The Gate-Way Revisited: Chapter 12 Celebrating A Job Well Done

Chapter 12 Celebrating a job well done
Trevor hopped back and forth excitedly, tail flicked as he looked around. He turned over a shiny new watch in his black paws he had found and rescued from someone's pocket. He couldn't believe how careless some people could be. They could have broken this fantastic thing. He couldn't understand why people kept on insisting he stole their things, they were shinny and fantastic, they had to be kept safe. His ears perked and head flew up as Jake cleared his throat. The young red fox listened as Jake spoke.
"You've all been working very hard lately, stores of equipment are full and you have all had great scores in training." Jake smiled proud of the team of furs that stood before him. "That is why Ethan and I feel that everyone deserves to take this weekend to go into town and relax. Go see friends, or family. Anything you want. I hear they have a carnival on the pier, so that might be worth going to."
Jake waved his paws to silence the cheering, "We spend a lot of time training but sometimes it is good for us to remember what we are training for, who we're protecting. Now get out of here!"
Everyone applauded and cheered, relieved to have time to unwind after weeks of stressful training. Trevor bounced and twirled until he began to feel dizzy. The small fox darted out the door, his dress shirt flapping around him as he ran. He had been working as part of the team for years now, ever since Jake had found him alone in a parallel world that had been under attack by The Corporation. He had been so scared leaving everything he knew behind, but Jake's promise that he would be safe and could protect people this way had proven true.
Jake had been in need of a pilot for one of his attack walkers. Trevor's high level of excitement and natural speed had made him a perfect candidate for the job and he had quickly fallen in love with his machine. Unfortunately he had yet to find an fur companion who returned his feelings. Maybe today, he thought. Maybe today I can find someone new.
He couldn't wait to get to the pier. Crowds made him nervous but the thought of fast rides and fireworks overcame his fear. Today would be a great day. Dashing over he plopped into the back seat of Ethan's Mercedes-Benz. Ethan may have hated driving but when he did it was always in style. The fox smiled at Matt as the arctic fox hopped in next to him in the back seat. Ethan got in much slower. Checking his rear view mirror, he frowned at Trevor who was bouncing in his seat
"Seat belt on hon, it's only a short trip but be safe."
Trevor smiled. Ethan sounded so much like a father to him. Growing up in an orphanage it was nice to have someone so caring in his life. Trevor yipped as Ethan slowly pulled them out of the driveway and out onto the road, sticking his head out of the window, ears plastered back by the wind and tongue flopping out.
Coughing and sputtering he sat back in his seat, his tongue hanging out. "Eww" he said as he wiped bits of bug off of it. Sighing he pulled out the watch he had found and resigned to play with it until they reached the pier. Ethan was singing along with a song on the radio to pass the time, throwing in bits of conversation to the lyrics. Matt hummed along in the background, as he watched the trees go by. He waved, surprised, as he watched Kyle and Leogenji drive past.
Of all the furs Matt had met during his week at the mansion they had to be his favourite. The Otter, Kyle, was a very determined person who constantly sought to improve himself. While there were times that he could lose himself to his work, he was also very down to earth, and had helped Matt a lot with his aim and his training. He had been blown away when Leo had shown him pictures of their wedding. It had looked so romantic and they both seemed very happy. They had been so handsome in their tuxedos, and as he sat there he witnessed a rare display of affection between the two. Normally Leo was too shy to let others in on special moments.
Closing his eyes he lay his head back dreaming of what his wedding might be like one day.
*******************************************************************************************************
Waving them off Trevor turned and set off towards the fair grounds. A warm breeze blew in off of the bay and ruffled his fur, bringing with it the smell of salt water. The early afternoon sun was slowly creeping across the sky, glinting off the waves as they crashed against the beach. Trevor hummed excitedly as he stood in line. There were so many furs waiting to get into the park, some families with children, couples and teens. He couldn't help but smile as he spotted a gay couple with their otter pups in tow. The thought of finding a husband to have kids with filled him with excitement and joy. Thankfully all of the ticket counters were open and the lines were moving smoothly. It didn't take long for him to pass through the gate after purchasing a day pass that would let him on all the rides. His head and eyes flicking from left to right, unsure what he should try first.
Finally, he gave up trying to pick and closed his eyes, spinning around in a circle until he was dizzy he opened them and found himself staring at the bumper cars. Trevor yipped and dashed forward. The line was short and people were already getting on board the carts. A very bored looking black bear held a scanner up to his wrist bracelet, scanning it before waving him in to choose a cart. Hopping into a blue one with red stripes he squirmed excitedly in his seat as he waited for the near comatose bear to turn on the power and start the ride.
He yipped and stepped on the accelerator to join the mess of furs bouncing off the walls and into each other. He laughed hysterically as he sent a cheetah spinning and was bumped in turn by a young German shepherd who seemed to have trouble keeping her long hair out of her eyes. She smiled and winked at him, though Trevor ignored her and set his sights on a cute otter that was laughing as he zipped around the arena. Following behind the otter he succeeded in bumping him and spinning him around, waving playfully as he passed.
The otter took off after him and bumped him in return, disappearing before Trevor could straighten out his cart, only to find the shepherd girl bumping into him and flashing him a smile. Shaking his head at the strange girl he continued to zip around the arena locking onto new targets as he bumped and spun around the other furs.
All too soon the attendant blew his whistle to signal the end of the run. Parking his cart, the fox hopped out and padded off with the group to find more excitement. Following his feet he found himself at the base of one of the park's roller coasters. His ears twitched as he heard giggling from behind him. The same Shephard who had been dogging him earlier was in line behind him.
"I like your markings," she said smiling at him, her tail swinging behind her, as her fluffy golden curls bounced.
"Thanks," Trevor muttered, unsure how to act. It was hard enough when a cute guy talked to him, but to have some random girl flirt was incredibly off putting and scary. Thankfully the attendant waved him on and he was able to find himself a seat at the front of the cart next to a black lab whose knuckles were white from the grip she had on the safety rail. The strange shephard was forced to find a seat near the back. Yipping excitedly Trevor gripped the rail before him as the rollercoaster took off. Picking up speed, the rollercoaster spun through loops, twisting and turning as the passengers howled in excitement and screamed in terror. As it flipped itself and the riders upside down Trevor cheered as his paws hung free in the air as they plugged down out of the loop. However, as with the bumper cars, the ride was over sooner than Trevor would have liked. He sighed, panting as his body burned off the adrenaline as they slowed, pulling into the station.
Getting out Trevor made a run for it to escape the crazy Shepherd that had followed him onto the ride. He twisted and turned through the park, only slowing when he felt there was confident he'd put enough distance between them. Shaking his head he didn't know what else to do. Suddenly a strange smell drifted by. Sniffing the air he caught a whiff of deep fried delectables. Tummy grumbling he made his way over to the concession stand, and peered over the counter. A tray of deep fried oreos sat just waiting for him to eat. Licking his lips he asked the large bull attending the counter for a bag of the oreos, along with a chicken sandwich.
Tail wagging he pushed his way through the crowd, looking for somewhere free to sit. Following the scent of the sea Trevor made his way to the edge of the pier. Sitting down on a bench he gazed out over the swirling waters, boats bobbing slowly at their docks. Sighing happily he began to dig into his sandwich.
Ears twitching he heard a voice behind him, "Is this seat taken?" Turning Trevor found himself staring at the most beautiful pair of emerald green eyes he'd ever seen, they seemed to sparkle with flecks of ruby red. His tongue froze as he gazed over the body of the young hybrid standing before him. His luxurious thick coat of dark blue fur was dotted with hyena spots. His charcoal grey head fur was full and rich, growing down the back of his shirt and appearing as a tuft on the end of his long tail. The fur's jeans clung to his form and contrasted with his dark green t-shirt.
"N..no" Trevor stammered, blushing. "Please sit."
Flashing a smile that looked vaguely familiar the hybrid sat himself down before introducing himself. "I'm Kemper Fang, though my friends call me Kemp. I've been looking for somewhere to eat for a while now." Holding up a bottle of water he took a sip before unwrapping a submarine sandwich. Smiling he began to eat with gusto.
"I'm Trevor, I finally got a day off work and I decided to come here."
Pausing from his sandwich Kemp looked over at the fox, his head fur was an utter mess, but Kemp found he scruffy, perky fox cute.
"I've been here all day with my sister and she has been dragging me around all day. I haven't had a moment's peace. She's always trying to drag me around to find her someone cute." Kemp smiled and continued to eat, apparently oblivious to Trevor's tail wagging furiously as he stared, only paying slight attention to his sandwich.
"Is that the only reason she comes to the park? Or have you gone on any of the rides?" Trevor asked, trying to find out more about the cute hybrid next to him.
"She dragged me onto the bumper cars earlier and the rollercoaster." Kemp sighed, as he worked on his sub. "She is boy crazy...not that I blame her, but sometimes she needs to tone it down a little. I can't tell you how many guys she's scared off because she got too close and too confrontational."
"I've been having trouble losing this crazy girl who's been following me on the rides ..."
"Oh my" Kemp said grinning, "Can't be" the hybrid yipped as his phone went off in his pocket. Taking it out he read the text. "She wants to know where I am and if I've seen the cute ... Oh my. Well I told her where I am and she'll be here soon."
Pulling out a bag of cotton candy Kemp offered some to the cute red fox next to him, smiling as the fox squirmed excitedly in his seat. Trevors ears twitched as a familiar voice called out, "There you are Kempy, and who's this ... why hello handsome!"
Trevor groaned softly and turned to see the crazed Shepherd that had been following him around padding up to them. "Well Trevor, I know you've already met my sister but as you don't know her name, this is Valery. The boy chaser I was telling you about."
"Oh haha, you're one to talk, always running off with the guys I see first." Valery said, crossing her arms in a huff.
"Sis, it isn't my fault you have terrible gaydar," Kemp said with a grin, "And as always you refuse to listen to me."
"Well excuse me your highness, it's not my fault. The least you could do is help me find someone." Valery pouted and gazed at Trevor, "Let me guess this cute foxy is gay too? Going to steal him away from me too?"
"Fraid so sis" Kemp said, struggling to keep the grin off his muzzle, popping in a lump of cotton candy into his maw. "And it was only the one guy, and he came on to me. Besides you never had him in the first place."
"Wait, hold on, you're gay? And you think I'm cute?" Trevor was dumbstruck. He had hoped, but he was never this lucky, nor was he ever brave enough to do anything about it. Of course the bedroom was a whole different ball game, so to speak.
"You're the cutest guy I've seen all day, and my brother here is going to steal you from me."
"Half brother, same fathers, different mothers. And I wasn't going to steal him. He's not mine to steal. I'm sure a cute guy like him already has someone in his life."
Trevor blushed and looked away. "Actually I don't."
"Oh my," Kemp said sheepishly, "Well as repayment for my sister's behaviour would you like to get a bite to eat tonight?"
Blushing beneath his fur Trevor said "I'd love to."
******************************************************************************************************** Waving as Ethan drove off, Matt turned, tail swaying nervously as he approached his parents' house. The brown shutters on the upper windows creaked in the breeze. His father had claimed he was going to fix it. It seemed like he always had a project on the go. The worn, egg white siding was old but warm and welcoming. He smiled as he spotted his mother and father on the small but thickly furnished screened in porch. His mother sat rocking with her cooking magazine and cup of tea, her soft brown, greying head fur contrasting with her thick winter white coat. His father reclined on the couch, a pencil tucked behind his greying ears as he worked his way through a sudoku puzzle book. Both looked up as they heard him approach.
"Hello Mathew, did you have fun with Jake and the gang? That wasn't his car was it?" Said Matt's father. An avid car fan he repeated what had to be his catch phrase. "I used to own a car like that when I was younger, though they were a lot cheaper. You could get a bag of candy for 25 cents and gas didn't cost much more."
"Back during the time of rock wheels eh dad?"
Matt's mom smile and patted the chair beside her. "So how is Jake, and what have you two been up to? Has he asked you out yet?"
Matt's jaw hung open as a blush spread across his cheeks. "How...I'm not...who told you?" Matt stammered, shocked that his mother assumed Jake was into males, let alone knew Matt himself was gay.
"Oh come on Mathew, it's your mother. Don't you remember all the times she's caught you lying about things?" His father said with a grin. "And that poster of what's his name isn't exactly supporting your claim of being straight. Besides, the only ones I know who gossip with girls that much are other girls." Seeing the glare on Matt's face. "I'm kidding, we're your parents. We know these things, we raised you."
"Your dad is right, besides, you've never shown any interest in any of the girls at your school, never went to the dance with any of them."
"Okay you've made your point!" Matt glared.
"So he did ask you then?" his mom prodded.
"Yes, if you must know, he did."
"Hmph, took him long enough. Was beginning to wonder if I would have to give him a push myself."
"Mom!"
"Tell him he has to come to dinner now. We need to meet him properly." His mother continued.
"You've known him my entire life."
"It's different now you're together. I just hope you're being safe!" She exclaimed. Matt felt his heart stop. His eye went wide knowing exactly what his mother meant.
"What he and I do in private is none of your business Mother!" Matt yelled, ending the conversation. His father had buried himself into his puzzle, completely uncomfortable with the train of conversation. Latching onto any opportunity to move beyond discussion of his sex life, Matt pushed for dinner to start.
Digging in to the roast pork and potatoes his mother had made, Matt felt great to be back in his parents home. It felt much more cozy and inviting than the mansion did. His parents listened closely as he filled in the past week's events. Carefully leaving out the details of Shawn and the true purpose of the mansion.
Settling down on the couch the three of them decided it was a perfect night to watch a movie, something to celebrate Matt's official coming out and his new partner.
********************************************************************************************************
As Ethan dropped off Matt at his parent's house, he chuckled to himself. The arctic fox's parents had seemed genuinely perplexed when their son slid out of an expensive car in their driveway. Now Ethan turned his mind to the next task at hand: a date with Jake. Just the thought of the words seemed odd to him. It had been Jake's idea to practice his first official date with Matt, and Ethan was torn between thinking the idea absurd and completely adorable. Normally, Brad would have objected to something like this, but the tiger was conveniently away for the weekend visiting with a friend. Ethan had to admit that it would be nice to have the big bad wolf all to himself for a little while. Outside of work, he and Jake had a close bond which had been deeply missed the last few weeks of training by Ethan.
Picking up his cell phone, Ethan dialed Jake. The wolf picked up almost immediately. "Hey, where are you?! I really need your help!" Jake panicked.
"I leave you alone for five minutes to decide what to wear, and now all of a sudden the apocalypse is nigh?"
"Shut up and get back here please!" Jake pleaded.
"I just dropped off your boyfriend. I'll be back soon, Lover-boy," Ethan teased before hanging up the phone. No need to get back too soon then, he thought, grinning to himself. The car glided along the road effortlessly as Ethan took every back road he could find, purposefully taking as much time as possible to get home. When he finally pulled into the driveway of the mansion, he slid out of the car and padded up to the door.
The front door flew open before Ethan managed to get halfway there, and Jake stood in the open archway. "Where the hell have you been?!" he demanded.
"Better question: what the hell are you wearing?!" Ethan looked up and down the wolf in front of him who looked as if he was going to a black tie event. His hair was neatly coiffed, and he was wearing what could have passed as a suitable tuxedo.
"You said to dress nice," Jake retorted.
"Yeah, but are we going on a date or to a wedding? No, just no. Come with me," Ethan ordered. He grabbed Jake by the collar, who protested as he was pulled in tow upstairs.
Ethan's room was larger than a lot of the other rooms in the mansion. Since he shared it with Brad, the extra room was welcome. A massive, ornate four-poster bed sat centered on the back wall, its sheets neatly made. In the corner was Ethan's computer. Jake didn't know it, but he could control the whole house from this one room. Sitting catty-cornered next to a large bookshelf was a leather loveseat. The rest of the room was decorated with odds and ends Ethan had collected through careful selections. He led Jake into the room and immediately started pulling off the wolf's clothes until he stood in his underwear.
"Much better," Ethan grinned.
"But I'm naked..." Jake blushed.
"Sharp as a tack you are. Now follow me," Ethan ordered. Once again pulling Jake along, Ethan opened the door to a walk-in closet.
"How do you find your way around in here?" Jake asked in awe. His own closet was a small dresser in the corner of his room.
"Not everyone has the fashion range of a hobo, Jakey."
Ethan made his way around the closet tossing things at Jake to try on, while Jake stood perplexed as to how any of it would fit him. Trust me, was the only assurance he got from his friend. Somehow, the gentle giant managed to find him a shirt one size too small and a pair of faded blue jeans which fit him perfectly.
Ethan began rolling up the sleeves of the deep green button-up shirt he'd put on Jake, smiling at the wolf's confusion. "Don't you trust me by now Jakey?"
"It's too small though," Jake protested.
"It's fitted sweetie. It will show you off for him," said Ethan. He ruffled the wolf's head fur for good measure before giving him the stamp of approval. "Now, let's get this date started. What did you have planned?"
"Well I figured we would have a romantic evening in, y'know? Have Brad cook s-"
"Wrong. You're not having Brad cook anything. If you want romantic, cook it yourself. He'll appreciate it more!"
"But...I've never cooked anything for anyone really..." Jake responded. Immediately he regretted it, as Ethan grabbed his arm and dragged him out of the room. The pair made their way back down the stairs and toward the kitchen. Lights came on automatically as they entered the room.
"I thought Brad was the chef?"
"He is but you don't date a chef without learning about food. What does Matt like to eat?" Ethan probed.
Deciding to make salmon, Jake was led by Ethan around the kitchen to collect ingredients for the evening's dinner. He followed Ethan's instruction to the letter, getting started with the rice. He diligently stood by as the salmon cooked, making certain it was perfect. The evening was coming along nicely, until Ethan tossed some fresh broccoli at him.
"What do I do with this?"
"It would be easiest to blanch it."
Jake stood there with a blank stare, wondering what blanch meant. Ethan simply rolled his eyes and padded up behind Jake. Maneuvering Jake's arms for him, the wolf cut the broccoli, preparing it for the water.
"All you have to do is cut it into smaller pieces like this," said Ethan. Jake's ears twitched as Ethan spoke softly into them. "Now add it to the water. We want it to keep a bright green color so we don't want to cook it in that for too long," he continued as he kissed Jake's cheek.
After dinner, Jake brought Ethan to the movie screening room. Unlike typical movie theaters, this room had been designed with absolute comfort in mind. Each seat was large enough for two furs, and heavily padded. An assortment of candies, sodas, and a popcorn machine sat in the back of the room, and a large screen covered the front wall.
"Remind me why you need me to walk you through this part? It's a movie, surely you can do that on your own." Ethan groaned, teasingly.
"Because I'm nervous about how I should act during the movie." Jake muttered.
"Jake...it's no different with a male than it is with a female."
"Well I want to make sure I do it right then...it's been a while..."
"Well I'm sure you do it just fine but alright." Ethan grinned.
"I meant like how do I decide who holds who?" Jake retorted, but Ethan was no longer paying attention. He was already standing at a computer screen on the wall, scrolling through the movie selection.
Unable to decide on a movie, Ethan set the computer to randomly select a romantic comedy. He padded back over to Jake and took his paw, leading him to one of the plush seats in the front of the room. Plopping down into the soft cushions, he patted the space next to him, requesting Jake's presence. As Jake took a seat, Ethan curled his legs up and leaned against his chest, pulling an arm around himself. It seemed strange to Jake to be holding someone so much bigger than himself, but he didn't question it. Gently, Jake rested his muzzle between Ethan's fluffy grey ears.
"And you thought you needed help with this." Ethan smiled.
"So..I should just hold him then?"
"It's what's most comfortable for you right now, so it's fine."
Ethan's tail thumped quietly on the couch as he felt Jake relax, both of them becoming immersed in the movie.
"I had a lot of fun today," Jake said at last. "Thanks for doing this with me."
"I really enjoyed it, I missed doing stuff with you as friends." Ethan said as he looked up at Jake. "It's been so long since you and I had time to unwind, and this was a great night."
"We need to do this more often," said Jake as he smiled at Ethan.
"Agreed"
The movie unfolded on screen, though the pair of wolves were too enraptured in their conversation to truly notice. Gradually Ethan sank lower and lower against Jake's chest, enjoying his friend's newfound comfort with intimacy. His eyes grew heavy as the night wore on, until finally he drifted off next to Jake.

Leo thumped his foot impatiently as he waited for Kyle to finish fixing his outfit. He sighed and rubbed his muzzle, his dark paws contrasting with his white muzzle. Ears twitching he heard the sound of Kyle huffing as he finally put on a pair of shoes. The otter was truly one of a kind Leo thought. No matter what he did, whether it was work or play everything always had to be perfect.
Leo understood the importance of looking good and loved to get dressed up, even going so far as to groom the tuft of fur at the end of his long striped tail, but Kyle had spent hours getting ready. Leo was tempted to compare him to some of his girlfriends in that respect. Though the otter was a passionate person, Leo thought blushing deeply as he remember coming home to a bed of rose petals and scented candles.
Finally Kyle appeared before him, looking as sexy as ever for their date, a loose dress shirt over his black jeans. Leo always wondered how he could be so lucky as to have landed such an amazing partner. Kyle smiled and put his paws on Leo's hips, pulling him into a tender kiss, looking into his soft glowing eyes.
"Ready to go my love?" Kyle asked.
"I've been ready for the last two hours," Leo responded faking a huff.
Putting his arm through Leo's, who reluctantly allowed this display, Kyle led the couple off to the car. Hopping in they spotted a trio of furs as they sped off. Spinning the wheel Kyle took off after them. It wasn't long before they were rolling smoothly along the road, only passing one other car on their way into town.
Leo was very excited and also very nervous. He loved being with Kyle. The otter was one of the people who made his life so happy. However, the thought of being in public and of how affectionate Kyle liked to get scared him. He loved his partner dearly, but he worried what others thought of them and couldn't take the looks he got, or thought he got.
His coming out had not been a complete success and there had been those who hated him for it. His greatest fear was a repeat of those times. Before he knew it Kyle had pulled them up in front of the restaurant they had chosen for their nights meal.
"Good evening sirs, do you have a reservation?" The waiter asked them as they stepped through the door of the restaurant.
"Yes, Leogenji, table for two." Leo said, his tail swaying slowly behind him.
"If you'll please follow me sirs we have a wonderful table by the window overlooking the lake set up for you." The waiter smiled at them as he led them to their table. The restaurant buzzed with the hum of conversation, but the quiet atmosphere was very nice and relaxing. "So are you two on a date, or anniversary?"
Leo clammed up blushing, but Kyle was unfazed. "We're here celebrating our fifth year together."
"Oh congratulations, my sister just proposed to her girlfriend last week." The waiter said smiling warmly, setting out their tables. "I thought you two might be together, you are such a cute match. I'll be back soon to take your order. I hope you both have a wonderful evening here with us."
The pair sat down Kyle and began to thumb through the wine selection as Leo nervously began to look at appetizers.
Not looking up from the menu Kyle smiled, "Honey relax will you. I know you aren't very open but the waiter wasn't exactly put off now was he?"
"You're right, I'm sorry." Leo said with a sigh. "I just always picture the worst when people find out."
Holding up his paw Kyle said "We have been together for a long time now. I know you and I know how you are. Though in all that time we've never had a problem with anyone. The past is the past my love" Reaching out he took hold of Leo's paw and smiled at the red panda. He gave his paw a gentle squeeze as the waiter returned. He felt Leo quiver but the panda kept his paw out in the open.
"Here is some water and bread to start. Did you want an appetizer? Or shall we start on the main course?"
"Well I'd like the soup of the day and a glass of white wine," Leo said. "And the baked halibut with almond slices sounds wonderful."
"I'd like a caesar salad, a glass of red wine, for dinner I would like the steak, medium rare, with mushrooms and onions please."
"Perfect guys. It should only take a little while for your dinner to get here. I'll be back with your appetizers and drinks.
Joining the quiet buzz of conversation the pair pondered the new development between Jake and Matt. The news had spread through the mansion like wildfire. They hadn't seen Jake with anyone for a long time. They were glad their leader had finally found someone who made him smile.
Leo and Kyle thanked their waiter as he returned and dug into their meal with gusto. Both of them could cook well and enjoyed doing so, but sometimes treating themselves to a date night was the perfect way to relax. The food at the restaurant was well worth the wait. Leo's fish had been seared to perfection and Kyle's steak made his mouth water from the smell.
As they ate they continued their conversation. Leo began to relax more as he began to notice quite a few other gay and lesbian couples dotted around the restaurant. Many were with friends or just on a date. Even a young shy couple who looked like they were on their first date was included in the mix. He pointed them out to Kyle and sighed as he remembered their first date and how nervous he had been. It had well been worth it. Five years later he was sitting with the love of his life.
Sitting back after finishing their meal, the two smiled at each other, paws linked across the table. Their waiter brought them their bill shortly after, receiving a generous tip from the very satisfied couple.
The ride back home seemed much shorter than the drive into town had. As they reached their part of the mansion, Kyle lifted up Leo in his arms, causing the panda to meep in surprise. Leo blushed as the otter carried him over the threshold and lay him on the couch. Popping in a movie he hopped back with Leo to snuggle as the movie began.
Leo murred happily as his lover pulled him close, wrapping his arms around the otter as they watched the movie. Leo turned, staring into Kyle's eyes. Smiling happily, he leaned forward to meet Kyle's lips with his own. Caressing the otter's face Leo blushed as he felt his pants tighten and a bulge below him.
"Shall we retire to the bedroom?" Leo asked sheepishly.
"Sounds good my love"
Leo grinned and pulled Kyle up, walking arms around each other in a passionate embrace as they made their way to the bedroom.

In a skyscraper overlooking the thriving metropolis nightlife below, an ebony black dragon gazed out at a city oblivious to what sat under their very noses. The Corporation executive smirked, wondering what people would say if they knew of the horrors that went on behind these walls. A forced cough from behind interrupted his musings, reminding him of his guest.
The conference room was mostly bare, save for a long table with high-backed chairs. A single lamp in the center of the table provided the only source of light, leaving most of the space cast in heavy shadows. A lone figure sat at the farthest chair drumming his fingers as he waited to be acknowledged by the executive.
"You're certain no one suspects you're here?" the dragon questioned.
"That's not really any of your concern is it?" the mystery guest replied.
"Straight to business then."
There was a large thud on the table as the stranger tossed a large manila folder toward the dragon. "Dossiers on the wolf...and his friends, including details on the more recent...addition to the team I think you'll find quite interesting."
"What good are dossiers to me? I can get this information easily without your help," the dragon pondered as he licked at his pointed teeth with his serpentine tongue.
"I'm infinitely more useful to you alive if that's what you're getting at, Executive."
"And why is that?"
"Because unlike your other informants, I have a face they already trust. I can get them for you...all of them..." The figure let his words sink in momentarily. It didn't take long. The dragon had heard exactly what he needed.
"I believe we have an agreement."
