Chapter 1: Hotel Murder
Years in the future
Alex's Point of view
The rain was coming down heavy and their seemed to be no end to the storm. It was one of those dark cloudy days when I got to the crime scene at the hotel. I stepped out, the sound of the car's engine dying down, the street sounds overwhelming as I went through the lobby, the others waiting for me.
Then the shoulder radio crackled into life:
"Alex you at the scene yet?" ask the dispatcher.
I spoke into the air, hoping the audio system would pickup this time.
"Now arriving at your destination." the G.P.S. said a little too late. Already here," I replied, my eyes coming to rest on what we were called out for. Laying spread eagle out on the ground was a young pretty woman, hair a dark brown. The other detective, my partner, Kouji Ginsenshi and canine by his side both looking over the body; both set of eerily brown gray eyes looking over everything.
"You know it's still weird that you're here, right?" I said to him as I walked up behind the both of them.
"No weirder then you." He replied, his hand on his canine's head. "Anything Kuro?" he asked, his augmented canine partner. Kuro looked up at him, a look of knowing on his face, transmitting Kuro's thoughts to Kouji's brain implants.
"Hmmm... I see so hit over the head and then strangled to death." Kouji said somewhat to himself.
"Are you sure about that? I asked, "You know canine O-STAR isn't that good as yours, are they?"
"If you can learn to trust me, you can learn to trust Kuro." Kouji replied with some resentment in his voice towards me.
"Their just newer tech, you know, Kouj?" I replied the same resentment in my voice.
It's not like I don't like Kuro or anything, it's just weird having a canine on scene. Kouji and I have been friends for years, but after Kouji lost his sight it was hard getting to re-know my friend. Kouji was chosen to be a test subject of the O-Star system that was said to give him his sight back and it did. But it also gave him other things to worry about.
"HEY, ALEX! ALEX?!" Kouji said, one of his hands waving in front of my face.
"Huh? Oh sorry Kouj... yeah I'm here, somewhat." I replied to Kouji my eyes not on him.
"It's just... doesn't she look familiar?" I replied my eyes now fully taking in the woman's pretty looks. "Hey patrolman Brooks, come over here." I shouted to one of the men on the barriers to the general public.
"Yes Detective?" Brooks said as he came over to Kouji and me. "Doesn't she look familiar?" I asked as Brooks looked over the body. Brooks took a few minutes to look over the body, and finally replied; "Yeah ... isn't that the Creator of Detective Ginsenshi's eyes?" Brooks asked, his left hand going to his Smart Phone. "Yeah..." Brooks begin with surprise in his voice. "Boss... I think I have an article here."

Farther research into the use of the bionic eye and use of the O-Star system for wearer's and side effects of prolonged usage of the system used by the Blind and similar systems for use by people with disabilities. The Creator, Kaida Weston, first started working on the system when her brother, Taichi, became blind from a car accident. Working on the system for five years and many test subjects the system was finally approved and the first real world usage test began. The first was a Detective from the pre selected candidates.
Brooks put down the mobile phone and looked at the woman again. "Looks like it's her." Brooks said, now as he looked towards Kouji and me.
"So Kouj, who would kill Miss. Weston?" I asked, as I turned to Kouji and Kuro. Kuro sitting by Kouji's side. Kouji's hands were running through Kuro's fur on his head, a look of thought on his face.
"Well maybe someone who really hated her." Kouji began, sounding unsure of himself, his hands still running through Kuro's fur. Then suddenly his face lit up with a smile. "You know, I once heard of a rival company who worked with the black market." He finished, his hands no longer playing with kuro's fur.
"Okay there's our first lead then let's get on it." I said as the C.S.I. guys finished checking out the crime scene and covered the body of Miss Weston.
