the opposite end of the hall which was near the stage.
Once onto the main floor, it was dark except for the stage lights at the very front. The floor was two-tiered, with the upper tier extending out close to two hundred-fifty feet. A short flight of stairs took you down onto the floor, which extended about another fifty feet to the stage itself. Emergency exits were at the very front on each side as well as in the middle of the upper tier on each side as well. There was an area in the very back for patrons to sit and rest as well as a bar that sold drinks, although at a slightly inflated price which annoyed many club patrons. The official club capacity was listed at three thousand, although thirty-five hundred were able to cram into the club to see the popular punk band Annoyance a couple years prior to that night.
Brindy got to the club and squealed upon the sight of the billboard at the door, which read "The Nook welcomes the Don't Turn Your Back Tour - featuring Silverclaw." Underneath that it read, "WSG Saur Loser - Kunwa - Cubberness" and below that it had the date and time. The wolfess looked at that and growled, then she growled at the line and the fact that most of the front lots were already full. They were a little late as they wanted to see all the bands. But Luna could care less as they finally found an open lot with Brindy growling again, this time over the ten-dollar parking fee. They all got out of the car and were jumpy and squealing in joy as they had finally reached their destination.
The walk took them a little while and once inside, they could hear the first band performing as they gathered around to discuss a strategy to get to the very front of the floor. As they were debating on what to do, they heard a sharp voice, ears perking and swiveling to pick up the sound. They realized that it was directed at them, but couldn't quite pick out the source. Luna looked around a little bit and was about to give the group an idea when the voice was heard again, this time the direction was a little clearer.
"Hey. . .Luna!" it shouted again, the tone suggesting a young male in his early twenties. The vixen turned and immediately clutched her heart, for it was Cody, her beloved friend and hopefully for her, future mate. She let out an excited yip and rushed him, throwing her arms around the todd and wagging her tail frantically while Cody buried his muzzle into her neck. "I thought you guys would never make it." Cody looked to be just another typical male fox. . .a little bit over six feet tall and weighing in the one hundred-eighty to two hundred pound range. . .nothing too special. But he meant the world to Luna as she glared over at Brindy while telling them of the traffic jam they were in. Soon, Cody joined the girls and they were off to the main floor to search for a suitable spot to stand and watch the bands as they performed.
Just as they stepped out of the light, the first band of the night, a mostly ursine band called Cubberness, finished their set and the main floor and the stage lights came on so that the techs could move in and prepare for the next band. Cody then realized something and stepped back into the light, pulling the girls back in.
"I just remembered something!" he said in a loud voice, "Rakura and Wesley are in the lower section. . .follow me!" But then two of the girls protested and wanted something to drink and so they got in line at the bar. When they got there, all they wanted was large colas while Cody opted for a rum and cola. They paid the bartender, who quickly got them their drinks as they headed back toward the main floor, following Cody as he led them toward where his friends were, slithering through the masses like a snake stalking a mouse, waiting to strike.
They got to the lower floor as the sound checks were being performed, with Cody continuing to knife through the crowd. During the whole time, he never let go of Luna's hand as he spotted a panther and dragon standing relatively close to the stage. . .about fifteen feet away.
"There they are," he announced as Rakura, the dragon, spotted the gang and wing-waved to them.
"Hey, Code-man. . .ladies," said Rakura, who was a bit of a mottled green color except for his chest, which was a light gold, "glad y'all could show up. I think Kunwa's next up."
"Yeah," replied Wesley, the midnight-black panther, "though I kinda liked Cubberness a little." Cody turned and looked at the feline a little awkwardly.
"They were all right, but they're not the best," he said before turning to the girls. "If you want to hear Cubberness, download a couple songs called "Every Single Time" and "I'm Not". . .those were the best songs in my opinion." Rakura glared, then growled.
"No, you fucking idiot! "Say Nothing" was the best song by them, hands down!" Wesley nodded in agreement before Cody threw his arms up in the air, having been defeated again.
It wasn't that much longer before the lights dimmed again and the crowd went into a frenzy as Kunwa took the stage. A guitar riff marked their arrival as red lights flickered above them, enough to make out that the lead singer and bassist were raccoons before going into their first song, an adrenaline-charged track entitled "Activate." It was another four minutes later that it ended and the singer addressed the throng that had gathered.
"For those that don't know. . .we are Kunwa, and we've come to rock your world. Sapphire Bay, lemme fuckin' hear ya!!!" The venue itself was located in a town near an inlet of a large lake called Sapphire Bay, though the gang was from a nearby town call Frescata. Still, they screamed and whistled like everyone else before Kunwa continued on with their set. For close to thirty minutes, they had the place jumping to their best songs, which included their singles "Far and Beyond" and "Rise" as well as a song that wasn't on their self-titled debut called "Finding My Path." During that time, Elise was lifted up and floated through the mass, the smile on her face evident as she enjoyed her first venture into crowd surfing. She was able to have another shot at it as she was passed through the crowd before she ended up back at Rakura's side again.
When the set was over, they all made their way to the restrooms while Lexa and Wesley stayed behind to save their spot on the floor. After they were done in there, Luna made her way over to the souvenir table and purchased a black Silverclaw T-shirt that had a picture of the band's emblem, which was four sparkling silver claws sinking into it from the inside with each one gleaming as if it was flawlessly shined with the stylized name "Silverclaw" above it, while on the back it read in the same script "Don't Turn Your Back On Me." Luna thought about putting the shirt on but decided against it as she was already sweltering hot in what she was wearing.
They had time to spare when they got back to where Lexa and Wesley were standing, and so they discussed, among other things, why Kevas was so hard on Luna, the plans they had for the future and what they were going to do after the show as well as the following week. Elise was about to tell the group about how she wanted to mate with a lion she had an eye for when the lights went out again and a whistling breeze echoed throughout the building as the members of Saur Loser took their positions. Dim green lights started to fade back on as smoke sprayed up from machines planted under the stage, creating a steamy fog effect. Luna could make out the shape of the iguana guitarist easily as well as that of a dinosaur. . .a raptor to be exact. But what really grabbed her attention is when the lights came on and she got her first good look at the frontman. . .a crocodile. . .her jaw dropped as he started to speak in a deep, yet slightly raised voice.
"What's up, Sapphire Bay!" he bellowed out, "Are you ready to experience the rampage?" Everyone started screaming and throwing up their hands as the croc smiled. "All right, then let's get this fuckin' show on the road here. . .the first one we're gonna do is called So Wasted. . .So Used, so I wanna see everybody get the fuck up for this one!" The iguana kicked out the opening riff while Luna continued to drool over the crocodilian, who happened to be standing right in front of her as he started to sing: "Sunrise brings another start. . .to me it means one thing. . .how much more pain can it bring. . .to me? So feed me more of your lies, I haven't quite had my fill. . .do unto me what you will. . .again. . ."
When the chorus hit, everybody started to jump and Cody, who was the biggest of the Saur Loser fans, was no exception. The girls didn't get into it as much as they were busy talking about the large reptiles that were gracing their presence.
"You were right, Elise," said Luna, "the iguana's a cutie!"
"Sure, but I would give anything to be with that fine ass alligator up there!" Lexa squealed. Brindy, ever the analytical one, gazed up at him and scritched the underside of her muzzle.
"I don't think he's a gator, Lexa," she told her, "Look at how his muzzle tapers off at the nose. . ."
"You're right, Brind," replied Elise, "he's a crocodile. Specifically a Nile crocodile. . .us lions know a Nile croc when we see one." But Luna and Lexa didn't care as they let their thoughts wander while the band on stage finished the song, drawing a loud cheer from the raucous gathering. Cody, who was panting already, noticed the girls eyeing the impressive crocodile, who was wearing nothing but a pair of knee-length denim shorts, and gave Luna a nudge with his elbow.
"Like 'em, eh Luna?" Cody asked with a grin. But Luna didn't move, and it was only after he nudged her two more times that he was able to get her attention. "Luna?"
"Oh. . .yeah. . .I like 'em," said Luna, "especially that crocodile. . .by the name of the Goddess, he's almost as hot as you are." The todd could only grin as she confessed that, pulling her close to him while nuzzling her cheek. He knew that she had an eye for him too and proceeded to share what he knew about him.
"That's Croco Xarranax, the lead singer," he told her, "and he's a bit like me in the fact that he had a rough childhood." Cody's parents never really got along too well and split apart when he was ten, with Cody staying with his father in Frescata much to his mother's dismay. But Luna was well aware of that as Croco continued to play to the crowd, asking them if they enjoyed the bands that played prior to Saur Loser taking the stage. Of course, everybody went wild, screaming and throwing their hands up in the air even if they didn't really like the bands, but everyone knows that it's a common courtesy not to heckle a band, even if they're not on the stage. Then the iguana started to play the opening notes of a somber but heavy song called Numb as the seven friends watched.
All the while the set was going on, Cody kept nudging Luna, asking her if she would like to go into the back hallway, which was more popularly known as "Yiffer's Alley" to clubgoers. The first time was during a cover of a Slipknot song called Surfacing. . .about two minutes into the song just as an interlude was being played. Green, red and yellow lights flickered alternately for about ten seconds. Then all went dark as a pulsing white strobe light while the dragon extended his wings and started pounding his double-kicker pedals furiously to the beat of the song, the dragon's wings darkened like a shadow, sending the crowd into pandemonium. They screamed and cheered loudly for the ten second burst before they went into the next verse, but as for Luna and Cody. . .each time Cody asked if she wanted to sneak off, the vixen politely declined. The todd would then wait until several minutes had passed before he would pester her again. Finally after the third time, during a more mellower song called The Perfect Life, Cody gave up, giving the attractive young lady a lick on the cheek as the song wound to an end, the cheers not coming too long after.
It was at this time that the young vixen's eyes met the eyes of Croco. . .his green-yellow eyes that were like a spring leaf meeting hers, a deep blue, almost grey color. Immediately, Luna gasped and clutched her heart before nudging the closest friend to her, which was Brindy.
"Oh, goddess. . .he's. . .looking at me. . ." she was finally able to choke out. Brindy dismissed this and told her that he was probably scanning the crowd, and surprisingly Luna bought into it with a sigh. Then the crocodile lowered his head and closed his eyes while a blue light slowly faded on.
"Now this next one. . .I'm not sure if you've heard this one," Croco announced, "but I'm sure all the old Saur Loser fans out there will know. This was off our self-titled indy debut. . .and this one touches my heart unlike anything out there. It's about a dear friend of mine that was taken well before his time in a most unimaginable way. . .while at the same time, I was there when he went, so you know that it was pretty heavy on me. Anyway, this one is called All That's Left and if you don't believe in the power of a very close friendship after hearing this one. . ." He let out a sigh and paused as the drummer, a very large and powerful dragon that looked to be an aqua-blue color, started tapping on his hi-hat cymbals before completing his thought. ". . .then I don't know what to say or do to help you." Then the dragon stomped the bass pedal twice before the first words echoed throughout the theater. "Try to see things from my point of view. . .left humbled by fate, still longing for you. . .Broken pieces lie here but our friendship still burns. . .I have been through hell, but all I know. . .IS THERE'S STILL A LOT TO LEARN!!!"
Then bedlam soon erupted when the main rhythm broke out from the guitar, most of the audience having never heard this song before, but they loved it as the more rowdy fans gathered in a circle. Wesley looked over at the gathering and thought about joining in the mosh pit with a grin on his face, but Cody and Rakura declined and the girls wanted nothing to do with it. They were content to listen to the crocodile's powerful words for the duration of the song, which was over five minutes in length before the guitar faded out and the last words were drawn from Croco's mouth. Afterwards, the crowd showered the band with praise and cheering, which caused the croc to drop to a knee and lower his head almost as if to start crying.
"Thank you. . .from the bottom of my heart," he said on the verge of tears, "you don't know what this means to me." Croco fell silent for a brief moment as they were a little more than halfway through their set, before rising to his full height to speak again, an impressive seven and a half feet. "But that was way in the past. . .and though it's good to remember it, we need to move on. We need to look to the fucking future, scalies and furs!" The crowd roared and threw their hands in the air in agreement and approval. "This next one is off our new album, entitled "Cornucopia" and it's sure to blow the roof off this fucking building. . ." He didn't mention the name of the song right away as the iguana started playing a quick, screeching riff. ". . .The album's gonna come out this summer, so be watching for it. . .this is the Baryonyx Song. . ." Another five minutes went by as it was another hard, heavy song with a lot of drum work and a screaming fit about four minutes in, but the crowd loved it.
Croco and Saur Loser finished their set with three of their most popular songs off of their major label debut which was called "The Road Uncertain." The final songs were called Freefall, Destination Unknown, and they finished the set with the song that launched the band into stardom, Crocodile Tears. Toward the end of the final song as he was running through the chorus for the final time, Croco couldn't help but to stare into the eyes of Luna as he softly thumped his chest once while bellowing out the words.
"So why. . .don't I. . .shed some crocodile tears for everyone again. . .cause I. . .know my. . .pain. . .doesn't really mean that much to anyone at all. . .So while. . .you watch. . .me cry. . .just go about your way. . .and I'll just watch you drown. . ." Croco let the final words come out very slowly and deliberately studdered as he did on the record. ". . .in a pool of cro. . .co. . .di. . .le. . . . .tears. . ." He held the final note as long as he could as the crowd erupted into a frenzy before bowing out gracefully. "Thank you, Sapphire Bay. . .we are Saur Loser and we're glad to have killed a perfectly good night with y'all tonight. You guys ready for Silverclaw?" Croco growled out the name of the final band much to the delight of those that had gathered, especially the girls who were shrieking and jumping up and down in excitement like overgrown younglings. "Good. . .cause I'm sure that they've got some crazy shit in store for y'all like we did. Thank you, Sapphire Bay. . .good night one and all! We love ya scalies and furs!" With that, Croco threw his fist in the air before the scalies stepped behind the curtain and the lights came on. A lot of relieved spectators started to shuffle toward the back of the main area to get drinks and souvenirs as well as to relieve themselves. The girls took this opportunity to take a breather in the back as well, gasping and clutching their hearts.
"Oh. . .my. . .gods. . .I have never seen a stage show like that in my life!" Lexa said, holding her mouth, "It was even better than when I saw Sons of Destiny last year!"
"No way!" squealed Brindy, "We were there. . .you were drooling over that mephit like you wanted to rush onto the stage and fuck him on the spot!"
"Shut up, Brindy. . .I wouldn't go that far."
"I agree with Lexa," a grinning Elise told them, "that was one killer stage show, but I loved how they did that during that Slipknot song they did with the dragon drummer spreading his wings. . .my gods! That just about summed it up." She turned to Luna. "What did you think of it, Luna?" No answer. "Luna?" Still nothing as she elbowed her hard, causing the vixen to yelp in surprise. "Luna! What did you like about that last band, if anything?"
"Oh. . .oh, they were good," she said, "I liked the music. They sure were pretty hardcore, but I was kinda expecting that from an all-reptile band." Elise couldn't help but to nudge Brindy, the wolfess turning the ear closest to the lioness to her to listen.
"I think Luna's still drooling over Croco-boy," she whispered with a bit of a sneer. Luna gasped, then smacked Elise hard on the arm, drawing a growl from her.
"I am not!" growled Luna, "Though I have to admit he's kinda cute." The other three were in disbelief, saying things like "Yeah, sure" and "Right. . .of course." They didn't believe her as they bought another round of drinks and continued to socialize, conversing about the bands and which of the members they would want to have a steamy night of sex with. . .with Luna being ruthlessly tormented about Croco, which was really no surprise. They saw the look in his eyes when they wandered over in her direction. But as luck would have it, they ran into an equine friend of theirs that went by the obvious name of Midnight and they conversed with her for a little bit before Elise looked down at her watch. She gasped, then growled at the time. . .it was almost eleven. . .it was almost time for their beloved Silverclaw to grace the stage. The black mare nickered in surprise as well and said goodbye for the time being as they went off in their separate ways.
When they got back to where Cody and the other boys were waiting, they looked up to see that everything was ready. The techs had long vacated the stage and were waiting for the time to come as the crowd was still murmuring and getting antsy. Wesley looked up and was able to get a brief glimpse of Korbin talking to an unknown person and nudged Luna to tell her, but then the lights went out and the crowd screamed. It was a second or two before eleven o'clock and it was time for Silverclaw to take the stage. Five figures cloaked by the darkness took their positions, backs turned to the audience as a slow, steady bass drum beat permeated through the theater. The guitarist on the far left of the stage started to play an eerie melody more appropriate for Halloween than a midsummer night as the crowd was getting wilder. . .it was the opening of a popular song by Silverclaw called Beginnings as the second guitar joined in with the rhythm briefly before fading out as a voice was heard. . .the voice of the one and only Korbin Rasmun.
"All my life, I've been wanting a second chance. . ." the voice sang, "for reasons known by me and only me alone. . .My soul cries out every night I lie myself down and I'm still breathing. . .will I ever come home?" Then the second guitar came in and the lights came on, revealing the band and causing the crowd to go crazy as the tiger turned around to face the throng. "Are you ready, Sapphire Bay?!?" Korbin yelled, a scream that was more high-pitched from the young females in the crowd as they lusted over him. He proceeded to jump up and as soon as his feet touched the ground, a pyrotechnic explosion rocked the club, sending the crowd further into pandemonium. The girls that were standing in front of the stage squealed in delight as they continued the song. Nearly three and a half minutes later, the song ended and the crowd was still screaming as if they had just stepped on stage, drawing a grin from the white tiger frontman.
"You guys liked that one, did ya?" asked Korbin in an almost sarcastic tone. The response was automatic and he grinned again, this time baring his fangs. "Heh. . .well there's plenty more where that came from so let's keep it going here." Luna jumped up and down and squealed along with most of the other young females in the audience. She wanted to get as close as she could to him as she surged forward, creeping closer and closer to the stage. But she found it a little difficult seeing as how the stage was raised about nine feet above the main floor and gave up when she was about ten feet away from it. Elise and Lexa joined her while Cody crept in behind the vixen and wrapped his arms around her before the next song was played. Luna turned back and smiled when she saw herself in Cody's clutches.
"Having fun, love?" he asked. Luna gave him a puppyish yip and a nod as the band started to play their next song, a heavy tale of betrayal called Something to Give, which Cody was very fond of. He let her go for a brief moment to throw his fist in the air in approval before clutching Luna tightly. If there was something that Cody was really good at, it was interpreting the meanings of songs he hears, either on a disc or on the radio. . .or on stage in a crowded club. Cody had been betrayed by another vixen when he discovered that she was sleeping with his best friend at the time and it ate at him to the point where he thought about suicide. However, it was not long after that when another friend of his introduced him to Luna, which made him happy again.
Silverclaw continued to play for another forty-five minutes, to which the masses that had gathered were up and bouncing as if the first band of the night were playing their first song. It got to the point where between songs, Korbin wiped his brow and started to purr.
"I've seen some wild crowds in the five years we've been doing this shit," he said with a grin, "but you guys are without a doubt the wildest, most out of fuckin' control crowd I've ever seen. Give it up, Sapphire Bay. . .you should be proud of yourselves!" The crowd screamed and threw their paws skyward as the white tiger gave another speech about freedom before they played Now is My Time, the first single that was off their latest album entitled "Don't Turn Your Back." However, it was toward the end of their set and it was getting late, so they only had time for three more songs. . .one was their latest single and the title track from their latest album, another was a previously unreleased song that wasn't on either of the two albums they put out called Memory, and the final was the first single off of their self-titled debut called A Place to Lie My Broken Spirit. The final song ended with a wild display of drumwork and Korbin bringing down the banner that hung above the stage and tearing it to shreds with his sharp hand claws, which has become the band's personal trademark as well as his own as one of the guitarists, a panther, joined in the flurry of claws. After about a minute of this, Korbin turned to the audience and thanked them for showing up for the concert before the lights came back on and everyone started to file out of the club.
