Ghastillo Nightshade's Journal

Ghastillo Nightshade (Gas-tea-oh Night-Shay-d) is a husky anthro. His overfur is a dark navy blue and his underfur is black. The two are separated by curved yellow lines for markings. His eyes are a deep blue and his whites are evident, showing an innocent gaze. The only thing keeping him alive, really, is what his mother calls "Blessed Cuteness." She says that his appearance is so cute that guards are reluctant to hurt him. He doesn't deny it, considering he's never actually been attacked or shot at. His tail is slightly longer than normal, and his paw pads and claws are a dark purple. His nose is of a normal color for a husky and, like all of our protagonists, has very little "human" hair and it's still fur, though it is more abundant on his scalp.   His ability to manipulate the shadows had a hand in pushing him into alleyways, trying to protect anthros from the same fate his brother suffered. His brother was assassinated by a Pinnacle agent, and he's been sabotaging the Pinnacle settlements ever since. He's only eleven, and he can see clear as day that this city has essentially been divided in two.His nocturnal powers are, as could be assumed, stronger at night or in dark areas. He can manipulate the shadows around him into physical objects so long as the object it belongs to isn't moved. In dark areas or at night, he can bend more shadows to his will without risk of losing the weapon until day time. He can also blend fairly well into the shadows. He and Frizo will soon discover that their powers are linked more closely than they ever will be as family. Here are his journals.   Year 40XX, Month 6, Week 2, Day 1Today I found a dodgy settlement. There were several profile artists sketching up various anthros, and I saw myself among them. One other I recognized as another abnormally colored anthro. I always had a strange feeling toward him. I've always felt as though we had a quest to complete, and that we would meet soon.I set fire to some of the tents with the torches used for light and ran before they began searching for foul play.   Year 40XX, Month 6, Week 2, Day 2I saw the panther again. He was distressed, I could tell. He almost got caught by the authorities trying to reach some High Citizen. I shadowed him for a good hour, hoping to have my chance to protect him.I wonder what he's so obsessed with.   Year 40XX, Month 6, Week 2, Day 3The panther tried to chase the man, but he disappeared into the Under City. It seems that the panther didn't see this, and went inside. I eavesdropped on a conversation he was having with someone my age.The younger one was scared, and I felt a need to watch him. The older one could obviously look after himself.   40XX, Month 6, Week 2, Day

4I woke up late somehow. Rushed to panther's house to see the door open. I found the younger one in a pool of his own blood. He had been stabbed three times in the stomach, and he was going to die.I pray over his body, hoping he could have a second chance at life and that I could meet him. I'm sure he would've been a great friend. I left the house in a much more depressed state than before. I failed to save someone I decided to protect, and there was nothing that could be done. The panther found the body late at night. I listened to his cries of anguish for a good two hours before the sound of scribbling replaced it. A eulogy? Maybe a journal like mine...   Year 40XX, Month 6, Week 2, Day 5I watched the panther bury his brother. I had trouble keeping my tears from giving myself away as he laid his brother to rest with a teddy bear in his arms. I went on my own way until I saw the panther's house being ransacked. He didn't come home.   Year 40-X, M--nth -, W--- -, Day 6Apologies for the smears. My t--rs a-- ruin-ng the ----nal. He killed so MANY. I c--ldn't watch... I --- ca--- in the all--way. Woke up here. I need to wrap this ---(The ink is smeared in several places by obvious water damage. The page is slightly crumpled, and the handwriting is sloppier than the other entries.)   "He's so emotionally broken." Another said to the one.   "I don't care. He goes to the arena." Said the one...
