Vol2 Ch1 Reunion
Jade ran as fast as he possibly could. He wasn't sure what he'd find when he got home. Would his mother even remember? Did she even know he was gone? The fox quickly dismissed these thoughts. "Have to keep going. Have to see her again!" he thought, dashing left down a street. It'd been a long time since he'd been this far downtown, but he vaguely remembered his way home. He rather quickly reached familiar roads, and soon enough his house was within sight. He paused for a moment, catching his breath. "I wonder what's happened to her since I left." He thought, slowly walking towards the home. He reached the door, and slowly turned the handle. Luckily and strangely, it was unlocked. He figured she just forgot, which only helped him. The second he opened the door, he saw her. She looked... Clean. No longer did she look depressed or doped up, and they both smiled and broke into tears. She dropped the broom that was in her paws, and they ran towards each other, as they hugged each other close."Mom..." Jade spoke, crying as he spoke."Jade... I knew you'd come back. I knew I'd see you again! I'm so sorry for what I put you through, I'm so sorry." his mother said to him, both of them refusing to let go of each other."Mom, its okay. You couldn't help it, I know, what happened to dad was horrible. It hurt me too." Jade spoke, quickly being cut off by his mother."I.. I didn't... Jade, you'd better come into the living room. I'll get you something to drink, okay?" she said, letting go of Jade, still teary eyed, and headed to the kitchen. Jade took her advice. It'd be nice to talk to his mother again, he thought. She had obviously cleaned herself up, and Jade was glad for the first time in a long time."Here, honey." Jade's mother said, handing him a cup of hot chocolate, which was his favorite drink, before sitting herself down, opposite of him. "Jade, really, I'm so sorry.""It's okay, mom. I know." He responded, just happy to see his mother again after all he'd been through."No, Jade. You don't understand. I.." She tried to say, tearing up again at the words. "I.. Those men.." Jade's eyes widened as she spoke."Wait... You knew about them!?" Jade yelled, unable to control himself."I.. I- Jade, I'm so sorry." She said, almost unable to continue."Mom, what did you do? Did you know who they were?""I- I'd been drugged up. I didn't know what I was doing, I-""Mom, What did you do!?""I sold you to them. They came, and offered a lot of money. they said you'd be well taken care of, and I couldn't raise you, I was ruining your life! But look, you're home now! and you're okay!" Jade broke out in a
fit of anger and sadness."They almost killed me! They threw me in a cage and starved me! Mom how could you!?""Honey, I-""Don't call me that! Don't call me your son! How could you put me through that! How could you!?""Jade, I thought I was doing the right thing! I didn't know-""Damn right you didn't know! How could you know!? You were so stuck up on drugs and liquor, you couldn't do anything! How could you sell me... To them, to anyone!?" Jade said, standing up and continually yelling at his mother. "When I came here and saw you, I knew you'd changed, but even as you were, I never even considered you'd stoop that low for cash!""Jade, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." His mother tried to say through her own tears.Just as Jade was about to start up again, the front door was busted open. Before either of them could react, Jade and his mother were tazed, and fell to the ground. "Mom, how could you?" Jade tried to speak, his muscles still locked up."No! Jade, I didn't do this, I- Ugh.." She tried to respond, before being hit and passing out. Jade's hands and feet were being bound, as he was shouting obscenities at the men who were now flooding the room. Before he could say anything else, he was hit on the back of the head by some blunt object, causing him to pass out as well.
