#3 of Whispers In The Dark series
Part 2 of Whispers In The Dark.
ugh... just something quick I wrote down while I had it fresh in my mind. I only reviewed it a few times, unlike what I did with WITD, and just wanted to keep things updated.
Kane(my boyfriend's fursona) would be a new character that steps in to take care of Takiro~

It was the middle of the night, and all of the stores and bars were closing in the small town. A white wolf, having worked all day was just driving home, wanting to just lay in his bed and sleep his day off away. He was now wearing a loose white tee along with comfortable jeans he changed into after work. He had chin-length black hair, along with strange markings that trailed from his left cheek down his neck and beneath his shirt. His eyes were a light, sky blue that centered his warm face. While driving, he was daydreaming, or actually falling asleep which was likely enough. First, he had the thoughts of strangling his boss for making him work overtime, then he consciously saw someone walk out in front of his moving car, causing him to jump and slam on the breaks with a deafening screech.
His car skidded to a stop a few feet from the figure that continued to stand there, causing him to sigh in relief that he didn't hit anyone. That was, until he realized who was standing there. He stared at the naked fox, her eyes wide with fright as she had her arms wrapped tightly around herself. "What the..." he muttered as he quickly climbed out of the car, moving over to her carefully.
She visibly jumped when the car door opened, causing her to take a step back from the white wolf that approached her. He could see that she was shaking, probably from the fear of almost being hit by a car. "Are you okay?" he asked her, carefully reaching out a paw towards her.
She stepped back as the stranger extended a paw out towards her, her nerves having been shot after almost being run over. She was shaking so much, she looked as if she was having a small seizure standing. What he noticed quickly was that she was covered in bruises and scratches beneath her fur. Her wrists were bandaged and her hips looked as if they were bleeding from a wound. The wolf blinked in confusion when she did not answer his question, and wondering how she obtained injuries from head to toe, glancing around to notice a few passerby's had stopped to stare. He frowned and threw off his warm leather jacket in a swift motion, carefully placing it around the skittish fox's bare shoulders, at least to cover her up a bit.
"Come with me, let's get you off the street at least." he offered, motioning her to his car before he carefully lead her to the passenger door. He opened the door with a click and quietly ushered her in, who went without a word or complaint. He closed the door as carefully as he could before running around to get in on the driver's side.
He sat there for a moment before glancing at the fox, noticing that she was staring at him with a scared look on her face. He blinked and turned to look at her fully, causing her to cringe back. "Hey, I'm not gonna hurt you." he reassured, watching as her look changed from scared to confusion as she curled up in the seat, hugging her tail closely to her chest. He watched her reaction for a moment before he turned back to drive off to get out of the middle of the street.
As he drove towards his home, he realized he has a closely naked fox in his car, a beautiful one at that. Though, the scared look on her face and the look of her ruffled appearance showed that she might have gone through something horrific. Five minutes have passed in total silence, and he wondered if he should try to talk to the frail vixen.
"I'm sorry for almost running you over, I was kinda falling asleep, but luckily I didn't hit you. That would've been horrible." he half-heartedly joked, but that was only greeted by silence once more. He glanced over to her to see half of her face buried in her tail, the other half watching him with wide eyes. He blinked slowly and returned his eyes to the road. "So, what's your name?" he asked, glancing at her once more. No response. "Do you have a name?" he tried again. No response. He frowned, wondering if she could speak or not. "Well, want me to take you home?" he asked carefully. He heard a soft whine, glancing at her to see the fox shaking her head, hugging her tail closer to her chest as if to hide in it.
He blinked with a frown, wondering what that was about before staying silent, now focusing on getting home.

After another ten minutes of silence, they finally made it to the wolf's home, a small house surrounded by trees. He worked hard to earn his home, six years worth of saving most money he earned to get out of his parents house only a year ago.
Pulling up in the driveway, he turned the car off and got out, going around to open the passenger door only to startle the fox a great amount. She yelped and jumped, shaking like a leaf as she stared up at him with big eyes. "It's alright. I'm just gonna help you out." he reassured, carefully lifting her into his arms while being careful of her surface injuries. She only let out a small whimper as she curled up, hiding her face from his gaze.
He carefully unlocked and opened the front door, walking in and shutting it with a small kick of his foot. The girl in his arms jumped at the sound in his arms, her shaking seeming to grow. "I'm gonna put you down, and I'm just gonna turn on the light, okay?" he told her, not expecting to get a response as he carefully set her down on her feet, moving back to flick on the light switch.
The fox let out a soft eep, rubbing her eyes for a moment before she seemed to look around. He watched her with a soft smile before carefully leading her to the tan couch of his small living room, which only contained the couch, a lamp, a recliner, small coffee table and a large dresser that hid his television and game systems. His place looked a bit dull, off-white walls with light tan flooring, nothing too special. Across the living room from the entrance was the kitchen, half-hidden by a wall, then opens up through an open doorway. Off to the right was where two bedrooms and a bathroom lie down the short hallway, the same dull color covering the rest of the house.
The wolf had carefully set her down on the soft couch, motioning for her to stay there as he ran off to dig around in the kitchen cabinets before coming back with a small first aid kit. He kneeled in front of her, doing a quick examination before he began on her wrists. "Can I...?" he hesitated, holding her left wrist in his paw. She did not answer, her head down with her hair covering her face. He frowned and returned his gaze down to the dirty bandages, carefully peeling them off to reveal the stitched wounds that seemed to look fine and was healing well. He wrapped that wrist in new bandages and done the same with the other, noticing what looked like red burn marks that seemed to circle her wrists in some places. This got him curious as he moved on to the small scratches around her body, bandaging those up too after cleaning them.
What was next caught him a bit off guard. There were four, jagged claw marks on each side of her hips, as if someone kept digging their claws into her hips. This made it obvious of what she had gone through, which made him well up with anger. He took a deep breath and calmed himself as he cleaned and bandaged those wounds up as if to hide them.
He looked back up at her, noticing that she had not moved during his examination, her head still bowed. "Hey, everything's alright now..." he murmured quietly, sitting down next to her on the couch. She finally looked up, and he finally noticed her eyes. They were big and a beautiful ocean blue that seemed to still have a glint of life in them, meaning that she had not given up on her life. The wolf had the urge to reach out and touch her cheek, staring into those big eyes before he noticed her cheek was red and horribly bruised.
He blinked slowly and smiled warmly at her. "Can you speak? You don't have to if you don't want to." he asked her, wanting to know more about this beautiful creature. He face seemed to change to confusion before she slowly nodded. Finally an answer!
"Well, my name is Kane Taiven. What's yours?" he asked her once more, wondering since now she is in no danger, she might open up a bit. But she seemed to stare at him and quietly muttered,"I-I'm... Takiro Ryn..."
Kane's smile seemed to widen without realizing it as he heard her soft voice, sounding like a quiet angel to him. At his smile, her face changed to one of uncertainty and brought her legs up onto the couch, hugging her knees to her chest as if to hide herself. Kane's smile faded a bit until he realized she was still mostly naked, other than his jacket around her shoulders. "Oh, let me get you some clothes to wear." he muttered before quickly getting up to move down the hallway, coming back a minute later with a few garments in his paws. "My little sister used to stay with me and she left some of her clothes here, I think they might fit you." he spoke, gently taking her paw to help her up and to lead her to the bathroom. "Just go ahead and try these on, see if you like them." he smiled at her, handing her the clothes and slowly closing the door.
He walked down the hallway and collapsed on the couch, letting out a heavy sigh. He has a girl in his house. A beautiful one. His friends wouldn't believe him unless they saw her, but she would probably be scared around strangers. He smiled sheepishly at the thought and shrugged it off, sitting up before he heard the bathroom door open, seeing Takiro walk out wearing a grey tank top that seemed a bit long on her, and black pajama pants that dragged along the floor a bit at her feet, but it had fit her pretty well.
"Well, that looks good enough to sleep in, if it works for you." Kane shrugged, getting up and leading her back down the hallway towards the room opposite of the bathroom. "You can stay in my sister's room tonight, she won't mind since she doesn't stay here anymore." he explained, opening the door to reveal soft purple walls and plush white carpet, a queen bed in the center of the room with the headboard against the far wall, a few dressers around the room along with a closet by the door.
Kane noticed that her eyes seemed to widen as she slowly walked in, her eyes roaming around the room. He smiled a bit and reached for the door. "If you need anything, I'll be in the room next to the bathroom." he explained before slowly closing the door. "Goodnight, Takiro Ryn." he said as the door clicked shut. He stood there for a minute, and before moving to go into his room, he heard two words come from his sisters room that his keen sense of hearing had picked up. Words that made him smile.
"Thank you."
