#1 of Partners

Here is the beginning of what could be a new series. Sergeant Jacob 'Cobra' Danson of the Metropolitan Police Force in London travels to his office to begin his first shift of the week only to find that he has to do something that he has come to loath, he has to train or 'puppy walk' a new partner, a young and very good looking Doberman by the name of Paul Banks. So how will the two dogs get along? Will Danson get any action of the sexual kind? Will Banks be so uptight as to not want anything to do with Danson? Let's see which way things go!

Chapter 1.

By Wolfie Steel.

It's Monday morning and I am in my car travelling into the office, I'm a Rottweiler and a cop, my name is Jacob 'Cobra' Danson, I have worked for the Metropolitan Police Force for a little over twenty years now, hehe, yeah I know what you're thinking "Hey you only get twenty years for life" yup I've heard it before.

I park my truck in the parking area and then I walk towards my office, maybe today is the day where I can make it all the way into my office before I get yelled at by Alonso Brant, sorry that should be, Captain Alonso Brant.

I stand at my office door with my paw on the door handle when suddenly....

"Cobra, I want your ass sitting opposite me in no more than two seconds, and the clock is ticking"

Yeah that would be the huge Shire Horse AKA Captain Alonso Brant. I knock on the Captains door and make my entrance.

"You yelled Sir?"

The Horse cuts me a snide look, it is then that I notice that we are not alone; a young Doberman occupies one of the spare seats in the office.

"Sergeant Jacob Danson I want you to meet Constable Paul Banks, he has joined us straight from the academy, so naturally I wanted to partner him with someone who has quite a bit of experience"

I close my eyes and grumble a little.

"Damn Sir, you've put me on puppy walking duty again, you know what happened the last time"

Suddenly the hard eyes of the Captain are boring right through my skull.

"It's entirely up to you Sergeant Danson, you either puppy walk a new partner, or I staple your ass to your seat and give you a cushy desk job, it's your choice bud"

I open the Captains door and head outside his office; I then peer back into the office and at the Doberman.

"Well Constable Banks, if I'm puppy walking you then you had better come with me"

The Doberman springs to his feet and quickly exits the Captains office, we both enter my office and I close the door behind us.

"Okay Banks, take a seat, it's time for me to go through some rules and regulations Cobra style, rule number one, this is my office so what I say goes, rule two, my name is Sergeant Jacob Danson, or just Sergeant Danson, only once you have gained one hundred percent of my trust will I allow you to call me Cobra, rule number three when we are on the street you do as I say, this will not only make me happy it will also serve to keep you safe. These rules are set in stone and non negotiable, follow them to the letter and you and I will get along just fine, but cross me up and I will chew you up and spit you out"

Man this guy seems to be so subby, the last partner I had to break in took my tirade and then dealt me one of his own, now that worked out as a fantastic partnership, until one night when we went out to a bar together, I had had a pretty shitty week and so I got totally wasted on beer and shots, and in my inebriated state I made a move on him, his name was Chase Hendson and like me he was a Rottweiler, but unlike me he was as straight as a ruler and so did not take too kindly to me grabbing his butt. Come to think of it even though it is only Monday, I think this week is going to be pretty bad too, so maybe another drinking session will allow me to...open up a little more to Paul.

With my greeting now over I collect my warrant wallet, and my car keys, we both then head out of the office and towards the parking area where we will collect my police cruiser. By the time that we have been sitting together in the car for an hour I notice that Paul has still said absolutely nothing to me, dear god I hope that they haven't paired me with a mute.

"So Banks, seeing as you and I are going to be partners I guess that we should use the time where we are not fighting crime to get to know each other a little better, so why don't I start and then you can tell me about yourself afterwards?"

The Doberman just sits there and stares at me; oh well in for a penny in for a pound.

"Okay where to start? Well you already know my name so let me fill in the rest, I live alone in a two bedroom house just on the outskirts of London, both of my parents have disowned me for...reasons which I am not going into here, my brother is the only one of my family to talk to me, my sister hates my guts, though the feeling is mutual, I am forty two years old and my star sign is Taurus"

I look back to the Doberman and wait for a few moments; suddenly Paul finds his voice and begins to tell me about himself.

"I'm Paul Aiden Banks, it is my thirtieth birthday today and like you I live alone because my parents threw me out after I made some life choices which didn't seem to sit too well with them, but again like you said to me, those reasons are on a need to know basis, and at the moment you don't need to know, as for my star sign, I too am a Taurus, so it seems that you and I have quite a lot in common"

Ah, there it is the little barbed comment that told me that Paul wasn't quite as subby as I first thought; I'm brought out of my thoughts by Paul's voice.

"So Sergeant Danson, let me ask you a question, why is it that you were so quick to lay down the law when we first met this morning? I mean is it something that I did or did I just catch you at your time of the month?"

I let out a slight chuckle, oh sure Paul was slow to start but he seems to be getting up to speed quite nicely.

"Yeah, it is nothing against you Banks, it's just that every time I break in a new partner things start off really good and then gradually over time it turns to shit, I don't know if it is something to do with my personality or something like that but my partners never want to stay with me for very long"

The Doberman nods his head.

"Well bud if you will take a little constructive criticism you need to stop being such a tight ass, case in point, you call me Banks instead of Paul, do you have any idea how annoying that is?"

It is at this point that I make a decision, and acting upon it I pull into the parking area of a local café. Once I have parked the car I lift the handset of the car radio.

"Despatch this is car 32, we are going to be off air for half an hour while we have our rest break, car 32 out"

We both get out of the car and head into the café, as the weather outside is quite warm I order two ice cold soft drinks, we carry our drinks to an empty table and then we take a seat.

"So Paul, let's put our cards on the table shall we? I must admit that up until what you said about me being a tight ass I had you pegged as a subby little yes dog, but now I have had to re-evaluate my thoughts, and so I am going to let you into some...privileged information, the reason behind my being disowned by my folks is the fact that I am a very gay Rottweiler, now the guys in the office don't know this information, the only ones that do are my ex partners and I am in contact with them constantly, and so if this information becomes public knowledge then yours will be the first legs that I break"

A look of complete steel and conviction fills the Doberman's eyes.

"Sergeant Danson, I know when to use my muzzle and when to keep it shut because you see the information that you have just given me strikes a chord with me, you see I am the son of a Christian Minister, and let me tell you that most Christian's if they found out about me would probably burn me at the stake, as you said earlier, these snippets of info are on a need to know basis, and so no one else needs to know"

A slight smile graces my muzzle as I take another sip from my drink.

"In that case Paul I think that for the moment your trust status with me is set at around ninety percent which means that you have at least earned the right to call me either Jacob, or Cobb, if you hit the dizzy heights of one hundred percent trust then you may call me Cobra too, maybe with extras built in"

I look at my watch and realize that coffee break is nearly over.

"Okay Paul, drink up because I gotta start your puppy walking"

An almost silent chuckle leaves Paul's muzzle as he finishes his drink and then stands from his seat, we both head towards the car when I take a leap of faith and probably take leave of my senses, and I launch the car keys at Paul.

"You're driving, I want to see how you will cope with driving while being observant and handling any radio calls, what I am basically saying is that I want you to be me for the day and I warn you now, I am keeping score"

Paul begins to shiver a little at the thought that he is now under my microscope with regards his performance in the field. Paul unlocks the car and we both get in, we both buckle up and then he begins to put the keys into the ignition.

"Okay bud, before you go starting the engine maybe you should call into despatch to alert them to the fact that we are back after our coffee break"

Paul shakily reaches his paw out for the radio handset; he lifts it to his muzzle but then is unable to articulate what he wants to say.

"Okay proby give me the handset and then commit what I do to memory"

Paul hands me the radios handset.

"Despatch this is car 32, please show us as back on duty, car 32 out"

I replace the handset and then I look at a heavily frozen Paul Banks, a slight chuckle leaves my muzzle.

"Okay Banks, now you can put the keys into the ignition and start the car, and then if you would like we can make a stop at your apartment so that you can change your boxers"

The young Doberman's brain finishes rebooting and he suddenly comes back into the same world that I am in, he then starts the car and begins to pull out of the parking area, as we hit the main road again the radio activates.

"Any units in the vicinity of Harold's Grocery Store on the corner of Bakers Road please attend to reports of a possible robbery"

Paul does nothing; he is just staring straight ahead while driving.

"Banks, we are the closest so call it in"

Again the Doberman picks up the handset, but this time he finds his voice.

"Roger that despatch, please show car 32 as attending"

The despatch controller giggles a little as she acknowledges the call.

"Well proby, you have just made your first radio call, I'm proud of you, now all you gotta do is get us there before the shop shuts for the night, oh and please drive to the letter of the law, we are cops not idiots"

Two minutes later we are walking into Harold's Grocery Store to speak to the owner about the report of the robbery, which turned out to be a false alarm, an elderly lady had misplaced her purse but after digging deeper into her bag she found it.

The rest of the shift goes by without any further incident, we pull into the stations parking garage and climb out of the cruiser, I look at the Doberman and I can still see that he is as nervous as hell.

"Relax Paul; your first duty is finally over"

The Doberman runs to the corner of the garage and hurls his guts up, I just shake my head and smile a little as I walk slowly over to him, and I gently rub his back as he continues to throw up.

"If I had a pound for every puppy that threw up after his first shift with me, I wouldn't need to work again"

Paul finally gets himself under control.

"Sorry Cobb, I'm just so nervous right now, I mean when you first put me behind the wheel I just went to pieces, I was seriously crapping myself, on top of all of that I made so many rookie mistakes..."

I stop him before he has chance to say anything else.

"Paul, you made those rookie mistakes, because you are a rookie, I would be really pissed if I was puppy walking an officer of twenty years service, now I don't know what plans you have for dinner this evening but they just got changed, for tonight and in fact the rest of this week I will treat you to dinner and then a beer, but if it gets out that I have gone easy on you, I will kick your ass"

For the first time since I put Paul behind the wheel of the cruiser I see a weak smile spread across his muzzle, he then just nods and follows me into the station. Once inside we head straight for Captain Brant's office, as we round the corner by his office I see that the Horse is standing outside by his office door.

"So Constable Banks, you made it through the day without getting your ears ripped apart or your tail ripped off so I would call it a success"

I break into the conversation before the Doberman can answer.

"You know what Captain; Constable Banks here has all the trappings of being an incredible police officer, he even spotted one or two things earlier that I missed, in short he is a partner that I would be happy to keep"

Paul is about to protest about me lying to the Captain, that is until I gently grab hold of his butt and squeeze. Fortunately for me the Captain didn't see the contact.

"Okay guys, well your first shift together is over, now get out of here and have a good night"

I giggle slightly as both Paul and I head out to our cars and the night out that I had promised, maybe by the end of this night I will be getting a little closer to the sexy assed young Doberman, well hope springs eternal!
