[4] Personal Log #1
#4 of Arctacia Mythos
Personal log recorded by A.Z.
I had a dream the first night I slept...I dreamed of rage...my vision filled with blood and hatred. Everything had to be destroyed, everyone had to die. I could smell the sweet scents of destruction and death as anything that stood in my way were felled by my very hands. But then I felt a cold stab into my back, the feeling of ice running through my veins...running so deep, sapping me of all my strength. My body was soaked in pain, it was everywhere, through every inch of my being and even to my soul. I could not move and I could barely think. Then, I felt the long, cold steel strands of wire pulling at me...pulling at my thoughts like an unseen puppeteer controlling its creation. A chilled voice began to speak to me. This voice spoke of things to come, things that would change...that I was going to change. The rage, the anger, the scent of blood...it was no longer desired...it made me sick and want to vomit. But, I could not. I was held with this feeling as that voice, that drilling voice...making its way so deep into my mind...telling me that I can no longer be who I was, paving a road of lies and deception as if correcting something inside me that was so wrong and...imperfect.
I felt myself slipping...the visions grew dark...I was falling...falling to some void that no light and no sound could be held in. Even my thoughts and feelings were muted as it consumed me, its blackness crawling over my body as if changing the very fiber of my being. I was losing myself to something I could not control or comprehend. Of all the things I could not do, I for one brief moment could feel my eyes widen...and the rush of fear came over me. There was nothing left. No sight to behold, no sound, no scent, no feeling...I was gone...
Some moments later...perhaps seconds...days...years...I could not tell. Time simply did not exist here. However long it was, I suddenly felt myself gasp as my head had breached past the surface of something murky. I took in a breath of life and desperation as if it were my first that I had ever experienced. It was shocking, yet it felt so wonderful all the same. I desired it, I wanted it. I could start to see...hear...all of my senses were coming back to me as I felt my body surface past a sea of cold blackness and into a bright world of warmth and comfort. It was like the very epitome of life from death itself, the two absolute opposites...and I was crossing the bridge between them. I frantically flailed about as I tried to escape the rich churn of death's decay. It wasn't long before a pair of warm hands picked me up under my arms and pulled me straight out from the uncertainty I had come from. I gazed back and tried to look upon my benefactor and could make out the bright radiance of something that was clearly celestial, a beauty that almost brought me to tears as I could feel an aura of such care and love come over me.
After a moment of being pulled into the air and carried off to nearby lush land, I was gently placed down. The soft feeling of grass embraced my feet as they settled upon the earth. I collapsed to my knees as I still felt weak to my core, but I was managing. I then gazed up as the strange creature who rescued me landed nearby and looked down at my shaken body. Whatever it was appeared humanoid, but skin so pale with hues of blue on a rather lithe frame. Long white hair adorned its head and mystical eyes of cold blue stared gently into my soul. I suddenly felt a rush come over me. Immediately, I gazed down to find the very ground I had rested upon was quickly departing from view as I was willed mysteriously into space by an unknown force. I gazed back up at the strange creature and caught a smile play softly over his face. Then, there was blackness...absolute nothing... it was quiet...deafeningly so. The creature then gestured about the darkness as he walked over towards me and kneeled down right in front. His voice was displaced from his own body and seemed to resonate within my own mind as he simply said, "Create...". It was then I suddenly awoke with cold sweat on my brow...
