Zon: Light of the New Moon Part 2, Ch 2.0
Zion - Light of the New Moon, Part 2 Chapter 2.0
Welcome back to Zion: Light of the New Moon. The first chapter since the milestone has come to a close and it's now time for new event arcs! This means, of course, that it is time for another vote!
Readers may contribute fan art/stories until midnight (PST) on Saturday the 3rd (an extended contribution opportunity because of the delay of this post). The contributions should be linked in comments below. Any contribution may be dedicated to a group (to add +1 Luck or Favor). No Group may benefit from more than 1 Luck and/or 5 Favor via this post for contributions. Contributions may also be credited to a specific character (for +1 experience).
A contributing reader may apply a bonus to their own character a maximum of two times (one picture and one written piece), but may contribute as many as they wish to others. A character may not gain more than 5 experience in this way via this post for contributions. Alternately, a contributing reader may elect to have their contribution add a +1 Willpower instead of +1 Experience. This may be quite useful for some.
The groups will not expend any favor or luck from chapter 1 other than what they were charged for their decisions-- this is past the first milestone after all, and doesn't follow ALL the same guidelines as the first part of our story.
The current breakdown of resources and modifiers are as follows: Bannihar has 5 Luck and 8 Favor. They are at 3 Delay and 0 Danger. Doen has 6 Luck and 7 Favor. They are at 3 Delay and 0 Danger. Myre has 6 Luck and 9 Favor. They are at 2 Delay and 1 Danger. Myrh has 4 Luck and 7 Favor. They are at 3 Delay and 1 Danger. Shrad has 5 Luck and 6 Favor. They are at 1 Delay and 0 Danger.
All readers may now vote for which group they think should receive a bonus Favor point. (This will be on top of any voted bonus the group receives as part of the pay-out on Chapter 1.5). You may vote for any group you like for any reason you like (even your own if you're a Contributing Reader), but only one group will receive the bonus, and you may only vote once (not once per site).
Non-Contributing readers also have the opportunity to vote on the character they think should receive a bonus experience point. Every reader may vote on any group in which they don't have a contributed character. One character per group will receive this bonus, but only if they receive at least 3 votes (this means that a lack of votes won't benefit anyone). All characters receive 5 regardless.
The next set of Event Arcs are now votable again to contribute to the storyline for the various five groups. You may vote for which group gets what Event Arc but, if you are a contributing reader you may NOT place a vote for a group in which you have a character; you may only vote for other groups. The options are as follows:
A Very Wrong Turn All dangers within the Wild Lands are not always obvious. In an attempt to decrease the group's travel time, the travelers have elected to cut through a section of Wild Lands in a more direct route along the meandering Highway which, they come to find, was made that way for a purpose: to avoid these lands! Challenge: Combat Success: - Delay, + Favor, + Treasure Failure: -- Luck, + Delay Story Seeds: + Earth, + New Moon, ++ Wild Modifier: Contributing Readers will be given a series of riddles to solve and their success or failure will provide modifiers to the party's activities this chapter.
The Lawless Wilds Some Wild Landers can survive well enough in the Wild Land that they can make a living being part of it... but there are others, like brigands, who only survive off of the blood, sweat, and tears of others. It's unfortunate that the travelers are about to meet the second kind. Challenge: Combat/Presence Success: + Luck, + Willpower, + Treasure Failure: - Luck, - Willpower, - Treasure Story Seeds: + Sun, + Earth, ++ New Moon, - Wild Modifier: Decisions as made by the Contributing Readers (along with rolls as made by the characters) will help determine whether this event arc is combat or presence based.
The Unmaking While most Dragon Kin are nowhere near as innately magical as the ancient True Dragons, many of the Wild Land Dragon Kin are still magical in nature and tend to be attracted to powerful magical auras. What happens when the party comes across a group of the creatures attempting to syphon the mana from the divine enchantments protecting the Highway? Challenge: Combat/Presence Success: + Favor, + Willpower, - Danger Failure: - Favor, - Luck, + Danger Story Seeds: + Earth, + New Moon, + Wild, ++ Serpent Modifier: Decisions as made by the Contributing Readers (along with rolls as made by the characters) will help determine whether this event arc is combat or presence based.
Hemorrhaging If it isn't obivous, not everyone in the party is getting along like the happy family they should be. Conflict and disagreements are coming to a head, and it's only a matter of time until someone explodes. Whichever characters are having their issues, this is the time for them to reach the boiling point. Challenge: Presence Success: + Willpower, - Delay, - Danger Failure: -- Willpower, + Delay Story Seeds: - Sun, + Earth, ++ New Moon, - Wild Modifier: This option will focus on somewhere between 2-4 people in the party that gets chosen. If Bannihar is chosen, Elias and Elesin may end up killing one other; if Doen is chosen then Taggart and Haldyn haven't resolved their issues but will do so now in one way or another; if Myre is chosen then Leijh (and possibly others) confront Cornelius; if Myrh is chosen then Artemisia and Anya finally settle their differences; if Shrad is chosen then... well... let's just say it'll be 'interesting'.
RIFT If the party thought that the going has been rough thus far, then they have obviously not seen the "Really Inconvenient Fractured Terrain". The group that gets this event will be forced to contend with some horribly difficult travel. Hopefully they'll have the know-how to survive an ordeal that requires more than a powerful sword arm. Challenge: Skill Success: + Willpower, - Delay, Special Failure: ++ Delay, - Luck Story Seeds: - Sun, + Earth, - New Moon, ++ Wild Modifier: Contributing Readers will be given a survival challenge with each chapter. Based on the votes of the contributing readers, characters will receive a bonus or a negative on their skill check rolls.
Left, By the Wayside The party has been looking forward to stopping at a safe and secure location but, unfortunately, that's not about to happen; the Wayside has been abandoned... so will the party be willing to play detectives, or will they just suck it up and stick to the road? Challenge: Skill Success: + Favor, + Luck, + Treasure Failure: -- Luck, - Favor Story Seeds: + Sun, + Earth, ++ New Moon, + Wild Modifier: The direction of this event arc is controlled almost exclusively by the contributing readers. Will they loot the abandoned wayside? Will they try to locate where everyone went? Will they say "to hell with it" and just keep moving? Let's find out!
So now's your chance to vote for what Story Arc should go to which group. If you're not a contributing reader you have even more power-- make use of it! Votes must be posted before midnight (PST) on Friday, December 2nd; contributions may be posted until midnight (PST) on Sunday, December 4th. You are now welcome to ask questions and/or start your contributions!
