It was morning when Artemis woke up the sunrise was a red haze and the yellow cloud was less than a mile away. It seemed to glow in the light from the sun. It lied upon the air like a mist in the dawn heavy and foreboding a dangerous reminder to the small group that they still weren't safe. Artemis was the first to wake up. He got out of bed and pulled away from his sleeping wolf and stepped outside looking at the sky. Artemis, a little worried he awoke the other group members. "Guys you'd better come out. It looks like we don't have much time left" He told Feedback shaking him awake. Feedback rolled over and woke blinking in the bright light and taking in the glory of a new day. Normally sounds of birds would fill the air or the sounds of children playing would Hassall him from his apartment. It was strange to wake to the unsteady still silence that hung ominously about them. Yawning he stood and stretched. "Ahhhhhhhhh..... What do you mean Artemis?" Groggily he looked over at the others blushing as he thought of the previous night's events. "How did you two sleep?" "Well we didn't get much sleep hearing... "Oooh Artemis."...all night long." Foxtrott said with a giggle. The wolf blushed a bright red trying to hide his face. "Really? I didn't know I was that loud.....was I?" The tiger grinned showing his sharp white teeth. "sorry guys.....I got carried away myself but I don't think that we have the time to hang around much longer. "Foxtrott and Rex both got up from their beds with a giggle and put on their pants, shirts and armor on smiling. Feedback looked over and, sensed his friends were pretty embarrassed about the whole thing. "Hey, it's not bad i thought it was kind of cute. Don't worry I'm glad you guys are happy togeather really, you make a good couple." He said smiling. "Right back at cha" Feedback said smiling. "I'm so glad we're all in this togeather and, that we've got wachother's backs. i don't think I'd have the will to survive if it was just me alone." Artemis purred as he slipped on his leather coat and his knives into their place along his frint and unter hus palms. "I couldn't agree with you more love." Rex hesitated putting his armor on. " Remember what that fog does it's a kill on contact type-of-thing. W e need to find a haxmat suit around here somewhare if we wanna make out alive." He said scanning the area."Right... extras would be good also incase incase one of them gets damaged." The wold said shivering in fear and shething his longsword along his back. "Can't be too carefull." Artemis said agreeing. Foxtrott walked over to one of the bodied they had killed earlier and poked a circular plate on the human's stomache. "Guys look i think this is how they ambushed us. they have some wired cyborg thingy." He said, twisting it. With a pop the disk popped off.

"Hmh that's wired I think I know what to do now, everyone ... Erm go srip down." Foxtrott began to unzip his jeanes. "No not here don't go any further I mean in the tent." Rex said trying to keep a straight face. Artemis chuckled good-naturedly stripping one of the other corpses. "The tent would be best pal......but, before you do anything give them to me and I can wash them if you'd like." Feedback grimaced at the thought. "Why those no good.....sneaky.....damn them!" Angrily he padded over and, started slipping off the clothing of a fourth soldier, growling low under his breath. Foxtrott looted 2 more discs before handing them to Artemis, accidently pushing the middle. The metal plate transformed into a full body armor suit. "Whoa damn, look at these things. Looks like Frost didn't want us to get hurt." He chuckled sarcastically." The group all laughed a bit and smiled putting the plates down to the ground in front of the campsite and preparing the weapons. Foxtrott took out his weapons and Rex, Feedback, and Artemis, did the same. One by one

They went in and out fully encased in an armor suit looking like modern day knights. The metal-like material was strong like metal only flexible like plastic. When everyone was done they gathered what they could carry. Taking the tents with them and slugging a bag over their shoulders. "This is a pleasant surprise!!! I thought that these would be heavy and uncomfortable as hell but they actually fit great don't they" Feedback said swinging his arms experimentally around above his head? "Huh, well how would those humans run around so fast in a metal suit because it's not metal!" Foxtrott yelled excitedly. "Yes...yes this is quite something I'll give Frost that" Artemis agreed grudgingly. "I don't care that much for the head gear though. "We all look the same." Foxtrott whined looking at everyone suddenly and pulled out a marker and scribbled "Foxtrott" on his chest. "Should we all write our names on our armor?" Artemis growled. Foxtrott threw the marker to Rex. His handwriting was neat and readable. Rex handed it off to feedback and from there to Artemis who put it back in the possession of Foxtrott. Mmmh don't i look sexy Foxtrott laughed posing in the plated suit while walking backwards and falling over a stick clumsily. The wolf smiled and giggled at Foxtrott's display. "Ha-ha ya do look sexy buddy." Foxtrott looked over to Rex and purred a bit Mmmh you look sexy too he said Feeling him up. "Hey Hey guys we have company here let's try to pretend were not sex crazed perverts." Rex giggled. Artemis sighed. "Okay...okay.....but I was just getting warmed up. It's too bad we couldn't find a quiet place and joke and party" The cat said grimly. The four stopped at the yellow cloud staring into the poisons abyss. Foxtrott started getting annoyed standing around. "How the hell am I supposed to see anything in this? I mean this piece of crap has to have some kind of thermal sights o-." The mask interrupted him and with a mechanical voice it started talking. Thermal sights activated." Making the gas cloud vanish. "Whoa, Aww man these things are awesome! No matter how much I hate him I gotta give Frost credit for this!" He said excitedly.

Feedback drew his sword as they walked in the thick fog, all of them whimpering in their suit and jumping at each sound. "T...these things are awesome. Still I don't like this at all. Nothing for miles around that hasn't been completely destroyed by this stuff it's creeping me the hell out." Foxtrott said looking around amazed by the horrible sight that they had come upon. The stillness where anything or anyone could just pop out of anywhere was enough to put their battle-hardened courage to the test. "Guys you've got to say "Thermal on." It's the only way you can see here. I can't see any fog anymore really it's amazing in here though, it scares the hell out of me." He said staring at massive yellow roots that had grown up the sides of buildings and in-between the cracks. The sun was completely blocked out and, All that was there was the four furrs of so they thought."

"Thermal on." Artemis growled softly and was stunned when everything became clear to his vision revealing the others and their surroundings. "Oh my god!!! This is terrible." Rex said it in a growl along with Feedback who gasped ad the horrific scene. The nightmare on Earth became clear to Rex. Staring around he was horrified at what he saw. "The whole town had been wiped out!" He said, suddenly he heard a noise witch made him jump "Oh, shit what was that!?" He said clenching his weapons closely.

"I...I don't know but whatever it is it's getting louder." Artemis said staying back to back with Feedback and the others, His eyes roving the rooftops and the remains of the abandoned neighborhoods for any hint of movement.

Rex heard a growl and screamed out in horror, seeing what appeared to use to be a wolf, charging at them, It's eyes glowing a bright orange and It's teeth black spines were growing from its body and, tentacles were protruding from random wounds from its back and legs. "Oh my god, what the fuck is that?!" Foxtrott screamed, completely terrified by the beast only half his size.

Feedback shivered in disbelief as it neared them at an insane pace. "It's ugly as sin whatever it is or.....whatever or whoever it was. Get ready to take it down the second it gets close guys." Artemis prepared himself to pounce crouching down low and swinging his tail from side to side. "Do you want me to take this one guys? I think I can make quick work of him." Artemis growled.

"That's alright I have this" Rex said swinging his weapons in the air the beast pounced on him or at least tried but Rex caught it in mid-air taking off one of its legs. The monster whimpered as a yellowish tentacle emerged from it and spines grew from it's slithery appendage Lashing out at him. Rex threw the machete and missed taking the other in his hand he looked down the length of it and tossed the blade. It spun quickly in the air between the two. Finally reached its target and sunk itself deep into the monster's skull. With a sickening thud and a spray of blue mist the creature instantly died after hitting the ground face first sinking the blade deeper into it. The four crowded around the corpse lying in a puddle of abnormally colored blood. Rex picked up the sword that missed and moved to the victim of his wrath. He pulled the weapon from its body. The machete was dripping with the strange liquid. Rex stood frozen and shocked at the power of the infection and what it could do to something.

Rex stammered an incomprehensible gibberish speaking in fear still shocked at what just happened. "Well should we keep walking?" He finally spoke in an understandably and started forward not waiting for a reply from the group seeing them follow answered the question "So where do you suggest we go?" Feedback asked swiping his tail. "Is there anywhere we'd be safe?" He added. "In this place, no I think not." Rex said honestly. "What do we do now" Foxtrott Asked. Stopped feeling a light change in air pressure.

All of the sudden a great rumbling came. "What the hell is that?" He screamed and stepped back looking at a dust cloud emerging from the ground.

Feedback gripped his sword harder getting into a stance and breathing quicker preparing himself for whatever it was. "Get ready!!!!" Artemis spread his knives wide roaring low in his throat. The dust cleared revealing a shadowy figure with golden-orange eyes but they did not seem immediately threatening like the monster they had killed before. A Shadowy figure of a knight carrying a sword and, wearing a cape. He was in full armor something from the thirteen hundreds possibly. It stood with tremendous stature and a regale appearance. "I am Deemontei." He added in more after saying this. "I am the World Shifter living in the underworld for eons. Your race has disturbed me from my eternal slumber you now speak your names and if your cause is worthy I shall let you pass." It said in a deep booming voice.

"What the..........hell!!! Didn't we kill this creature already?" Artemis shook at the towering humanoid before them staring unbelievingly at it. It stood up revealing its height to them standing more than thirty feet high looking down on them its eyes narrowing.

"Watch your tongue or I'll rip it out. Now speak your reason for walking on this land."

"We are here to cleanse the world of these vile monsters. They killed everyone well, almost. They turned everyone into monsters even my greatest nightmares don't compare to. They shall pay for their destruction of my world." Rex growled sheathing his weapons. "So you are warriors is that so. Well, killing them off one by one will do you nothing. You must kill the root of the evil, the Necromancers causing the plague you have awakened."

Cocking his head to one side Feedback, puzzled and confused at the words Deemontei had spoken. "So, what does that mean? What does it mean for the world? And why do you have to speak in cryptic riddles?"

"It means these monsters will die or you will die." Deemontei said sheathing It's weapon as well.

"So where is this root of evil? How do we find it and destroy it?" the tiger asked?

"The spores of the monsters were locked in a tomb far, far; underground and somehow they were opened." Rex growled and interrupted yelling out in anger and hatred. "Frost! Damn it this all makes sense. Frost must have uncovered a tomb. That is why the soldiers found him at the bottom of the ocean in Mariana's Trench. That's why it was so deep underground because Frost found the tomb!!" "Precisely" Deemontei said confirming Rex's theory. "The root is the necromancers themselves. You need to kill them to bring peace and serenity back to your world. Mortal weapons will do no damage to these creatures. They are from a different realm. Only the sacred swords can kill them." Deemontei pointed out to an alter with 16 swords laying there each glowing orange the same shade as his eyes.
