With a nod from her Vala and I walked to my car parked near the Mercury. Opening the automated garage door first then I unlocked the doors to my car. From there we climbed in, fired up the engine and slowly pulled onto the driveway. Closing the garage door before driving toward what was left of the front gates. The drive to headquarters was quiet for the most part and traffic was surprisingly light.

After pulling into our reserve parking space I cut the ignition then went inside. Most of the staff stopped to welcome me back then they resumed working. Next we entered the elevator and rode to the top floor where my office was. "Ah, welcome home Clark I trust your time with our overseas branch was smooth." Mrs. Reni asked. "Mrs. Reni please contact my personal and business attorneys when you can. I'd like them to attend this meeting also due to the possible purge of board members." I said. "Clark, I'm well aware of your legal right to remove members of the board. I highly doubt you have the authority to purge everyone unless it's a scare tactic." She stated. When the look on my face didn't waver she knew there was a lot more going on. "Alright, Clark I'll give them a call and ask them to attend this emergency meeting." She replied. Politely excusing herself and left my office to go make those phone calls.

"Vala, I don't want you present for this meeting and before you say anything. I'm going to ask you to run things while I'm dealing with this problem okay." I said. "Babe, I know what you're trying to do here and it's not going to happen. You know those bastards would kill for a chance to get you alone in a meeting. Sorry, hun I'm not about to let them a chance to stab you in the spine with a knife." She remarked.

"I understand but, someone needs to over look and direct the flow of traffic. You're the only person that's suited to handle the job while I put out these flames. Trust me love I don't like this anymore than you do but, I have to do something. Here, read this large file over and pay real close attention to where I've marked. You're gonna notice a strange pattern by the time you finish reading everything." I stated.

Vala took the thick green colored folder from me then sat down by the window. While she read I felt the back of my ears burning pretty much the entire time. By the time she finished reading the folder Vala wasn't angry at me for what I said. "Holy shit talk about being caught unaware I'm glad you don't want me present. I wouldn't be able to keep myself under control and that wouldn't help you." She admitted.

"Right besides with the attorneys there that should keep the board in check. Hopefully if things go well during this meeting a lot of problems will be fixed. I'm not about to associate myself with people that do what's stated in those files. Father did mention to keep them initially and make changes until I'm totally satisfied. As for what I do know and what has yet to be learned does leave me uncertain." I stated.

While she ran her errand Mrs. Reni re-entered my office then cleared her throat. "Both your personal attorney and the company attorney will be here shortly. They want to talk to you first so they get an idea of what in the hell you're planning." She informed. Thanking her she sat down in the chair directly across from me and continued. "Clark, please explain something why you're going through with this?" She questioned.

"I'm not about to be in business with people that secretly threaten my company. Either way you look at it, Lorna this is only for the sake of my family's legacy." I stated. With a quiet nod from her, she left my office and happily returned to her desk. As the doors closed behind her I resumed my daily work until the attorneys arrived. Meanwhile Corna and Vala were on route to the security company she invested in.

"Alright, Corna give my pager a buzz when you're done here and be careful." Vala said. Giving Vala a pat on the shoulder before stepping out of the car and closed the door. Once inside the building Vala pulled back out onto the road and drove away. Where I was having a long one sided talk with both respected attorneys in my office. As my car pulled into our reserved space our conversation had just finished.

Both legal officials were at a loss for words upon learning everything that I did. "This meeting is in an hour that gives us some time to weigh all your options. Gives us your word that you won't do anything until we can confirm this purge. Mr. Blazein I couldn't agree more that something should be done about the board." Colleen said. Even the company attorney agreed completely with the thirty year old gray fox vixen.

"Alright you two can use my office to work something out for the meeting. There's something else I need to do and I'll see you in the conference room." I replied. Next I got up out of my seat, walked toward the doors when Harvey stood up. He caught up to me and grabbed my shoulder then he gently pulled me aside. "Harvey, I have no intentions of sitting around while they do what they please. I'd rather burn in the deepest part of fucking hell before dealing in tools of death. So if you think I'm going to abstain myself from the meeting I planned than think again." I remarked. Giving my shoulder a squeeze and said that wasn't the plan he had in mind. He wanted me present for this meeting while Colleen and him handled the board.

He called Colleen over this way she could learn about his entire plan of attack. Once he was finished Harvey had me go get something to eat while they worked. For the next hour I wandered around the place until Mrs. Reni called my pager. With a heavy sigh I made my way upstairs to the conference room for the meeting. Upon entering the room Jack and Camille had arrived early even they looked unsure.

Despite knowing them for almost all my life how could they allow this to occur. Putting up a front I greeted them as if nothing was going on then took my seat. Following suit a second later as the rest of the board members arrived one by one. As they sat down in their assigned seats and naturally Beatrice spoke up first. She was quick to demand my reasons for calling this pointless emergency meeting.

Not bothering to give her any kind of response I sat there waiting patiently. When both attorneys joined us I stood up and welcomed them into the meeting. Of course everyone in the room looked at one another and acted like I predicted. From there expressions and voices they were worried about what's going on. Timing it perfectly I stood up and placed my hands firmly onto the marble table.

"I'm sure all of you are wondering why you're all here and I'm about to tell you. As all of you know I just came back from a trip overseas from my branch company. During my time there I stumbled across something that will be addressed shortly. Harvey will take over for the time being and he'll inform you on everything." I said. Without saying another word I quietly and calmly exited the room for a few minutes.

While I stood out in the hallway I could hear him speaking to the board. Sure enough like clock work Beatrice slapped her hands on the table and spoke. Judging from her tone she was furious that made me smile as he continued to talk. Naturally my grandmother was only the first of a long list of very angry outbursts. The only two people in the room that I didn't hear through the door were Colleen and Harvey.

After a few minutes the conference room door opened then Colleen exited. Closing the door behind her this strange satisfied smile appeared on her muzzle. Before she could say anything the sound of footsteps coming closer alerted us. Turning to the source of the noise a familiar figure turned the corner and approached. Colleen flinched when she saw Vala walking over to where we were presently standing.

Exhaling heavily I looked angrily around the room at everyone making them flinch.

Nobody was brave enough to challenge me all except for one person, Cheryl. They grumbled as they filed out of the room and closed the door with a slam. "You're wondering why I didn't mention your name during that little maneuver?" I asked. She nodded as I sat back down in my seat while Harvey was right behind them. "I'll be honest with you it wasn't an easy decision but, you did help me." I started.

"Consider this your second chance to prove you deserve to remain on the board. Do you recall the phone number and information you passed along to me? Well, that turned into a pretty worth while investment and that's what saved you." I pointed out. Cheryl looked at me like a feral deer in the headlights upon hearing that admission. With a sigh of relief she relaxed in her chair but, I warned her to behave herself.

"Alright, Clark mind if I ask what your plan of attack is going to be now? Since you fired everyone except me, Jack and Camille from your board of directors?" She asked. "Believe it or not my company isn't going to be hurt by what's occurred today. Now if the five of us can work together I'm positive we can find a new direction." I said. Cheryl crossed her arms for a moment, while she processed everything carefully.

"Hmm, sounds like a plan and in return for this second change let me assist you. Since you're going to be in for a nasty fire fight with the former board members. Now finding a new direction for your company shouldn't be too hard to figure out. I know a few businesses that might be interested in investing with this company. My next question is do you want me to set up some appointments for next week?" She replied.

"Cheryl, make it two weeks there maybe some backlash from today's meeting. If I know my grandmother she isn't going to take what happened sitting down." I stated. I wouldn't be surprised if she's working on her revenge for what I've done. "Well, in my opinion perhaps we should focus on this mess first and the rest later. Unless you've got a game plan already in motion in the event the worst should occur." She replied.

"When it comes to my mother's side of the family they live for this sorta stuff. Luckily I'm well prepared for any legal or illegal action they'll be planning for. In either case you, me, Vala, Jack and Camille are going to have our hands full. That's something we can worry about tomorrow since the real battle will be staring soon. In any case let those businesses you mentioned know about my company." I stated.

She gave me a soft nod while I stood up then made my way towards the door. Before leaving the room I said alright on notifying the companies she mentioned. If they wanted to come here to look around I'm more than happy to make time. With that we left the conference room then walked to the elevator that goes to my office. "Sounds like a plan do you want me here tomorrow to help out with anything?" She asked.

"Since I don't know what will actually happen tomorrow let's play it by ear." I replied. Shaking my hand goodbye Cheryl took her leave and I went upstairs to my office. The elevator ride was quiet from start to finish and when the doors opened. Sure enough my earlier hunch proved more correct than I first thought it'd be. My grandmother was shouting at Mrs. Reni then changed targets when the bell chimed.

Her timing could've been any better as she stormed right for the elevator. At the last second I ducked out of the cab then hit two buttons on the panel. Before she could resume the doors closed the car descended down to the lobby. Where security would escort her to out her car then off my property with little trouble. Even though she was going to fight my security staff all the way to the parking lot.

"I've crunched the numbers and I don't see any problems with calling a half day." She stated.

"Clark, I do hope you know what you're doing keeping Cheryl on the board of directors." She said.

In the meantime I'm going home and spending time with my family so take care." I replied. When the elevator doors opened and as I went to enter I walked into someone.
