A young man joins a role-playing game, but the game-master is a wizard, and turns him into his character: a female kitsune bard. Then he sends her on a quest to find a lost book....

I awoke the next morning cuddled into Koleb on the feather bed, my head on his shoulder, my arm on his chest, my tail over his legs. I smiled as I remembered our love making last night - it had been wonderful....

And then I thought about where I was: in the house Koleb had rented for us, and I looked at the ring on my finger that Koleb had given me; our engagement ring, to be sure.

I shook my head and thought about the ring: Koleb wanted to marry me! And he wanted me to have his children!

I remembered the dream I had had where I was pregnant, and I sighed. Back on Earth, I had always wanted to find someone I could fall madly in love with, and get married to. And start a family with....

And now it was happening, only I was the girl! I closed my eyes; I just couldn't see myself having a baby, and settling down to a domestic life as a mother....

Still, I was getting used to being a vixen. Back on Earth, I had a shitty day job, supplemented by playing nights at clubs. Here, I was a ranking bard, more than able to support myself by performing alone. My songs drew standing ovations, and my dancing was unlike anything the locals had ever seen before.

I could, I thought, be famous... if I forgot about the quest and just stayed here.

I thought about that for a moment: leave Earth behind, my shitty job, the low-paying gigs....

And Koleb loved me, and love just isn't something you throw away.

Could I really marry him and start a family? Was it even in me? And what about my quest?

I lay there, my thoughts and emotions in turmoil, wondering what I should do. Then Koleb began to stir, and his eyes opened. He turned to look at me, and said "Good morning, love."

"Good morning, Koleb", I told him, and he kissed me.

Then he yawned and sat up in bed, his naked muscular male todd body so handsome in the morning light it sent tingles through my female body just looking at him, my attention distracted for a second by the sight of his morning wood. I shook my head, still unused to how easily my new vixen body became aroused. Then I noticed my nipples where erect....

I shook it off, yawned, and climbed out of bed and started to get dressed, putting on my dress, sandals, belt, and belt-pouch. Koleb joined me, getting dressed himself, and I suggested we find breakfast before heading out to see Zohar.

"Okay", he agreed, "but I have to use the latrinum first", he first.

Latrinum?

Koleb walked into the hallway, and into a small room in the back of the house. Curious, I followed him. It turned out to be a bathroom, with a tub, a washbasin, and a toilet that consisted of a two wooden planks over a water trough that was fed by Sarnath's aqueducts, and emptied into the sewer, like the one in the Temple of Pleasure. Koleb sat down on the toilet, and I backed away to give him some privacy.

Neat, I thought,we have indoor plumbing!

Koleb came out, and I went in after him. I used the toilet, then took one of the sponges that was next to it, on a wooden handle like a brush, wet it, and cleaned the dried cum of my little furry pussy lips....

When I came out, Koleb was waiting for me, holding the scroll-case that contained the map we had bought. "Let's go get breakfast", he said, kissing me again, "there's a little place not far from here...."

So we set out onto the onyx-paved side-streets of Sarnath until we came to a little marble-clad restaurant, and had bread, meat, cheese, and fruit juice. I paid with a silver coin for the both of us, and we went to find Zohar's tower, hoping it wasn't too early.

We arrived and knocked on his door, and in a few moments Zohar greeted us, in his white toga. We walked into the ground floor, and laid out the map on the table.

Zohat went to his shelf and pulled out a brass pendulum on a light chain, and began to swing it over the map, invoking the names of spirits, his eyes closed. "I feel a tugging", he said, as the pendulum dropped lower and lower until it was over a singular tower on the map. Then it touched the map at the drawing of the tower.

Zohar inked a pen and circled the tower for us. "Here is your tower of Abremalin the Mage", he said with a smile. "One gold piece please."

I paid him, and Koleb rolled up the map and put it in it's scroll case.

I asked him if he knew how to cast Dispel Magic, because of the wards on the tower. He shook his head, no. "I'm not high enough level for that", he said, "but you can find someone at the Wizard's Guild who can help you out."

I asked him for directions to the Wizard's Guild, and we thanked him and left.

The Wizard's Guild turned out to be a sprawling marble-clad campus of many buildings, with wide manicured grounds. We walked down pebbled paths over small bridges crossing little streams in which brightly colored fish played, passing saffron robed students and the occasional servant.

I asked among the students where we could hire a mage, and they directed us to the administration building, which turned out to be a miniature marble palace with jutting towers. Inside, the antechamber was a bustle of activity, with lines waiting at desks, and all manor of patrons from every race and species I had heard of, including half-celestials, half-infernals and centaurs.

There where several greeters, and we approached one: a woman in a white toga. "We need to hire a mage that can dispel magic", I asked her, and she sent us to wait in a line with a number of merchants and city-folk.

When we finally got to the head of the line, a gruff man in saffron robes with a raven on his shoulder asked our business. Trying to be as diplomatic as possible, I told him we where on a quest to find a lost book, and that it was in a ruined tower protected by wards - and we needed a mage who could dispel the wards so we could get in.

He gave me a long look - a couple thousand negative volts of hairy eyeball - and wrote something on a piece of paper which he gave to his raven. "Nervermore!", cried the raven, and it took the paper in it's beak and flew off. Then he told us to wait by his desk until someone arrived.

We waited about half an hour until a young man in saffron robes approached. He introduced himself as Pindar - the proclaimed "hazard of the Academy". He said he was willing to go on any hazardous quest, and asked us how much money we had.

I told him he could have an equal share of the treasure, which, as I recalled, included a magic mirror that could see into other dimensions.

He looked at me like I had just landed here from the moon. "I'll want a hundred gold, up front, for material spell components", he said, "and also half the treasure."

My jaw dropped. A hundred gold? That would take me months to raise! Koleb and I stared at each other.

I politely told Pindar that it would take me a month or two to raise that much gold. He nodded, and told me to come back when I had the money, and he would be waiting. I thanked him for his time, and we left.

Dejected, I walked out of the campus with Koleb. He tried cheering me up, telling me he had plans to get a job at the Navigators Guild copying maps, and that we could stay together at the house he had rented until I had raised the money. I thanked him, squeezing his hand-paw, and we walked down the side-streets of Sarnath together until we found a nice restaurant to eat at. Then we headed home, and made love in the feather bed.

The next day, I got dressed and headed out to the Temple of Pleasure while Koleb headed to the Navigators Guild. I met with Sensuella and told her that I needed work for at least a month, and she was happy to have me.

So I danced and sang and played, even learning some of the the local ballads, and came home at night to cook dinner for Koleb (who, it turned out, didn't know how to cook) and then make love. Slowly, I fell into the routine of a domestic housewife, cooking breakfast and dinner, cleaning and shopping in the market, and taking our dirty clothes to the baths to be cleaned....

This went on for a week until something I hadn't expected happened. One morning I felt a little bloated, and started having painful cramps in my lower abdomen. At first I thought it was something I ate, and I asked Sensuella if I could see the Temple's healer, fearing food poisoning.

The healer was a kindly old man in a white toga, who asked me what my symptoms where. I told him, and he smiled and said: "it sounds like a bad case of menstrual cramps". That's when I realized I was having my period!

Well, I thought, at least I'm not sick or pregnant....

So he cave me a small potion for the cramps, and "for your flow" my choice of a compress of linen with a sponge on top, like a pad and worn by string around the thighs, or "a suppository of rolled linen for your privy member, anointed with clean honey and oil together, and with a sprinkle of powder of scammony on it" - an ancient tampon!

Who knew?

So I took the tampon he offered me, and inserted it. He told me not to dance with it on "lest it get lodged in the womb", and I thanked him and went to tell Sensuella that I needed a few days off "for my monthly."

She smiled at me and nodded, and I went home. That evening, I had to explain to Koleb that I was having my monthly cycle, and we couldn't have sex that night. He nodded and smiled and told me that he understood, and that night we just cuddled. Sometime that night my flow came, and the next morning I awoke to stickiness between my legs and a little blood on my groin fur. I took the tampon out in the latrinum, and cleaned myself as well as I could down there, glad that the potion the healer had given me was handling the cramps and bloating, and then I made breakfast for the two of us and left for work.

Having my period reminded me that I was going to need another Potion of Infertility in a week or so, and I asked Sensuella where I could find one. She told me that the Temple's healer would provide one when I was ready, and a week later I took it.

Back at home, Koleb and I poured over the map, looking for a good way to the tower. He settled on a series of streets that he felt he could navigate by orienting on the towers on the map. He also brought up wearing armor: "I don't want us going anyplace as dangerous as Ib without armor and shields", he said. So we went to several armorers and priced them - it looked like another fifty gold for the two of us. More work.

It was three more weeks before I had earned enough gold to pay Pindar his advance, but finally I had it all. But I still didn't have enough for the armor and shields we needed, so I kept working. Three days later a foreign prince from an Elvish land saw me dance and I caught a big break - he asked me for a private dance, and I agreed, hoping he wouldn't be asking for sex afterwards. But the Temple had guards, and I felt very safe working there.

Sensuella led us to a lavish private room, and I did my strip-tease for him, twerking for him and giving him a lap dance. He told me it was the most erotic thing anyone had done for him in centuries, and asked me to stay the night in his bed. I sighed: I knew that was coming. He was a very handsome and noble Elf, and I did actually wonder what Elf sex was like, but I had to turn him down, saying I was engaged to be married, and he paid me twenty gold anyway!

A few more days of work, another menstrual cycle, and a week after that another Potion of Infertility, and I had all the gold we needed to find the tower.

So Koleb and I headed to the armorer we had chosen, and got fitted for leather armor. They bound my breasts with strips of tied cloth, making a kind of bra, and fit me. We picked up our shields, and went to the Wizard's Guild to meet Pindar.

Again, we stood in line to meet a mage in saffron robes. We told him we where looking for Pindar, and had his one hundred gold pieces. This mage also had a raven familiar, and sent it in search of the man. So we waited another half hour until Pindar showed up.

Pindar was also wearing saffron robes, but they where smudged and stained "from experimenting with fulminating powder", he told us. We gave him the hundred gold, and he told us it would take him all evening to prepare, so we agreed to meet at our house the next morning.

As we walked home, I couldn't help but reflect on my time here with Koleb. My quest was coming to an end, and I honestly didn't know if I wanted to return to Earth or not. Koleb loved me, and love is a very precious thing... and perhaps I was slowly falling in love with him as well - in the very least I certainly felt affection for the guy....

When we got back, we put up our armor, weapons, and shields, and I unbound my breasts and made dinner for the two of us. We had lamb, cheese, bread, grapes, and red wine. Then Koleb asked me to dance for him, and I did, doing a slow striptease and this time giving him a lap dance as well. Then he picked me up in his muscular arms, making me "Eep!" in surprise, and carried me to the bedroom. "This could be our last night together among the living", he said, laying me down on the feather bed. I sighed: it could also be the last time I got laid as a vixen!

I looked up at him and gave him my best coy come-hither look, gesturing for him to join me, and he got undressed and crawled into bed with me. We made out for awhile, Koleb fondling my breasts and sucking my nipples, making me moan and writhe in ecstasy as he rubbed my clitoris. Then he asked me if I was ready - I nodded, quite hot, wet, and ready, and he penetrated me, fucking me until I had a wonderful, screaming orgasm. And he kept fucking me until he made me cum a second time, my second orgasm even more intense than the first....

After that, I gave him a full-body rub-down, massaging him for thirty minutes until he was erect again, and again we made out and made love.

The next morning we got up together, used the latrinum, got dressed, and I made breakfast for the two of us while we waited for Pindar. The cities bells had struck ten o'clock by the time Pindar arrived, wearing an explorers outfit, with a staff, two daggers, and several small potions on his belt, along with his component pouch for spells. He was also wearing a backpack.

We where already in our armor by then, and I had all of my equipment on me except for my lyre. Koleb was geared up as well, his cutlass by his side, and so we set off down to the main thorough-fare and took the omnibus - a kind of horse-driven open air passenger bus - to the far side of Sarnath, where it bordered on the still sea-green waters of the lake of Ib. From there, we went to a pier, and Koleb rented a small sailing skiff for us.

We sat out across the lake, Koleb working the sail, until we came within sight of the greenish stone ruins of Ib on the far shore. Koleb guided us to our landing spot, a partly ruined stone jetty that led onto the route we had chosen, and we tied up.

"All ashore", said Koleb, and got out onto the stone pier. Trepidation in my heart, and with not a little fear of the unknown, we began walking though the city, keeping a sharp lookout for the beings of Ib, rumored to dwell below.

We made our way through ruined streets, climbing rubble on occasion, as Koleb oriented on the visible towers and spires with the map, until we came to our destination - a hundred foot tall tower whose wooden door had long since rotted.

"Hold on while I cast Detect magic", said Pindar, and he made some arcane gestures and spoke some words in a strange language. "It's warded all right - by a high level fire spell. Give me a minute to dispel it...."

So we sat down on some rubble as Pindar did his work, and soon there was a flash of light and a sound like thunder, and Pindar announced "Okay, it's dispelled."

So we gathered around the entrance, and Koleb went up to the door and tried opening it, but it was stuck in place. He rammed against it with his shoulder a few times, and finally it opened in a cloud of dust. And together, we went in to Abremalin's tower.
