Chapter Four:
Returning Enemies!
The dragons rushed through the hallways, searching for their attackers. Crimson gasped in horror as he saw eight giant munants smash through the walls. They wore thick gold armor on their shoulders and a large dark red robes over their backs. One wore a large gold helmet shaped like a dragon skull. It scanned the dragons and stopped at Crimson. "Give us the dragon and you die quick. Don't and you will suffer." it roared pointing to him. The guardians stepped forward and took an defensive stance.
"You will have to go through us, first," Terrador growled. The head munant roared as four munants jumped at the guardians and threw them back through the hole in the wall. Spyro and Cynder tried to help the guardians but the remaining munants stopped them. "Don't worry about us. You deal the others." Terrador said ducking to avoid the munant's arm and swinging his tail club into its head.
"Master wants you," the leader munant said to Crimson, who just sat wide-eyed in horror. The munant rased its arms openly. "Come back to the master."
"No," Crimson said snapping out of his trance. The munants roared and began the attack. Spyro and Cynder rolled as two munants charged almost trampling them. Cynder slashed at one of her attackers but her sudden strike didn't even scratch its skin. Spyro ice breath didn't stop the other munant. It hit Spyro's face with a mighty uppercut, launching him into the ceilling. He coughed blood and blacked out as he fell back down into the munant's fist. He collided with a wall causing it to crack as he hit the floor.
Cynder jumped into the air and dropped her tail blade onto the munant but it caught it in its hand. The munant whipped Cynder into the ground. Her body went limp as the munant slammed her into the ground again and threw her into the cracked wall. She fell next to Spyro as the wall collapsed.
Crimson launched a fireball at the munant's helment. It looked at him as the fourth munant grabbed his thoat, lifting him up into the air and slamming him into ground knocking the wind out of him. He saw Cynder and Spyro burried under the rubble. "That is enough!" He yelled, his body trembled. Darkness began to bleed through his scales and his eyes glowed white. Every breath he took released a growl. The red chains began to glow brighter and brighter as blood dripped down his wings. Sparks surged from one scale to another. He roared loudly as his wings tensed and the chain snapped in a hue of crimson. A voilent vortex of wind formed around Crimson and sucked in all the stone rubble, which disappeared in it walls. He opened his wings, scattering the wind, and smiled at the munants. The munants roared defiantly and one ran up to strike the dragon. But as its arm drew close to Crimson, a bolt shot from the dragon's body and into the munant's arm, shredding it to peices. The munant howled, waking Cynder from unconsciousness, and jumped back.
The dark dragon began to flap his wings and a softer vortex began to build. As he gradually increased speed, snow started to fall harder and harder and the ground began to freeze beneath him.. Crimson released the blizzard at the munants, freezing them to the floor. The munants could do nothing dut stare defiantly at the dark dragon as their bodies began to quickly freeze. Once the munants were frozen, Crimson reared back and launched a huge gust of wind, lifting munants and shattering them on the ceilling. He then turned and walked to the other two dragons. Cynder stuggled to get up and defend Spyro from the dark dragon. "Are you alright?" he asked stopping in front of her. Cynder was to dizzy and surprized to speak. Crimson rased a paw and placed them on her shoulder. The darkness crawled over her injuries and healed them before jumping to Spyro and healing his. When it was done, it slithered back to Crimson. "Are you alright?" he repeated as the darkness dissipated but his eyes continued to glow.
"Uh...yeah," she finally piped as Spyro sat up. Crimson smiled and blinked, his eyes returned to normal.
"I can see you had a hard time with these things too," Cyril said stepping through the hole in the wall, followed by Volteer. They were badly cut up from their battle.
"Where's Terrador," Spyro asked trying to stand. Cynder helped him up.
"He went to check on something."
...
A pitch black egg sat on a pedestal of spirit gems. The gems glowed brightly as the egg drew strength from them. The pedestal sat in a room among hundreds of other pedestals, each with their own egg.
...
Terrador ran through the corridors at top speed as he tried to find his way back to Spyro and the others. When he finally found them, he ran even faster. He skid to a stop.
"What's wrong?" Cyril asked.
"Twelve... twelve of the eggs are...are missing!!"
