Chapter 2: Home , sweet... danger ?!
The sun has fallen even lower in the sky, as Shuichi, Kouji and Kuro return home to the old brown-stone, parking in the drive way, and shutting off the engine. Shuichi and Kouji unbuckle, exiting the car, letting Kuro out, the lights to the front door light up as they approach the first one. Shuichi stops Kouji in his steps , a arm across his chest.
"Hey Kouj wait a minute." He whispers in a low voice, Kouji's ears raise up at the slight sound of apprehension.
"Yeah, Shu, I know somethings wrong here," Kouji replies,as he draws his side arm, taking his stands, as Shuichi follows his own sidearm in hand.
The two approach the front door, finding it broken open, large pieces of it lay just inside the doorway, the sound of heavy foot steps can be heard from above on the second floor, the sounds of broken glass cracking as someone step on the pieces.
Shuichi silently, he leans into the doorway, listening intently. He holds the side arm firmly in hand. Taking his first into the house, he treads softly. Shu walks forward, listening intently as he moves through the house. Shuichi signals Kouji every now and then to keep him from stepping on debris. Shu walks up the stairs to the second floor.
Shu heads up the stairs, surveying the area carefully and keeping an eye Kouji and Kuro, he gets to the second floor and sees the intruder. Aiming his gun carefully he shouts to the intruder. " Police! Freeze! Don't move!"
The intruder acts like he obeys and picks a nearby lamp and throws it at the couple. Shuichi dodges it, as does Kouji., Kuro being to low to the ground to worry about the thrown lamp. With the guys distracted, the intruder runs down the stairs and out the front door,
All three give a long drawn out sigh,
"Well besides your mom's lamp anything else broken?" Came Kouji's question, as he as he kneels down petting Kuro. Shuichi looks around the upstairs, seeing the wall-safe broken open, the door off its hinges.
"Well they must have wanted something and targeted us, the wall safe has been broken into."
Shuichi is now kneeling next to Kouji and Kuro, a look of being lost on his face.
"Well let's call it in and look for anything else missing,"
Shuichi gently petted Kuro's head and looks around at the scene of destruction. Everything in the room has been tossed and nothing is where it originally was. Kouji sighs sadly and pulls the radio from his pocket and radioed the call to dispatch.
they begin to look around their home, finding nothing missing but the stuff from the wall-safe, "Only thing in the wall safe was my file notes from the Weston murder, " Kouji says to the open air
