At exactly 6:30 Monday morning when my alarm clock began ringing like mad. Before I could even crawl, my sleepy tail out of bed, my brother pounded on the door. "So lead britches you gettin out of bed some time this century or what?" Iros wondered. As he stood in my doorway I sat up in bed then shot him a sour look. "Oh! Not to rush you or anything but, we're leaving in thirty minutes." He informed.

"Whoa, hold on a second, Thirty Minutes?" I remarked jumping off my bed. Iros quickly explained the reason behind the timeline so I rushed into the bathroom. The second I closed the door I threw off my pj's then turned on the shower. From there I spent the next fifteen minutes getting myself all cleaned up before drying off. Once I got dressed I calmly made my way downstairs to the living room.

"Well, look who finally decided to join us among the living, about time missy." Razze smiled. Not bothering to give him any sort of comment I made my way into the kitchen. Iros asked Razze to leave me alone seeing as I'm a morning person to begin with. While they chatted in the living room. I was making myself a quick breakfast. The moment I finished my meal we jump into Iros' car then drove to Finx's home.

Once she jumped in from there we drove all the way to the school parking lot. Afterwards we said our goodbyes then walked directly to our separate homerooms. When homeroom let out I exited the classroom on my way to first period. The second I turned the corner I soon became aware of somebody following me. "Hey, there sexy whatcha doing?" Someone remarked causing me to turn around.

"Hi, Celia I wasn't expecting you, Umm? Question where's your first period class anyway?' I asked. Celia looked at me funny while she took a moment to process my question. "It's room 347, fourth floor in Black House." She replied. "No, way I'm in that class, wanna sit together when we get there if you don't mind." I smiled. She was more than happy with the idea as we continued on our way to class.

"Hey, Aniu I gotta ask this seeing as, its been bugging me for a while now. From what little time I've spent with your brother, there's one thing he does that's odd. He hasn't asked any of the available women here on campus out or shown any interest in them either." She asked. As we entered the class room then took our seat I explained myself. I told her that my brother wasn't known for his impulsive behavior.

Though if she didn't believe me she was more than welcome to go ask him. First period came to an end we said goodbye then made our way to second period. About halfway there out of the corner of my eye I noticed someone else walking behind me. I figured this time around they were merely going in similar direction or class. "Hello, Aniu could I have a moment please?" The student asked.

Calmly turning around I saw Maxwell Silvers so I asked what was on his mind. "Out of curiosity are you seeing anybody at the moment?" He wondered nervously. Shaking my head no I could see his body language perked right up. Though I told him that wasn't ready to put myself back on the market due to Keith. His shoulders slumped a little but, I was curious about what he wanted so I asked.

"If you ever change your mind, you know the Harvest Moon Ball is four weeks away. I was wondering if you would honor me by being my date on that night." He informed. <You know he's sweet perhaps I should give him a chance. I've known him since 7th grade but, I wonder if my parents or, Iros would approve?> I wondered. So I told Max that I'd think about it and give him an answer before Friday.

With that settled we entered into our respected classes with a polite goodbye. During second period, I couldn't take my mind off of what Max had asked me. Unfortunately daydreaming wasn't smartest thing I've done seeing as the teacher caught me. "Ms. Deltroon is there something you care to enlighten us with?" The teacher wondered. Quickly shaking my head no the teacher calmly resumed with his lecture.

In no time class ended so I got out of my seat and walking into the hallway. As I walked down the hallway then took a left at the corridor I walked right into Keith. "Hi, Aniu how are you doing sexy?" Keith asked with a smile. Not bothering to give him any satisfaction I ignored him as I continued walking. "What's the matter with you? Can't you even give me the benefit of the doubt here?" He stated.

To be perfectly honest I wasn't in any sort of mood to listen to his bloody lies. I kept right on walking which forced him to reach out and grab a hold of my arm. Sadly the dumb ass hadn't counted on the fact I was going to defend myself. Mother warned Iros and I that using our Sagan Magic was strictly forbidden no matter what. As my eyes began to glow a strange breeze kicked up then I spoke the Ancient Language.

The second the spell was cast a hurricane force blast of air hit Keith in the chest. Sending him flying down the hall then pinning him against the far wall like a magnet. As the spell slowly came to an end I walked over then looked directly at him. "Next time you'll quit while you're ahead you stupid arrogant **** hole." I stated storming away. Though instead of going to class I figured it'd be best that I go see Ms. Sierra.

When I got there Megan one of the three secretaries that work behind the main desk. I asked her if she could find out my counselor was seeing anyone at the time. She picked up the phone gave Ms. Sierra a call to see if she could see me in her office. Megan hung up the phone then told me I could go right ahead on back to see her. By the time I walked past the front desk Ms. Sierra exited her office and met me halfway.

From there we said hello then walked into her office, closed the door and sat down. I soon told her about everything that had transpired a few minutes ago with Keith. The expression on her face said that this wasn't the first time Keith has pulled this stunt. When I told her that I was forced to use my telekinesis on him in self defense. Sierra didn't say anything right away as wave of guilt washed over me at the same time.

Though it was her awkward silence that worried me even more then anything else. When she finally spoke all she told me was not to worry that she'd handle Keith. She then told me that she was very good friends with his parents, oddly enough they're her neighbors. Naturally later today she'd pay them a visit at home and give them an ear full. From there she wrote me a note to head back to class so I said goodbye,

As I exited the guidance office it was just about lunch time so headed for the cafeteria. The second my hand grabbed the handle for the door the lunch bell started ringing. From there I grabbed my lunch then sat over by a window overlooking the water fountain. While I ate quietly by myself someone approached me from out of nowhere. "Hello, Aniu do you mind if I join you for lunch?" The person asked.

"Huh? Hi, Max of course you can sit with me, how are you doing today?" I replied looking at him. He wasn't in much of a mood to discuss what was clearly bothering him a great deal. When I inquired again he agreed to tell but, made me promise not to tease him. The second I promised what came next I wasn't totally prepared to hear. By the time he finished I was actually flattered that he was being so honest with me.

From out of nowhere I invited him over for dinner tonight, which even surprised him. "Aniu, what about your brother won't he step in or try something on me?" He asked. I assured him that he would only try something if he planned something deceitful. "I wouldn't dare do anything like that you're too gorgeous to be treated like that." He said. By the time he realized what he said his hands instantly covered his mouth.

"Relax, I appreciate the complement Max." I said getting up off my seat. I walked over towards him, leaned down closer to him then kissed him politely on the cheek. "I'll see you at 7 o'clock tonight, OH and don't be late." I stated walking away. Then I calmly walked away leaving him in shock as I looked back at him. Though what I didn't know right away was that someone had been watching.

When I turned around and headed for the doors my observer met up with me. "I saw that chick." Celia said gaining my attention. Of course my retort was only fair given the situation. "Hell, no! Besides what did he say to you that made you kiss him?" She wondered. Naturally I told her that he's been a sweetheart too me and it yielded a nice reward. "Oh, I see so you like him, huh?" She asked intently.

"Maybe a little but, the weird thing is he reminds me a lot of my father." I remarked. Celia was quick to point that some women look for the dads in the form of other men. "Yeah, okay that'll be the day." I scoffed with a laugh. Her retort was even quicker when she told me that she wouldn't be shocked if we ended together. Of course I put my foot in my mouth when I whispered under my breath and Celia heard me.

Before I could embarrass myself any further I wisely changed the subject. Though Celia wondered about my brother when it comes to introducing him to Max. I'm sure Iros wouldn't do anything to harm him and not read his thoughts. Celia recalled him saying something about that but, I told her I had the very same power. Of course that raised a few more questions in Celia which she happily shared.

I didn't have the heart to lie to her but, I knew mother would have my ass in a sling. Doing the smart thing I calmly explained the subject was a sensitive matter. Celia apologized for being rather direct then she had to head off to the gymnasium. As she walked through the double doors I headed off for my brother's fourth period class. Once I got there I quickly looked around to see where he was sitting.

When I found him, he was working on a computer for his mid-term assessment class. Of course he wasn't facing me as I walked closer his ears turned back in my direction. "As I walk through the valley of demons, I feel no sorrow for those lost dead souls ." He remarked. Giving him a soft punch to the arm and calling him a smart ass in spite. Though as if on cue Iros could tell something was on my mind.

"Alright, I'll tell what happened but, please promise me you won't get mad." I stated sitting down. He agreed to hold back until I said everything I had on my mind first. I told him what took place between the end of second and the beginning of third. Iros was quiet for a few moments then grabbed my scruff and pulled me someplace private.

"ANIU! What in the **** were you thinking casting Sagan magic in public. Look, I understand you used it to defend yourself but, if mom senses it you're royally ******!" He responded firmly. Of course I pleaded with him to cover for me just this one time. Seeing as mom doesn't fly off the handle as quickly when it's him adverse to me. "Alright, Aniu I'll do what I can but, I can't make any solid guarantees." He replied.

"Thank you so much, Iros." I said hugging affectionately him around the neck. He smiled and said that's what he's here, though wondered if there was anything else I needed. "Actually do you know, Max Silvers by any chance?" I wondered. Walking back to his seat he confirmed that Max was in the same first period class as him and asked me why. I told them that Max had asked me to be his date for the Harvest Moon Ball.

"Alright just be sure to run all this by mom and dad before you doing anything." He said sitting down. So naturally I told him that I had invited Max to dinner tonight at our place. Though I pleaded with him not to read Max's thoughts the second he greets him later. "Umm, Aniu where are you supposed to be anyway?" He asked. Of course his reaction at the fact it was my free period was rather funny honestly.

Naturally he came back with a witty comment which earned a smart remark in kind. When it comes to my brother, he can always get me laughing for no reason at all. Sadly our laughter gained the attention of his teacher and that didn't go over well with Iros. By the time I figured out what was actually going on Iros had mind bended his teacher. Seeing as he telepathically told her to say excuse me then to calmly walk away from us.

"Iros, why in the world did you mind, bend your teacher?" I asked him sternly. All he said was that she was being awful rude and it was certainly uncalled for in his mind. "Anyway, I should leave you alone I'll see you after school, okay." I said standing up. With a soft goodbye I walked out then headed towards my last two classes. The rest of my day went without much incident as I walked towards my brother's car.

When all of a sudden I saw someone familiar walking around the parking lot. Walking over I grabbed her attention and asked her if the two of us had met somewhere else. She introduced herself then told she was my waitress at Alexia's Restaurant last Saturday. When I added the fact my younger brother had returned something to her. As I sat down on my brother's car she asked if it was alright to hang around.

Naturally I didn't have a major problem with as she sat down besides me on the hood. Though I wasn't prepared for the next thing she asked if he opened the note she gave him. <Well, that explains the interesting conversation we had this past Saturday.> I thought. Moxxi was looking at me funny when I grew awful quiet after her question. All I told her that Iros doesn't get much privacy most of the time.

Exactly 15 minutes later he approached us, Celia was walking with him. When she saw the two of us sitting patiently on the hood of his car she said goodbye and left. "Hello, sis sorry I took so long Celia needed to ask me a few things." He said coming closer. As he came closer, Moxxi stood up and moved back onto the sideway. "That's fine there's someone else here who wants a word with you." I pointed out.

The young oddly busty cougar kindly tapped politely on his left shoulder. "Hi, Moxxi I'm real sorry that I didn't reply to your note I got distracted." He replied facing her. She forgave him then kindly asked me if I could give the two them some privacy. Nodding politely I got off the hood of his car then took a nice stroll in the meantime. I desperately wanted to eavesdrop but, I knew Iros would have my ass if I did.

About ten minutes later Moxxi came by thanked me for giving them privacy. From there she walked over to her ride then drove off and I rejoined my brother. When I approached him, he didn't say anything but, had this strange look on his face. "Earth to, Iros hello anybody home." I remarked waving my hand in front of his face. It was weird I've never seen this sort of look one his face before or ever for that matter.

Seeing as verbal method failed, I decided to do the one thing he hates the most. Reaching up I gave his ears a good yank which broke him right out of his daydream. Naturally he was less than thrilled about but, at least he was back to normal well kinda. I gave him a hug then asked him to unlock the doors then drop me off at my job. As he fired up the powerful engine he asked me where Razze and Finx were.

I told him that Finx and him were spending the night at her mother's place tonight. Her mother had come by a little while ago to pick and drove back to Finx's home. "So brother are you going to inform me on what, Moxxi did?" I asked intently. Of course before I could pull my cute look he told me flatly that it was none of my concern. With that settled he pulled his car out of his parking space then drove off campus.

Upon closer inspection I noticed a strange marking on his right cheek and asked him. His answer was swift, curt and very peculiar only making it worse for himself also. "I can't believe it you've finally discovered women, I can't wait to tell mom and dad." I squealed. Until he reminded about covering my little Sagan spell incident earlier today. Then he told me that when he feels the time's right he'd inform our parents about it.

Forty five minutes later we pulled into the parking lot where I work then I got out. "Alright brother I'll see you later on around seven o'clock tonight bye." I said. Giving me a nod then a wave goodbye before shifting the car into gear and driving away. From there I went inside then entered the employee locker room to put my uniform on. As I exited my shift manager Violet was surprised to see me at work so early.

Naturally the first question I asked was what Violet had planned for today. She was waiting for Derek to show up before she could clarify on anything important. Rolling my eyes then sharing a not so friendly comment about him which Violet agreed. In the meantime I decided to go occupy myself at my work station until he arrives. With that Violet let me go and said she'd summon everyone over to her office for a meeting.

An hour and a half later sure enough Derek coming walking through the door. Not in the door a minute Violet began chewing Derek out for being late once again. Of course his excuses only fueled her anger more seeing as there was a meeting and review today. Derek only response was he didn't know that was planned for today that didn't go over well. Violet really tore into him after then gave him his just desserts.

After hearing all that I made a strong mental note never to piss Violet off ever. Around five o'clock that evening I took my break and went outside for some fresh air. While I was enjoying the cool air I remembered to ask Violet about air-conditioning. As my break came to an end Derek came by my station to ask me something. Seeing as Violet's attention was elsewhere at the time being so I listen to him for a little bit.

He asked me for some advice that would help get Violet off his back some. I was perfectly honest with him by informing that I've been doing most of his work. Whenever he comes in super late or not at all and frankly I didn't appreciate having to pull double duty so often. My advice to him was to leave home a lot earlier to avoid any problems that appear. With that he thanked me for my honestly then returned to his station.

As I went to restart with my when Violet walked into the center of the floor. "Hey, everyone it's time for the meeting, let's get this nightmare over with alright." Violet announced. From there everyone calmly walked towards the conference room shortly after Violet spoke. Everyone slowly gathered in the large room then they calmly took their seats. Once everyone was comfy Violet stood back up then looked around the room.

"Now I know nobody likes these meetings sadly this meeting is mandatory. The boss and I here going to discuss your third quarterly performance of the year. Sadly this will also determine your future with this company but, this'll be done individually. In the meantime everyone go back to work and I'll come get each of you when it's time." She stated. With that everyone got up and returned to their workstations quietly.

Unfortunately I was the first called up the manager's office for my review. Personally I was dreading the whole time I walked upstairs and into Jerry's office. It had been a while since I last saw Jerry after a quick greeting we got the meeting started. I was nervous beyond words seeing as I've been spared this for the first two years. Now that I'm into my third year with this company it was all fair this time around.

Jerry was quick to notice my nervous behavior and kindly ask me to calm down. Apologizing by explaining this was my first time ever having to do something like this. He shared a useful piece of advice with me that really helped me reign in my nervous thoughts. From there we got my performance review under way which went rather well. Even Jerry was impressed with my work ethic and eagerly told me to keep it up.

What he said next left me giddy beyond words when I earned a good raise in pay. Of course I asked him why I deserved the raise he said I worked hard enough. Violet told me that those who prove themselves often go very far in this business. Though I wouldn't notice the increase until next time everyone gets paid for the week. From there I needed to get my tail back to work so I excused myself and left the office.

As I returned to my station my tail was wagging so fast it might've fallen off. The second my back was turned Violet appeared and wanted a private word with me. Curious as to what she had on her mind I put my tools down then followed her outside. "Alright, Violet what's on your mind this time around?" I replied. She sat down on the curb then motioned me to the same a few seconds later before she spoke.

"Nothing bad Jerry was impressed with your performance he's debating about promoting you." She stated. My jaw dropped open upon hearing that very statement from her lips. Of course when my brain finally caught up with the rest of me I asked her why. "I might've of run the idea by him after you left the room." She answered. This time around my eye grew large and my voice certainly matched my shock.

While we talked I heard the exhaust of my brother car coming towards my job. Sure enough his car entered the parking lot a few moments later and parked close by. Violet was quick to ask me who that was and I told it was my young er brother. Naturally she grabbed my ear then scolded me about not telling her I had siblings. My remark was that she never even bothered to ask me so in spite she called me a smart ass.

"I know you are but, what am I?" I teased sticking my tongue out at her. Thumping me on the back of the head in response then we just began laughing. "Would you care if I went over an introduced myself to your brother?" She asked getting up. As I stood up I told her that I didn't have a problem with it so long as she wasn't too pushy. "That's fine why don't you go punch out while I go say hello." She stated walking away.

Ten minutes I walked back outside and saw Violet leaning on the driver's door. From what I could see from a long distance they were getting along just fine. As I walked closer then I could've sworn I heard Violet laughing out loud. <Wow, that's the first time I've ever heard Violet laugh since being introduced. Though they better not be making fun of me or there's going to be hell to pay.> I thought walking over.

"Hi, there little brother" I stated leaning down by the passenger side window. "Hello, there my furry pain in the ass." Mom remarked giving me a big smile. Naturally I was caught with my pants down when I saw that my mother had come by to get me. Of course I asked her what's up and learned he was giving her car an oil change. From there I got into the car and closed the door behind me then put my seat belt on.

"Well, Aniu I see you on Wednesday evening okay have a goodnight hun." Violet said walking away. Mom restarted the engine then put the car in gear and pulled out of the parking lot. As we made our way home I told mom about my guest coming over for dinner tonight. "That's fine dear mind if I ask who you invited?" She replied looking at me. I told her about Max and being a mom she wanted to know more about, Max.

I told her everything I knew about him but, made sure to leave some things out. Her reply was he reminded her, a lot of my father when they first meet in college. My only concern at this point was that dad and Iros weren't tormenting Max. About a half hour later, we pulled into the driveway then walked towards the front door. "Hello, Aniu I do hope I'm not to early for dinner?" Someone asked making me turn around.

I was quick to make introductions and Mom was very impressed with his manners. With that she ushered him into the house to meet the rest of our unique family. "Thank you I appreciate you allowing me to join your family for dinner tonight ma'am." He replied. As we walked along the front yard then entered the front door into the entryway. <Cool, Mom likes him and now it's up to dad and Iros.> I thought with a smile.

"So, what took you so long fussy butt?" Iros teased as came down the stairs. Not wasting a minute I walked over to where he stood then slugged him in the arm "Must you embarrass me in front of company?" I inquired sourly. "No he won't be but, then again I have all night to do that. So mind telling me who this young man is?" He asked looking at him. He introduced himself to my father then we sat down in the living room.

"Alright, if you will excuse me I'm going to go wash up upstairs why you all bond." I stated leaving the room. After my shower I wasn't in my room for five seconds when someone knocked. It was mom she came by to let me know dinner would be ready shortly. Though she told me not to keep my guest waiting and keep an eye on the men. Taking her advice I finished getting dressed then made my way downstairs.

Though as I bottom of the stairs Mom summoned everyone into the dining room. The second I entered the room Max was quick to compliment me on my outfit. Of course my folks were caught totally off guard by his very honest behavior. "Okay, I'll admit this has got to be a first I've ever seen both our folks left completely speechless." Iros stated. Oddly enough my brother wasn't the only surprised by our parents reactions.

"It's good to see that your parents raised you to be a proper young man." Mom said. His reply that his mother believed that you should treat people the way as you wish to be. "There's an excellent way to be brought up in this day an age your folks must be proud." Dad added. Max admitted that his mother was proud but, didn't know his father. "We're terribly sorry hun I didn't mean to make such a slip." Mom remarked.

Max shared a bit of his family story with my family leaving mom shocked. To be honest I wasn't prepared to hear a majority of what he shared with us. Heck I didn't realize he had four other siblings since I though he was an only child. He informed us that he had younger three sisters and one baby brother back home. Mother was very curious about the ages of his four younger sisters which he shared.

"Max, there's something I'd like you to do for me when you go home later okay. Tell your mother I'd like to talk her about a few things when she gets the chance." Mom said. Dad was quick to ask her about why she wanted to talk to his mother about. When she told him her real reasons everyone in the room was a little taken back by it. "Besides I think his mother is in need of a well deserved break." She pointed out.

"Alright if you feel that strongly about it just don't overload yourself understand." Dad replied. With a soft kiss to his cheek we continued eating the meal she had cooked. The rest of the night went by quick due to the fact we were having a good time together. "Well, I'd better be getting home before she wonders what keeping me. Thank you all so much for allowing me to join you this evening." He smiled standing up.

As he walked towards the exit I got up from my seat and followed after him. "Max, hold on a minute there's something you've forgotten at the table." I replied. Naturally that got his attention along with my parents as I walked up to him. Of course he's looking at me funny until I leaned over then kissed him politely on the cheek. "... Uh, Good night, Aniu." He replied, as he exited the house leaving me with a big grin.

Once he was gone my parents wanted to discuss something other more importance. Naturally Iros voiced his opinion which settled some frayed nerves for the moment. Since I'm old enough to make my own decisions but, I was asked be mindful next time. Though I wasn't completely off the hook as far as mother was concerned. Given the look on her face she was well aware of what transpired earlier today.

Now it was dad's turn to act confused then he asked about what she meant. "Oh, she knows all too well what she did Now start explaining yourself young lady." She snapped. Before she could work herself up anymore Iros quickly stepped in and showed mom. A few moments later, she sat back in her seat then processed everything. "Forgive me hun I didn't realize that you cast Sagan magic reflexively." She said.

"It's okay mother you're trying to protect the family's legacy from outsiders." I replied. "Now I want your word that you'll both refrain from using your abilities outside this house." She stated. Of course neither Iros or myself didn't mind making that promise. With that she told us to get our tails upstairs and into bed it was a school night. As I fell asleep an hour later I completely forgot to set my alarm clock for tomorrow.
