#8 of Alan's Story

Well, here is the next chapter. Not much to say ^^ I really hope you guys enjoy. Oh, and while there is a rape tag, there is only a brief mention of rape, and no real sex in this chapter. Sorry guys.

After Christmas Break, Nathan went home with his mom none the wiser and our lives going almost back to normal. However, it was the second semester now, and with the semester change also came a change to classes. This semester, Nathan and I both had gym, and with a bit of skillful maneuvering, with the help of Nathan's father, we managed to get PE together, and since the coach was female, we finally managed to get some time together every day.

Right now it's February, and Nathan and I have been enjoying our time together in the locker room, even though it was less than ten minutes a day, it was still more than we had gotten before. It was nearing Valentine's day, which was our topic of discussion today, and Nathan and I were trying to figure out a way to make plans. I was sitting on the bench, already in my gym clothes, waiting for Nathan to get there.

When he finally entered I stood up quickly and walked over to him, wrapping my arms around him tightly and grinning a bit when he grunted from the force of my hug. "Hey there big guy," he said with a little bit of a laugh as I relaxed my grip and he just slumped against me.

I grinned a bit and nuzzled his neck, smiling, "Hey there sexy," I murmured to him. "You ready to discuss Valentine's Day?" I asked him with a smile, "Found a plan to sneak out yet?"

With that, Nathan's ears flattened to his head and he bit his lip, looking down. "About that..." he said hesitantly looking up at me.

"What?" I asked, my heart dropping into my stomach. Had Nathan's mom found something out? Was something else going to happen to make our relationship even more complicated?

"My mom is making me go with her and dad to Florida for three days during that time." He said, nuzzling into my neck and I let out a soft sigh of relief. It was disappointing, but not as bad as it could have been.

"Oh," I said, kissing him on the cheek, "Ok, when do you guys leave?"

"We're leaving on Valentine's Day," he said, "Which means I still have the rest of the week left to spend time with you in here..."

I smiled and squeezed him to my chest, nosing into his neck fur and licking his cheek gently, "That's all I can ask for," I murmured softly into his ear, giving it a nibble, "Even if this is all the time we get with each other... it's really nice to get to spend any time with you."

He smiled and opened his maw and I sighed softly as the coach whistled for us to exit the locker room. That was the end of our time for now... I gave him one last kiss on the cheek and said, "I'll see you tomorrow sweetheart." I stroked his cheek and gave him one last squeeze before exiting the locker room.

Later that day, I sat at the dining room table, picking at my dinner and sighing softly and looking at Travis, "Got any plans for Valentine's Day?" I asked him, tilting my head.

He looked at me with the oddest expression I had ever seen and said, "No, I won't go out with you."

He had a playful smirk on his face and I rolled my eyes, leaning back and grinning at him, "I had plans to take Nathan camping for Valentine's Day but him and his parents are going to Florida... and it's too late to get my money back on the reservation, but I also don't want to go camping alone."

He raised his eyebrow and said, "Camping? In February? We'd freeze!"

I rolled my eyes at him and said, "We've got electric blankets, and we both know how to make a fire. Come on Travis, we haven't gone camping since before I went to the school."

Travis looked out the window for a second and then sighed, "God damnit Alan. I'll go with you."

I grinned at him and walked around the table to hug him, pressing my cheek against his for a second, "Thanks bro." I told him.

He hugged me back awkwardly, rubbing my back and giving it a few pats before saying, "This is starting to feel a bit homo Alan."

I rolled my eyes and stepped away from him, sitting back down and going back to eating my dinner, "Where's mom?" I asked him finally, just now realizing that she wasn't there.

He stared at me and shook his head, "She's at work dummy, she's working a double today remember."

"Oh. Yeah." I said, blushing under my fur a bit and then sighing and standing up. "I have homework to do..." I headed out of the kitchen and stopped at the door for a second and turned back to Travis, "Thanks Travis."

"For what?" he asked, looking at me.

"For going with me..." I said with a smile.

He shrugged a bit and leaned back in his chair, stretching his arms above his head, "Whatever." He said, and then went back to eating.

I watched him for a second longer before turning and walking upstairs slowly, laying down on my bed and sighing a bit, closing my eyes and humming to myself. It struck me as odd that it was so quiet, and then I remembered that Steven was at a friend's house for the day. I rolled onto my side on the bed and closed my eyes, yawning a bit.

I may not get to spend Valentine's Day with my boyfriend, but at least I get to spent it with my brother.

I laughed with Travis and nudged him with my foot as he scared poor Steven, who was snuggled up into my side. I gave the poor little kit a nice, hard squeeze before leaning down and pecking him on the top of the head. "Shh sweety," I told him with a smile, rubbing the seven year old's tummy, "It's just a story. There are no ghosts out tonight. It's valentine's day, the only ghosts out are love ghosts!"

Steven sniffled a bit and pulled his head out of my shirt long enough to look up at me and wipe his eyes on his sleeve, snuggling tighter against me to avoid the chilly air and say, "Really?"

I smiled and nodded my head, leaning and giving him a little nuzzle, "The mean ghosts all go back down to their evil place tonight, and the ghosts of love come out and make good people happy." I said.

Steven giggled a bit and then buried his face back into my shirt. I chuckled and started to pet his back, leaning back and yawning a bit. I cracked one eye and looked at the fire before looking at Travis and saying, "Put more wood on the fire. It's almost down entirely."

Travis rolled his eyes and got some fresh firewood and put it on the fire, and the fire flared up. I covered my eyes for a second before leaning back, closing my eyes and enjoying the fresh wave of heat. I yawned a bit and snuggled Steven like he was a plushy, holding him tightly to my chest, much to his enjoyment.

Just as I was about to drift off to sleep though, my phone rang. I groaned softly and sat up, digging through my bag until I found the phone buried way at the bottom and got it out. I looked at the caller ID and noticed that it was Nathan's father. I titled my head curiously and stood up, walking off a bit and answering. "Hello?" I asked.

"Alan?" he asked, "Is Nathan there with you?" I could hear the worry in his voice but it just made me incredibly confused.

"No..." I said, "I thought you guys were in Florida?"

"There was a huge storm that stopped us from going," he said. It sounded like he was in a car and I could hear someone speaking frantically in the background and heard him say something before he said to me, "Could you look for him? He went for a walk saying he knew where you were camping and I haven't been able to contact him since."

I chewed my lip a bit before sighing softly and said, "I'll walk down the path and check for him."

"Thank you Alan," he said, and then immediately hung up the phone.

I walked back to camp quickly and patted Travis' shoulder, "I'm going to walk down the path really fast, Nathan is missing and his dad think he may have come to find me... I'll be back. If I'm not back in ten, come find me."

"Alright," Travis said, picking Steven up and cradling him against his chest as I slowly began to walk down the path, looking carefully off into the trees, half expecting him to somehow of gotten lost. As I walked, I began to hear a soft squealing and a few cries of pain. I walked more quickly, my heart speeding up.

As I rounded a bend in a path, I stumbled upon a very disturbing scene. One that made me quite angry. There were three men, laughing while a fourth one held something up to a tree and was thrusting into it with quite a lewd sound. The something was Nathan.

I shouted loudly and sprinted at the male who was holding Nathan up and tackled him hard, grunting as I threw him to the ground and fell on him instantly, jamming my fist into his face until he wasn't moving before I was rolled off.

I kicked out hard, my foot slamming into the nuts of another of the males as I rolled to my feet. I caught the fist of the next guy and slammed him into the tree, slamming his head into the rough bark and grinding him as I pushed him to the ground.

Just then, I cried out in pain as a searing hot pain flared up in my side, a knife sticking into my gut. I sank to my knees and tears filled my eyes as I clutched at the wound, my eyes meeting Nathan's eyes, which were filled with fear and pain. "Should've just let us fuck the whore," the male behind me grunted, raising the knife.

Just then, Travis barreled out of the trees and knocked him out of the way. I could hear the wailing of police sirens in the distance as Travis wrestled with the last of the men, the other three groaning on the ground. As the area filled with light and police rounded the four up, paramedics rushed to me and I felt them worrying over me, pressing something against my side. "N-nathan?" I whispered softly, my mind having a hard time controlling my eye lids as they tried to shut.

"I'm right here Alan," I heard him say, his paw touching mine gently.

"I love you." I told him softly.

"Shh..." Nathan said. I could hear the tears in his voice as he said, "Don't speak... just calm down sweety. Just rest."

I nodded my head and leaned back as the paramedics worked over me, my eyes closing as I felt tugging at my side. Everything went oddly cold... and then I blacked out.

**

When I woke, the first thing I smelled was pneumonia. I groaned softly and tried to sit up before I cried out in pain and fell back again, my eyes closing tightly as I reached a paw down to rub my side gently. "Alan!" I heard from my side, and turned my head to see Nathan sitting on the other bed in the room. He hopped up and walked over to me quickly, leaning down and hugging me gently. "Thank god you're awake," he said, rubbing his face into my neck.

I smiled and wrapped my arms around him as well, starting to rub his back and I squirmed a bit, "How long was I out?" I asked him.

"Three days," he said, nuzzling my neck. "You had to get two blood transfusions... luckily your mom and your brother both have the same bloodtype as you."

"Yea," I said with a chuckle, "O Negative isn't very common."

Nathan crawled onto the bed on my good side and snuggled into it, his eyes closed as he rested his head on my chest. "I was so worried about you," he said, rubbing my chest. I murred and closed my eyes, just relaxing with him.

"But I'm ok," I said, squeezing him. "Are you alright?" I asked him finally, "They looked like they were hurting you."

He looked down and twiddled his thumbs, biting his lip hesitantly and said, "It's alright... I've gotten over it."

"You can talk about it sweetheart," I told him softly, stroking him, "I am here for you." I squirmed a bit, blinking at the pang in my side before I settled back.

He shook his head and closed his eyes tightly, "No.." he said softly, "I'm more worried about you." He said, reaching up to stroke my cheek.

I nuzzled into his paw and smiled a bit, licking it gently and saying, "Really sweetheart, I'm fine."

He raised an eyebrow and moved his paw to my side where he slowly started to rub his finger gently over my bandages. I hissed and clenched my fist on the sheet where it rested and grunted. "Ok... I will be fine." I corrected myself as I glared at him.

He smiled and kissed me on the cheek, "Sorry honey." He said with a smile.

I rolled my eyes at him and then said, "Is my mom here?"

"Yea," Nathan said, resting his head on my chest and sighing contentedly. "She's probably still arguing with my mother outside the door."

"Really?" I asked, tilting my head.

"Yea," he said again, "My mom tried to yank me out of the room when she realized they had put us in the same room and the doctor told her that she couldn't move me, which made her angry, which made the doctor ban her from the hospital room, then my mom said some mean things, and your mother got angry at her, and they've been arguing about them ever since."

I sighed softly and rolled my eyes just as the room door opened. Travis quickly sidled in with Steven at his side and I smiled as I saw the little kit. "Hey there cutie!" I said happily as I saw the kit.

Steven, who had been looking down, threw his head up quickly and giggled happily as he pounced onto the bed and snuggled into my side, "Ow ow ow!" I said, closing my eyes and gritting my teeth.

"Oops, " he said quickly, blushing and pulling away a bit. "I'm sorry Alan.." he said, flattening his ears to his head.

"That's alright sweetie," I said shaking my head to get rid of the pain, "Just be more careful in the future..."

He nodded his head and said, "I will." He snuggled into my side, being very careful of my side, and I smiled as I started to rub his back, listening to his murrs happily.

I looked at Travis, "I owe you one bro." I told him.

He rolled his eyes and ruffled my headfur, "I got into the news and am now hailed as a hero. We're both getting medals from the mayor for helping bring in three serial rapists and I've gotten seven girls numbers since the news published the article."

I rolled my eyes and grinned at him, "Then I guess I owe you nothing."

He grinned and then opened the door again and said, "Hey doc, he's awake."

There was a cease to the soft muttering(which was probably louder outside the door) and the doctor, my mother, and Nathan's father entered the room. The first thing that happened was Nathan's father was hugging me, his arms squeezing my shoulders tightly for a second before he pushed himself back, "Whatever my wife says," he says softly, looking down at me, "You're allowed to come over any time. I don't care anymore, she isn't stopping you anymore."

I blushed and smiled up at him, "Thank you sir." He smiled and patted my cheek before kissing my forehead and stepping back.

My mom was next, she hugged me and did the standard mom bit, hugging my head to her chest and crying, "Thank god you're alright," she said, her eyes closed as she stroked my cheek. I just smiled and took her paws, pushing her back gently.

"I'm fine mom," I said, looking up at her.

She sniffed and wiped her eyes, going to sit in the chair at the side of the room. I looked at the doctor and bit my lip, looking at him expectantly. He smiled a bit and flipped pages on his clipboard, "Well," he said, "For the most part the blade missed everything inside of you, though it did clip your bladder."

My heart thudded in my chest and I started to grow nervous until, "But it will heal perfectly over the next few days, you'll just have a bit of a weak bladder until then."

I sighed in relief and rubbed my forehead and said, "What else?"

"There really is nothing else," he said as he looked at his clipboard, "We'll want to keep you here for the next few days while we make a few more observations and while your side heals and then you're free to go. Rest for the rest of today, then tomorrow you can start walking to see how it feels on your side."

"Thanks doctor," I said, smiling at him.

He smiled and said, "Just doing my job."

I shrugged, "It's a great job."

**

Three days later Nathan, Travis and I were walking through the hospital, heading down towards the cafeteria. "Last day here," I said with a groan, the pain in my side was small now, but still a bit of an irritation.

Nathan smiled and rubbed my arm a bit, smiling up at me. "Don't worry, we'll get ya out of here big guy." We sat down at a table and I leaned forward, banging my head against it.

Nathan laughed louder and put his paw on the table, "If you hurt your head you're just going to be here longer silly."

I rolled my eyes and Travis dropped a tray in front of me. "Here jerk," he said, "Making me get your lunch."

I grinned a bit, "What's the matter with you? Your date not go so well?"

He shrugged a bit and said, "Nope. This one was a total bitch, and only cared about my cock."

I grinned a bit wider and said, "Did ya give it to her?"

He shrugged and blushed a bit, "No point in passing up a whore..."

I hit him with a laugh and started to eat. The hospital food wasn't exactly bad, but neither was it French cuisine. Travis had gone out on a date with three of the girls he had gotten numbers from, and so far had reported all of them the same. Bitches.

As I was eating, we idly chatted until, all of a sudden, Nathan's mom dropped onto the bench in front of us. I tensed up a bit but she just looked at me. She pointed her finger at me and said, "You get this straight... my husband can say whatever he wants to say, but I don't want you anywhere near my son."

I glared at her and so did Nathan, "I love Nathan," I said simply as I looked at her, "And nothing you can do can stop us from seeing each other."

"You want to bet? I could probably..." she started, but Travis cut in.

"You ungrateful bitch," he blurted at her.

She stared at Travis in shock and said, "Excuse me? But what gives you the right..."

"To speak to you like that?" he said, standing up and putting his paws on the table, looking down at her. "What gives you the right to speak to Alan like that? He jumped into the middle of three men, all larger than he is, to save your son from a very brutal sounding rape," at this, Nathan whimpered softly, but Travis went on, "And you have the audacity to disapprove of him for something he can't help?"

She scowled and said, "He could have just not gotten bit in the first place."

Travis stared at her and said, "He got bit holding the werewolf off of his girlfriend." She blinked twice and opened her maw to say something but Travis barreled right over her, "People like you disgust me... blindly hating someone for something they don't really understand just because something bad happened to them in the past. You sit here and try to stop your only son from loving someone because he's a werewolf because your parents got killed by them," that made her blink in shock, and Nathan, and I bit my lip, suddenly regretting telling Travis about it, "and even after he saves him from who knows what, you still try to act like he's the scum of the earth. Maybe you should judge yourself before you judge someone else."

Nathan's mom was shaking a bit as she stood up. She was totally livid and she opened her maw a few times, but nothing came out. She turned and stormed away as Travis slid back into his seat. "Well," he said after a bit. "That was fun."
