Light Vs. Dark - Chapter 2
Help Wanted!: I don't like the title of this story. I made it up in a rush just to get the story posted with plans to change it but I've not had any success thinking of one. Anyone out there want to name it?

Chapter 2: City of Angels (Part 1 of 2)
Los Angelas, the city of angels. Not many angels these days. The city is swarming with creatures of darkness and these creatures are out for blood, because of this The Organisation, the leadership of the Daemons, have sent in two specialists to eradicate the dangerous level of demons in the area.
With a shriek a demon turned to dust his slayer, a 5' 6'' woman with pink flowing hair that came down to her lower back. She wore a pink Kimino that was in tatters at the legs so that it did not restrict her movement. Across her face she wore a black bandana, with a a design of cherry blossom trees stitched in pink, that covered her eyes and in her hand she held a Katana. Her name was Sakura, she is a Daemon and one of the best at eradication.
Most would say that being blind is considered a major weakness but it has proven to be useful to her, since she lost her eyesight she relies on sensing the energy of those around her making her especially good at locating demons whether they be hidden from sight or hiding amongst a group of humans. Her sensory perception gives her an edge as it also allows her to sense all around her and not just what is in front of her. Her katana, Senbonzakura holds the spirit of an ancient fallen samurai and is imbuned with mystical powers.
Sakura stood surrounded by possessed humans, their features warped by the demonic entities within them. Two of them charged her from behind but with practised skill Sakura dodged past their attacks and sliced them both in half with a single attack. The demons surrounding her eyed her dangerously, many wary of how strong this woman appeared to be but at the same time their blood lust and hunger for flesh tempting them to attack her.
"This is pathetic." Sakura announced to the crowd of Demons around her. "Is there not one of you powerful enough to at least pose a challenge?"
The Demons around her snarled but didn't move. "Then it's time to end this." Sakura blurred out of sight for a couple of seconds before reappearing where she had stood once again and a moment later the demons around her vanished into dust which was then swept away by the cool evening breeze that swept through the city.
"Pitiful, I was hoping when the organisation had sent us out here there would have been at least one Demon around her strong enough to at least pose a threat." Sakura said aloud.
The moment Sakura had spoken a nearby wall exploded in a shower of rock and dust and several bodies flew through the air before disappearing into dust. From the massive gaping hole in the wall stepped out a giant of a man who stood at 7 feet tall with huge rippling muscles and in a sword in each hand that no ordinary human would be able to lift. Each one looked like a massive sheet of metal that as sharpened on one side and had the ends cut at and angle to form a tip and then hand two massive hilts attached allowing them to be used a swords.
The mans shoulder length unkempt hair ruffled in the breeze as he looked around the area with his one eye, which shined a brilliant blue, the other covered with an eye patch. His outfit consisted of black leather pants and boots and a black tank top that threatened to rip from his bulging muscles. He looked over at Sakura.
"You finished already Sakura?"
"Yes, Kenpachi. It was disappointing." Sakura replied while sheathing her sword into the scabbard at her hip.
"Hahaha! Well I'm sure we will find one sooner or later, there are a lot of demons in this town. I'm sure at least one of them will have reverted. Anyway I've finished clearing the building out, they were like cock roaches, coming outta every nook and cranny. Some of them even literally came out of the wall! Hahaha! So shall we move onto the next area?"
"Yes we..." Sakura stopped speaking as her phone began to ring. Answering it she spoke. "Moshi moshi.*"
*Japanese phone greeting.
"Sakura, we have received a confirmation that there is an organisation of Demons in the city plotting to attack it like we feared."
"I understand. Is the information reliable?"
"Yes, Vincent Valentine found documents confirming this fact a few hours ago in New York. It appears there is a master mind at work organising the Demons. This what we feared may happen someday."
"Very well. Kenpachi and I will remain vigilant and report anything we may find."
"Yes, also there appears to be another group that could cause us problems. They attacked Vincent after he completed his assignment. From what we can tell from Vincent's information is that they are a group that call them selves Grey Knights. They don't seem to belong to any country but seem to go around destroying demonic beings."
"They are only humans, they shouldn't be too much of a problem."
"Apparently there is a group inside the Grey Knights that are not entirely human. Vincent reports state that they had inhuman speed and strength and were also immune to the Gratalis sleeping gas. The one he encountered wielded a large broadsword like a Claymore."
"Course of action?" Sakura asked.
"Do not engage unless nessassary and if possible don't kill them. We don't need to make enemies of them. Their goal appears to be the same as ours but we will monitor them closely for the time being till we determine the next course of action."
"Very well. We will continue on with our original mission and keep an eye out for anything suspcious."
"Good, we will await your next check in at the usual time." The phone went dead and Sakura put her phone away.
"So what's the word Sakura-kun?" Kenpachi asked walking up to her placing his two swords into their holders so they went cross ways across his back with the hilts at his shoulders. The tips of the swords came down to just above his knees.
"Apparently there is a new group hunting Demons about and possibly a Demon trying to mobilise an army."
"Hmm...sounds like fun."
"Yes, yes it does. If there is a Demon trying to mobilise an army I hope he is strong. It has been a long time since I have had a good fight."
"Haha, Sakura. For such a sweet looking thing you've got a surprising hunger for battle. I do so love that about you."
"Hehe......well, a girl has needs you know. Now lets get going. We only have seven hours till sunrise and we still have three more locations to cleanse tonight." Sakura ordered heading towards the street.

With a mighty roar Kenpachi pulled his Harley Davidson up outside a construction site. Sakura climbed off the back of it first and approached the gates which were locked. The site was still in its early stages the structure was still being put up and was currently standing at ten stories high, only the bottom floors had walls started to be built round them. Most of the flooring on each of those floors was simple planks of wood allowing the workers to set down materials and equipment but was only temporary till the main floor was put in. All around the site there were piles of materials and various pieces of equipment and vehicles sitting idle.
"So what's the word Sakura?" Kenpachi asked walking up to stand next to Sakura.
"There are definite Demonic presences here. There are a few up top, most likely sentries but most of them are in the sewers located beneath the construction site. There is also one human guard patrolling the area. Hmm..."
"What's the matter?"
"I thought I sensed something...but it's gone now. What ever it was is at the very edge of my sensory range."
"Demons?"
"No...I'm not sure what it was."
"We will check it out afterwards." Kenpachi said reassuring his companion and then walking up to the gate and ripping the steel chain apart easily and pushing the gate open. Both he and Sakura entered the site and began looking for an entrance to the sewers below.
"HEY! What are you two doing here!? This is private property, if you don't leave right now I'm gonna call the cops!" The security guard shouted at the pair shining his flash light at the pair.
"I apologise." Sakura said before dashing at the man and knocking him out before he could react. "Somethings coming."
"Well then let the fun begin!" Kenpachi smirked drawing one of his swords. "Bring it on you demon scum!" Hearing his taunt eight demon possessed humans leapt from the fourth floor of the building and landed around them. All of them looked barely human any more, each of them were in the final stages of the possession. They all stood at around height of 6 foot 5'' and their arms were longer than the normal humans, their clawed hands were nearly dragging along the ground. All their hair had fallen out and they had sprouted horns and tails and their skin had become sickly grey, their teeth had become razor sharp fangs and their eyes glowed red in the darkness.
"Kenpachi, not the Demons! Something else is coming!"
"Huh? What?" Kenpachi looked at Sakura strangely and then looked toward the gate they had entered from. At the gate stood three females, one blond, one brunette and one ginger haired woman. All of them wore the same skin tight silver out-fit with chrome shoulder pads, armoured boots and capes. All of them had large Claymore swords across their backs that were nearly as tall as they were, one of the woman however had two Claymore swords across her back and was bulging with muscles and her eyes glowed gold instead of silver like the other two. The blond of the group walked forwards leading the way.
"My, my, my. We had been told that a pair of humans had entered the site so we had come to rescue you but it appears that you two are nothing more than a pair of disgusting Demons." The blond one said. As she spoke two of the attacking Demons jumped through the air towards her ready to tear her asunder with their claws but when they were but a few feet away they were sliced in two from head to toe and disappeared in a cloud of black dust, but the most curious thing was that the none of the woman had drawn their swords.
"Hmmm...you're strong." Sakura said smirking. "You drew your sword and killed those two Demons so fast they didn't know what had hit them."
"Oh, you saw that huh? Impressive seeing as how your eyes are blindfolded and that most people can't even see my attack. I am Darleen, member of the Claymores, number 15." The blond replied with a smirk.
"So you guys are Claymores huh? Well you might prove a worthy foe...Kenpachi, you can have the other two, this ones mine." Sakura said and drew her Katana and entered her fighting stance. The Demons that had appeared retreated off into the shadows while both groups had their attention focused on the other.
"Haha, sure thing Sakura." Kenpachi moved away from Sakura and the blond Claymore to allow her room to fight, the other two Claymores moved to follow Kenpachi leaving their companion to fight the pink hair Daemon alone. "Well then ladies, care to tell me your names?"
"Fiona, number 19." The ginger haired Claymore replied drawing her sword.
"The names Zena, number 17. I'm going to enjoy killing you you stinking Demon!" The Brunette growled drawing both of her Swords and her muscles Rippled beneath her skin tight suit.
"I'm not..." Kenpachi began but was cut off as the brunette charged him with surprising speed and swung at him with both her swords. He managed to block them both with his one sword that he had drawn but was surprised at how strong she was. "Impressive strength..." Out of the corner of his eye Kenpachi saw her companion running for his right side, aiming for his legs. He drew his other sword and swung it down stabbing into the ground at the back of his legs blocking the womans attack.
"Not bad Demon, but you can't beat me let alone the two of us!" The Brunette yelled pulling back one of her swords away from his and attempted to slice his head off but Kenpachi spun his body forcing both the woman to jump back to avoid his swords as he did a full spin to come to a stop facing them.
"Oh...looks like I'm going to have to get serious on you ladies." Kenpachi smirked as he stared at his opponents.
"Don't think that you can win Demon!!!" The brunette yelled before charging head first towards Kenpachi both swords poised to strike. The two of them traded blow for blow, Zena trying desperately to overpower him but Kenpachi blocked each blow with his massive swords as if they were nothing which only mad Zena madder and she drew on her power more and more, her body contorting as he muscles grew even more as she attempted to get more power. "DIE!!!"
"ZENA! Calm down, you're approaching your limit!" Fiona yelled as she ran in to join the fight. Zena and Kenpachi locked blades as Zena tried to force a victory but Kenpachi stood strong and smirked at the brunette.
"Come on now baby, is this all you got?" Kenpachi mocked giving her a grin which only made Zena scream in anger and increase her efforts. Fiona attacked from Kenpachi's left hand side swinging her sword downwards at his head. Kenpachi noticed the incoming attack at the last moment and with a burst of strength pushed Zena away sending her sprawling across the ground and he stepped back just as her blade came down narrowly missing his head. Fiona recomposed herself quickly when she realised that she had missed and spun on the spot swing her sword in a large arc but was blocked easily by one of Kenpachi's blade. Looking up she saw the eye patch he wore fall from his face to the ground below, he hadn't completely dodged her attack but all she had managed to do was slice through he string holding the eye patch on his face.
"Now you've gone and done it." Kenpachi growled fiercely opening his left eye. Unlike his other eye which was a normal human eye was blue this one was amber coloured with a slitted pupil, the white of the eye was instead blood red.
"Now...you die!" Slashing upwards with his other sword Kenpachi sliced through a shocked Fiona slicing her right arm clean off, before her arm and sword could fall to the ground Kenpachi kicked her hard on the gut sending her hurtling through the air into a wooden cabin twenty feet away. The force she hit it with caused it to shatter as she flew straight through it before landing hard against a the ground on the other side.
"BASTARD!!!" Zena yelled charging at him and locked swords with him again before breaking off and attacking him fiercely with slash after slash from both of her huge swords. Kenpachi calmly swatted each attack away with his own swords, their exchange lasted a full minute before Kenpachi decided to end it. Now deciding to fight back Kenpachi swung one of his sword downwards at the woman who blocked it with both of her swords but the force of the attack pushed her to her knees but she managed to hold back his sword with her strength.
"Impressive, but I've had enough of this." with one fluid motion Kenpachi slashed upwards with his other sword the same second he pulled back his other sword causing Zena's arms to extend outwards leaving her body exposed as he brought the first sword slicing downwards across her body leaving a bloody gash from her right shoulder down to her left hip. With a bloody cough Zena staggered but remained standing.
"You're a stubborn one aren't you? Tsk...I've tried to be nice about this but if you're gonna..." At that moment Kenpachi was forced to bring up his swords in defence as Fiona brought her sword down towards his head. Taking a couple of steps backwards, her attack catching him off guard Kenpachi growled and regained his footing and looked at the ginger haired Claymore who was not only capable of fighting after kicking her but had also regrown her right arm.
"You girls are just full of surprises ain't cha?" Kenpachi smirked. "Regeneration...so you can grow back your body parts huh?" Looking closely at her arm Kenpachi could see that the arm while being functional was still not fully grown back, her skin was still slowly growing across the exposed muscles and now the womans eyes glowed the same gold colour as the brunettes and not the silver colour they had been previously.
"You might be able to heal your self but what about your friend?" Kenpachi asked nodding in the direction of her companion who was breathing hard and struggling to remain upright on her feet, her swords touching the ground as she was unable to lift them but despite that she was glaring at Kenpachi, hatred radiating off her as her face contorted to be more demon like.
"I...will...kill...you..." Zena snarled through haggard breaths.
"Zena, calm down. You're already at your limit." Fiona said sternly. "Back down before it's too late."
"Kill..........KILL!!!!!!" Zena roared as a blue light encompassed her body as she drew on her power.
"ZENA!!! NO!"
"KIIIILLLL!!!!!!" In an explosion of energy Zena blurred out of existance as she sprinted at Kenpachi who just managed to raise his swords in time to block hers but she struck him with such force he was sent skidding back ten feet.
'Fuck! She's fast, I was barely able to move in time.' Kenpachi thought to himself.
"KIIIIIIIIILLLLLLL!!!!" Once more the blue light increased in intensity and Zena began to change shape...

Sakura and the Claymore known as Darleen readied them selves to fight. Darleen and Sakura standing in their fighting stances their weapons poised, waiting for the fight to begin.
"I hope you can make this interesting, I do so love a challenge." Sakura smirked.
"Oh, don't worry, I'm more than enough to handle the likes of you." Darleen rebuked confidently.
"Well then bring it bitch!"
"Who you calling a bitch Demon scum!?" Darleen ran at Sakura. Sakura calmly parried her attack back stepping as Darleen attacked constantly with slash after slash of he massive sword.
"Not bad, but can block this?" Darleen asked and suddenly her sword arm became a blur, Sakura was forced to jump backwards away from Darleen to stop her self getting cut to ribbons.
"Impressive, but if that's the only trick you've got then this fight is already over." Sakura said calmly raising her sword.
"Oh? This is the only trick I need to beat you. If you want to prove me wrong then bring it you pink haired Demon!"
"Fine then, let me give you a lesson on swordsmanship." Sakura sprinted at Darleen with impressive speed jumping into the air to gracefully land behind the blond and swung her sword in an upwards slash which Darleen barely blocked.
"Not bad, you might just have some promise as a Swordsman."
"Don't mock me!" Darleen snarled her eyes turning gold and bringing her sword down in and over head chop which Sakura blocked going down to one knee from the force, Darleen kept pressing down with her strength making Sakura grunt with the effort of holding her back.
"Now take this!" Darleen yelled making her arm become a blur again. Sakura couldn't move because Darleen kept bringing her sword crashing down against her own with great speed and force but it was moving with such speed it looked like it never stopped pressing against Sakura's sword, the only way you could tell was from the massive gouges that were appearing in the dirt around them and the constant ringing of metal striking metal and the sparks flying from Sakura's katana.
Sakura was being over whelmed, the speed and force of the attacks were greater than they had been and it was only through a combination of skill and luck that she was managing to block all the attacks, although she is blind Sakura is able to sense her opponents energy not just to locate them but how the energy flows through their bodies allowing her to predict how and where they are going to attack. Darleen's attacks were so fast that Sakura was having trouble keeping up. Spotting and opening Sakura rolled to the side before back flipping away to a safe distance.
"Not bad, not bad at all but I'm afraid I've got a job to do so I'm going to have to end this fight now." Sakura said getting to her feet.
"What!? You running away?"
"No, I'm just going to end this fight now."
"Don't make me laugh, you haven't even cut me yet."
"He-he-he."
"What's so funny?"
"Oh nothing, I just remembered how arrogant you humans can be. Now then lets begin." Raising her sword Darleen did the same in response.
"Scatter, Senbonzakura." Sakura's blade glowed pink and then began to blow away in tiny pink petals like petals from a cherry blossom tree. The petals drifted harmlessly on the breeze.
"What the hell?" Darleen spluttered as she took in the sight. "An illusion?" She watched as the petals floated in the air and how one single petal brushed against her cheek and felt blood flow from the smooth cut it caused. Pressing her fingers to the wound and then looking at the blood coating her fingers. "No, not an illusion..."
"Correct. Senbonzakuras blade can separate into thousands of tiny pieces and allows me to shred my opponents to pieces." In a rush all the cherry blossoms rushed towards Darleen. As they got near Darleen's arm became a blur slicing at the cherry blossoms and dispursing them but a few still got through and sliced her body causing cuts and slashes all over her body. Wincing in pain Darleen snarled at Sakura.
"Not bad, you managed to deflect most of them before they could hit you." Sakura praised her opponent. "But you're still not fast enough to stop them."
Once again a wave of pink rushed towards Darleen who once again began slashing at them wildly, her arm once again becoming a blur, the cherry blossom blades scattered as Darleen's attack struck them but then shot forward going around Darleen's attack and wrapped them selves around her shoulder and moments later her arm was severed from her body, her arm and sword clattering against the ground and Darleen collapsed, blood pouring out of the wound. The cherry blossoms flowed slowly back to Sakura and began to reform into a blade, once the last one had reformed Sakura sheathed her blade.
"I will spare your life but if you ever cross swords with me again, I will kill you." At that moment both of them turned their attention to a massive burst of energy from the other side of the construction site and saw the brunette Claymore changing shape.
"NO! ZENA!" Darleen yelled as she saw her companion change.
"What is happening to her? Her energy is is incredible." Sakura asked.
"She's awakening! We have to stop her!"
"Awakening?"
"Yes! She's changing into a Demon. She's drawn on too much power and now she can't control it and now she will become a fully formed Demon."
"So that is the source of your strength, you people ingest Demonic energy willingly and control it but it appears it is as dangerous to you as it is to your opponents."
"Please, you've got to kill her before she changes, at least let her die as a human!" Darleen begged.
"I'm sorry, it's too late." Sakura said as the Brunettes transformation stopped. She was no longer human, she now stood at ten feet tall, her body thin and lithe but her whole body was covered in metal plates and her arms which were only a foot off the ground had razor sharp foot long claws. Her face was also covered in metal plates and she no longer had hair but now had two massive metal horns protruding from her head.
"Zena!" The ginger haired Claymore yelled and she attacked her former friend. Her sword bounced harmlessly off the metal armour covering her body. The Giant Demon looked at her as a human would look at a fly and then with incredible speed brought her claws slicing up across her former friends body and everyone watched in shock as the Ginger haired claymore was killed, her body falling to the ground, sliced like a Sunday roast.
Kenpachi leapt through the air and brought his two massive swords crashing down against the back of the Demons head and went wide eyed as they bounced off the metal plating. The Demon staggered forward a step from the force of the blow before spinning round and back handing Kenpachi sending him hurtling through the air crashing into a truck with a pile of steel girders on it. After smashing into the truck the girders toppled off the truck, from the force of the impact, crushing Kenpachi under several tons of steel.
The Demon roared in triumph but was cut short when stream of cherry blossoms struck it square in the chest and wrapped themselves round it's body. With a burst of energy the Demon sent the petals scattering in all directions, leaving barely a scratch on its metal plating.
"Hmm...your a tough one. Good, I was hoping for a tough fight. Now bring it!" Sakura smirked. The Demon ran at Sakura and slashed at Sakura with its long razor like claws. Sakura back flipped, the Demons claw just missing her throat by an inch.
"Damn your fast too!" Sakura sprinted away from the Demon who quickly gave chase. Sakura leapt over a cement truck and the Demon simply shredded the truck to ribbons and continued to chase Sakura into the building that was still under construction.
"I need more speed!" Drawing on her full power Sakura morphed into her true form, golden fur grew across her body, her jaw elongated into a muzzle and ears grew out from her hair and a tail grew out from under her kimino, her legs morphing into a felines hind legs. Her speed and agility now at their peak. Sakura quickly widened the distance between her and the Demon chasing her, and with an amazing feat of agility Sakura ran up a pillar up to the next floor back flipping over the gap onto the floored area. The Demon quickly followed her by using its claws to sink into pillar to pull its self up.
"You're persistant! Senbonzakura!" A rush of cherry blossoms smashed into the Demons chest knocking it off balance but doing little else other than anger the beast. Slashing wildly at her the Demon charges forward, but Sakura easily dodged the attack and slid between the Demons legs and swung her sword hilt at the back of its knees and the Cherry blossoms struck them knocking the Demons legs from under it. Sakura then jumped onto the Demons back and up to the next floor of the building and then with a series of jumps from the frame work of the building up another two floors. Standing on the 4th floor Sakura reforms her blade.
"Okay then, come get me." she muttered quietly as the Demon burst through the floor boards a few feet away. Sakura then ran and jumped down a hole round one of the supporting pilllars and free fell head first down towards the ground flipping onto her feet at the last second and then with swung her sword, the blade scattering into countless cherry blossoms and shredding through all the support pillars. Sakura dashed out of the building as it began to collapse. The Demons shriek was heard over the noise of the building falling into a pile of steel and stone.
"You...you did it!" Darleen exclaimed looking on in shock.
"Not quite. That wasn't enough to kill her but I'm afraid as much as I hate to admit it, I don't have the ability to finish this fight because we are running out of time. There are a large number of humans heading this way, more than likely your group."
"There isn't anyone capable of killing that thing...they'll be slaughtered!"
"I don't think so." Sakura said calmly as the Demon burst out from the wreckage of the building and leapt at Sakura who remained still. While the Demon was air born a huge metal girder flew through the air hitting it and sending the Demon sprawling across the ground. "I was wondering when you were going to join us Kenpachi."
Walking along gripping both his massive blades in each hand, his body was covered in thick luxurious brown fur, his head that of a wolf and now both his eyes were amber with red. His legs were animal like as well and his muscles had grown in size as well so much so that his leather pants and tank top had shredded under the strain, only a couple of scraps of clothing remaining hanging off his body.
"Now I'm pissed off!" Kenpachi snarled.
"End this quickly please. We are running out of time."
"Yeah no problem." He smirked, "I'll finish this quick!" Dashing towards the Demon who was still struggling to get up Kenpachi swung his sword hard into the face of the Demon sending it reeling and then landed blow after savage blow upon the Demon each impact not coming close to penetrating its armour but making it reel from the force of the blow.
"PRIMAL FANG!" Raising one of his swords above his head he brought it crashing down and released an intense burst of energy straight towards the Demon leaving a large gash in the ground as it raced towards it, the attack exploded in a bright light upon impact and forced the Demon onto its back. Sticking his swords into the ground Kenpachi dashed forward with speed towards the Demon bare handed and clotheslined the Demon as it tried to stand up.
Grabbing it by the neck, Kenpachi dragged it to its feet and delivered a jaw breaking punch to the beasts face and then proceeded to beat it silly with punch after punch to its head. A punch to the gut doubled the Demon over and a knee into its head sent the Demon sprawling onto its back again.
"Come on! Is this all you got?!" Kenpachi roared and the beast responded with a desperate slash across Kenpachis chest leaving three bloody slashes. Snarling in pain Kenpachi kicked the Demon in the face knocking it back to the ground. The wounds on Kenpachi's chest closed within seconds leaving only a small amount of blood on his fur to show that he had ever been wounded at all. Walking up behind the Demon as it got to its knees Kenpachi wrapped his arm round the Demons neck and with a burst of strength twisted its head breaking its neck and the Demon vanished in huge cloud of black dust.
"He...he did it..." Darleen spluttered wide eyed in shock.
"Come on Kenpachi, we need to go, NOW!" Sakura ordered, turning and walking towards the exit.
