Where... am I? Chapter One
My family and I are on a cruise, we were fairly rich so you can guess how we could afford it. My sister and I weren't spoiled brats like most rich family kids as well. My name is Refr, my little sisters name is Glacia (Glay-Shuh). We are a family of Arctic foxes. My parents were in their room doing, god knows what. My sister was at the pool, and I was there to watch her, yet I'm usually reading a book or something. I was in high school, I'm 17 years of age, my sister is about 8, I think, I don't really pay much attention anymore.
I'm into books that involve swordplay so I guess medieval genre. About half way through my book, my sister climbed out of the pool.
"Hey, big bro," she said, "can we leave now?"
"Sure." I said, closing my book.
We walked back to our rooms. Our rooms were connected by a bathroom.
"Don't forget to take a shower," I said, "your covered in chlorine."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." she replied bitterly.
Dinner came around and my sister got dressed and asked, "Hey, you commin' along? We gotta meet mom and dad."
"No thanks," I said, "I'm going to go to bed a bit early."
"Oh, okay!" She said exiting the room.
I let out a long yawn and fell asleep. It felt like only a couple hours, but I woke up to the sound of thunder and fierce winds. I went into my sisters room, and o my surprise, she wasn't there! I ran outside to see my parents and sister hanging on to the railing.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"We're caught in some storm!" My father yelled. "Hold on to the railing!"
For a few seconds we held on for dear life, but a huge wave hit the ship and knocked my sister overboard! "Glacia!" I yelled, and thus, I jumped into the water after her. Struggling to reach the waters surface, another wave hit me and knocked me off balance. I reached the waters surface and looked around. I saw her about ten feet away from me. I swam over to her, and grabbed her.
"Hey, it's okay, I got you." I said calmly.
I swam back over to the boat to grab the side ladder, but a wave force me into the ship hitting my head against it. Everything began to grow darker and fuzzier. In the distance I could hear someone calling, "Big bro! BIG BRO!"
I couldn't regain my focus and blacked out... Hours must have passed before I woke up. I could feel sand under me, but I lacked the strength to get up. Again in the distance I could hear an unfamiliar voice, "Hey! You Okay!?"
I tried to lift my head to see who was calling but I blacked out once again. During my little black out, I dreamed that I had my sister within grasp but the ocean tides took her further away from me.
"Hey, wake up!"
I awoke...
