Wonderland or Never land?
You know those couples that just shouldn't work? Those couples that seem so very out of the ordinary, that you just can't seem to understand how in the world it works? Well, this is my story. And it's a dozy, let me tell you. My name is Oliver, and I am a six foot reticulated python. But that's not all I am. I'm in love.
Yes, love. This cold blooded snake has fallen for someone. Although, many say... not the right someone.
You see, I fell in love with a white rabbit.
I don't know how really, it just sort of happened. We met over by the lettuce fields, when I came across her hole.
Thinking it was abandoned, I decided to have a look see. That's when I saw her.
Her silky white fur soiled slightly with dirt, her ears pinned back to keep from brushing against the top of the cavern. I couldn't help myself. I slithered my way into the light to introduce myself.
She ran away.
Of course. What else would she have done? A large snake inside a rabbit's hole.
"Sigh" I hiss softly, oiling my long body around a rock. I wait for her to return.
She does eventually, her eyes wild with fear.
"wh- what do you want?" Her small voice whispers. My insides bubble up with joy at the sound coming from her lips.
"Simply to talk, love." I say, and then mentally bite my tongue for letting that last work slip out.
The small white rabbit sits back on her powerful hind legs and stares at me "I'm Ley." Her voice has become brave now.
I can't help but smile "Oliver." I keep my voice calm "charmed."
Ley's eyes never leave mine "why did you follow me down here?"
I laugh softly "to talk, my dear. Do not fret, I have no intentions of harming you at all." And that was the truth. I couldn't think of hurting someone so beautiful.
After a few hours of talking, I'd got her laughing. A few days, and I got her to lay with me... a week, and she's mine.
So once again I state, have you ever seen those couples that make no sense at all?
Well, we are that couple. And we're proud of it.
"Oliver, who are you talking to?"
