#11 of The Orphans Among Us

(Sukura)

The conversation at the table resumed as Pengu and I sat down and I turned immediately to Marrissa. "One of the girls thought it would be amusing to use a Rune of Silence on a teacher during study hall today."

Marrissa raised her eyebrow and glanced at the girl in question. The girl shrugged and said " He was annoying he just kept yammering on and on." Marrissa turned to me for conformation and I nodded. "Yeah he sure did talk a lot." The head witch looked at the girl. "Eris you should know better." the girl cringed but nodded. " It won't happen again." she said lowering her eyes.

I looked to Pengu and found that he was busily eating his food. I shrugged and started to do the same. "You won't believe the day we have had Marrisa." I said between mouthfuls. She gestured for me to continue and I explained our day so far. By the end of it everyone at the table had their mouth open food forgotten. The lunch bell rang and Pengu and I headed to gym.

Thankfully gym was easy today. Pengu and I had no trouble keeping up with the others and the game of volleyball was actually fun. Once they day was over Pengu and I headed to our room. We locked the door and both of us collapsed onto our beds. I turned to look at Pengu and said "Today was rough wasn't it?" he nodded in agreement.

I chose my next words carefully blushing as I asked "Pengu will you be my mate?" He turned an adorable shade of pink and said "A-are you sure?" I nodded once. "Yes I will gladly be your mate Sukura." I got up and got into his bed and carefully hugged him before releasing the hug and slipping back into my own bed.

"Sukura? How come it took you so long to ask me?" "A lot of stuff has been going on. I knew I liked you but I didn't know if you felt the same way. I figured it out though after the school shooting. I was just trying to find the right time to ask." I smiled at him wagging my tails.

He nodded and then with smile he dived after my tails. I yelped and then giggled realizing what he was doing I let him grab all my tails and then he surprised me by licking one. I couldn't help but let out a soft moan. He looked at me then went back to snuggling with my tails. I didn't stop him and together we drifted to sleep.

In the morning I woke up to see that Pengu was still snuggled up in my tails. I smiled and gently tried to remove them but he grabbed at them whimpering. I didn't have the heart to wake him so I gently eased a pillow over my tails and tried to move them again. He grabbed the pillow this time and I carefully got out of the bed and then covered him up again before leaving a note on the bed to let him know where I had gone. I gathered up a few things and a towel before heading to the shower. Once inside I turned on the water to lukewarm and adjusted the pressure until it felt right.

I undressed and slipped under the spray enjoying myself for a few moments before I grabbed the Shampoo and starting to use it on my fur. Once I was done I let it set for a few minutes before I got under the spray again and washed it all out. After I dried off and dressed I checked to see if Pengu was awake and he wasn't. I didn't want to rush him and I did leave him a note. I decided to see if I could track down a decent book in the school library and slipped out of my room locking the door behind me. On my way there I noticed Travis on the far side of the corridor so I changed my mind and made my way towards him.

"Travis what's up?" I called when I was in range. He waved to me and waited for me to catch up. Once I was beside him he said "Not much. I was thinking of visiting you two but I didn't know if you would be awake considering it is a Sunday." I nodded. "Can you keep a secret?" He looked at me with a knowing smile. "You asked him didn't you?" I blushed but nodded. "I figured as much. I am happy for you and I hope it works out for you." I gave him a quick hug and then released him. "Thanks but let's not spread that around." Travis raised an eyebrow at me "Sukura you and I both know that no one at this school is much of a match for you." I gestured for him to follow me and we started to walk to the school gardens. "You might be surprised about that." "What do you mean?" "I mean there are quite a few people here that could easily be more than a match for me."

In the gardens I saw Marrisa and the coven so I headed towards them. "Sukura you know those are witches right?" I glanced at him. "Yes I know that. They happen to be the people I spoke off." By now we were just outside the circle the Coven was casting. Marrisa looked up after she positioned the last person. "Oh hey Sukura. What brings you here?"

"Nothing really. I just needed some air. I was going to take a stroll around the gardens with my brother."

"Brother?" she questioned. "Well adopted brother. Travis this is Marrisa the Leader of the Elemental Coven. Marrisa this is Travis my brother. We were adopted at the same time."

Travis was looking uneasy but he shook her hand when she held it out. "It's nice to meet you." she smiled at him and he grinned back. I watched the two with a smile on my muzzle. There was a cough from behind Marrissa and she turned her attention to the girl. "ok I'm coming." She made her way to the center of the circle and I grabbed my book of shadows from my bag and a pen tracing the runes of the circle. As I glanced up I noticed that Marrissa seemed to know what I was doing and was waiting for me to finish. I nodded to her when I was done.

"This circle will purge the school of any negative energy. The runes of happiness and strength have been placed in the center and as I call upon your elements I want you to think happy thoughts." her actions suited her words and soon every element present was summoned. The circle glowed with the color of each element and looked like it was cut into 4 equal parts. Blue for Water, Red for Fire, Green for earth and Purple for Spirit.

Soon Marrissa began a chant that I couldn't hear and I couldn't lip read either. When she finished a glowing white dome extended from their cirlce and seemed to cover the school before winking out of existance. Then Marrissa closed the circle and walked toward Travis.
