Immortal, Chapter 2 - Welcome
Second session, Hoping to get a little more in detail in three
Immortal Chapter 2: Welcome "And as for you boy," Andreas narrowed his eyes as his tail rattled. "We've decided to let you live," He hissed his forked tongue darting out. Katashi looked up at the great bull before him. The two powerful beings stood and all four exited to room. Sayomi let out a loud sigh of contentment and grumbled to himself incoherently.
"What are you sighing about, you didn't just die," He growled. "Those two that you just saw; they were basically the closets thing to God and Lucifer from you mythologies," Sayomi turned down the corridor.
"Hey wait what do I do from here?" Katashi yelled and suddenly a black circle appeared under him. "See ya around newbie," Sayomi gave him a half-assed salute. Katashi's feet slipped through the floor. His body melted down into the black sphere. He reached around for something to grab onto. His hands gripped onto the marble floor. His chest submerged completely.
"Crap!" He yelled as he vanished into the darkness. Thrashing his arms around he held his breath as if he was underwater. "Breath boy!" He looked up seeing another hold open under him. He fell through the second hole onto the floor of a small room. He groaned rubbing his back as he fell from the ceiling. "What the hell! You just bring me here without asking!" He yelled young women across the room. The tall slender women cracked a smile and laughed softly at him. Her black hair letting his bangs run across her face.
"Quite complaining," She smirked helping him up. "Why should I?" He took her hand and pulled himself up. "Cause your about to go into a preparation room; and if you complain in there the man inside will tear you apart," She smiled and snapped the black portal closing. "Wait what was that?" He asked and watching it fade away. She turned and rubbed his hair being much taller than the high school student. "You'll learn kid," She opened the door showing the great white Ligeron standing at a large pool of water in a well lit room. He gulped and stepped in nodding at the beast.
"Well you survived passing through the darkness gate; you passed your first test with flying colors," His wings folded behind his back and motioned him forward. The women leaned against the doorway as Katashi stepped forward. Ligeron smiled and moved his hand across the pool making it light up. "Whoa," Katashi stared at the water as the light faded. Suddenly a flare dissipated showing Katashi in an ICU bed. Katashi gasped watching as a nurse looked over his chart as he slept.
"That's you, its rare that someone comes here who's body is still alive," Ligeron explained. "So why is that rare?" Katashi looked at him. "Well child when a person dies their soul is collected and brought here to be sent to on to heaven or hell. After they spend one hundred years in their pleasure or punishment. They are released and sent back into the cycle of birth or spend eternity in the immortal realms." Ligeron spoke. "So where does that still put me," Katashi listened.
"When a soul like you is brought here because they managed to be forced from their bodies, We either banish you to hell or make you a Watcher, Watcher guard souls from being destroyed by Halo's greatest enemy; The Hunters," He waved his hand again. The pool relit and showed men in completely white outfits each one a mortal. Ligeron continued to explain that the hunters were a group of humans who disowned the immortals. Not allowing themselves to be judged either good or bad enough to be sentenced. They were the purists in the watered down religions of humanity. Followers of the books written by men who mistake its meanings. Heretics all; known for their cruelty towards themselves and others. Lead by seven generals they fight against the beings of Halo to destroy the afterlife and forge their own.
"So the watchers are fighters?" He narrowed his eyes. Ligeron nodded and continued to explain. Halo is separated into twelve rings all inside of one another. The inner ten including the central temple are districts. Each one led by one of the Afterlife Commander who were immortals much like Ligeron. Each district specializes in different studies. Including healing, physical fighting, magic based fighting, construction, support, stealth, research and development, security, and the two commanding sectors. As a watcher Katashi must be sent to one of these places.
"Well child are you sure you want to take this burden?" Ligeron looked at him. Katashi stood silent for a short period and let a cocky smirk go across hi face. "Well its either that or hell right?" He smiled and gave him a thumbs up. "Very well, Amie please show this young man to the recruit's barracks," Ligeron looked back at the women against the door. She smiled and snapped once again making him fall down into the darkness once again. "Hey can't we just walk!" He yelled before vanishing into the darkness.
Ligeron smiled and turned seeing Andreas stepping up behind him. His hands met his hips softly as he let his muzzle rest on his shoulder. "Well now do you think he's worth it," He whispered softly into his lover's ear. "Not sure yet, he's still just a child," Ligeron turned and nuzzled his head against his mates. Andreas eyes turned down to the pool and darkness wrapped around the pool. Suddenly a picture of Katashi trying to swim through the darkness appeared. "Hm I'm very curious about him," His aqua eye glimmered softly as he stared. "You all usually never tell me about these things, oddly you always left me out of that," He smiled and licked Ligerons cheek. "Well you usually have better things to do with your time," Ligeron turned catching his mates tongue in a kiss.
Suddenly Katashi feel with a loud thump in great canyon. The sandy colored walls towering overhead almost blocking out the sun. "Where am I?" he rubbed his head seeing Amie standing over him. "Welcome to Immortal realm number six, its very hot here, there's almost no water, and here we will test to see if you are capable of becoming a watcher," She explained and turned around. He quickly stood a vein popping out in his forehead. "Hey I thought they already made a watcher!" He yelled. "No they made it so you could take the test to become one," She Clarified. He grumbled and they began to walk forward slowly deeper into the desert canyon. Katashi kept opening his mouth to try to speak. Except each time Amie told him to keep, his mouth shut while they walked. She stopped suddenly and he ran into her back. "What we stopping for?" He growled. She pointed forward to the large floor covered in tiles.
"Go on," She pushed him forward onto the tiles. Suddenly a flash of light let around the arena edge. "This is test one, a test of stamina," She snapped and the tile under him ignited and a blast of energy erupted him. Quickly he jumped out of the way to the other side of the arena. "What the..." He yelled before the tile under him started to glow as the other had. He jumped again and began to run as the tiled erupted out. Each one he stepped upon doing so a few seconds after his foot made contact. "Keep going till you run of steam this is testing how long you can go," She laughed as he cursed running around the tiles.
For hours, he sweated running about. Soon his feet became heavy and with one false move, he tripped falling forward. Landing on a number of tiles the erupted out their energy. As the light faded, he opened his eyes seeing he was ok. "Hey I'm still here," He sighed and looked over at the women. "Of course I said it's a test, you can't die in a test," She leaned against a boulder. "You mean I've ran around this damn arena almost all day just so you could watch me nearly pass out!" He yelled and fell his legs collapsed under him. He sat down catching his breath as she brought some food and water out to him. "Eat up newbie you got another test coming up soon," She stepped back off the arena as he ate and regained his strength.
Soon the tiles changed under him and it expanded to one long narrow passage. "So what's the next test?" He asked, suddenly the tiles fell into oblivion; he gulped, and quickly got up. Taking off at full speed, he rushed to get away as fast as possible. The tiles collapsing under his feet, throwing off his balance. He gulped nearly falling into the blackness as he shoved off the tiles. In one last jump he reached out grabbing the barely inch thick ledge. "Not trying to kill me huh?" He yelled out to the women staring down at him. "Hm...I guess you passed you didn't fall," She stepped onto his fingers and he falls with a small thud. The pit only a few inches deep the black just paint on the ground.
"Don't say it! I know I know! Just a test!" He forced himself up and grumbled. "Final test you go up against a commander so we can see if you can form your weapon," She smirked and she smiled pulling her vest off and tossing it aside. Underneath is a light blue uniform shirt as a long blue coat appears upon her. "In my human form name is Amie, but my real name is Luna, Commander of Sector 8, Immortal Class," She whispered. Suddenly her form melted away like ice showing a beautiful white wolf underneath. Her fur covered in frost. Her eyes a dark crimson as she glowed like the moon.
"Your...An Immortal?" He gasped and stepped back. "May I explain what I mean by summoning a weapon," She whispered, as the air in the canyon became ice cold. He held out her hand her claws glimmering with frost. "Now from the frozen tundra take shape Kori No Aijin," She held her arm forward. Her entire arm encased in ice before it took the form of a great wolfs maw. A gauntlet of ice, fur, and teeth wrapped around her arm. The pelt of the wolf draped over her like crude armor. "So...I'll be able to do that?" He gasped and shook from the cold radiating off it.
"Unfortunately no, the weapon comes to resemble the user, I am a pacifist...this weapon allows me to defend myself and hurt only if I must. You must also call it by its name it will never come any other way," She explained.
To finish his tests he would have to summon a weapon like this. He would have to summon something like this by calling its name. She smiled warmly and held her gauntlet forward. "Allow me to start you off," She whispered. Suddenly the wolfs mouth opened and a wave of energy slammed into him. He held his arms up to defend himself but the energy simply whipped around him. When he looked up, he could see thousands of different colored stands. All moving around him slowly and swiftly. "Each one of these is what little power you posses at the moment, their color reflects the element that you are able to control, as mine is ice so you must choose one," She blew out and the gauntlet shattered from her arm.
Sitting upon a boulder, she smiled crossing her legs. "You may pick one, and only one, if you pick correctly, you pass every test I can give and are worthy of being a Watcher. Fail and that energy strand will tear you apart," She stared at him intently. Katashi stared at every strand and gulped. "Crap what do I do now," He thought to himself.
