Merideth walked along the street with a clumsy step on her right leg. Her arm crossed over her stomach as her other arm tried to brace herself against the wall. Tears streaked her cheeks as she stumbled several more steps and collapsed against the building she was holding herself up with. Her pointed ears folded to her skull as she screamed out in to the air, but the heavy down pour of rain rushing from the pitch black sky drowned out her gargled voice. As she rested against her knees and wept, she pulled her hand from her stomach and looked at the blood that had leaked from her knife wound on to her hand.

Quickly covering the wound, her cries went unanswered in to the night air and she struggled to get back to her feet. As she did so, she caught sight of a small neon sign buzzing in the darkness with a red flicker of light that went solid blue. She couldn't make out the name, or what the sign was for, she just knew that people would be there and she took the hardest steps of her life to move forward towards that sign. Her white fur matted from the rain, streaked with red blood on her expensive designer dress. Even slumped in her position, her six feet of height was notable as she moved forward, pushing her-self to reach that sign in the distance.

Inch by inch, every step she took sent fire through her body all the way to her long tail, the fur there soaking wet and hanging from part of the bone that was severed partially. Through the pain, she saw that sign getting closer and closer and soon she saw the small building sitting in a rundown lot. A silver trailer about two hundred feet long rested in the midst of the dusty ground and broken fence. Her ears picked up the rattle of the chain fence as she grasped it with all her strength. She was so close, and she could see people inside. She screamed once more, but her voice was choked off by pain.

Her body toppled down, landing on her soft round breasts as the left tit fell from her top and ran her dusky nipple along the dirty lot. Her vision began fading as she tried to crawl towards the entrance to the building. She faded, but could see a shadow, something moving towards her. Another woman? She couldn't tell, she had lost too much blood and her body could no longer support her fight for life. The rain finally let up as she laid in a pool of her own blood, soaked to the bone and all alone.

***************************************

Voices echoed in the air, strong warmth radiated from all around, and then vision - sight returned. Merideth looked around, her vision clouded and blurred but she clearly made out figures moving around. Pain didn't burn in her belly, or anywhere else in her body, so she sat up and rubbed her eyes. She found herself sitting in a long booth with a table in front of her and a steaming cup of hot cocoa already resting before her. She lifted her ears and looked around as if she were dreaming, had she passed out here and dreamt her own murder? No, it seemed too real, all too real.

"Do you not like it?" a soft voice echoed in her ear, the tone sweet and subtle yet hinted at male.

As she turned to look at the one with the voice, she found herself looking in to the dark blue eyes of a jackal with pitch black fur and a sweet smile on his face. Tall and lean, the man stood almost six foot five on his long legs. Dressed in a white shirt and an apron around his front, his chest had little definition just like his arms. Silver blue hair spilled down to his shoulder with fluffed and feathered bangs. He stood there, waiting for a reply. But she just turned away and grabbed the cup. She blew lightly on the surface and took a sip slowly, the taste of hazel and nutmeg hit her lips amidst the flavor of the chocolate along with a hint of milk. This was... exactly how she enjoyed her chocolate milk.

"Merideth?" the male voice spoke once more, but her ears lifted high on her head as she turned.

"H-How did you know my name?" she asked, her voice cracked and broken, strained as if she'd been screaming all night. The man smiled even wider, and placed her license on the table near her. She looked at it and rubbed her temples, she must have been drinking that's why she had that nightmare. She looked up to him and smiled "Thanks, I'm... I'm sorry to have taken up a seat... how long was I out?" she asked, looking around for her purse.

She couldn't find it though, it wasn't beside her, it wasn't under the table, nor was it on the table. She looked over again and gawked as the Jackal man had vanished without a word or even a sound. "Hello?" she called out, noticing the small Diner was empty. "Where's my purse?" she asked curiously. Standing from her booth, she stumbled and landed on her hands and knees.

"Nice view!" two male voices called out, she realized suddenly that her dress had hiked up over her bum and her tail was flagged to keep her balance, giving the men a view of her crotch and rump. Without panties to cover her-self, even though she swore she had them on, she quickly covered herself up, blushing profusely.

"I'm sorry?" she asked, turning and gawking a moment.

In front of her, two male wolves stood just a few inches under six feet, side by side. They were obviously twins, both dark furred with blue eyes that rested with soft affection. Well muscled chests with some groomed fur hanging from their white dress shirts and black vests. A pair of black khaki slacks covered their legs, but held tight to their notable groins. They both had tails that seemed to swing in tandem together, left to right, right to left. She stared at them, looking closer and closer and found herself becoming aroused by these two young looking men. She noticed name tags on these two though, Rajah and Rajan.

The two males smiled at her and bowed their heads. "Sorry miss," they said in unison as they paused for a moment. "We're just admiring the view we got by accident, forgive us." They finished and marched behind a short bar against the far wall.

It was now, that she finally began looking at her surroundings. The small Diner had a pair of bright red diamond shaped front doors. White washed walls that swept along the left side of her, lined with booths and tables. She counted fifteen tables in all. The wall that took over behind her had a small window that led in to a vast kitchen she couldn't peak in to from her position. That wall pushed down in to a black wall lined with liquor and a large rounded bar top with single seats set up in front of that. Back to the wall with the entrance, she noticed an alcove that obviously held the doors to bathrooms.

It was small, cheap, and lacking... she'd never come to a joint like this, so why was she here?

Standing up finally, she dusted herself off and finally realized she didn't have panties on. Her expression was first one of shock, and then one of remembrance. Her hands scrambled over her belly and there she saw it, a large gash in her dress that showed where she was stabbed in her dream. But no wound was in her belly, and there was no smell on her. She looked up at the twins behind the bar, her mouth open as if to express a question, but then she slammed her fist to the bar top. "Something strong please." She murmured through her ground teeth.

Rajan smiled and turned, grabbing a large bricked glass and slinging it on top of the bar while Rajah walked with the moving glass, pouring a bottle of Vodka in to it until the glass came to a stop in front of her and his hand lifted from the glass to put the bottle up. He stood there, smiling at her without a word as she downed the glass in two quick gulps. Slamming the glass down, she hissed a bit and sighed. "Another please." Once more the twins did their trick for her, and she found herself smiling a bit. "Where am I?" she asked.

Both males turned to each other and smiled. "The Styx Diner." They said in perfect unison.

She found herself disturbed by such a trick and adjusted her dress top. "Do... either of you know how my dress got torn? Or where my purse went off too?" she asked. Then she remembered, she turned to go get her license from the table, but her hot cocoa and her license were gone. She paused for a few moments, and then slowly turned around to look at the twins. "I... Is this some kind of joke?" she huffed, starting to get scared.

"No trick. The Styx likes you." They said, her eyebrow lifted as if they had gone insane. "Don't worry, Don't Fear, the Styx Diner gives second chances at life." They said, trading off lines from one to the other.

"What?" she barked, looking at the twins as if they were stupid.

The twins looked from one to the other, and then smiled at her. "This Diner, its magic, it picked you to have a second chance at life, to change your past and bring around a better future." They explained to her.

She stood from her seat and shook her head. "This is insane." She said, turning from them and walking for the door.

"Your bill miss." The twins called out to her.

Freezing in her tracks, she gritted her teeth tightly and turned down the hall to the bathroom. "Just, powdering my nose." She commented. As she entered the ladies room, and closed the door, she froze and shuddered.

The room was pitch dark, the walls concrete and frigid. Rain was pouring down from the sky and she saw a dark alley way with shadows moving down it. The sound of heels rapidly clicking down the alley rang in her ears and she turned to start pounding on the door she had just shut, screaming for help as tears welled up in her eyes and rolled down her cheeks. Cat calls, hollers of lust, and snickers of men laughing in the distance started to echo down the alley and she pounded harder at the door, crying for mercy and someone to help her. She paused, and turned to look down the alley, a beam of moonlight shinning down on one shadow directly. His shape was disfigured, mangled by shadow, but the sparkling glitter of a Bouie knife held in his hand was obvious.

She started to sink to her knees as she cried, her entire form shivering with fear. She thought she was in hell, and as the shadow moved closer, cackling with laughter, she readied herself to be raped and killed again. One step, two steps, the shadow inched closer. She closed her eyes and waited. But the sounds all died down, the rain hitting her ceased, and the cold concrete turned warm. Lifting her head to look around, she found herself looking at three brown door stalls lined along floral print walls. Two sinks with mirrors above each were just to her right as she looked around.

Slowly rising to her feet, still shaking from that memory, she settled over a sink and ran some warm water, splashing her face a few times. She rubbed her eyes raw before slamming her hands to the sinks rim.

"Ya ok?"

Shrieking at the top of her lungs and twirling to the side, Merideth's back hit the wall hard as she looked at another woman. The otter's hands were held up, palms opened to show she came in peace. Only four feet and three inches, the short otter had a bust like that made her look flat stuffed in to a form fitting white blouse with frilly lace along the cleavage line. The blouse merged in to a dress bell that covered the otter's legs, but showed off her wide set hips and plush round ass cheeks. She was hardly 'sleek' like most otters, filled out perfectly for her size. Her fur was the one thing that seriously set her apart from other otters. Pitch black on the sides, her head, and likely down her back like her tail, but with a soft violet hue on her throat and down her cleavage.

Sparkling emerald eyes stared back at her, with a bright smile on those dark lips with a light green lip stick on the otter's lips and some violet eye shadow. Merideth couldn't help but notice a red choker around the woman's throat, since it dangled a golden bell down in to her cleavage. "You alright?" the otter asked once more, her voice lyrical and soft, with a slight hint of sweet seraphim tone.

"Y-ya..." Merideth finally said, breathing heavily. "What the hell is this place?" she finally blurted out, grabbing her stomach and sinking down to her bum.

The otter put her hands down, putting them behind her back and marching forward a couple of paces. "Well, my name is Ninalia, Nina for short. As for this place? I believe the twins told you already." She smiled brightly, never closing her eyes. "It's a place for second chances. I'm sorry if you're a bit disoriented, the Styx does that to people when their souls are pulled from the river."

Sniffling, Merideth wiped her eyes. "What do you mean?" she wept, starting to break down. "Why am I here?"

Nina sat down and pulled Merideth's head down to her breasts and stroked her head softly. "Shhh. Let's not talk about that. Let's talk about where you think your life changed, ok?" she said calmly.

For several long minutes, Merideth just cried until she actually began to think about that question. Her eyes opened and she found herself looking at old room. Her apartment was a rundown piece of crap not fit for anyone to live in, but it was her home. She was fifteen years old and had bought her own place after running away and learning she could get money for having sex. Men would pay for her because she was young and fresh, they paid well and even the owner of the apartment took her to bed to cover her rent so she could save up. She soon found out that food, electricity and water were expensive.

Nina was in the room with her, walking around the small studio apartment. A single bed, nothing more than a cot with ragged sheets and pillow, along with some empty pizza boxes nearby and a small TV, a two burner stove and a sink were all that filled the room. There were some clothes strewn about in the closet, but they were trashy clothes that street walkers wore. "I haven't seen things like this in many years." Nina commented as she looked around.

"This... this is where I made my start. Just learning, no pimp and selling my-self like a cheap piece of ass. Didn't even know how much my ass really was worth on the street." Merideth sniffed a couple of times as she joined Ninalia in walking around the studio. "Theh... I was young and stupid." She laughed a little.

Turning on her heels, Nina smiled some "And if you could change this part in your life?" she asked.

Merideth rubbed her arm a little bit. She seriously thought about that as she looked around. The front door opened and in walked a fat male pig. His belly jiggling under his ribbed and stained white tank top. A pair of skin tight shorts covered his hips with the fly undone while he held the door open. In walked Merideth, fifteen years younger and dressed in tight hip hugger jeans and a small t-shirt that didn't do much to hide her budding curves.

"Now then little missy, the rent is due every week, so I expect to see a lot of ya in my bed now." The pig snorted, rubbing his chin as he looked over the young girl as she marched inside with a backpack on her back, her hands stuffed under the shoulder straps.

"Thanks. I'll do just that." She smiled.

"Can they see us?" the older Merideth asked, but Nina shook her head, smiling. The pig and younger wolf faded away, and Merideth smiled. "If I could change this... I'd go home, give my mother a hug and cry, I was stupid and didn't know a thing about the world and she was just trying to help me but instead I threw it in her face."

The room faded away and they were standing in the bathroom once more. "Come with me." Nina said, gripping Merideth's hands and pulling her out the door. They walked back out in to the main room, and Merideth saw that jackal again.

He was holding her purse, smiling at her as he brought it over. "Forgive me, I forgot to tell you my name. I'm Mica." He said, offering a kiss to her hand as she took her purse.

"H-How much do I owe for the drinks?" she asked.

"Nothing." A deep voice said. It was cold, and dark, almost like a bass drum being beat roughly. In the corner of a booth close to the kitchen window, a man sat sipping some soda from a glass. White hair that fell down his back seemed to sit perfectly still no matter the direction his head moved. Two large fox like ears jutted up from his head and twitched now and then, the fur on them a soft azure color with the tips dark purple. His entire body was human in appearance, fair white skin with dark green eyes hidden beneath the white bangs of his hair. A painting of black lip gloss crossed his thin lips and his hands were knuckled with strong fingers capped by sharp claws.

From his posture, she gauged the man to be about six foot one, with thick muscled chest and arms like those of a part time body builder. He wore a black robe over his chest with long sleeves that passed his hands when they went to his sides. The robe decorated with varying colored runs denoting the eight trigrams of elements. On his hips he wore a pair of black slacks that shimmered like the night sky, they even had tiny little white spots as if they were stars. She then noticed the movement behind him, nine azure furred fox tails swayed behind him, each tipped by dark purple at varying depths and lengths. She seemed... afraid of this man, and yet at peace with him in the room.

"Allester dear, don't be so scary." Ninalia spoke up, moving from Merideth's side and walking over to the man in his booth. She crawled up in his lap, her dress bunching up around her ass cheeks and showing off the white stockings she wore on her short legs as she straddled the man's hips. Her lips met his as her hands moved up to cup his cheeks. The kiss lasted for a few moments before she pulled back. "Her name is-"

"Merideth Akastiel, Age thirty four, residence twenty-seven thirty-two Archway park apartment number nine on the second floor. She loves beautiful outfits and desires nothing more than to be rolling in money, by marrying a rich man or by herself under her own power." Allester said; his voice level and calm still.

"Dear, don't do that. I really hate it when you know everything about a person that comes in here." Ninalia barked, climbing off of Allester's lap.

"It's my Job My love."

Nina turned and sighed "I suppose you're right." She smiled. "Such is the fate of Death." She said, smiling at him over her shoulder as she shook her round butt at him a couple of times with her hands on her hips.

"Death?" Merideth barked in question, her eyes wide with shock.

Ninalia turned her head and took a curtsy. "Ninalia Darkflame, current Mistress of Fate, this Demon behind me is my husband, Allester Darkflame. He is the current 'death' as most people would refer to him." She then pointed at the twins "They are Rajah and Rajan Wolffang, the current master's of time and space." She paused and motioned to Mica. "That is Mica Hael, trainee for the lost and found."

"Don't forget me!" a small voice chipped in, a small red fox dropped down from the roof. Striking a pose with his tail wrapped around his left leg. "Faytt Astral, Master of-" his voice was cut off as Mica grabbed him and walked with him in to the kitchen.

"Sorry about that. Faytt is a lost soul. He couldn't decide to change his fate or keep it." Ninalia responded, smiling some. "He stays here because he likes it here, so we let him act as a 'what if' to those who come here." She smiled.

Merideth took all of this in and looked around a moment. "So... you all are Gods?"

Everyone but Allester laughed, the man just smiled some. Nina held a hand to her face and giggled a little more before smiling. "There's no true definition to being a 'god' so to speak. There are many beings with powers like ours, or different abilities all together. Those powers and abilities can be bestowed on others at a whim, or kept with the immortal soul that goes with them." She paused and took a moment to think before she smiled. "Allester has been 'Death' for over nine millennia, I met him when I was eleven years old back in the dark ages, and I was given the powers of the last 'Fate' over four millennia ago. Sometimes being alone so long those in power want to let go." Her head turned to her husband and both of them smiled. "But as long as I have my Demon I will forever want for naught."

Merideth smiled at the explanation and the ending sentiment between the two lovers. She looked over at the twins and chuckled "So how old are they?" she asked.

"Twenty-nine." They both responded.

She stopped and looked at them, and then to Ninalia. The otter shrugged and smiled "They were ascended only four years ago, they're still learning which is why you sort of ended up falling short of the entrance. They've yet to learn how to properly resize The Styx."

"So... if I change my life, does that mean I forget everything?" she asked, changing the subject suddenly.

A long pause fell over them all, but Allester continued to make his sipping sounds as he drank his soda. When he sat it down, he peered at Merideth with his cold gaze. "It would depend on you. Changing fate is more difficult than you think. Even as experienced as Nina is with bending the rules, such as this Diner, fate ultimately is in your own hands. All she does is guide you and open the paths. If you change your life, you could end up here again, or remember everything, it's all in your hands." He said.

Merideth rang her hands together, as she thought. Finally she made up her mind "So... how do we start?" she asked.

She had just finished her question when she found herself standing on the street. She was fifteen again, standing just a foot away from the sleazy apartment complex she first moved in to. Her eyes glossed over and she cried a little, her cheek fur stained with the tears as she turned on her heels and ran back down the street. She didn't care if she pushed past people; she just wanted to go home. For ten minutes she ran, tripping a couple of times and scrapping her knees, she had to pause when she got up. It hit her, she was forty-seven miles from home and she had already used the money she stole from her parents to get out here.

It was then, that a hand reached down to her, inky black furred fingers. She looked up and found herself looking in to Mica's beautiful eyes as she took his hand. For some reason, she couldn't remember his name, but she felt like she could trust him. They got in to his car, and she told him her home address. The drive was short, and quiet, not a word spoken until they stopped at her home. She spoke 'Thank you... Mica' and ran from the car to her home.

Inside the door, her mother met her and all Merideth could do was hug her tightly, squeezing hard as she cried. "I'm sorry momma! I'm so sorry!" she wept. Her mother cried as well, as her father rushed out to join in the hug.

***************************************

Years later, Merideth was leaving her father's hardware store and locking up for her lunch break. Her belly rumbled noisily as she climbed in to her car. As she put the vehicle in to drive, she stopped. Her eyes caught sight of a neon red sign that shifted to blue to spell out the word 'Styx' in bold. A feeling of deja'vu swept over her. She didn't know why, but she put her car in park and decided to walk to the Diner.

As she entered the door, she saw white and black checkered walls all around her, with a cherry red set of booths on the right and left walls that marched up the dining hall to a small bar with no liquor. "Hello?" she called out, moving towards the bar. To the left of the bar a small hallway lead to some bathrooms, but as her head turned to the right, her eyes opened and she found herself staring in shock through a window in to the kitchen area.

There, on top of a silver table was a very busty otter woman - half naked with a human like fox! The otters dress bodice was pulled open, her breasts bouncing in a rhythm set by the thrusts of the man's hips. Their bodies molded together tightly as they made love on that table. Every drive of the man's hips sent the woman's breasts in to a heavy upward sweep as she moaned in delight when he withdrew from between her spread legs. Her hands rolled across his chest as he leaned in to share an impassioned kiss with one another, pressing together like butter melting in to one stick.

Merideth couldn't look away, finding her-self getting wet at the sight of two obvious lovers enjoying themselves on a food preparation table. She never noticed the two shadows moving up behind her, and when they spoke "Hello, can we help you?" she jumped, startled.

"I... I was... I mean." She stammered, turning to look at the twin wolves that smiled at her.

"They do that often, married couples ya know." Both spoke in unison once more.

She smiled; her cheeks red with blush. "I-I, well, that is." She paused as she fidgeted. "I've never... uhmm..." she looked back at the two love birds, but they were gone. Not a single sign of them, not even smears of buffing from the otters round ass on the stainless steel surface of the table. "Where'd they go?" she barked.

"Back to their room." The twins said again, chuckling. "Welcome to The Styx Diner. Hungry?" they asked her.

She smiled, feeling better now, calm almost. "Sure, that sounds good. My names Merideth." She giggled, catching their names on their name tags. When they turned to lead her to a table, she paused to peek at their rounded asses and smiled. "Nice view." She teased.
