The Lead Crown - After The Battle
Rhys gripped a paw around his waist as he watched Friar Arlowe scramble over to his injured son. Once again, the escapees were able to secure a so-called victory against the member of the Church that had been sent after them. But at what cost? The rat pondered as he left the two raccoon dogs, knowing that they would need some personal time in case Cruff weren't able to recover from his wounds. Even though he heard a few villagers from the tribe proclaim the fight ended with a win, the priest was unable to to agree with the optimistic view the village had. The Yew Tribe were the only reason why the conflict ended in a victory and while they were more than happy to help the escapees, Rhys couldn't understand why they got themselves involved with the violence. Most of those who passed on or received severe injuries were the deer of yew. Even if Cruffington is able to survive his injuries, the rat doubted the victory of the small group would still be considered valid and worthy.
The rat stared around the trashed village and frowned. He had barely been in the village before being whisked away by the friendly deer Runs-On-Air. As much as he would have loved to see more of the beauty of the deer's home area, the time spent with the youthful deer ended up being well worth it. The tribal cervine's glee and youthful happiness brought the priest a smile, something that Rhys hadn't done in a very long time. It was that happiness that brought the rat to follow the deer to a very gorgeous waterfall and lake. Even if Air didn't plan on skinny dipping, the rat would have still been really embarrassed to join the deer in the lake. Rhys no longer had the fit and agile body he once had before becoming a priest and seeing the tone and smooth body of the naked deer made joining that much harder. In the end, the sweet and well mannered deer's pleas for the rat to enter the water with him won out.
Rhys could feel his cheeks started to burn with embarrassment as the events that took place that point on began to blur together and give him a small spark of happiness. The flush in his cheeks mixed with the spark to cause a pleasure filled shiver shoot though his body. The rodent instinctively reached for his tail and held it close to his chest as he gave himself a small hug. Out of the corner of his eye he watched Aodhan and Aurelie. From the looks of it, the three of them were talking over the next course of action to do. Arlowe should be there with them to decide, but with him watching over his son, they were the best choices to lead. Rhys' happy mood quickly into confusion though as he watched a small group of outsides much like the group he was with, make their way over to the chief's tent. The rat started to get up to figure out who they were, but was quickly intercepted by Runs-On-Air and a few other cervine carrying around bundles of herbs. "Come help.... please?" The friendly deer asked grasping one of the rat's paws.
The priest took one last look at the unrecognizable group, from over the deer's shoulder. The small group reached up with the chief and greeted him with honor and respect. With that no longer being a worry on his mind, Rhys smile eye to eye with his friend and gave him a slight nod. "I would be more than happy to help."
