Shattered Glass: Chapter 10/ Tears Were Shed
Sorry, I took some time deciding the direction I wanted this series to go! At first, this chapter might have been the ending, but I decided that I shouldn't end it so soon! So onwards with Chapter 10!
Shattered Glass: Chapter 10 10/28/15 Kyle's perspective We sorta fell asleep in eachother's grasp on the beach. It should've hurt like hell, but it didn't. I was still awake, so I observed John while he was sleeping. His face looked even cuter while he was sleeping. How was it possible? His breathing released and put weight on me. I didn't feel crushed. In fact, I felt like I needed him closer. I lay my head on top of his shoulder. We snuggle closer together like that for awhile. I feel somthing poking me. I wake up abruptly to a stick poking us. "Are they dead?" I laugh, freaking whoever was poking us. I wake up John, wo says,"We had better not disturb any other people babe. You know how parents are." I grin and we start packing up everything that our picknick included. We got into his car and started driving home. "So, are we gonna do Halloween this year?" "Sure! We can be those gay couple monsters everyone says we are!" "Well, let's stop at this costume store to the left." He drives over to a building labled Spooks & Such. It looked temporary, but that was to be expected since Halloween wasn't a very long holiday. We came upon a Frankenstine suit for me and a Vampire suit for him. We went home and started playing games. 10/31/15 John's perspective. I look into the mirror to see a totally unrecognizable self. I look to my side and see another figure dressed as Dracula by my side. "Damn, we look different." "I still think you look cute as when I first met you. I pull him into a kiss. I marvel at his football structure. His toned body. His thoughtful eyes. We leave to scavenge around the neighborhood for candy, usually getting disaproving glances by the adults, but we didn't care. We had already gotten around 6 candy bars, and many packs of Nerds, when we saw a pirate approaching us. Yep, the brown hair, the innocent smile. It was Wally. "Hey guys!" "Hey, Wally" we say together. "What have you guys gotten so far?" "Nothing much, Do you want this Hershey's bar?" "Really!? Thanks!" I gave him the Hershey's bar while we continued walking to the next few houses. "I really can't believe that fight from a week ago got on the news." "Yeah. Are you allright? Did they make you a villian in the article?" "Let's just say I've gained a bit more power over my bulliers." He laughs while holding up his arm and flexes his nonexistant muscle. We laugh and walked up to the next house down the street. It opens and I immediately step in front of Wally protectively. In front anwsering the door is Bruce. "Look, I've learned not to mess you
fags." He looks angrily at Wally. "Don't touch him!" I growl. He laughs and gives us one gumdrop each. He then eyes us evily as we get out of his area. "You know you don't have to protect me you know." Wally says shyly. "I actually asked that very same question awhile ago." "What was the anwser?" Wally asks while looking into our eyes. "We love and care about you."We hug him from both sides. He doesn't resist and snuggles into us. "Well we look like a bunch of weirdos!" We laugh and walk to the coffee shop to see if we can get some sort of pastry. They ignore us and we soon make our way back home since it was getting late. "So, did you get any closer to your crush?" Wally started tearing up. "Yeah. He said that I was a devilspawn and I should never be able to look into thier eyes again. He called me a faggot, but worst of all he said....He-he said I would die alone, and no one would love me or even care to be at my funeral because I'm a faggot." He was crying heavily now. I looked at him in suprise. I suddenly got angry, and demanded,"Alright! Where's this son of a bitch at so I can give him a lesson!" Wally stopped crying and for a moment look worried. "Don't. He's-He's the brother of Wayne Chimuriga, the very same one who's in prison now." I feel Kyle tense up. I put my arm on his shoulder and look into his blue eyes to give him comfort. "Did you know?" "No, I never knew his last name until he had to go to the principal's office." It made sense. I under all costs would try to keep my association with a syckopath at a minimum. Like his brother, Mark was probably angry at the gays for putting him in jail. He saw killing them off as 'purification' and not a horrible deed. I have to protect those I love. Wally was crying again and we stopped on an old bench with the wood still suprisingly sturdy. He lay snuggled with us, crying his little heart out. "Wh-what if he's right?" I look into Wally's eyes to see his flame of determination flickering, dieing off. I hold him tight, crying into him as I tell him. "Wally, I will love you, Kyle will love you, you're parents will love you. You are everything to us Wally. I couldn't live with myself if I lost you. Just because someone is so dumb not to see the determined, sweet, caring, boy I see doesn't mean everyone doesn't. He doesn't know what love is. He believes it's just gender roles getting married, but it's so much more than that. I wouldn't be here right now if I didn't love you. It hurts me even more than it hurts you to see you have to go through all the shit I have to go through even though you're a kid! I'd do anything for you Wally, no questions asked! It's all because I
love you. You're my brother, Wally, I cant stand to see you suffer." I grabbed his hand in assurance, and he looked into my eyes. Slowly, the fire grew back in his eyes. He hugs us both very tightly, and gives us a piece of chocolate off his hershey bar I had given him. He wipes off the the tears and smiles, "life's a bitch, huh?" We smile and laugh as we walk him down the street to his house. His mother looks at us like she's known us for a long time. She gestures towards us and we come closer. She's wearing an apron, flour just barely getting her blouse. "Wally, dinners upstairs! I actually recorded that anime junk you like! So you'd better watch it before I delete it!" Wally scrambles with his fried chicken upstairs. His mother looks at us, inspecting us. She nods and says, "yep, you perfectly fit Wally's descriptions. Why don't you come inside?" She shoves us along into the living room. She herself looks to be about 30 years old, hazel eyes, black hair. She looks to be a nurse, but I can't say for sure. "I must thank you on how much you've helped Wally. Though I have to doubt you have good intentions as a mother, as an observer, you guys have really helped him have better attitudes. He comes home crying, and once he gets back from his walks he's perfectly fine, almost cheery. I usually press it out of him how he got cheered up, and every time it's been about his brothers. At first I thought about taking him to the doctor, but the school sent me a video. It had to guys that fit every detail he had given about you. I then knew I had to meet Wally's heroes. He's become so much more confident. His grades have improved and everything. I guess I should be happy, but honestly I'm a bit flustered on how his own mother can't make him well, but two teenagers can. The school actually called about him being beat today at school." "Wait- he was beaten!?" "Yeah, didn't he tell you!" "Wally?" He came down the stairs. "Mom! I promised they weren't pedophiles!" He walked over to us. "Wally, you were beaten?" "Yeah, after he said all those terrible things at me, he thre a few punches and I lost consciousness." "Why didn't tou tell us!" "I don't won't you guys to get hurt by him! If you were already willing to beat him up for me by him giving names to me, You would be willing to do it 10 times more if you learned I had been beaten up! His brother's dangerous. I don't want to loose one of the only things that's keeping me going!" He was crying. We hugged him again. "We're not going to go anywhere Wally. We will still be here tomorrow." He cries into our shoulders, and slowly, he goes to his mother to hug her. She was shocked, "What did that bitch say!" Wally, word for
word explained what Mark had said. Making his mother turn red as a tomato with anger. "I'm contacting the school about this! This is outrageous! You two!" She pointed her fingers whilst not even glancing up from her phone."Tomorrow you're babysitting. Wally, you don't need to got to school tomorrow allright? Boys, explain yourself to your mother, and I'll lend in a hand. You're going to stay with Wally!" "But Moooommm!" "No buts mister!" "Fine" he lets out a sigh as he went back upstairs. "As for you two, thanks for being his helpers for this, but this shouldn't even need to happen! I'm contacting the school board for a meeting, all three of you will be victims. Boys, you have a hard week ahead of you, so get ready."
