The First Day

On a cruiser in deep space even a Commander needs a little down time. If only his ship could stay in one piece so his engineer could play with something other than her tools of the trade.

Heavy combat boots thudded loudly against metal before sliding to rest at the foot of the Commander's locker. The wolf ignored them. Taking a deep breath he inhaled the stale dry air in his quarters.

Damn aircon is down again he thought. A broad smile crossed his face as he grabbed a sweatshirt and finished changing.

Great excuse to go to see Sparky.

Flexing his bare feet on the steel grilled floors he wiggled his toes against the cool metal.

God its good to be free.

Exiting his cabin the Commander whistled happily down the corridor to the ship's lift.

"The other socket wrench," a frustrated female growled from underneath the shuttle. The vehicle had been half stripped and currently resembled little more than a heap of parts loosely held together by a buckled frame under which the vixen had wedged herself in order to work.

She could hear the sound of scurrying feet beside her. There was a whisper and the feet scurried away.

"The wrench!" she called to the scurrying feet.

The Commander heard her sigh from under the buggy. Smiling, he lowered the socket wrench and tapped her on the knee.

"Is this what you are looking for?"

She could hear the smile in his voice. A soft smooth croon that could melt ice on the coldest of days. She shivered. Taking the wrench, she continued to work, wrestling with the pile of metal on top of her. Her work space suddenly seemed much smaller than a moment ago. She gushed to herself, realising that in the wolf's presence she had inadvertently pushed her chest out and was now practically trapped under the buggy.

"A little help...please?"

The wolf heaved, his muscles rippling as he lifted the front of the shuttle to free his engineer. She slid out and looked up at him. A fresh streak of greasy oil across her face matched the grime and dirt on her shirt uniform. He extended his paw to help her to her feet. Not ungrateful, she took it. Holding it tightly so as not to be flung across the room by the wolf's massive strength.

"Thank you Commander."

"My pleasure Sparky," he smiled, watching her eyes light up as he used her pet name. She turned away from him to adjust her uniform. He watched from the corner of his eye. No-one could fill out a uniform like she could. Her large breasts tested the buttons of her shirt every day. Her work pants hugged her tight butt and thighs. They were so tight he thought he could see...

"Something I can do for you Commander?" Her sultry voice interrupted his thoughts.

The wolf caught himself licking his lips and stopped.

"The... er..there's no air...in," he stuttered, suddenly becoming aware of his own uniform test with a rapidly growing bulge in his pants.

"Something you need me to take care of Sir?" The vix smiled, letting him know she had seen his growing discomfort.

He was about to answer her when a loud siren screamed through the engineering bay. The ship heaved, an explosion radiating a shockwave through the bay that knocked them nearly off of their feet. The wolf held his ground, his toes curled through the metal grill of the floor. The vix fell into his arms, her heaving bust pressed against his chest.

_Hurray for happy accidents_he thought before scowling himself for his flirtatious reaction when he should have been thinking about the safety of his ship and her crew.

Helping the fox to her feet again the Commander regained control of himself.

"Aircon in my quarters is on the blink again. When you have time Sparky." He smiled, but she saw the disappointment in his eyes. "Hope we don't have anything else that needs fixing," the wolf growled, turning to head toward the sound of the explosion.

"If we do,, I may need some more...tools," the viz purred after him. "And a paw that knows how to use it."

She missed the wolf's grin as he left the engineering bay. But her sensitive lynx ears caught the faintest sound of a whine as his footsteps quickened.

For the first time that day, the vix smiled.
