The rustle of leaves tickled his ears as he crept through the underbrush. He felt a tug against his shoulder, a frustrated grumble and curse escaped his lips as he disentangled his bag for what seemed like the millionth time today.

“Oh, for the love of - come on!” Andy Redwood flicked his bushy tail in agitation as he tried to use his tiny squirrel claws to shred through the vines he’d managed to get snagged on. But to no avail.

With a sigh, he gave in and unclipped his shoulder strap. “Knew I should’ve just brought a backpack,” he muttered under his breath. “Stupid messenger bag.” Once untangled, he wiped a paw across his brow, his reddish fur was matted with sweat. While he was no stranger to heat, this jungle was far more humid than he’d thought.

Still, he couldn’t say the trip wasn’t worth a little discomfort. A smile played upon his lips as he pulled a small notebook out of his bag and looked around for a place to rest his tired paws. Up ahead, a downed tree trunk lay in the shade of two of its brethren, away from the bulk of the tangling vines that had vexed him so. Save for a rather thick one that hung from high in the treetops, swaying lazily in the breeze. Not a bad spot to rest and check over his notes.

Andy scampered over to the tree trunk, glancing around quickly to check for any signs of predators. They were fun to watch and interesting to research, so many hunting methods and ways to trap prey! But they were best observed from a distance. Preferably, downwind so they wouldn’t turn their hungry eyes upon him.

He sat himself down and hummed a tune. His trip had yielded plenty of information on tigers, crocodiles, some of the larger birds, and a rather close view of an unfortunate bunny being squeezed tight by a vibrant green python.

Wrinkling his snout, Andy flicked his tail. There was something about that bunny and python he found weird, if he recalled. He flipped to that section of his notes, his ears stood up straight. “Ah, right.” A half smile made its way across his muzzle.

The quick sketch he’d managed to get done showed a contented smile spread across the bunny’s face, and a matching one on the python’s. Almost like they were enjoying it. How curious. Who would enjoy being caught in a snake’s coils? With their powerful muscles holding some poor animal tight while their captor loomed over them?

A rustle in the trees made him start. Andy’s eyes darted about, his ears stood up to their full height. The vine hanging from the trees was gone.

He leapt to his paws, turning about to check his surroundings. Another rustling of leaves sounded from just behind him, Andy jumped and whirled about, dropping the notebook in his haste as he came face to face with a wall of verdant green scales and powerful coils. A tail teased his ankles. Andy jumped and landed nimbly on his paws, scampering backward and away from the coils before him. His back hit another wall of smooth scales, he heard throaty chuckles echoing through the treetops.

“Run all you like, little one…” a feminine voice crooned. “You won’t escape…”

A weight fell upon his shoulders, Andy squirmed free and tried to find where all the coils were coming from. The echoing chuckles and rustling of leaves brought a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. He felt warm breath wash over his ears. His heart skipped a beat as something tickled against the back of his head.

“You smell deliciousssssss…” she whispered. “And your fur is a lovely red… I just might have to… borrow it.”

Andy whirled around. A yelp sounded from the back of his throat as he was met with a pair of beautiful golden eyes and an almost flirtatious smile. The snake circled around him, her eyes seemed to dance with amusement as he followed, fearful of her bite.

She fixed him with a half-lidded stare and brought her jaws mere inches from his nose. Her scales began to shift before his very eyes, a familiar rust red bled into jungle vine-green, a ripple ran from the tip of her nose all the way down her body, even her leaf green underbelly shifted to match his cream furred belly.

Andy’s jaw dropped. A thousand questions leapt to the forefront of his mind, his curiosity overrode his fear for an instant. “How - hurk!” A single squeeze from those powerful coils cut him off. He let out a pained gasp, which only invited her to squeeze him tighter. Stars burst before his eyes, he tried to take in a deep breath to refill his lungs, but found himself left wanting. Each time he managed to fight down a gulp of air, the mighty serpentess’ coils compressed his body with terrifying ease.

Humming to herself, the snake brought the tip of her tail near to their faces, waggling it as she looked herself over. “Such beautiful color,” she praised, her voice seemed to reverberate throughout her entire body, shaking him to the bone. “Do you know how constrictors pacify their prey, mammal?”

A strangled gasp escaped his lips. Andy tried to struggle, but her powerful coils tightened with ease each time he let out a breath or the tiniest grunt as he tried to escape her grasp. His eyes went as wide as dinner plates, his tongue lolled out of his mouth as he felt his entire world spin. No matter how he tried, he couldn’t move, he couldn’t even breathe. He was completely at her mercy.

Her tongue lapped his face, slathering his fur with warm saliva. “There is no use struggling,” she whispered. “Your efforts are adorable… but useless.” She began to circle around him again, teasing and lapping at his fur. “Your fate was sealed the moment we began this little dance, you nimble little thing.”

Andy whimpered. He felt her nose press down between his ears. “P-Please d-don’t eat me!” he wheezed. “I-I’m just a st-student on a research trip!”

“Oh?” she cooed, her coils loosened just enough to allow him a quick drink of precious air. “I’ve never had a student before - what do you study, little one?”

His heart hammered in his chest. His tiny paws shook, he let his ears splay back as he struggled to make his mouth cooperate.

The great serpent squeezed him tighter, drawing another strangled gasp.

“When I ask you to speak, you will answer,” she commanded. “The only things keeping you alive are my curiosity and amusement. Once either dwindles - you are but a snack to me~”

With another whimper, he swallowed the lump that formed in his throat. “I-I study zoology!” he managed to stammer out. “I was writing notes about the predators I watched in your jungle, Miss…”

A glimmer of amusement shone in her eyes. “Inkanyamba,” she replied, the haunting echo of her voice through her massive coils seemed to overpower his very thoughts. Humming, she drew closer, her nose touched against his face. “Studying predators, you say?”

Despite the cold feeling in the pit of his chest, Andy gave a shaky nod.

“How very… topical.” Her mighty coils tightened, Andy could feel her smooth scales rubbing against his coat as she forced the breath from his lungs. “I happen to be somewhat of an expert. Wouldn’t you agree, mammal~?”

He couldn’t speak. Those powerful coils worked to slowly squeeze his smaller body until he could do little but struggle for a tiny gasp of air. Andy could only throw back his head, his mouth hung open in a strangled cry that died in the back of his throat under Inkanyamba’s incomprehensible strength.

All the while, the giant serpentess loomed over him. Her lips curved into a smirk. “Then, given my expertise and your hunger for knowledge - I make for the perfect instructor, do I not?”

Her coils compressed. Andy let out a strangled gasp, he was left with no room for any reply but a panicked nod.

“So glad you agree… Let’s adjourn to my classroom for your lecture.” She chuckled to herself, her coils shook his tiny frame. Her smirk still in place, she shifted, slowly unwinding the coils that bound his torso, shifting so those around his legs tightened. Then she slithered over him, slowly crushing his body under her weight. He squirmed and writhed in panic, his cries muffled by the length of her body as she took her time with him.

After some time, she stopped. Andy struggled to breathe, he could hear a deep rumbling from within her massive body. Her stomach. Another thick curl of her body wound around his arms, pinning them to his sides and pressing his face against her belly so he had an up close few of the smooth, cream colored scales.

“You will behave on our journey, or we will skip the lesson. And move straight on to your final exam~” Her voice seemed to come from everywhere, piercing deep into his thoughts. “Get comfortable, student - we have a long trip ahead of us…”

Andy’s entire body shook with fear down to the very tip of his long, bushy tail. He felt her slither, her coils smothered his tiny body with each movement, kneading and compressing his form. Every breath was a battle between her incomparable might and his need for air. Darkness tinged the edges of his vision. Andy felt lightheaded, only the constant pressing of her belly against his body as the great pythoness slithered deeper into her territory kept him awake.

He could only hope her amusement would last…

Any concept of time eluded him. Whether it had been hours or days, even weeks, Andy could not say. All he knew was the all encompassing might of the giant predator that dragged him off through the jungle, and the full weight of her massive body pressing down on him all the way.

“Here we are,” her voice crooned within his own head. Slowly, he felt her slither back over his form, dragging every inch of her body over his face as the tip of her tail began to wind its way up his torso, tickling his fur. Her coils squeezed, prompting a muffled gasp. He could hear her laughter, a dark cadence that played all around him, as the last bit of her body finally left his face, granting him sight again. “Welcome to my classroom, student,” she said, her lips mere inches from his ear. Teasing the tip with a flick of her tongue, she maneuvered the tip of her tail under his chin and forced him to turn and look over the darkened cave she’d stolen him away to.

The mighty constrictor forced him to look toward the lone glimmer of light, the exit. Andy felt his heart sink, his ears laid flat against his head. It seemed so close. If he could just escape her coils and run, he could make it.

As if sensing his thoughts, she hissed in his ear, “I believe we were discussing how constrictors pacify their prey, but it’s been some time… let us review, my little student.”

Andy let out a cry as he felt her mighty body squeeze once again, even harder than before. Endless coils kneaded his entire being, from his shoulders all the way to the tip of his paws. He could feel his poor tailbone cracking under her ministrations. He tried to breathe, but with every breath he managed to fight for, her coils shifted. They inched closer to one another with every breath he let out. Each inhale seemed shorter and shorter, until he could scarcely drink in a small gasp of sweet air to stem the burn in his lungs. The coil wound around his neck never tightened, it simply held him in place while the rest of her body worked to squeeze him tighter.

Only then did Andy realize the real terror of a constrictor’s embrace: he wasn’t being strangled. No, it wasn’t so simple as that. Slowly, but surely, he was being robbed of his ability to breathe. His vision blurred, his mouth hung open in a silent scream. Rust red cheeks tinged purple, his tongue lolled out of his mouth as he sputtered and gagged, trying against all odds to suck in a desperate gasp of air.

“Countless mammals have struggled while caught in my grasp… each of them just like you, helpless.” Her tongue teased his cheek as darkness began to creep into his vision. “Am I as powerful as those you read about?” Andy gave another pathetic whimper, prompting her to tighten her coils even further. “Answer, student - our lesson isn’t over… yet.” The coils around his body loosened just enough that he could breath, a small mercy she granted him. Yet another reminder of just who controlled his fate.

“Yes!” he choked out. His panic renewed in full, he tried to kick his paws, but found he could barely move his toes. She had him held fast. “More than I could ever - ack! - imagine!”

“Excellent, student,” she mocked, bringing her head around so she could lean in, her lips came closer to his face. He could feel her breath wash over his matted fur. To his horror, he caught a glimpse of the pink inside of her mouth. “This is what prey feels like when taken by a constrictor such as myself, student - feel my body grip and compress you, with each exhale until you can’t take in anything… soon, you will ssssssleep.”

The massive pythoness tilted her head so her brilliant gold eyes met his. Andy felt his blood run cold, he felt as though she could see right through him, piercing into the deepest recesses of his very being with her stare. Yet he couldn’t help but stare right back. Whether it was fear or some hold she had over him, he simply stared dumbly back at her.

Mighty Inkanyamba brought her lips within a hair’s breadth of his nose. “Other predators rip, tear, and rend their prey with sharp fangs or claws, spilling blood everywhere. Constrictors, however, are more gentle by comparison. There is a certain elegance to us - no mess, no fuss, no broken bones. Just a tight embrace and soft, ssssslow, ssssssuffocation!” Her coils squeezed together, prompting a strangled gurgle from the back of his throat. She closed her eyes and smiled, sighing in content as though she were drinking in all of his suffering. The great predator cracked her eyes open and loosened her coils enough to allow him a needy gasp of air. A deep, throaty chuckle echoed through her body and shook him to his very core. Her golden eyes locked with his. In the dark recesses of her cave, they almost seemed to glow. “How does it feel to be overwhelmed by a constrictor’s embrace, mammal?”

Terrified though he was, Andy felt something compel him to reply. A tickle in the back of his mind that whispered in his ear and made the words spill forth. “I can’t do anything,” he wheezed. Tears stung his eyes as he gulped down what little air she allowed him. “Every breath is torment, nothing I do can help me escape, and I… I just want it to stop!”

“Yesssssss,” she hissed. A shiver ran down his spine. Her golden eyes shone with sadistic glee. “Correct again. It would seem you are a good student after all.” The giant serpentess moved in close, her lips pressed against his cheek as she leaned in as if to whisper. “Let’s move on to the next part of our lesson, my little student. A favorite topic of mine - the diet.”

The great serpentess brushed the tip of her nose against his, then pulled back. Andy had no choice but to follow, he stared unblinking into her brilliant gold eyes, transfixed by her gaze. His entire body shook with fear, he whimpered as she opened her cavernous maw.

Deep pink insides dripped with saliva, her humid odorless breath washed over his face, as it have over so many meals before him. All those poor creatures who found themselves trapped in her powerful coils, the very breath squeezed from their lungs by her embrace. He could even see the back of her throat, which opened as though inviting him to look deeper and see his future residence deep within her belly.

Her tongue lashed out and teased his nose. “Once my prey succumbs to my embrace, I swallow them whole,” she said. “Still alive, barely able to do little more than squirm and wriggle, as I take my time to work my way down their body, so I can savor their taste.” She gave a merry hiss that made his blood run cold. “Delicious. Their terrified whimpers and squirming… all for naught as the muscles of my body drag them deeper and deeper, until they reach their new home in my stomach~”

The mighty predator shifted so a coil as thick as a tree branch came into view and brushed against Andy’s cheek. Her scales, tinged the same rust red as his fur, felt so smooth, so cool against him. He almost couldn’t help but lean into her touch, despite the terror gripping his chest. “I wonder if you will even make a bulge in my coils,” she mused. Her golden eyes seemed to glow. “Such a tiny body you have, little mammal. Tiny, but deliciousssss.”

Her voice filled his entire world, reverberating throughout her coils and shaking Andy down to the bone. He tried to lean away from her, but her coils held him fast, the tip of her tail wrapped around his head and forced him to hold her gaze.

“You will stay awake long enough to find yourself comfortably snug, at home inside a coil of mine,” the great snake continued. “And then, you will become one with my body, all your energy will strengthen my coils for future meals.” She chuckled and pressed her massive nose against his tiny snout, her lips parted slightly. “Does my student require a review of the material so far?” she asked mockingly. “Or have you been an attentive little squirrel?”

Andy tried to nod, but her tail held him fast. “I-I understand it!” he babbled, his eyes never leaving hers. “Y-You’ve covered everything v-very thoroughly, I-Inkanyamba!”

“Good,” she crooned. For a moment, she sat silently, content to eye him up and down as she reveled in his despair. Then, she flexed her coils, drawing a strangled squeak. “There is more, of course,” the giant pythoness said as though she were talking about the weather. “A bit of bonus material for your studies that I think you’ll find quite… enriching~”

Her eyes bored into his. Andy couldn’t neither look away nor blink. Those brilliant gold eyes were just so beautiful, so alluring.

A sibilant voice whispered in the back of his mind. The mighty predator’s voice seeped into his thoughts, guiding him to ask the question he knew she was waiting for. “What else can you teach me?”

She drew back and flicked her tongue at him, tickling the tip of his nose. “Such an eager student,” she said. “Your bonus material is something not many mammals know of.” Her mouth yawned open to reveal its glistening pink insides once more, but this time there was something else. The great serpentess bared a pair of gleaming white fangs, poised and ready to sink into his body.

Panic pierced through his thoughts. Andy tried to squirm in her grasp, but her coils held him fast, the end of her tail tightened around his head and forced him to tilt back so he could behold those fangs. “Y-Y-You’re venomous?” he stammered.

“No, my little student, I am not.” The mighty snake licked her lips and slowly came closer, her mouth still open to display her fangs. “Some predators, myself included, have a taste for something other than just mammals’ flesh. Something very delicious, the very essence of your life itself.” Inkanyamba leaned in as if to whisper a secret in his ear, her tongue lapped at the matted fur on his cheek. She let out a low hum like she was testing his taste, his fur stood on end from his neck to the very end of his fluffy tail. “I can feel your tiny heart racing,” she purred in his ear. “And I can smell the sweet blood running in your arteries, little student. It’s making me so very thirsty…”

His heart skipped a beat. Andy let his ears splay back. “What?” His eyes went wide. “Wait! No! Please!”

She brushed the left side of her face against his cheek, dragging her lips along as she circled around his neck. “Hush, now, little student. Our lesson has not yet concluded. A touch of practical experience goes a long way - and I think after all this talk, I deserve a nice, long drink…” Her tail forced him to tilt his head to the side, baring the right side of his neck for her. The powerful pythoness flicked her tongue to tease and tickle his neck. “A fitting payment for my lesson.”

Andy whimpered as he felt her hot breath wash over his neck. He tried with all his might to pull his head free of her tail’s grasp so he could block her access, he felt his muscles strain, pain flared in his shoulder as her coils tightened to hold him in place. His efforts were all in vain.

“Relax,” she crooned. “In time, I think you’ll find my fangs quite… enjoyable.” With a hiss, she plunged her fangs deep into his neck. His body went rigid at the twin lances piercing into his jugular, fire spread throughout his very being. The great serpentess let out a contented sigh, then began drinking his blood. Her long, forked tongue wrapped around his neck like a collar, matting his fur with her warm saliva. Darkness tinged the edges of his vision.

He could hear her swallowing, a low gulp that sounded right in his ear. Another sigh, like one of those pretty girls in class enjoying a nice meal of nuts and berries, shook him to his core. The thirsty predator let out a hum as she savored his taste, swallowing harder from his neck to draw more of his precious lifeblood into her mouth. Andy felt his muscles tire, his struggles grew weaker until he could barely wiggle a toe in protest. A soft, soothing warmth spread through his body from her fangs.

His cheeks began to burn, a rosy hue tinged his rust red fur. Andy felt his jaw drop as the warmth began to trickle down into his chest, like warm water rolling down his body. It bloomed in his chest, relaxing all his muscles just below the surface and filled his lungs. Everything felt fuzzy, his heart seemed to beat in time with the mighty serpentess’ feeding. A whimper escaped his lips, then a sharp gasp tore from the back of his throat as she swallowed more of his blood. His breath came in short, steady pants. All his body felt simply heavenly, like he was wrapped in a lover’s warm embrace. His entire world was full of a strange lightness, all his worries simply washed away as he stayed held in her grasp.

Andy let his eyelids droop. He leaned his head to the left to grant his wonderful teacher free access to collect her rightfully earned tuition. A heated moan escaped his lips as he felt her break for a split second to tussle his head fur with the tip of her tail before she resumed her feast. The tiny squirrel let his mouth hang open as he gave himself to the high brought on by her feeding and the anesthetics coursing through his veins.

All too soon, though, he felt her feeding come to an end. The great serpentess pulled her fangs from his neck, her breath ran over the open puncture wounds and drew a wanting whimper from the back of his throat, his eyes fluttered shut.

Her low chuckling tickled his ears. A warm tongue wet with saliva lapped at his wounds, trailing along until the end of her nose reached his right ear. “Exquisite,” she whispered huskily, slurring the word a bit. “Your blood is very sweet, very filling. Thank you, little student.”

The exhausted squirrel’s head lolled to the side, he let his cheek brush against her nose. He made to reply, but his words trailed off in an almost drunken mumble. Everything just felt so light and fuzzy. Her coils hugged him from all sides, those beautiful rust red scales felt more comfortable than even his own bed. He could just lay still and sink into her embrace, never to leave.

And why should he? The great pythoness, Inkanyamba, was such a generous teacher, and patient enough to invite him into her home and hold him safely in her grasp while lecturing him on just how her kind devoured their prey. The beautiful serpentess even went the extra mile to ensure he knew of her thirst for blood and offered him a chance to experience it himself.

Andy opened his bleary eyes in time to see her move to loom over him again, a wide, goofy grin crossed his face as he gazed up at the beautiful snake. She wore a contented smile, her rust red lips still tinged with a few droplets of crimson blood before her black tongue darted out to collect the lingering remnants of her meal. Her golden eyes bored into his own. Andy, tired though he was, tried to lean up to nuzzle against her massive nose in silent thanks, but he couldn’t quite reach.

She brought her head nearer to his to appease his wishes. Andy let out a happy sigh, he even dared to dot a kiss on her nose and mumble something incomprehensible under his breath. His teacher licked his snout with her long, forked tongue. “That concludes our lesson today, my little student,” the great predator said. “Are there any questions before I dismiss you for the day?”

With an absentminded coo, he slowly shook his head, delighting in how smooth her scales felt against his tiny nose.

“Excellent. Then we will break until morning.” The mighty constrictor ran her cheek along his as she wound herself around his neck again. Her coils tugged and massaged at his waist, drawing him deeper into their depths. “You will sleep here and keep me warm,” she commanded. “Rest well, little one. In the morning, you have your final exam with me.” Andy felt her nose against his head for a moment. “But I’m sure you’ll do well if you paid attention today.”

As her massive coils tightened around him and held him fast in their cool embrace, Andy felt his teacher lay her massive head atop his as if he were her pillow. He let out a sigh and laid his own against her powerful body, his world was filled with nothing by smooth, rust red scales, which rubbed against his entire being with every breath the mighty serpentess took.

His eyes felt heavy. A deep yawn escaped his lips. Andy snuggled into her embrace and let himself slowly drift off to sleep, safe and sound in the massive predator’s coils. Just before he surrendered to his dreams, he let his mind wander back to her parting words. He truly hoped he would do well on his final exam tomorrow. It just wouldn’t do to let her down after she took the time to give him a private lesson.

A brilliant teacher such as Inkanyamba deserved nothing short of the best effort from all her students.
