Amaterasu is shamed...
After the events leading to the kidnapping of Maiden Kushi to be used for the sacrifice for the dragon Orochi, the sun goddess in the form of a wolf, Amaterasu, dashes through the fields of Nippon in a rush to slay Orochi. Riding along side of Amaterasu, (or rather, on top of her) is Issun, a Poncle who is only half an inch tall. Issun looks at the map of Nippon and tells Amaterasu where to go.
"Just a little farther to go, Ammy," says Issun. "A little more... Aaaaaaand turn left!" Amaterasu makes a sharp left as she runs, then examines her surroundings, unaware of what's in front of her. "Ammy! Watch out for that tree!" Ammy does her best George of the Jungle impression as she smacks into a tree... Dazed, but not hurt, she recovers from the crash. Issun jumps off Ammy and starts to complain. "Geez, Ammy. Watch where you are going! For a goddess, you sure are clumsy." Amaterasu whines a bit and scratches her ears. Issun shakes his head and says, "I guess I should let you do map duty, huh?"
** Suddenly, Issun and Amaterasu hear a thump near the tree. They look to see a cracked beehive spilling its contents. "This is bad." Issun says to himself. Bees fly out of the hive and start to swarm around the hive, tracking the one responsible for the crime against their home. Issun shouts out, "This is really bad! Run, Ammy, run!" Amaterasu turns to run but a swarm of bees form a wall in front of her. She growls deep, looking for a way out, when she hears a small voice.**
** "Great Goddess Amaterasu, listen to me." A bee with a Japanese sunhat breaks from the group and flies on her nose. Issun jumps to her snout as well to go face-to-face with the bee. "Look, we're sorry about the whole wrecking-your-home thing. But we are in a hurry to get somewhere." Issun explains. The bee shakes his head and says, "You two will not leave until we discuss your punishment." Issun starts to get angry and shouts, "An evil dragon is going to curse this land! Let us go or else!" "I care not." The bee calmly responds. "Even if the land is saved, we are without a home. All we want is to punish the one who has destroyed our home. Great Goddess, we respect you. But you must receive our anger. Accept the shame of your clumsiness and we will let you go. If you try to run, we will follow to the ends of the earth and you will receive our anger tenfold. Make your choice." The bee then flies up and waits patiently with the swarm for her decision.**
** Issun turns to Amaterasu and yells at her. "We don't have the time to spare for this. We can out run them!" Amaterasu whines and turns around. "Good, Ammy! Now run as fast as you can." She does not run. Instead, she puts her head down, puts her butt up, and raises her tail. 'WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! Ammy, are you crazy?" Amaterasu barks at Issun and looks at the bees whimpering and shaking her butt at them.**
** "Great God Amaterasu, you have chosen wisely. You know it is best to try and pay back for an apology then to run from your problems and forsaken others you have wronged," the bee says as he enlists orders. The swarm breaks up into halves. One to check the queen, one to scout the area for a new home, one to collect their food, and one to punish Amaterasu. "You will receive ten marks of shame on your back-end, and then you may proceed. Ready yourself." Ammy whines and braces herself for the pain the bees have in store for her.**
The bee commander flicks his antenna and commands a bee to swoop down and land on her buttocks. It does, and readies its stinger. It strikes her round flesh borrows its sting deep. Ammy gives out a sharp yelp and whines. Issun hops behind her and checks the damage. A bump forms around the sting and venom as black as ink writes itself on around the wound and spells out "shame". **? **The sting then falls off and leaves behind the symbol. Issun hop on Amaterasu and says, "You should have run when you had the chance." Ammy grunts at Issun then yelps in pain again.
Soon, Amaterasu's butt is covered in symbols of shame. The commander flies down and says, "You have paid the price. Those symbols will wear off soon, as I know you will get much praise from the slaying of Orochi. Now go, you still have enough time!" Issun hops on Amaterasu's head and shouts, "Well, it's about time! Get going, bumpy butt. We need to save Kushi! She gets up, rubs her butt on the ground, and then dash on course at full speed.
** Atamerasu knows that Issun will never understand why she subjected herself to the wrath of the bees, but she knows a goddess she must take the scorn, as well as the praise of those she rules over.**
