(As usual, the dryeena species and the characters are copyrights of Studio PawPrint ™. I give you permission to use any as necessary, as long as I get some credit for the species/characters/concept. This story contains nudity, and a bit of teasing hermaphrodite character to a female one. Please be aware of this before reading, remember, this IS a part of a series, so it's best to read most of it first (or at least skim it^^). One last thing. This story uses the hir/shi format for describing hermaphrodites. If you don't like that, do not scroll down any further, press back now.)
"Why are you waiting?"
"For what?"
"Destiny will not wait for no one."
"What's my destiny?"
"Help me."
"Who are you?"
"No. A better Question is. 'Who are you?'"
"I'm Elizabeth."
"Yes, but who ARE you."
"I'm Elizabeth... wait, what's that mean?"
"We are waiting. Help us."
The blinding darkness that covered the dryeena slowly faded, a screeching noise covering hir ears as shi opened hir eyes to a gust of air. Shi was hundreds of feet in the air, and shi was heading toward the ground. Hir clothing having reappeared on hir as shi fell.
"What the?!" Elizabeth screamed out, crashing toward the ground, hir arms and legs scrambled to somehow keep from crashing. Shi struggled constantly as shi descended, moving closer and closer as the ground snuck up on hir, spiraling faster with each passing second. Hir eyes began to water, praying out that somehow shi'd be safe. On the last available second however, hir wings spread open as shi tumbled, somehow catching air and getting a drift sliding close to the ground as shi moved forward.
Elizabeth peaked out as shi saw the ground float below, a screech of happiness coming from hir maw, hir ears perking as shi flew forward, laughing as shi began to try hir new wings. "This might not be so bad after all!" Elizabeth soon found control of hir wings, heading forward as shi scanned the ground, slowly finding how to control hir altitude and speed.
Shi got cocky however, and soon turned back to see where shi was going, thus crashing into a tree.
"Owww. Who puts a tree in the middle of nowhere like that?" Shi turned to observe the tree, holding hir head, a large bump appearing on it as shi watched it, hir tail twitching behind it, as a faint sound could be heard, though it seemed to come from nowhere at all. Eli perked hir ears, listening out to the sound, catching every noise in the forest for miles around. Shi closed hir eyes, blocking out the faint sunlight that filtered through the leaves to the ground, listening to the wind of the summer season blow through and catch every leave, hir sensitive ears picking up every leaf moving, as well as something else.
"Help. Me." Elizabeth turned around, trying to find the voice, hir intuition telling hir it was somewhere, but shi could not find where exactly.
"Help... Me." Eli sighed, turning to find the tree once again, though, shi felt as if it was watching hir. Shi became very nervous, watching its curve, expecting it to jump up."I'm... I'm not sure I'm able to help... you?" Shi found that hir paw had moved forward without realizing it.
Eli decides to go for it, grabbing hir paw and gripping the tree, closing hir eyes and panting, "You better be doing something." After a few minutes, Eli's eyes open once again, realizing nothing had happened.
"When I said you better be doing something, I did NOT mean photosynthesize!" Shi kicks the tree, hurting hir foot and stumbling back, hopping a few feet backwards before tripping over hir tail, crashing back into another.
Eli looked up at this one, its glare much stronger than the last tree. Shi sighed and
looked at it, before moving a paw up and touching it, as if by instinct. The tree sprung to life, shades of red and white surrounding it, shooting Eli a few feet off as it began to break apart. Its leaves and its branches falling, a brighter and brighter source of light coming out from the center as it continued its transformation. Eli closed hir eyes as shi couldn't watch it dance, beginning to hear a heartbeat from the tree as shi howled out in surprise.
The lights shot off into the sky, arches of leaves swirling around it as a black substance began to inch up the light, disappearing entirely into it as it left the snow white creature on the ground.
Eli looked up in awe as shi saw the gorgeous wolfess standing before hir, a faint memory coming over hir. The wolfess however stood, staring at another black substance covering her, in shock that her fur was tainted the way it is. Eli walked over to her, and slowly picked it up, finding it attached to it, observing it for a bit, shi finally realized what it was.
"Wings." Shi spoke out, smiling at the wolf, "Not something you see every day, nope." The Dryeena helped the wolfess up, but as soon as she was upright, Eli became bright red with color, leaning back against the wall and blushing lightly, "wo... wow."
The wolfess looked down over her naked form and back at the dryeena, her own face bright in color as she stood and watched hir, grabbing her wings and covering her front. She turned back to Eli, and began to speak, "Pervert! She blushed again, then, looking away, "Some girl you are, staring at other's like that."
"Is there something wrong with being lesbian? Besides, I'm not really a girl." Eli spoke, hir ears wilting once again as hir face flushed deeper, watching the wolf's every move.
"Your one sick male if that's the case. Pretending to be a woman, what the hell is wrong with you?" The wolfess soon found control of her new appendages, and used one to slash Eli across hir face."
"I'm... not a guy either." Eli slunk down and watched the wolf's expression turn pale, before taking off hir jacket and giving it to the wolf. "Cover up... we need to head out." Eli continued to walk, the wolf hesitantly following hir.
"Why should I?" She asked, watching Eli slow down, "I was trapped as a tree for god knows how long, I'm reawakened by some sick creature without a gender and I'm pretty sure that you're the one who freed me. How do I know this isn't some trap to rape me again?"
Eli sighed and stopped, the wolfess bumping into hir before shi turned around, "because if you don't, then you have no way back to the family. I didn't rape you; neither did I know you were raped. All I know is that something was calling me and I answered. Now we need to get you back to Miss Rain before anything else, so we can find out why I was sent here to save you."
The wolf continued to follow, her deep blue eyes staring into Eli's rear paws, her mind filled with thoughts over her last memories. She then became very firm in stance and rushed toward Eli, getting closer to hir as she spoke, "Kaila."
"Huh?"
"My Name is Kaila."
"Hello Kaila, I'm Eli." Eli nodded and continued on, using her ears to pick up any signs of intelligent life."
"Nice to meet you Eli. What, exactly are you?"
"I'm a dryeena, a hermaphrodite species of what I think is of dragon decent." As Eli spoke, shi grabbed hir arm and pulled at a scale visible to hir, shi was only thirty percent sure of what shi was, as the wealth of knowledge shi had acquired seemed to have abandoned hir. "All I know is that my species is hidden among the rest of the populous, and I'm supposed to be the one to find them all... or save the world... whatever is more cliché to you."
Kaila began to think, "Does this mean I'm a hidden dryeena?" She suddenly became very interested in the other creature, staring up and down hir body as shi continued to walk, hir eyes glaring deep into Eli's every inch, wanting to know exactly what shi might become.
"I'm not sure," was Eli's response, "According to Miss Rain; you should already be one if you were one of the dryeena."
Kaila nods as they continue to walk, Eli suddenly changing directions as they head through the thicket into a freeway, looking across, they see a tavern. "We can call for a ride there."
Kaila shook her head in disagreement to Eli's words, watching hir wings spread. "You want me to FLY across? Are you crazy? I just got these wings. I don't know how to use them."
"Just try. It's a lot easier than you think." Eli nodded and took off into the air, a bit unstable at first, but shi managed to cross. Kaila began to flap and gain altitude, but she wasn't as stable as Eli, she soon found herself crashing into the ground and staring deep into the dirt, watching as Eli helped her to her feet.
"I guess I should be lucky huh? You saved me, you're helping me and you're able to do so much."
"Luck has nothing to do with it, I'm doing what I think is right, and I'm only doing what I think is possi..." As soon reached that word, shi found hirself lips to lips with the wolfess, who proceeded to take hir in a deep embrace. Eli closed hir eyes and watched as the wolfess worked hir maw, but soon pushing away, murring softly, only half meaning what she next spoke, "I.. I don't think you should do that, you seem to be the morally endowed type... and I'm not sure whatever you follow looks up on homosexuality.
"You're not a female, therefore. It's not gay." Kaila blushed as she took the dryeena's paw in her own, gripping it tight as she soon walked to the door of the tavern, smiling, opening the door and laughing, "let's get going, alright Eli?"
