Everybody seemed to be a little bit anxious and agitated. It was an important day, so it’s common to expect people to be nervous. The traffic of people moving around on the hangar of the Great Fox was regular, but on that day precisely, it was out of the ordinary. Space Dynamics personal were working on the last preparations for the Arwing III.

Arwing has been an iconic space fighter for a long time, especially when Fox McCloud was in control. No need to say Fox McCloud was one of their best pilots, and just like Falco Lombardi. They were both rivals and good friends, that friendly competition to see who was the best pilot. By Space Dynamics conceptions, both of them were valuable pilots, and the company was more than happy to have both of them available to attend this event, which could easily be described as the next step in the evolution of space defense.

The Arwing III looked a little bit similar to its previous model, the Arwing II, in design. But it was a completely new and superior vehicle in almost all senses. The main changes rely on the engines and the new power core system. A significant breakthrough in the field of physics made it possible. They called it a singularity reactor. This new type of reactor wasn't exactly new; the difference was that only now it became possible to make this piece of equipment small enough to fit inside an Arwing type fighter.

The new power source was necessary to power the new engines the Arwing III had installed. Transwarp engines. These new models of engines could allow the Arwings to fly faster, even faster than the speed of light. But, Space Dynamics wanted to do more than just fly. Given the new amount of power available, thanks to the new power core united, many theories were suggesting it could be possible for the Arwing III to execute a maneuver, which could be considered the act of teleporting an entire ship from one point to another in the galaxy.

The process and the details behind said maneuver are complex, but the theory's basics are simple. The main idea was to use Tachyon particles to generate something that could work as a corridor which the fighter could use to travel through. A passage through the fabric of space and time. To do such a thing, it only required a small change in design to add a Tachyon pulse emitter. Thanks to the singularity reactor, with all the power available, to active such a device would be no issue. The issue, however, was to make it fit on such a small, lightship as an Arwing. Although, despite the final design was looking a little bit terrible Space Dynamics themselves weren’t sure if the experiment itself was going to work or not. Which means, they didn’t know if they were going to keep that version of the Arwing III, with Transwarp capabilities, or not.

That is why Fox McCloud and Falco Lombardi were designed to execute such audacious achievement. They were the best pilots the company had available. McCloud was readying himself; meanwhile, Lombardi was already ready and waiting. Falco had always seemed to be more disciplined than Fox McCloud. However, it was precisely Fox’s attitude of being intransigent that guarantee him the position of a leader. It didn’t take much for the young adult, anthropomorphic fox to walk in the hangar bay, and his breathing was accelerated, showing that McCloud made it there running.

“Good to see you got here in time, McCloud.”

Said Peppy Hare, the retired rabbit responsible for playing the hole of the dull, grouchy supervisor, one could say. Of course, he said that with the usual annoyed and sarcastic tone in his voice.

"Sorry, Peppy, it won't happen again."

McCloud replied, and just right after that, Slippy Toad, the team's brain, approached them both.

“Where have you been? Come on! Come on! Falco is waiting for you.”

Slip always has his positive energy that happens to contaminate the entire team and plays a vital role in keeping the group tight together.

The three anthropomorphic beings walked through the polished steel corridors of the imposing mothership, the great fox. It didn't take long for them to pass through the large, thick, and pressurized door that led into the limited area in the hangar bay where the new prototypes of the Arwings were being held standing by. Falco was the first one to greet them, raising his hand, which forced him to change his customary arm crossed instance. But before the avian could even say anything, Yaru de Pon, the real president of Space Dynamics, stole the scene with his grave, commanding, slow tone voice.

"Glad to have both you and Falco here, McCloud. I can tell you in the name of Space Dynamics we are all anxious to see the results of your performance here today. Allow me to be the first to inform you, not only our top collaborates are here today, but I have also decided to unclassified the test for today and broadcast it. I wish you two good luck."

Fox and Falco couldn’t tell if what Mr. Pon just told them was inspiring or concerning. Being the president of a big corporation such as Space Dynamics, he probably was trying to add some tiny little amount of responsibility for the boys, although he knows he needs them to perform well, so the idea was not to overstress them. Yaru de Pon, Immediately left them after he finished.

The young fox and the young avian looked at one another for a brief moment, they didn't need to say anything. They already knew what they needed to do. The two anthropomorphic beings jumped into the prototypes fighters, both putting on their special navigation glasses and activating the controls on the panels. Despite the new embedded technology, which caused a notable change in the design of the Airwing's interior design, it felt like home to Fox and Falco. The boys activated the controls and powered the systems as fast as if they have already done that countless times before.

“Here is Fox McCloud speaking to the command bridge, do you read me?”

“Loud and clear, Mr. McCloud.”

But, right after that, another voice joined the same channel.

"Hey you two, I forgot to warn you about the new changes in the Airwing interior design."

It was Slippy Toad one more time using his genius to enter into a very private, high-security transmission channel without being exactly invited.

“It’s alright, Slip. It wasn’t all that difficult to figure out all the controls. Was it, Falco?”

After a short period of silence, an avian voice joined the channel too.

“Ah!!! No!!! All fine over here.”

"Wonderful! Hey, look! You have a green light! Go! Go! Go!"

And with that last, energetic reaction from the Frog Boy, the pair departed from the hangar bay. The new engines released a powerful blast of blue plasma, an exceptional show to everybody watching them. Even if the takeoff runner was long given the fighters' high speed, the two anthropomorphic pilots found themselves out in the open space in a matter of seconds.

Their first assignment was supposed to be a quick and straightforward test of the new Airwing basic flying controls. But, McCloud took the lead and executed a series of acrobatic maneuvers. The fox was feeling like home, and he was also providing a good to show to everyone watching them both. Falco watched his partner feel like home with that thoughtful expression of him through the cockpit, the avian decided not to do maneuver out of the script. Instead, he chooses to be the one who reported the flying conditions.

“This is Falco Lombardi reporting; all basic flying controls are operating normally. But it seems McCloud had already demonstrated it.”

"Come on, Falco, you can do it too."

The fox immediately answered, and right after McCloud moved his fighter dangerous closer to Lombardi's fighter. At first, Falco got nervous, he didn't know how to react. But Fox knew Falco was an outstanding pilot and decided to trust his friend's instincts. The young fox was right; the two Airwings flew over one another, passing so closer to each other that the device installed on the ship's fuselage responsible for generating the Tachyon corridor almost touched on one another.

The dangerous maneuver was a big success, and the crowd watching them down at the planet through the big holographic monitors went crazy. Jumping and yelling out of excitement. And it was then Slippy Toad joined the voice channel one more time.

“Alright guys, the ship is still a prototype. It means not so many fun things to test, only the engines. Pay attention now, the next part is to test the Tachyon emitters system. Those Airwings still operate the old computers from the Airwing II, so I'll send the data remotely. You guys must check if the data input is correct, the slight error could result in a big catastrophe.”

The monitors of the two fighters were receiving the date. The amount of information was impressive, but even more impressive was both Falco and Fox's faces. The two pilots didn't have a clue about what was going on at all. In less than five minutes, the file transfer was completed.

"Ok, guys, tell me if the system received the date, and if everything is ok, all you have to do it's to press the ready bottom at your screen, and the ship will be…"

Without giving Slippy Toad a chance to even finish his sentence, the two pilots pressed the green, rectangle with the word ready written inside of it. The ship immediately cut off its primary engines to begin to diverge the power to the Transwarp drive system. The Tachyon emitters energized, and a subspace tunnel formed right in front of each Airwing. At first, it felt like the tunnel was very narrow and could collapse over the two ships, but it stabilized quickly.

If Fox and Falco had listened to Slippy Toad, they would have known that their Airwings was running an autopilot protocol since they pressed that ready bottom. That means there was no turning back now. Whatever could happen, they'll find out asap.

When the Transwarp corridor in front of them was perfectly stable, the two anthros felt a firm tug. The engines were back online, and the Airwing flew into the tunnel, disappearing. In a matter of few seconds, the two prototype fighters came out of the subspace corridor back inside the takeoff runway of the Great Fox mothership, and the fighters flew all the way the long takeoff runway until they gentle landed with perfection at the hangar bay, all automatically. The two pilots jumping out of the prototype ships yelling energetically. The personal at the command bridge was clapping, and so were the people on the planet watching the broadcast. The test was a major success and also a great breakthrough.

When the Transwarp corridor in front of them was perfectly stable, the two anthro felt a firm tug. The engines were back online, and the Airwing flew into the tunnel, disappearing. To the rest of the universe, it felt like only a few seconds had passed, but to the two pilots, it felt like some good minutes had passed, and the fighters were still stuck inside the subspace corridor made out of pure highly energized Tachyon particles. McCloud tried to contact Falco through the voice channel, but the only thing that he managed to achieve was a loud noise of subspace static coming out of the speaker. They didn't have any choice, they had to wait until the travel through the corridor was finished.

Finally, after what felt like more than an hour, the two prototype Airwings came out of the Tachyon vortex and right into the Great Fox's hanger bay. The two pilots landed their ships on the hanger bay, and the first thing they did was to jump out of the fighters and hug each other. They were scared, they thought they were going remain stuck in that endless loop of Tachyon energize forever. However, shortly after the two anthropomorphic beings finished the affection moments together, the ground underneath them rocked intensely.

Both Falco and McCloud separated from the hug and went into a full alert state. The expression on their faces was indescribable. They didn’t know until that moment that the same interference that happened to distort the fabric of space-time also had some strong effects on their physiognomy, specifically their sizes. The two elite pilots were now about the size of a speck of dust. The ship slightly bigger than them could represent a threat to ants, at best possible scenery only. But what was truly terrifying was the view in front of them. Falco Lombardi and Fox McCloud were staring at themselves, copies of themselves, the only difference being the were regular-sized copies of themselves.

McCloud felt very odd. To him, it to was strange to stare at himself. But, things got different when the male fox moved his eyes to stare at his best friend and teammate, the gargantuan sized avian looked like a towering titan to the tiny speck of a fox, and the anthropomorphic could notice a lot more details on Falco's body that he couldn't before. Looking from the toe and upwards, the speck of a fox was able to glance his eyes through the outlines of the avian's body muscles, going up passing above the line of the elite pilot knees and finally stopping around the massive thighs of his friend.

Falco felt precisely the same thing as well. The speck sized duplicated bird was unable to help himself neither but to stare over the colossal fox. Starting by McCloud gargantuan boots and looking up over the defined triceps of the fox, passing through the rigid muscle thighs until his eyes rested on the impressive large bulge of the anthropomorphic fox. Thanks to the avian having a slightly better vision for long distances, better than the canine ones, Falco could see way up above the thighs line an achievement his equally nano-sized friend standing by his side couldn't.

The two elite pilots stared at one another for a brief second after realizing their current situation. They were confused, disoriented, and didn't have any idea about what to do. To find yourself shrunk to an incredible, ridiculous small size is pretty bad by itself, but to find yourself tiny and staring at a titanic version of yourself, it could easily take someone out of the ordinary. However, both Falco and Fox didn't have the time to allow themselves to stare at one another, both small or big, or to engage in complex reflections at the moment. A loud rumble noise got their attention.

The two pathetic boys stared in a panic as the large boot of the biped fox rising itself some good feet up in the air. The gigantic Fox McCloud was about to step ahead, but before the gargantuan male fox could even move his boot high enough so the sound of the rumbling noise generated by the displaced air the boot was causing due to the drag effect could cease, an even louder, roaring noise rocked the air around them. It was the voice out of the mouth of those enormous beings.

The tiny versions of the two boys couldn't understand anything that those massive normal-sized beings were speaking. To them, the sheer sound of their voice was so powerful it was virtually impossible for them to even possibly imagine being able to understand. Actually, they needed to watch out because they felt like their pathetic bodies were going to explode out of the shockwaves the titan voices were generating.

“Hey! What about an eating contest?!”

“Burgues or hot Dog?”

“Why not both?”

“You’ll lose McCloud!”

Four sentences, four innocent sentences out of the months of both Falco and McCloud, sounded like an apocalypse to both Falco and McCloud… The two nano-sized versions of the elite pilots got themselves busy not with their voices, but their feet. They need to get out of the floor and fast if they want to avoid becoming two pathetical, red smears underneath the soles of their own boots. The two teammates jumped back into their Airwings and took off a flight. It wasn't difficult for them to fly out of the floor, given their excellent ability. But they now needed to decide what to do.

“Falco, do you read me?”

“Positive!”

“What are we going to do?”

“You are the leader here, remember?”

The fox went silent for a small period while thinking and watching a large copy of himself walking away from both him and his teammate fighter. To the nano-sized pilots, the two titans' movements were languid, but somehow, despite moving slow, the titanic version of them both still covered a lot of ground.

"Well… let's follow them… I mean, us…"

It wasn't a problematic fly from the hangar bay to the Dreadnaught cafeteria. However, the two nano-sized pilots couldn't do much other than just watch themselves. Even though their ships had long-range communicators unit, the signal broadcast by them was too tiny and weak to be received by such enormous equipment around them. They are nothing but pathetic bugs in a whole world dominated by colossal macros.

“Falco to McCloud, what do we do now?”

The StarFox team leader found himself in a difficult situation, it was one of those moments where he didn't know what to do. But after a short period, the fox came out with a plan, a very risky one. But it was a plan.

"Falco, here is what we are going to do. Let's try to get close enough to our faces, I believe we will be able to get our attention by doing this."

“Ok, to who are you going to try?”

"Well, you can try me, and I could try you?"

“understood.”

The two speck dust versions pilots didn’t know, but they were about to put themselves in a tremendously dangerous situation. Falco flew carefully towards the face of the gargantuan fox. The blue avian tried his best to get up close to the large, imposing eyes of the fox. But when the elite pilot was just about to finally reach his final goal, the massive young fox moved his head down to face the dish on his table. A simple, innocent movement created enough drag force to push the small Airwing right in front of the massive, cavernous nostril of a fox muzzle.

Falco was a good pilot, but he didn't even have enough time to react at all. His puny ship was inhaled inside the muzzle of his teammate and best friend, even if it was only a duplicated of his best friend, and disappeared inside. McCloud was watching everything from the cockpit of his own Airwing, the tiny fox did even tried to contact his friend through the communicator channel, but thanks to their ridiculous minuscule size, the radio waves couldn't pass through the fresh of the gigantic-sized version of himself. It was a terrifying experience to watch yourself inhaling an entire Airwing, which happened to contain your best friend inside of it with a single breath.

Unfortunately, McCloud was too distracted watching his friend’s ship and trying to understand what happened that he didn't even notice his airwing was getting too close to the beak of the massive avian. The small fighter hit against the hard, tip of the avian. Fortunately, the ship didn't fall apart, and neither it exploded. However, the mechanical signaling of the ship's mechanical parts control got severely damaged. Fox lost control over the prototype flight, and it fell swirling right into the hot, delicious surface of the hot dog the gargantuan version of his avian friend was about to devour.

The pathetic, airwing III land face-first into the read, meaty surface sausage. Despite the fact sausage looked very soft and warm, the ship's nose hit hard against its surface, causing a good amount of structural damage to the prototype ship and leaving the nano-sized fox stuck right in the middle of the meal of his gargantuan sized friend.

Meanwhile, the tiny speck of a Falco was having a hard time. The small version of the blue avian was forced to put his pilot abilities for proper use, flying around the nose hair that was thick as buildings to him and his small ship. Even though Falco was using the best of his ability and trying to make the best out of the airwing III engines, he couldn't fight against the overpowering winds of air from the insides of the lungs of the massive fox. And then it happened, a small error, a wrong timing was all that it took for the poor Falco to the base of a single nose hair.

The airwing III fell apart almost immediately, but luckily to the puny, blue avian, his cockpit was still one piece. But it doesn't mean things were going to be easy since the massive, canine named McCloud was again sucking into his lungs massive amounts of fresh, pure air and carrying with it everything small enough that happen to be on its way. Finally, the debris of the prototype ship fell into the gullet of the massive fox. Luckily McCloud’s throat wasn’t open at the moment, providing Falco some precious moments to think about a solution. Although, the pathetic blue avian was out of hope.

Back to the outside world, the tiny version of the team leader struggled to avoid becoming food for a massive avian. Fox McCloud stood outside of the prototype Airwing, and he tried his best to get the thing back to work, but then he felt the whole world around shaking violently. He barely had time to understand what was going on, a row of massive fingers came and grabbed that giant hot dog he crashed on and lifted it up. The air moving around him and the tiny Airwing was intense, and things only got worse from that point and beyond. In seconds, the nano-sized fox was staring at a huge mountain, a yellow mountain, that was nothing more than the break of the avian named Falco Lombardi.

The micro version fox was frozen out of fear staring at such a massive break opening right in front of him.

“Falco!!!! Over here!!! Please don’t do it!!!”

But of course, all his attempts to get his best friend's attention were useless, given the sheer size difference. And since the normal-sized avian was hungry and anxious, to start the eating conquest, he would never notice such a small speck on top of his hot-dog. Light began to fade away as the part of the hot-dog which Fox was currently standing on got inside the massive Falco's mouth. The atmosphere was humid and hot inside of his mouth, not mention the sharp breathing air moving and passing around. When that enormous break moved down, it cut through the bread and meat of the hot-dog as if it were nothing at all. The mediocre team leader was really out of time, after all, it was an eating contest, and therefor the colossal Falco didn't even allow himself to taste his meal the avian simply sent it to the back of his throat and swallowed it without a care in the world, completely unaware of the presence of a nano-sized fox added to it.

The other duplicated micro thought it could be a good idea to climb the imposing, slippery walls of the gigantic fox throat. Falco was finding it to be the most challenging task he ever tried to do in his life. Every time Fox breaths the walls around him flex and move, threatening to send him down and given how small the avian was if compared to the normal-sized version of his friend, he could pass right through the esophagus without the massive fox even feel or notice anything. Unfortunately, Lombardi was about to come across with something a lot more concerning. Fox McCloud decided to initiate the eating contest by having a good, long cup of soft-drink.

The tiny, poor Falco inside the depths of the mouth of the massive fox wouldn't know until it was too late. Looking up, the only thing he was able to see was light, a lot of light getting inside the mouth of the fox and allowing him to see every single detail around him a lot more clearly. Massive columns of saliva falling around and connecting the throat's muscle walls to one another and looking upwards, the blue avian could see the uvula hanging and looming above.

“If I could only get up there…”

Falco thought and even said it out loud, although there was nobody there to listen or help the nano micro. To make matters worse, Falco started to hear the deafening noise of liquid moving towards him at very high speeds. It was the soft-drink McCloud was drinking. The normal-sized fox gave only a small sip to the drink, but that was more than enough to bring chaos to the pitiful speck of a micro clinging to his throat for dear life. Even a small sip to the drink was more than enough to make loud, terrifying sounds as it crashed and collided against the inner parts of the mouth until the massive wave of pure soft drink found it’s way into the gullet of the fox.

The elite pilot was in shock, his deadline was over. To Falco, it felt like the whole scene was happening in slow motion, or maybe it was because his heartbeat speeding up, but the only thing he could be sure about was there was nothing he could do to change the final outcome of the events. The blue avian could only choose between stay there watching or let himself go in free fall before the torrent of liquid reaches him. Taking the second option, Lombardi let go of the muscle wall of his friend's throat to land right into the wrinkled esophagus of the monstrous fox.

The puny, blue avian thought that he could scape the sheer torrent of soft drink, but that didn't happen. Falco could feel the mighty muscle of the esophagus contracting around him, not because of his presence because he was too small to even be registered, but mostly because the whole digestive system of the fox was reading itself to receive food. In the end, Lombardi was quite lucky that the sheer wave of drink ended up catching up with him because if it were not by that, he wouldn't make it into the stomach of the fox alive at all.

The situation inside of the stomach, not the fox stomach, but the massive, colossal avian stomach, was far from good. The nano speck of fox arrived inside the belly of his best friend in one piece. However, he found himself surrounded by an endless ocean of pure acid, due to Falco ridicules, gigantic size. Luckily, the fox was still on the surface of that piece of sausage, and he could try to buy himself some time and maybe fix his Airwing and try to get out of there, but then a terrible rumble got his attention.

At first, McCloud wasn't sure about what was going on. He thought it was the inner walls of the stomach around preparing to start the digestion process, the tiny speck of a fox tried to hurry up to get his Airwing back to flying conditions as fast as possible. Even if he wasn’t considering that the mere fact he and the vehicle managed to arrive inside the stomach of the avian without getting crushed by the muscle walls of the esophagus was already remarkable by itself. McCloud didn’t know it, but there was no way out of his current situation.

And then finally, the source of the loud, audible noise that was surrounding him revealed itself. Falling like a meteor from the sky, a massive piece of hot-dog arrived inside the avian's stomach. Falco continued to devour his meal since the bird was determined to win the eating contest no matter what. Unfortunately, he didn't know that he was going to bury a nano-sized version of his best friend within the confines of his belly in the process.

There was nothing that the pathetic, tiny speck of fox could do. The sheer size of that new piece of hot dog that fell was more than enough to crush him and that pathetic copy of the original airwing. A dark shadow and a roaring sound were the last things the puny Fox McCloud was able to register.

On the other hand, Falco didn't have the same luck, the poor avian was fighting to not drown in the middle of a torrent of soft drink as he made his way down into the stomach of the sheer male fox. After a real long trip down, the avian and the debris of his Airwing arrived inside the belly of the carnivore anthro. Falco broke his leg during his journey through the muscle walls of the titanic fox esophagus. However, all that nightmare was about to end soon at the moment he landed in the middle of the pool made out of pure acid. Given the tiny avian size, the carnivore acid from McCloud's stomach dissolved his body, and the last pieces of the prototype fighter in an instant. No evidence was left behind.

The eating contest ended, and the two normal-sized Falco and Fox returned to the Hanger bay after their presence was required once again. The test was taken as a success, but some techniques detected a small anomaly during the first flight. They deiced to run a second test on the engines, will they find out what is really going on? How many nano-sized, duplicates of both Fox and Falco will have to endure the challenge that it's to survive in the middle of a world dominated by colossal, towering, titans being? Only the classified logs of Space Dynamics will be able to tell.
