Chapter Two,

September 23rd 1979 Maydan Shahr command post

Off in the distance, away in the hills came the sound of gunfire and explosions. Just audible was the scream of jet engines, always followed by more explosions. Soon the sound changed, each explosion being preceded by a long whistle. Artillery fire.

Tasha tried not to make any noise, but she couldn't stop herself. Despite covering her muzzle with her paw, her sob still escaped. She felt Lakita move beside her as she tried to hold in more sobs.

"Tasha? What's wrong hunny? Is it the explosions?" The skunk whispered to her.

"N...nothings wrong." Tasha lied through a sniff. "The sound of fighting woke me up is all." Lakita leant forward and held onto her fox.

"What's wrong Tasha?"

"I don't know...I felt fine before going to sleep...but I woke up and cant stop crying."

Lakita began to stroke Tasha's naked belly with one paw, whilst another began to finger a small wooden pendant Tasha always wore round her neck.

"What are you thinking about?"

Tasha sniffed again. "I don't know...everything...the body I guess. The thought that you might end up like that..."

"I never will fluff ball."

"No...you say that...but you don't know it. You don't know you wont die..."

"Aren't you scared for yourself?" Whispered Lakita. Tasha shook her head.

"Not nearly as much...last night I was...but now I've realised that it would be worse if it happened to you..."

Lakita smiled softly to herself. "Well your right, I cant promise you I wont die...but I can promise you that for you...I'll do me best not to. Either way...we wont know until it happens, so you shouldn't worry about it now. Right now, just be happy that we're in each others arms. That's all that matters right now to us, you and me together. All you need to worry about right now is being the best pillow you can." Tasha sighed softly.

"I love you for always ending on a bad joke Lakita." Tasha whispered to her. "They make me feel so much better than a good one."

"I've an endless supply demon, any time you need one."

*

Lakita lay awake. After about half an hour of stroking her belly Tasha had finally drifted back off to sleep, but Lakita couldn't follow her. Now it was her turn to reflect. But her thoughts were not unhappy ones, she was thinking back to when she had met Tasha, the moment that changed her life for the better, and hopefully for ever.

It had been almost two years earlier, Tasha was newly out of basic training and just beginning her training as a driver of armoured personnel carriers in an all female regiment at a base near Kazan. Lakita, who had started off as a driver before being promoted to a commander was her instructor.

To say that Tasha found the military difficult was an understatement, and Lakita often wandered why she had joined at all. She had once asked her, but the vixen was very reluctant to discuss it, so Lakita let the matter drop. Tasha's problem in the military was that she was far too sensitive, and that made her very fearful of recrimination, which made her make mistakes a lot. This was immediately obvious to Lakita, and at times the vixen made sufficiently large errors that technically Lakita should not have passed her, but the truth was, the skunk was smitten on sight, and couldn't bear to lose her young fox, so she kept on helping Tasha to improve, and helping her pass by the skin of her teeth.

At first however, her affections were not returned, Tasha didn't see a beautiful young skunk, she saw her commanding officer and her instructor, and in the foxes mind, potentially as such, the harbinger of doom. Lakita often tried to subtly hint at her feelings for Tasha, but Tasha always missed them, or if she did see them, she dismissed it as absurd, as if a successful career officer would have anything to do with her. Eventually Lakita decided to take a more direct approach. Until then most of the driver training had been about formation driving, constant convoys along the roads. Now however the training moved to the single off road phase. Perfect for Lakita to seduce the object of her desires.

They were training in an old BTR-152 six wheeled APC. As late as 1977 the BTR-60 was still equipping some front line regiments and had thus yet to be relegated to training duties.

By this point Tasha had gotten to know Lakita, and knew the skunk was gentle and only wanted to help her, so when in the skunks presence alone Tasha felt reasonably relaxed, which improved her performance no end. The BTR-152 was travelling along a dirt track through the forest near Kazan, heading towards the off road training course, although the dirt track was bumpy enough for Tasha's liking.

"Just a few more kilometres until the fun starts." Lakita said to her student, who concentrating hard on keeping the shuddering vehicle on the road.

"Yes sir." The vixen replied. Lakita rolled her eyes.

"I've told you before Tasha, you can call me Lakita when no one else is around."

"Yes sir." Tasha replied. Lakita slumped back in her seat exasperated.

"Okay tell you what Tasha." Lakita said. "I'm ordering you to call me Lakita when no ones around."

Tasha took her eyes off the road for a moment to look at Lakita. "Why?"

"Because I want us to be friends."

"Why?"

"Jesus your gonna be alone for ever if you ask people things like that." Lakita sighed. "Because I like you, that's why."

Tasha concentrated again on the road. "Uhm...okay. Is this the turning here?"

"This is it." Lakita nodded. "Now remember, this is your first run, so there is no pressure, we're just here to let you get a feel for the course and off road driving in general, so take it easy, don't try anything your uncomfortable with, and remember we don't have to be back till eighteen hundred. Nervous?"

Tasha nodded. "A bit."

"Well you don't need to be, like I said, no pressure and any mistakes stay between you and me. Now, head Northwest to a hill four kilometres away."

Tasha nodded again and the BTR swung to the right and off the path through a parting in the trees. Immediately the ride got a lot more bumpy as they bounced along the grass and mud. Brown splatters began to appear on the side. As they hit a particularly large dip both furs lost their belly then almost hit their heads on the roof as they came back up. To Lakita's massive surprise Tasha was actually laughing.

"Now that's something I never thought I'd see!" Beamed Lakita.

"What is?" Asked Tasha.

"You laughing. I've only ever seen you look serious and flinch before. You have a personality after all!"

"Sorry sir, I cant help it...its just more fun than I expected."

"For fucks sake!" Exclaimed Lakita. "LAKITA! LA KI TA! Not friggin sir, and I was not complaining, I'm happy to see you smile for once."

Tasha smiled again as the BTR reached the hill base of the hill. Looking in the mirrors Lakita was satisfied.

"All right, that's far enough, stop here and kill the engine."

Tasha did as she was told and the vehicle came to a halt. The fox looked at her instructor, wandering what was going on.

"Why have we stopped here?" She asked. The skunk just grinned wickedly back.

"Uh...what's going on?" The fox asked nervously.

"This is another lesson." Lakita purred at her.

"What sort of lesson?"

"Well you've not been particularly receptive to certain hints I've been dropping darling..."

Tasha began to look around for some way of escape, clearly her instructor had gone mad.

"So I thought I'd spell it out to you..." Lakita continued. "Don't look so scared Tasha, I'm not going to hurt you, in fact I intend just the opposite..."

"S...spell what out too me?"

"I...love...you..."

"Why?"

This threw the skunk. "Why? What do you mean why? Because I do. I've been trying to tell you for weeks."

"But you cant!" Cried Tasha. "You're a sergeant!"

Lakita sighed. "So of course that means I'm a block of stone who feels nothing. I'm a fur Tasha, same as you, same feelings...and right now I'm praying to gods I don't believe in that those feelings are possibly returned?"

This was a lot for Tasha to take in, she'd never seen her sergeant as just a fur before...all she'd ever seen we're the rank insignia on her shoulder boards...it had truly never occurred to her that Lakita could even feel love.

"Your asking...if I love you?" She asked hesitantly.

"Well maybe not if you love me...that's a bit much, but if your attracted to me."

Tasha looked at Lakita, taking care to actually look at her face, not her uniform. She had to admit, she was stunningly beautiful...and she had big tits..."

"Yes...I guess I am..."

Lakita let out a sigh of relief. "Thank god...so does that mean you wouldn't be adverse to a relationship?"

Tasha thought hard...Lakita probably was the nicest person she knew, she had been patient with her mistakes, unlike others who just shouted at her without trying to help her correct them...Lakita had taken time to guide her in the right direction, to help her boost her confidence enough to stop making mistakes. She had to admit...she did really like her.

"I guess not..."

"Good...now we're parked a long way from the road...and no one else is scheduled to use the course today...can you guess where I'm taking this?" Asked Lakita, the wicked grin returning.

Tasha smiled shyly. "I can...but I've never done this before..."

"Like I said darling...its training. And as I said before, you don't have to do anything your uncomfortable with...and you have as long as you like."

With that the two furs exited the vehicle, Lakita grabbed Tasha's paw and led her into the trees.

The change in Tasha after that was phenomenal. The term, coming out of her shell was an understatement. She had found love, and more importantly, someone in the military who cared about her. Almost immediately Tasha stopped needing Lakita's help to pass assessments, Lakita's faith in the vixen was enough to help her pass on her own, it gave her belief in herself, the one thing she had truly lacked from the beginning.

Eventually Tasha passed the training course and immediately Lakita requested her as her driver back on active duty. This struck no one as odd as it was obvious the two were friends, and having crews that were friends and knew each other well was highly encouraged in the Soviet military. Fortunately this preference ensured that the two furs could expect to be together for the rest of their military service. This of course suited them both perfectly. Over the months of Tasha's training they had fallen deeply in love, and to each, the other had become the most important thing in their lives. Lakita even went as far as deciding that if Tasha ever didn't make it in the army, she would leave with her, where one went, the other was committed to follow.

For two years they were based at Saratov together, participating in excersises and once being deployed on UN peace keeping duty to Africa. This assignment moved Tasha more than she expected. The sense of pride she felt doing peace keeping work was immense, she never felt better than having Lakita at her side, sitting on top of their bright white BTR-60 talking to locals who had come to collect food aid protected by them. A young fennec girl, maybe about 12 years old had come up to them first, just curios about the group of strangers and their vehicle. Tasha immediately took a shine to this girl and for three hours they talked together, about their respective lives, their respective hardships and their respective hopes. Tasha felt that maybe she had helped make that girls hopes more attainable. She hoped that she had given the girl a future.

The girl had given Tasha her necklace, a simple piece of string dyed purple, and attached to it a wooden pendant with what looked like to Tasha like a devil carved onto its surface. In return Tasha had given the girl the metal Komsomol badge off her jacket, she had pinned it to her skirt as she wore nothing on her upper half, and then their gunner at that time had taken a photograph of Tasha, the girl and Lakita sitting on the roof of the BTR. As far as Lakita was aware Tasha still carried that photo everywhere, and of course she always wore the devil pendant along with her dog tags. That's why Lakita often called her "Demon".

Lakita smiled at the memory and felt a tear come to her eye. Never again had Tasha looked as happy as in Africa...so latterly Lakita had requested transfers to any units involved in long term peacekeeping duties with the UN. The request had just been accepted, and they were awaiting transfer to a unit in Central America, and Tasha had been so excited...when the Mujaheeden overthrew the Afghan government...and the wheels of war were set in motion.

"What are you thinking about Lakita?"

Lakita was startled out of her reflections by Tasha's question. She looked to the vixen who was lying on her side facing her.

"How long have you been awake?"

"About an hour...you've been deep in thought that whole time." Tasha whispered. "Its almost dawn."

"It is?" Lakita had no idea she'd been reminiscing for so long. "I was just thinking of how we met, and Africa."

"I think of Africa a lot too..." Tasha sighed. "You know I never thought to ask that girls name? How stupid was that?"

"Quite." Lakita agreed. "But you'd never be able to find her again, even if you had"

"I guess." Tasha said as she rolled over onto her back. "Think when we're done here we'll still get to go to Central America?"

"I hope so...I've never seen you look happier than when talking to those villagers in Africa...I hope it will be like that in America..."

"Me too...I wish I could work for the UN all the time..."

Lakita laughed softly. "Yeah...those cute blue helmets suited you...Anyway...we'd better get our furry butts moving...the suns coming up and I'm sure those BMD guys are getting bored waiting to be picked up."

Tasha sighed. "I guess. Wish we had time for a quickie though."

"Well if your very good we'll have one tonight." Lakita promised. She was about to sit up when Tasha's paw stopped her.

"Not a quickie, a longie." She whispered. Lakita couldn't help but laugh.

An hour later and White 31 was making its way South East on the long drive to rescue the three stranded soldiers.

"Command was in touch with them this morning." Lakita explained. "They got through the night without any problems, so with any luck there should be three complete soldiers to rescue."

"With any luck." Tasha concurred.

"Now, according to the command post, there has been no reported enemy activity anywhere between here and them." Lakita continued, looking at the map. "So this should be a relatively boring four hour drive. I'm sure much to the disappointment of our action hero's back there." She jabbed her thumb in the direction of the troop compartment.

"Again, with any luck." Agreed Tasha. "So where do we take them once we've got them?"

"Not far, Mi-24's should be arriving in Kabul right now, and the only reason they don't go in now is that the valley where the BMD is too steep and narrow to land in, so we just need to evacuate them to flatter ground and wait for the helicopter to come in."

"Then what?" Tasha asked.

"Don't know for sure, but command said we might be off doing inspections on villages, you know, just check them out for Mujaheedin activity. Nothing too scary."

Tasha smiled. "Sounds good to me."

For several more hours they continued along the winding valley road, if it had been a straight path they probably could have reached the stranded soldiers in a hour, however the terrain was far too mountainous for that, so they had to stick to the snaking valley floor. The inside of White 31 was getting noisy as the air conditioning had to work at full power to keep the inside cool. Even with fans mounted near the windshield, Tasha and Lakita were beginning to feel the heat. Soon however their mind was taken off the uncomfortable temperature.

"Whoa...Tasha take a look to the right, is that an old fort up on that hill?" Lakita asked, pointing out the windshield. Tasha, with a better view to the right looked at where Lakita was pointing.

"I don't think so...its old...it might be a Buddhist temple..."

"Fuck what it was built as...what it is a good ambush position. I'm taking the gunners position, close the shutters."

"Okay." Tasha practically squeaked as Lakita undid her harness and took the position in the turret. The shutters closed and the periscope viewers descended from the roof.

"What should I do?" The fox asked. "Should I stop?"

"Are you kidding demon?!" Lakita tried not to snap back, upsetting their driver was the last thing they needed. "Keep going, faster if you can until that forts out of si..."

Just then something banged off the hull, closely followed by three more bangs.

"Gunshots!" Shouted Lakita. She switched on the intercom to the troop compartment.. "Gunshots, Starboard side, get those gun ports open!" Lakita rotated the turret to where she thought the gunshots came from. Sure enough, even in the bright sunlight she could see muzzle flashes coming from the fort. As she took aim with the BTR's 14mm main gun, the vehicles gun ports rotated open and four Ak-74's fired back at the fort. Lakita opened fire and strafed the fort with gunfire. The incoming fire stopped as the enemy took cover.

"Lakita! Their coming down the mountain!" Tasha shouted. Her voice defiantly had an edge of panic to it.

"Stay calm Tash!" Lakita called as she rotated the turret to the left and saw about ten furs scrambling down the hill, trying to block off the road. She took aim and let of a burst of bullets into the group. Quite to everyone's surprise there was a large explosion that sent all ten enemy furs flying.

"Shit!" Lakita exclaimed. "I must have hit a grenade..."

"Still more!" Called Tasha. Sure enough another group of ten was scrabbling down the hill. Suddenly the BTR screeched to a halt.

"What the fuck are you doing Tasha!" Lakita yelled, for the moment not concerned with spooking the fox.

"They mined the road!" Tasha cried back. Lakita turned the turret dead ahead and peered through the scope.

"I cant see anything!" She called.

"I don't care!" Tasha snapped back. "I can...they have defiantly mined the road!"

"All right all right! I believe you!" Lakita said...sit tight we'll take out these bastards first.

With that White 31's turret opened fire on the second group, but by this time they had managed to take cover behind a clump of rocks and Lakita could not get a good shot.

"All right Tash," she called to her fox, "Try and angle us side on, let the troops get a shot at them."

The frightened vixen nodded to no one in particular and reverse turned the BTR-70 90 degrees to the left so it sat side on to their enemies. Immediately the soldiers manning the port gun ports opened fire, but to no effect, the enemy were well shielded by the rocks.

When the soldiers stopped firing to reload one of the mujaheedin threw a grenade, fortunately it fell short of White 31 by about six meters, still the whole vehicle rocked when it detonated, debris raining down noisily onto the roof. Tasha didn't like this, side on she could barley see what was going on, and she couldn't do anything to help.

"Lakita...shouldn't we back up?" She called out hopefully.

"No! We need to get through!"

"But you promised me you'd stay safe!" The fox cried out in despair.

"Tasha!" Lakita shouted angrily. "This is not the fucking time for this!"

"But!"

"Shut up!" Lakita yelled as she concentrated on keeping the mujaheedin suppressed with the main gun, hoping they would run out of ammo before she and her troops did.

For another ten minutes the battle raged on, neither side actually able to hit the other. The mujahedins Ak-47's totally ineffective against the BTR-70's armour, and even the main gun of White 31 ineffective against the solid rock that the mujaheedin were hiding behind. Throughout Tasha sat helpless and useless, trying not to whimper to herself. She was just considering backing them up out of the battle despite Lakita's orders when a voice came over the radio.

Mi-24 Yellow 23, BTR-70 White 31, We can see flashes near your location, what is your status? Over"

Tasha almost squealed in relief as she jabbed at the transmit button.

"White 31, Yellow 23, we're under attack, the road ahead is mined and Mujaheedin are firing on us from ahead and from a fort to the West, we cant get a good shot back! Over!".

"Yellow 23, White 31, understood, we'll be in firing position in less than 30 seconds. Over"

True to their word a massive explosion tore the boulders and the mujaheedin fighters apart, seconds later two Mi-24 assault helicopters screamed over their heads, well below the valley top. All inside White 31 watched in relief as the two helicopters veered to their right and let loose another volley of rockets into the fort, effectively silencing it.

Lakita slumped to the floor, totally drained from the ten minute skirmish, before calling to her vixen.

"Tasha, get back on the radio and tell those helicopter crews I love them!"

Tasha laughed partly in relief and partly with humour. "Will do."

She flipped the transmit button again. "White 31, Yellow 23, We're clear, I have orders to convey a message of sincere love from our commander. Over"

The radio buzzed for a second before a voice came back. "Yellow 23, White 31, Understood, we all look forward to the flowers. We'll see you at the rendezvous. Over and out."

"Well?" Called Lakita. "What did they say?"

"They said they looked forward to the flowers...I think that was the helicopters assigned to pick up the BMD crew from us."

"Guardian angels." Lakita sighed. "Its nice having Mi-24's covering your backside. All right," She called, now to the troop compartment, "Who's our demo guy? There are mines to disarm." She slid back into her seat next to Tasha and looked her in the eye. "At least...there better be."

Tasha sat on the front of White 31 with her arms crossed over her legs, and her head slumped forward on her arms. She looked utterly dejected. Once again Lakita sat down next to her, fanning her thick tail out to her side.

"The troops are up checking the fort, but I doubt they will find much."

Silence.

"We were sure lucky those Mi-24 were so close huh?"

More silence. Lakita sneaked her arm around Tasha's back, and from the side squeezed her breast. To her considerable surprise, Tasha pushed her paw away.

"Have I don't something wrong Tasha?" Lakita asked.

"You didn't believe me."

"Didn't believe what?"

"That there were mines...but there were."

"Oh for fucks sake." Lakita exclaimed. "If I didn't believe you would I have let you stop?"

"Well you had to be sure didn't you?" Tasha replied. "But you didn't actually believe for sure that there were mines."

"Well I couldn't see any."

"But I could." Tasha protested, her hand on her chest. "And I told you I could...why wasn't that enough for you?"

"Tasha..." Lakita sighed. "This is silly...I cant believe your angry with me over this."

"Its not just that...you shouted at me." Tasha turned her head and looked at the ground, swinging her feet, her heels bumping against 31's front hull. Her tail twitched between her legs from side to side.

"That's what this is about?" Lakita asked quietly. "Your pissed off because in the middle of a life and death situation I lost patience with you?"

"I guess." Tasha mumbled.

"Okay Tasha...your gonna hate me for this...but this has to be said."

"What?"

Lakita sighed again, she really didn't want to do this but Tasha was on the verge of becoming a problem.

"The fact is Tash...I've been over protecting you, and it was wrong. Every time you've made a mistake...or over reacted I've cuddled you and said it was okay...and now you think that war is going to be like that."

"But I..." Tasha tried to protest.

"No listen." Lakita interrupted. "Now take yesterday, it was a shock I know, seeing a charred corpse, but any other commander would have told you to pull yourself together and grow up, they wouldn't have cuddled you until you felt better...your going to see horrible things here...and I cant protect you from that...so you need to toughen up...I cant cuddle you and pretend everything will be okay any more...because it might not be."

"You promised to be safe." Tasha mumbled.

"I've heard the men talking you know." Lakita said. Tasha looked at her. "Its true, they are not happy, and you know why?"

Tasha shook her head.

"They are concerned that you will get preferential treatment...they think that if I have to I'll sacrifice them to save you. I don't think they know we're lovers...but they know we're very close...and the thing is..." Lakita leant in close so no one could over hear. "and the thing is...they are exactly right...its wrong I know, but I will sacrifice them to save you if I have to...but I cant afford for them to know that...so I'm asking you...try to depend on me less...at least in public...in private I'll hold you and tell you everything's okay...but I'm your CO and I cant afford to do that any more in public...I'm already gonna be facing questions as to why I aint reprimanding you for questioning my orders back there."

A tear came to Tasha's eye. She nodded.

"I'm sorry...I've been selfish..."

"You didn't mean it...you only wanted me to be okay...but can you do this for me? Only in public...when we're alone I'll yiff you twice as hard to make up for it, and when this is all over I'll cuddle you forever." She stopped and placed her hand on Tasha's shoulder. "The other thing is I need to you to not take it personally if things get a bit heated in battle...I'm a million miles from perfect and I make mistakes too, like shouting at my lover when stressed, so help me out...I need you to follow my orders and not question me."

"I'll try my best." Tasha promised with a whisper.

"Good girl." Lakita smiled. "I know what your best is, even if you don't, and its good enough for me." Lakita pulled Tasha close. "Things are gonna be hard...but we'll see it through. And look at me...I just two moments ago gave you a lecture on how you need to toughen up...and I'm cuddling you again...your infectious demon."

Tasha smiled at her skunk. "Would you have me any other way?"

"Probably not. Come on...the troops wont be back for ages...we've got some time to ourselves."

"Where?"

"The backseat...where else?" Asked Lakita innocently.

Lakita lay Tasha on her back along the bench seats in the rear compartment of White 31 and ran her paw over her belly. She began to work the buttons of her combat jacket and soon had it lying open, the white fur of Tasha's front exposed. She lay her face against Tasha and felt the fur against her nose, she enjoyed the slight tickling sensation. She began to lick certain points along the vixens ribcage where she knew her other nipples to be. Like all red foxes Tasha had eight nipples, but only the first two formed actual breasts. The third and forth were on very slight mound that could barely be seen under her fur, and the remaining four lay flat on her torso, normally invisible under her fur. Lakita parted the fur around Tasha's lowest pair to reveal the pink and engorged mummeries and she began to suckle. Tasha moaned loudly, she loved being milked. As Lakita suckled from one nipple she tweaked another with her paws, letting milk dribble out of it and onto her fingers. With her fingers wet with warm vixen milk she raised them to Tasha's muzzle and slid them between her lips.

Tasha sucked gratefully on the fingers, enjoying the taste of her own milk. When she finished sucking them clean Lakita once again squirted milk onto them as she continued to suckle. With her milky fingers she pushed her paw under the top of Tasha's trousers and into her panties, she then used her warm and wet fingers to massage Tasha's waiting slit, getting a gasp of pleasure in return. Lakita slid her fingers into the folds, finding the vixens hard clit and began to tickle it with the tip of her claw. Tasha squeaked and bucked her hips hard, almost throwing Lakita off, in surprise Lakita bit down on Tasha's nipple. Tasha yelped but she enjoyed the pain and soon began to murr.

"Bite me Lakita!" She gasped.

Lakita let go of Tasha's nipple. "What?" She asked with a face dripping with milk.

"Just do it!"

Lakita shrugged her shoulders and went to another nipple and clamped on with her sharp teeth. Tasha grunted at the feeling. Lakita flicked her tongue over the tip and bit down a little harder, all the while she tickled Tasha's clit. The stimulation began to get too much for Tasha, and with a stifled screech she cummed hard, shooting her juices into Lakita's waiting paw. Lakita carefully removed her paw, still holding as much of Tasha's pussy juice as possible, and carefully undid her trousers with her other paw. When her own crotch was exposed, she began to smear the juice over her own pussy. She gasped as she began to pleasure her soaking wet vulva, her fingers making squelching sounds as the rubbed her through a coating of Tasha's juices. As she rubbed herself Lakita waddled up to Tasha's head and placed her crotch directly over her face. When she was in position she sped up her twat fiddling, reaching a furious pace. She stuck her fingers right up into her hole, then pulled them out, making a very loud squelching noise as Tasha's juice splattered out of it. Quickly Lakita reached her peak, she began to moan and soon a terrific orgasm surged through her body. She yelped and sprayed a mixture of her and Tasha's juices all over the spaced out vixens face.

With a sigh she lay down on top of Natasha and licked her face fur clean, stopping periodically to kiss her deeply, sharing their mingled juices.

As the pair lay together in the back of their IFV, Lakita whispered in her lovers ear.

"I'm sorry Tash...I didn't mean it..."

"Mean what?" Murmured Tasha.

"I don't want you to toughen up...I want you to stay exactly as you are. I want everyone to know that I love you and that I'll do anything for you."

"I'll do anything for you too." Tasha whispered back.

The crew of the stranded BMD had gotten excited when the two Mi-24's flew over, they thought they might be rescued there and then, but it was not to be. It was explained to them over the radio that they still needed to wait for the BTR-70 to take them to a safe landing site. That had been an hour ago and the three furs were getting dejected. Just as they were beginning to worry something appeared on the horizon, its shape distorted by the heat haze. All three furs shielded their eyes and peered at the object, and eventually the roughly hexagonal front on shape of a BTR-70 became clear. The three furs began to cheer, finally after thirty eight long hours of being stranded, rescue was at hand.

The BTR pulled up alongside them and the engine died. The two front roof hatches opened and a skunk and a vixen stuck their heads out.

"Sorry we're late!" The female skunk called.

The BMD's commander, a male fox called back, "No problem, seriously we enjoyed sleeping in this tin can!" He motioned towards the damaged BMD-1.

"Glad to hear it." The skunk replied with a laugh. "So you three wanting a lift anywhere perhaps?"

Lakita pulled herself up through the hatch and slid down the hull onto the ground. She walked up to the fox and saluted him.

"Sergeant Lakita Pavelovna." She stated. The fox saluted back.

"Sergeant Ivan Ulianov." He replied. "This is our driver," He said pointing to a young female cat, "Captain Ivanovna. And our gunner," He pointed now to a male Samoyed, "Sergeant Junior grade Kaminski." Lakita shook paws with all three.

"This is our driver, who's being anti social..." Lakita pointed back up to Tasha who had yet to leave the BTR. "Captain Tasha Chernova." Ivan nodded up to her in greeting.

"So..." He said addressing Lakita. "Where's your gunner?"

"Ah...interesting story about that actually." Lakita said as she turned to Kaminski, "He's you. We don't have one so you've been assigned to us. The transfer papers are in the BTR."

"You came all this way without a gunner?" Kaminski asked.

"Yeah." Tasha called from behind them. "And its been a pile of fun, I can tell you."

"Walk in the park really." Lakita contradicted her. "We had some trouble but we're fine. So what's your first name Sergeant Kaminski?"

"Sasha...uh Sergey."

"Don't worry, Sasha's fine with me." Lakita said. "Right...I'm guessing we all want to get moving, Sasha the turret is all yours...Sergeant, Captain, I'm sure our boys in the back will happily squeeze you in between them."

"Our limo awaits." Said Sergeant Ivan Ulianov.

When they were all comfortably...or uncomfortably as in the case of the now overcrowded rear compartment, back in White 31 Tasha started the engine.

"You know this is going to be confusing." Lakita muttered to her.

"What is?"

"Tasha and Sasha..."

"Well call him Sergey then." Tasha suggested.

"How about I call you Nata..."

"No!"

Lakita laughed. Tasha hated her full name.

"How ya doing back there Sahsa?" She called back to the turret. "Hope the lack of big gun aint too emasculating for you."

"I'm sure I'll learn to love this 14 mm!" Sasha called back cheerfully.

"Okay!. Now Tash...the helicopters are waiting for us three kilometres away, due east, through that valley there." She pointed to the appropriate one that branched off the main valley they had been following. "Straight as I'm lesbian." She snickered quietly so only Tasha heard. "So you cant get lost."

"The intercoms switched on!" About nine voices laughed over the headsets.

"Fuck!" Lakita shouted angrily. "Bloody eavesdroppers!" She shouted back at them.

"Don't be embarrassed." Came another voice over the intercom. "We've known about you and the captain for months."

Lakita winced but was relieved to see Tasha was shaking with laughter.

"Well they had to find out sooner or later." She pointed out.

All through the passenger compartment there were peals of laughter whilst Lakita fumed at not only being outed, but having been outed months ago without knowing it. Tasha blew her a kiss to cheer her up as the started up White 31 and they headed off down the valley to the rendezvous.
