I flick my ears back "But, Chamman, this is too much for me to handle alone!" I replied, being told to hunt the dragon that was being preying to the cattle of the pack.
"Are you a coward?" he asked, knowing that I would not say other wise in front of the whole clan.
"Of course not, Chamman, will look for it" I said, while I picked up a few items from the hut I was in, and then I waved goodbye to the clan and began to look for hints for the dragon.
I went to the river and where the cattle pastured, and I began to get an idea of how I would get to be on the track of the dragon "Of course, sulphure" I muster to myself, as I set foot to the mountains, and climbing during days, and nights, as I could not fly like the dragon, I undertook a journey that almost killed me.
The dragon drops several pounds of meat beside the panther he had found out in the area near his cave. The poor creature was still out cold. His cave was huge and open, a fireplace lighting the dragon's home. He had already taken the warrior's weapons away in case he was hostile. Slowly he curled up and watches the panther, wondering when he'd awaken from his injuries.
The panther runs a fever and is really sick, as the kind dragon admits him on his home, and after several days of rest the panther finally recovers "Wh---where... am ... I?" he asks weakly, as he looks upon the dragon and tries to recoil, getting a paw to his waist to look for his knife which of course is not on his belt.
The dragon is awakened by the panther's panic and looks down at him. He moves his head low and gives a grin at him, "Seems you're finally doing better. I'm not sure how long you had been out there but it was quite a long time to be dying on my doorstep. Come now," he noses some meat closer to the panther, "Have your fill, you need your strength."
The panther looks at the dragon with uneasyness... "You know why I am here, as well, Dragon..." I start to much on some of the meat, and then I confess to you. "My tribe has set a bail on your head, because you prey on our cattle, this as an example is one of my dear sheep, which I raised since it was an ewe..." I start to eat some weakly.
The dragon's grin fades slightly, "I see, you belong to them. I had a feeling but I wasn't sure...come now, it truly upsets me that I took the life of your beloved sheep but could you blame me? I must hunt and live as well. Do you not do the same?"
As I find myself on a possition that is not easy... "Well you could actually feed on elk and deer, they are aboundant over the forest, and if you want, I will talk to my tribe you are not hunting anymore on us" I offer while eating.
The dragon gives a bigger grin, "Are you sure your tribe would agree to such? I'm a threat. It's part of nature." he stands, towering over the panther, "Stay as long you need, you need all of your strength."
"Will try, but I am not sure of that... we have to get you to the tribe and tell them you are not hunting us anymore..." as I lay back, explaining the situation.
He bows his head, "I'll go with you to hear them out, but at the first sign of danger I will not hesitate to fight back. I dislike force but if needed I will use it...heal a bit longer, you aren't ready to be traveling yet."
I set myself confy... and look around... "What a mess, you should clean after yourself, Dragon, this cave is full of bones and whole skeletons... When I recover, however, will help you clean the place" as I turn my back against the wall as I start to get confier with the dragon.
The laughs loudly, his voice echoing through out the caves, "I'd appreciate that very much dear panther. Tell me, what's your name? Surely you have one correct?"
"My name is Chaos, just from short from ChaosSeeder, and I am sure you also got a name, so I will start by giving you a friendly paw" offering to the dragon an extended paw, with wounds all over
The dragon lowers his head and presses his snout against the injured paw. "My name is Delorian. You amaze me, Panther. You've traveled very far on your own, why would they send a lone warrior to fight me?"
"Because they want me dead. I have been not doing things right, and I took the chamman's daughter without his agreement..." I turn reallygrim when I state this fact, as I start to tell the dragon the whole story.
The dragon listens to the panther explain his story, he frowns as he listens. He stands and curls his large body around the panther's consolingly and rubbed his about gently against his back, "Poor dear...what makes you think they would listen to you about me then? If you're wanted dead, they wouldn't believe you about me."
"I am totally off the hook if I am able to convince you to go to the tribe and explain you are not going to hunt anymore on us"
The dragon rumbles softly, giving a gentle nod. "Alright..I will go. I suppose there is nothing to lose."
"But first let us get to know eachother first a bit..." as I try to get up, and fail, and then I am on my feet again... "I am too weak for the climbdown, I will have to take your help to get down".
The dragon helps to support with his side, "We can stay here, what would you like to know?"
"My journey has taken me many days to be completed, and I am exausted... so in proof of your swell behaviour from now on, I need you to get some hunt that does not belong to us."
The dragon nods, helping the panther up onto his back, "Rest, I'll find us some food. I'll fly slow since you can't hold on too tight without straining yourself."
I climb on top of the dragon and I grasp his neck gently to get a hold of myself while getting on the air "Where should we go, Dragon? I dont know this part of the mountain" I say, wincing.
As the dragon makes his way out of the cave, revealing it to be evening as he begins to fly upwards, "There is a bank of cattle nearby. I usually don't go there but if I'm causing such distraught to your tribe I suppose I wouldn't mind.."
I agree "Set me to the floor when we get there, as good as I am I am not going to be of much help on your back, but will distract them to see if they run to you" I offer.
The dragon nods. After nearly an hour of flying he lands down by a river, lowering his head down to let the panther down. "Here, just don't over exert yourself. We'll have a hard time if you do so.."
The panther nods as he starts to stalk the elks... then he makes a lot of rubble and starts to attract the elks to the dragon.
The dragon waits until several elks are in jumping range. He growls low and pounces, crushing down three elk with three of his paws and sinks his teeth into another, shaking it violently to kill it instantly as the others scatter about.
"You are a fearsome dragon, my friend, look at the carnage you made" approach one of the elk's antler and look at the wound "And you cut deep too" as I shudder, glad to know I have not have to fight the dragon anymore. "Now, we need to get some of these beasts back to the tribe, it is only one hour away on foot, appart from the mountains, from here..." as I skin one of the elks.
The dragon curls and watches the panther curiously, "A peace offering? You sure such a thing would work?"
"We will have to give it a try, it is my best chance for us to get rid of the problem"he says, getting atop you again as he takes the furs into your lap.
The dragon nods, lightly nosing him with a smile, "Do you love that female you spoke of?" his tail curls, rubbing at my side.
"Not really, but it was more a challenge than anything. I am glad to have you at my side, and I will speak up for you, so you better stay behind as I talk to them" he says, nuzzling him as well.
The dragon chuckles at the nuzzle and licks at your cheek, "I see, a mighty one you are. Quite handsome as well, surely they'd be happy to accept you back."
tI grims at that "As far as I know it was only a plot to get rid of me" I say, shrugging. "Come on, we should start to set wings to the tribe, if you are still up to it" I wink at him, knowing his advances mean that he likes me.
As he nods, taking to the skies and begins to travel towards the tribe's location. We get to the trive in less than a minute or so, soaring the skies as fast as the dragon's massive wings can take us.
When we arrive, the chamman and the chief approaches us, and I begin the conversation.
"I have word of the dragon he wont prey on us anymore" I say "And how can we be sure of that?" The chamman asks.
"Well, let him talk for himself if he can" the alpha the panther says
The dragon looks at the chamman and approaches slowly, "I won't do anymore harm to your tribe, I simply went here because it was much more convenient to me. My apologies."
The chamman looks at the dragon all over and smirks "Well, now we are to be sure you are not going to do us anymore harm", as he takes his spear and begins to approach the dragon, ready to impale him with it "What are you doing ?" I ask, yell mostly, and then I take his spear off his hands.
The dragon takes several steps back, growling at the chamman.
"You dare to take me on?" he growls at me "You are now hereby considered a desertor to the clan, and you may not come back ever again, now off with you two!" he yells at me
I tell to the dragon "Come on, it is no use, we need to go before it gets rougher" I climb on your back, and we both fly away into the night sky.
Then the dragon spits a flame off to the side, flying back to his home. He looks back at you as he flies, "Sorry it seems my apology was not enough for him."
