Ch2 Memory
"Ahh, damn... My muzzle." Koyu sighed, picking himself and rubbing his paw against it. Gathering his bearings, he padded out of the bedroom, stopping just past the door frame, as he saw the seemingly unconscious lupine on the couch. "Hmm... I was kinda hoping that was part of the dream too... What am I supposed to do with him?" Koyu thought to himself before walking to the small closet and grabbing a set of clothes he thought would fit the wolf and a towel. He walked into the living area and tossed the towel over the wolf, hoping to save him from a little embarrasment, and placed some jeans, a belt, and a shirt on the nightstand next to the couch, before padding to the small kitchen area."And what was with that dream last night... Its been so long since I've had a dream that... Intense." He took out some shredded cheese, ham, and eggs to make his famous "Just throw everything together and cook it" breakfast, doubling the usual amount of ingredients, hoping to make the wolf's awakening as hospitible as possible. As Koyu had started cooking, the wolf came to, and sat up. He quickly looked around, saw the clothing next to him, grabbed it, and fled to the nearest room. It happened so fast, all Koyu could see was a flash of darkness, before the bathroom door slammed shut. Koyu took the food off the burner, and walked over the the door, tapping on it before saying as reassuringly as he could manage, "You were floating in the ocean, and I pulled you out. Don't worry, just get dressed and I'll have some food for ya, you must be hungry after all that.""Water... I.. I don't... Wait... I think I remember last night. It's all.. fuzzy... I don't... Can I trust this guy? He did give me something to wear... And I really could use something to eat.. I don't know..." The wolf thought, pulling the loose-fitting shirt over himself. A few minutes passed as he sat next to the shower, trying to remember everything that happened."It's Ready!" Koyu called, setting out a plate of food and a bottle of water on the counter for the wolf, as he took his and set it next to the smaller couch which wasn't covered in water, before grabbing some extra towels and tossing them over the damp couch to dry it off. He'd have plenty of time to properly take care of that before the rent time was up, he figured. He went back to his chair and flipped on the TV, flipping it to a random channel and setting the volume to low. A few minuted passed, and the wolf emerged from the bathroom in the slightly loose-fitting clothing before quickly grabbing the plate and bottle, sitting on the towel-covered couch, and piling food into his muzzle. Both of them sat there in silence, Koyu taking his time eating, while the wolf ate so fast, he'd finished the plate in record time, and just after, downed the entire bottle of water in one go. Koyu
decided to speak up after a few minutes of silence, other than the TV. "The names Koyu. As I said earlier, you looked like you were in trouble, so I helped you out. What happened to you?" He said. The wolf took a while to speak, but finally got the courage to do so."I... I don't know. Can't remember.. Yet. Its coming back slowly. I remember last night, someone getting me out of the salty water. Thanks for that, I guess. And the food too, I needed that. And the-" He managed as he was cut off."It's no problem, really. I mean, you kinda interrupted my mindless beach-walking, but if there's one thing I'm good at, its helping people." Koyu said. "You can stay here for awhile, and get some more rest if you need to. I think I can badger the people that own this place into letting me stay a few more days, maybe more If I tell them what happened-""No! Nonono, you can't-" The wolf yelled, a look of fear in his eyes. "I- You just can't tell anyone that I'm here!"Koyu looked a bit puzzled at this, questioning who it was he'd rescued. "Why not?" He asked."I... I don't know. I think I'm in trouble, but I can't- Argh!" The wolf gasped in pain, from what seemed like a headache, as he shoved his head into his paws."Alright, alright, don't worry. I won't tell anyone about you, but you owe me. Just take it easy, and chill out here for as long as you need, okay?" Koyu suggested. "Ugh..." The wolf sighed. "Thank.. You. I-" He tried to say before he passed out on the couch."Well... So much for that." Koyu sighed, getting up from the chair and taking the plates and bottles to the trash. He padded to his room, pushed the door closed, grabbed his swimming trunks, and changed into them thinking that, since he was already covered in dried saltwater, he might as well go out for some swimming and R&R.
