Hey! It's nice to post after so long! Did you guys miss me?

So here's a few funny things about this chapter. It's the longest one yet! At 6,665 words, this one is a doozy!

avatar?user=86835&character=0&clevel=2 kergiby REALLY helped me out with this one, so make sure to thank him as well!

As always, we appreciate any comments, and helpful criticism. With that said, let's get this show on the road!

A sense of dread filled me when I heard the large hooded figure speak to us, specifically for a troubling reason: I had seen this being before. He had been watching us while we slept a few nights ago. Whether this was good or bad, I was unsure. As the figure took a step forward to approach us, I saw Jason grip his knife and take a step forward; his body shielding me from the figure. The stranger noticed this and simply raised his hands; one moving to his hood and another gripping a large bundle of soft material...a scarf? I simply watched, and placed my own hand on Jason's back, feeling his powerful back tight, not unlike a coil ready to spring. The large person turned to Jason and said "Relax kid. If I wanted to harm you I could have done it a long time ago." I knew this to be the truth. In a graceful and powerful movement, the stranger pulled both off, revealing his face. Both Jason and I gasped, seeing the horribly scarred face of a bear. He merely chuckled at us and said "Guess I'm not as pretty as I once was. I assure you, I mean you children no harm." He smiled this strange sort of smile, and I knew I was safe. Even Jason relaxed, and I guessed he must have felt the same way.

There was something eerily impressive about this person. A realized I had been holding my breath, started breathing again. "Who are you?" I asked, half perplexed and half in awe.

"I go by many names, but I'm most commonly known as Wandered, for the specific reason that I have wandered through this world for so long...that there is very little I don't know about this place," the bear said. His being seemed to emanate age and wisdom, as well as strength. I felt Jason take my hand, and I realized that I had begun walking toward Wandered. Looking closer at him, as he took his powerful, yet graceful steps, I tried to get a sense of him. From what parts I could under his cloak, he was entirely battle scarred. I thought he was winking for a second, and I then realized he wasn't winking at all; his right eye was gone. As if sensing this from me, Wandered raised his large paw and toward his face, and covered the socket from my view, saying in an amused voice, "It's rude to stare..." At this I blushed slightly, forgetting my place and manners. Wandered finally stop a few feet from us, and I gazed at his large bulk and size, seeming otherworldly tall, looking like he was 7 feet tall, dwarfing both me and Jason.

Jason tugged my arm slightly, and I got the sense that he might not actually be as interested in talking to Wandered as I was. I decided to let Jason take charge. He pulled my into his chest, a protective arm over shoulder; the other floating over his knife. I shivered again; smelling the blood all over Jason...it scared me. Jason wouldn't hurt me though; I knew that. "We don't want any trouble, sir." Jason said, with a hint of edge in his voice. "We're just looking for a safe place."

Wandered nodded at us, and I heard a sound coming from behind Wandered "As I told you before, I mean you children no harm. I know many safe places...but we have little time, as this place is not safe. Let us depart, shall we?" Jason looked at me, then back at Wandered, and nodded. "Ah, good. Let's move quickly, this way!" Wandered turned quickly, and began to walk down the hallway. Still holding my hand, Jason and I followed the mysterious bear, as he guided us through the now well-lit plant. I wished I could admire the place, seeing the amount of work that went into this place. Pipes, cables, and vents ran all over the place, and the hum had turned into a strange whoosh. The scent of metal hung over the air, and I realized that it was no longer dank and muggy inside this place, but fresh and cool. Every now and then, the sound of barks could be heard throughout the plant, we were reminded that the place not at all safe. After a few minutes of walking down aisles and corridors, I saw a door with a green "EXIT" above it. A sudden barking could be heard, and I turned around to see a large pack of hounds at the end of the hallway, easily a dozen of those damn beasts. "OUT." Wandered said sternly, and he practically flung me and Jason out the door, into a quiet office that showed a nice view of the city. Wandered slammed the heavy steel door, I heard the pounding and scratching on the other side. I held on to Jason's hand tightly in fear of the hounds breaking through. "Those hellhounds are always such a hassle. We should be safe for now."

Jason and I both sighed in relief, and slumped on the carpet flooring of the office. As I rested there, I couldn't help but wonder who this strange bear was. Sitting up, I turned to Wandered, "Mr. Wandered, where are we going now?" I asked.

The scarred bear turned to me. "I'm taking you two to a safe spot, where we can rest for a few days. The hellhounds like to prowl the city at night, so the sooner we go the better." Wandered walked across the small plain office, and moved toward the large window that offered the nice view. I couldn't help but to think that whoever had worked must have been quite lucky and appreciative of the site. "We can leave the power plant through this fire escape. Let's hurry."

I stood up without regard for Jason. At the moment, my hopes were pinned with the bear. Nodding to Wandered, I said "Okay sir." I watched as he bounded over the window and onto the catwalk for the fire escape. Once there, he began releasing the lock, and a terrible racket was made as the stairs began to descend to the floors below.

As the racket began, Jason looked at me and said "Wait...I'm not saying we need to get out of here, but I don't think we can trust him." He said, his anxieties evident in his blue eyes, which shone even more with his white fur stained by blood.

I felt my tail start twitching, curling left and right, a bad habit I had when I got irritated, but wasn't completely sure I was in the right. Looking to the window where Wandered was standing outside of, I said, "You go on first sir, I'll go down once you reach the bottom!"

The bear merely nodded at me. "Alright, I'll wait for you down there, but don't take long! Time is short." I watched as he began down the long stair case, and once he was out of earshot, I turned to my partner.

I decided to go straight to the point. "Jase, we don't have time for this...Why don't you think we can trust him? He just saved us! He saved you earlier too..."

Jason frowned. His look showed the displeasure he felt at what I suspected was the bear going down the stairs. Just like me, he voiced his thought instead of going about the bush. "I'm not going to put my trust in some random person. I just... I have a bad feeling about this. This whole thing is messed up."

I simply sighed and placed my hand on my hip, thinking about the ace in my sleeve. "He's not so random...I have a feeling he's been watching us for a while. If he wanted to harm us, then he would have done it a long time ago. As weird and creepy as it is to consider he's been watching us, it says a lot about him. Now, can we please go? I don't like to keep people waiting.

Jason thought briefly about this, before sighing. "Alright, fine." He consented. He began to rub his neck, and a small smirk formed in the corner of his lips. "I don't like this. It's messed up... just for the record."

I nodded and helped Jason up to his feet. "I know, it weirds me out too, but he's had plenty of chances to leave us to our doom...and he hasn't. He's also willing to help us, and in this place, his offer seems rare. I'm not going to miss out on that." With Jason's hand in mine, we made our way to the the window. "Do you want to go down first, or should I?" I asked.

Jason shook his head. "You go out. I'm right behind you." Jason helped me up past the ledge and pushed me out gently, making sure I was safe. "I just... I'm not worried for myself. I'm worried about you..."

I couldn't help but smile at him. "Jason, I'd kiss you if you weren't covered in blood." I waited for Jason to step out, and then we proceeded down the stairs of the fire escape. Stretching from exhaustion, I let myself relax. "I hope I can take a shower where ever he leads us..."

As we were moving down, Jason briefly stopped, and hugged me. "...I'm glad you're alright... I don't want to lose you again". He let me go, and laughed. "I think I could use the shower more than you though..."

I laughed with him, brushing of flecks of dried blood and let my mind wander. "You're definitely showering first. I won't be able to hug and kiss you if you don't." I briefly paused as some memories floated back to the surface of my mind. "...I'm surprised I'm taking all this blood well. ...I-I've had problems with blood ever since the car accident at school...

Jason stopped suddenly, a wide grin on his face. "Did I hear you say something about a kiss?" Jason asked, his tail wagging in big long swings.

I blushed lightly, realizing my mistake. "...Did I say that out loud?" Heavily embarrassed, I felt my cheeks grow hot, and I picked up the pace. "L-let's hurry." I said, embarrassment evident.

As silence reigned again, Jason stopped me again. "...Which car accident are you talking about?"

I simply sighed and looked down. "You know the one...the one with the biker..." Mental images flashed in my mind, and I shivered slightly. "It still hurts to remember." We were getting close to the bottom of the stairs and I naturally began to slow down so I could have more time with Jason.

Jason patted my back, and said "I think you're just happy to see that I'm not dead."

I couldn't help to think of how ironic it would be for us to die again and under my breath, whispered "...again." Exhaling in relief, I gripped his hand tighter, and took the final steps off the fire escape. "Thanks for waiting, Mr. Wandered."

Jason snorted a bit at me, and rudely said "Are you really calling him Mister? Wandered sounds cheesy enough, but adding "Mister" to it?"

Mentally, I blushed at how brash and tactless Jason could be. "I'm sorry Jason, I just like being POLITE." I said, and I did my best effort to squish his hand so that he would get the message to shut up and be polite.

Wandered simply laughed at this, saying "Call me Wandered please. No need to add the mister." He looked around for a bit, as if getting a sense of his bearings and then turned to us. "This way." Wandered said. He began walking back into the city, the soft hum of the power plant still ringing in my ears. Taking Jason's hand, we followed the bear into the city.

As I dragged Jason he began to make small talk with Wandered, but I couldn't help but notice he seemed distracted. "I'm not saying that I'm not grateful for the save, Wandered... I just... uh... I'm a little apprehensive right now."

Wandered merely nodded at Jason, saying "I understand. This place can very harsh at times, and strangers tend to be less than friendly here. You've probably encountered some rude individuals by now, no?"

Had he seen us get attacked by bandits? Jason's fears began to spread through my mind and I stayed quiet. How long had Wandered been watching us? There was so much I wanted to ask the man, but I couldn't find a way to put the questions I wanted to ask together. It was like trying to put together a puzzle with no idea of the image the puzzle had. I realized I had fallen back into my embarrassing habit of curling my tail when I was in deep thought, and I felt my cheeks flush slightly.

Jason brought me back from my thoughts as he laughed bitterly at Wandered. "Rude? You could say that. Couple of bandits tried to kill us. We didn't even have anything of value..."

Wandered shook his head in disapproval. "It wasn't always this bad, you know. Years ago, the land was much kinder. Take this city, for instance. It was a thriving hub, full of people that build a city over an underground aquifer, and the people here thrived. The people were happy, and a few small farms produced the food needed for the people here. Inexplicably, the hounds started appearing; first in small groups, nothing too big to handle. That changed though, and the people were driven out as the number of the hounds exceeded the population, and there was no choice but to escape."

I stayed quiet, and looked back to unfurl my tail, and then realized why Jason was distracted: he was staring at my butt. Flicking my tail at him, I mouthed out "Stop it, its embarrassing!"

He simply smiled and me, and with a naughty gleam in his eye, he mouthed back, "No."

As if to embarrass me further Jason called back attention to Wandered while still staring at my butt; asking the grizzled bear "Where did they come from?"

I simply huffed at him, and decided that I would not lose this game. As changed my pace and began flaunting my hips, making show to show off my butt in the effort. At this point, I think Jason started drooling.

Wandered didn't notice any of this it seems, or if he did, was pretending not to. "I've never actually managed to find where they originated from, but in several locations in the desert, I found caves where many of these beasts could be found." He pulled back his cloak sleeve, and showed his scar-covered arm. "I've gotten a lot of these while cave spelunking. I suspect that these beasts might have been normal dogs that got lost in these caves, and reverted to some sort of primal beast that lost all sense of light. Tragic, really." Wandered tutted.

Jason kept at the game, and before he knew it, he stumbled. Trying to still keep his composure, he asked Wandered, "But where did the bloodlust come from?"

I bit my tongue to prevent myself from laughing at Jason, and Wandered looked back at Jason, a small gleam of concern on his face. His head tilting over, he asked. "Are you okay? You almost fell there..."

Jason simply nodded and said "Yeah... um... got distracted was all."

Wandered smiled, and continued. "Well, to answer your question, the origins seem to be from a lack of food. From the initial reports of the incidents recorded...before the recordings went to hell... some large tribe of the Hellhounds left their caves in search of food and found this city, and they took a liking to the peoples' flesh. Nasty problem, those hounds."

"Sounds like it..." Jason said, scrunching his face in disgust.

Wandered looked at the darkening sky, as the sun began to dip, throwing beautiful shades of pink and purple; the light of the sun beginning to fade. Wandered stayed silent for a bit, as we all walked down the streets and I realized that everyone had something on their minds. As briefly wondered about some of Wandered's stranger actions, he began to speak. "...It seems that as everything went to hell, some people began to think it was the fate of the city to die, and began doing things to help the hounds...one of which you undid Jason; turned the plant back on. Some of the others...they...we're close."

I saw that we were in a commercial district, with several buildings surrounding us, the neon glowing in the twilight. "Where do you mean Wandered? Where is the safe place?" I asked.

Wandered signaled to a lonely looking Motel, with dim lights shining blue and yellow saying, "Vacancies Open." He smiled contentedly to himself and said, "That's the place."

Jason stopped dead in his tracks, looking at it. His face became flustered at first, then hard with an emotion I couldn't really read. "No. No fucking way. A run down motel like this? This just screams rape." He turned to me to make sure I wasn't too pissed at him; and added "... No offense." I simply shook my head and acted calm, but my tail said otherwise.

Wandered kept his calm demeanor and small smile while explaining, "During the events of the hound invasion, this motel became a safe zone for people passing, offering itself as a safe haven. It looks plain from the outside, but the inside has many barricades, and some rooms are even interconnected. I figured this would be a good place to rest for the next few days, and if need be, escape. No person was ever harmed while in here though, so I'm sure we'll be safe."

Jason merely shrugged and quietly said "Okay... Just... common perceptions from before... Sorry..." Looking away from Wandered, Jason took my hand and gripped it tightly, as if afraid I would suddenly disappear.

As the motel came into view, Wandered turned face to us, and looked serious. "I have business in the offices, as well as a few room, so I'll be here for 3 weeks. You're welcome to stay for as long as you like. There is probably still some food in the kitchens, and some stores around here might still have food. I'll warn you right now: don't leave the motels during the night. The Hellhounds prowl the streets." Wandered then began looking about the wall, until he spotted a lightly marked brick on the wall. Pulling the wall out from its location, Wandered stuck his large paw through the hole and pulled out a large ring of keys, and smiled. "Good they're still here." Looking back at the sky, it became very evident that it would soon be dark, and that it would no longer be safe at that point. Going thought the large ring, he found a simple with a strange etch and placed it in the keyhole. With an sharp twist, the large metallic doors squeaked open, and Wandered signaled us to head inside.

I felt a strong push on my back, and I looked back to see Jason's stern face rushing us in, giving a brief nod to Wandered. "Alright, good to know. Is there anything we need to stay away from?

Wandered shook his head at us. "No, but I'll keep you updated if I find anything of use here." Wandered threw his cloak off, and his powerful body was revealed. It seemed that beneath his cloak, the bear had no shirt, and his scars became even more evident. His chest was covered in some horrific and painful looking scars, and I couldn't help but to wince at this. Jumping over the counter, Wandered produces several keys and opens several locked cabinets and began to look through them, leaving Jason and me to our things. Looking up from his paperwork, he pulled out several keys from the chain and laid them in front of us. "I believe the fancier rooms are in right wing, second floor."

I simple nodded at the enigmatic bear, and turned to Jason. Feeling a deep sense of relief, I smiled at Jason, and said, "Let's go pick a room Jase!"

Jason smiled and pulled me toward him, holding on to me, and then running in front and up the stairs, practically dragging me up. He then began to laugh, and I smiled. I hadn't heard it in a while. When Jason laughed, it made me happy. Deep and boisterous, it was like his entire body went into doing the simple effort. His poofy chest bounced up and down, and it was nice to see that Jason had finally relaxed.

We spent a large amount of time looking at the rooms, and admiring them. Though by normal standards, the rooms were pretty crappy, after several weeks of wandering the desert, it was like picking from luxury suits. Then we finally found it: the actual luxury suit. The room was warmly decorated with bright colors, giving the room a happy feel, The wall was painted a light brown, and the couches had were of a dark yellow. The room itself had a private feel, and despite the abandonment on little use the room had seen, it had very little dust about, some places having only a thin veneer of dust. The room was oddly accommodated, and had a small fridge in the corner of the room. There was nothing inside unfortunately, and it only prompted my search of more things. I managed to find a small radio in the corner of the room, and sadly realized that this was probably the best form of entertainment I'd find in the desert. Turning it on, I was largely disappointed to find that there was no stations on, and I pouted at Jason, missing my games and laptop briefly. Jason merely shrugged and kept looking about the room.

After exploring the room, I said "This place is great! We're gonna get to rest so good Jase!"

He nodded toward me, and in his sharp blue eyes, I could see his exhaustion, as well as relief. "Yeah, we are. At least we'll be safe. But..." Jason started to slowly approach me, and I felt a strange sense of embarrassment. " Let's take a shower." He said, taking my hand into his. "We could use it..."

I just couldn't help it. He had caught me off guard, and felt my entire face grow hot, as I blushed scarlet. I could feel my tail twitch nervously every now and then, in a completely discombobulated state I was only able to muster out the words: "Wh-what!? Jason...I...uh-I don't know if...but you...NAKED!" Completely embarrassed at the turn of events, I turned away and flung myself into the undusted bed.

I felt the bed shift, and felt Jason's hand run over my back. "I'm not gonna do anything, man. Don't you trust me?"

With my face down, into a pillow, I simply shook my head. "I do trust you! You being naked and trusting you have nothing to do with one another! I felt my ears grow hotter, and I covered them in embarrassment.

Feeling his firm, yet soft hands turn me over, I kept my eyes closed, and suddenly felt his lips on mine. I was slowly falling into the softness of his lips. I used whatever remained of my will and gently shoved him away. I couldn't actually say no. My body had wanted it that much. All I could do was to stare at him and stutter his name quietly. "J-Jason..."

Realizing what he had done, Jason could only stare at me before backing up a little, a little bit of embarrassment on his face. "Shit. I... I shouldn't have done that... Fuck!" He lightly hit his forehead, and I suspected he was lashing at himself internally.

I could only look at him, still blushing lightly, with a confused look on my face. "Wh-why did you do that?" I asked. I wasn't mad, just confused.

Jason looked unsure, as if he had lost control of himself for a second. Sighing lightly, he said "I shouldn't have done that. I-I'm sorry. I just... I..." He shook his head, unable to continue.

I felt bad to leaving him like this. "You...didn't...do anything wrong, you know. I'm not mad, just...confused?"

Jason shook his head, and tired piecing together the thoughts in his head. "Yes. I just... I don't... I broke your heart... I'm confusing you now." He simply looked down, and spoke no more.

There was a long silence, as we sat on that dusty bed. After gathering myself and my thoughts, I spoke again. "...I still c-care about you. I...I wouldn't be as r-red as a cherry if I didn't. I just...I need to you to give more time, Jase...I need time to heal." Raising my arms slowly, I hugged Jason, and snuggled deeply into his chest, not caring about the blood on him. I wouldn't let things like that stop me. I needed to comfort my best friend right now.

He held me tenderly for a while before speaking again. "Isaac, I want to make up... I mean, I want to make it up to you. I...I really like you. But, I'll move at your pace."

I nodded toward him "Okay then...my choice..." I moved my fingers, and held the zipper to my red sleeveless hoodie, and with a soft exhalation, took it off. My ears were still hot, but I no longer felt as embarrassed as I had before. Jason understood, and proceeded to slip his hands under his blood encrusted, blue tank top. Slowly pulling it off, I stared at his white chest, and the firm tone-ness that was evident even through his thick white coat. We both said nothing, and I could only stare into his blue eyes. Despite their strength, I could tell how awkward and nervous he felt. He shivered slightly, and I wondered if he was cold, before realizing I needed to proceed.

Holding the cuffs of my long sleeve, I pulled them so that I could slide my arms under the shirt, and lifted the white long sleeve off. We had both seen each other shirtless plenty of times before, but something was different. Slowly it dawned on me. What was different...was our feelings for each other. As I kicked my simple boots off, I looked Jason and smiled very softly. Like a hushed whisper, that smile was meant for only Jason. I wanted him to know that I cared.

Jason nodded at me, and continued, unbuckling his biker boots, and settling them softly on the floor. All that remained on Jason was khaki brown shorts, and whatever underwear he had under that. Jason broke our silence, and softly said, "You don't have to do this Iz. We can shower separately. I don't want to rush you. I can wait."

I simply shook my head at Jason. I was ready for this. I wanted to acknowledge this feeling in my heart. I wanted him to know that I cared. Moving my hands to my pants, I unbuttoned the front, and the tail fly, and let my jeans fall to my feet. Slowly stepping out of them, I let my tail curl around my leg, and my embarrassment started coming back again. Jason quickly removed his khaki shorts, noticing my embarrassment. I slowly shifted from my spot next to the bed, and stood in front of him. All that remained was our underwear.

We both stood in front of each other, and I placed my hand in the waistband of my underwear. I made sure to unbutton the small sleeve that hanged up on tail. As the underwear slumped off, I held on to it. I waited, and watched as Jason did the same. "Together now." Jason said.

I nodded at him and counted down from three. "Three...Two...One." We let go, at watched as all barriers we had before in real life were dropped. We closed this distance, and though a few more barriers remained, Jason and I had never been any closer than this. We held each other briefly, rubbing our body, and letting our fur touch each other. I purred softly, a habit I often tried to repress, as it was embarrassing. Right now, that wasn't necessary. All I needed to do was acknowledge my feelings and come to terms that Jason...was more than my friend.

Naked as the day we were born, Jason stared at my most private parts for only a few seconds before composing himself. Blushing lightly, he said "I've wanted to be in this position with you for so long, but i can't keep my eyes off of your face right now..."

I laughed quietly at Jason's comments. It was all I could do. I couldn't say anything. I was marveling at Jason's body, and was too dumbfounded to speak. If anybody would have told me a moment this intimate would happen with Jason, I would have never believed it.

Jason's blush returned and he hugged me closer, pressing our bodies together. I let him hold me, and was glad that things hadn't gotten frisky. I would be too nervous to do anything of that nature yet. Jason brought me out of my thoughts as he said "I'm glad that you trust me with this..."

As we held each other, I took a step back, and asked, "So...what now Jason?"

Jason shrugged unsure of what to do, and said "Let's clean up first...then we can figure it out."

At this point, all I could do was to blush and smile at him, this boy who more than my friend. "O-okay." I said, and I grabbed Jason's hand, and nodded toward him. Turning toward the bathroom, we took very slow but steady steps, and I felt myself feeling nervous as we began down another path of life. I didn't know where it would take us, but I knew that it would have Jase by my side the entire way.

Once we were in the bathroom, I reached inside the shower and turned the nozzle a little below hot, and we waited for the water to run warm. Looking briefly at Jason, whom I could feel behind me, his breath on my neck, I let my mind wander on what could have been. We stood there for a while, hearing the water running, before I broke the silence and said "...I wish we could have done this when we were alive."

Jason turned me around to face him, and I covered myself nervously. Shaking his head, Jason said, "Who says we're not still alive? I mean, we're still breathing, we're still using energy. I think this is just a continuation of life."

I could only smile at Jason weakly. He had a point. Shaking my head a bit, I said "You know what I mean Jason...Is there anybody you miss from the other world?"

Jason shook his head. "My family abandoned me. They left me completely alone. Disowned me. I wasn't good enough for them. My friends acted like I died. The only person I'd miss...is right here.

I looked down, feeling the tender affection that Jason was directing at me. "I miss mom...but this second chance I've had...I don't want to miss out on it." I pulled at the shower curtain and felt the water. Murring slightly, I realized the childish display of happiness, and blushed at the silly display of emotion. "The waters warm!" I said with a bright smile. "....I've missed showers so much." Taking a tentative step inside the shower tub, I let the water hit me, and felt myself being cleaned of all the grime, sweat, and exhaustion that had built up over the past few days.

I watched as Jason walked in behind me, tentatively rubbing water into me. He had a dark blush in his face, and a look that Jason put on when he was struggling to maintain his cool. "I've missed showers too... I missed the feel of the water, I miss having clean fur, and..." Jason paused for a bit, as if unsure to say what I suspected he would. "...I miss being close to you."

After letting myself get thoroughly well soaked, I let Jason enter the stream, and watched as the blood washed away from his fur, and swirled down into the drain. Jason laughed quietly and said, "Would you help me out with my back?"

I nodded toward him, began scrubbing his back, making slow circular movements down his back. After a small while of doing this, I recalled something from when we were younger. Pausing for a few seconds, I decided to go for it. "...You always liked this." I said, and began scratching his lower back, right above his tail and watched happily as he growled happily, and wagged his tail.

Murring somewhat, Jason smiled and turned to me. "...How'd you remember? That was years ago..." Jason was talking about events from when we were in middle school. One time Jason had been itchy, and I found one of his pleasure spots without even knowing it. For a dog, touching these spots was more intimate, and would have been considered as provocative as licking someone's ear.

I smiled softly, and looked away, to make sure I didn't see any more that was necessary. "I always remembered. I knew it bothered you that I stopped doing it, but your mom gave funny stares once, and I realized that it was no longer appropriate."

Jason smiled, and scratched his form arm, tugging slightly on his fur. His habit when he was thinking. "Heh... Yeah. She talked to me about that once... She was so mad." He laughed sheepishly and turned back into the stream.

I could help but feel bad about that. I never knew he had gotten in trouble. "...I'm sorry. I hope I didn't get you into too much trouble."

Jason stiffened and looked back at me. "No. Don't...don't. Just....stop it. You don't need to apologize if you did nothing wrong." He brought me into his chest, and held me for the longest time as if he never wanted to let go.

After spending the longest time in the shower, I wondered how much time had passed. The warm water had started becoming fresh and I asked Jason, "How long do you think we've spent in here?

Jason simply shrugged. "I dunno, really. I always lose track of time when I spend time with you."

It was ironic really. Being in the desert made me feel as if I was wasting water now, and I decided to address this thought and spoke to Jason. "It's funny to think how much water we're using for a shower, when you almost died in the desert from not drinking any." Cupping my hands, I flung some water on to Jason's back and said, "You're clean now, by the way."

Jason hugged me, and I blushed at his affectionate courting. "I'm just glad to be clean...though, I think we should find some soap later."

I nodded to him. At least all the bad stuff was off. Thinking about it, I said, "There's probably some in one of the storages. We can ask Wandered later. I have a lot I want to ask him."

Jason crossed his arms, and huffed. "I still don't trust him..." he said.

I sighed and crossed my arms. "Look, I think he's trustworthy. So let's just drop this, because he's been nothing but nice ever since we met him."

Jason shrugged and turned off the water. "I just... I don't know what it is exactly, but it's just this feeling I get."

I shrugged back at him and said "I get the feeling that you're just being paranoid."

Jason frowned at me, and looked away as if hurt. "It's better than not even caring..."

I shook my head. "I do care. It's just that...when I see him, I feel at peace. And he knows so much about this place. What I need is more information."

Jason stared sternly into my eyes, and I could feel the icy blue boring into me. "I'm just trying to keep us safe. I...I'll stop being so mean though..." Jason said, with a hint of annoyance.

I smiled at him and said, "Thanks."

Jason opened the plain curtain, and went over to the towel rack. "Only one...put your arms up." I blushed and did as I was told. Jason began to dry me off; starting with the arms and working the way down, leaving my fur dry, but completely avoiding my nether regions. It was cute to see how well he treated me at times.

Once he was finished, I smiled, and said, "You're such a gentleman at times." I decided to reward him with a small kiss on his cheek. He simply nodded and looked away, trying to keep his cool. I started laughing when I could see he was blushing.

Keeping his stern face, Jason quietly spoke. "I lost you once... I refuse to lose you again." I felt myself grow hot, as I felt the intensity of his words.

After blushing, I looked away and said, "Alright Romeo, let's go find you a towel."

Jason nodded at me, and with a bright smile said "Sure!"

I stepped out of the tub carefully, making sure I wouldn't slip. Turning back at him, with the towel at my waist, I looked at him and asked, "Um...do you want wait or something?"

Jason tilted his head, and his ear twitched, as if I had spoken to him in a different language. I almost laughed at the cuteness of that. "For what? He asked.

I sighed at how dense he was at times. "For me to get you a towel. I didn't know if you wanted to prance around naked and wet."

Jason smiled coyly and he thrust his hips at me, making lewd motions. "You'll like it..." he said. I almost punched him. There goes the gentleman.

"Uh, yeah...you're gonna stay here." I said, obvious annoyance at him.

Jason frowned, and said, "Aww..." disappointment evident in his voice.

Walking away, I couldn't help but giggle. I eventually found a towel, and we dressed up only to lie back down in bed after dusting it off. We spent a few days just relaxing, and talking, and Wandered stopped by to give us a map of the city. Our days were spent wandering the city for interesting things, and scurrying back in time before sunset. Here in this land, I had started to feel like time was meaningless. I suspected a week or two had passed by, and that Wandered would soon leave. So many things were on my mind that still remained unaddressed. As Jason and I snuggled one night, like we had grown used to, I suddenly spoke to him. "Jase?"

Half asleep, his ear twitched, "Hmm?"

"I was thinking about Wandered..." I said, stroking the white fur on his arm.

Jason perked up and looked at me. "What about him?"

"I have a lot of questions, and we haven't even taken the time to get any information on him. He's going to leave soon, and who knows when we'll meet someone that will help us again!?" I said, and realized how much this was honestly bothering.

There was a sudden silence in the room, and as Jason stroked my chest, to calm me down, he said, "I have some questions too...let's go talk to him tomorrow." Looking at the boarded window, I stayed silent, and closed my eyes as I softly nodded and felt Jason's strong arm grip me tightly. I could feel like something was going to happen.

Looks like we had a date with Wandered tomorrow...
