Vol2 Ch3 Corruption
Jade awoke several hours later. He made an attempt to rub his head, only to find he'd been handcuffed to a chair, in some type of interrogation room. He waited here for a few minutes, unable to speak, for his muzzle was kept shut by some type of elastic material. All of the walls were opaque, but he was pretty sure one was one-way glass. The room felt oddly and horribly familiar, even though he'd never been here before. After a short while, the door opposite him opened, in walking three men. The middlemost seemed to be the leader, Jade's leftmost a scientist, and the rightmost a guard holding a rather large rifle. The leader, a large doberman, sat in the only other chair at the small table, as a servant of some kind entered the room, and poured him some form of alcoholic drink before exiting. A long silence passed, before the boss guy spoke up."Well, well. So you're the one who gave us all that trouble. Killed one of my top scientists, you know. Unfortunately for you, we have an excess of them." The doberman said, speaking almost nonchalantly. "From the reports, I was supposed to be meeting with a black wolf, but I suppose that makes you less dangerous to our organization, now doesn't it." He continued, motioning to the guard beside him. "Remove his muzzle guard, let him speak."Jade wasn't sure what to think. How much did they actually know about him, but more importantly, "How did you find me?" He asked. The doberman looked at him and smiled with a bit of an evil twist."Oh, come now. Did you really think we wouldn't have your house bugged? It's common practice, really." He replied. Up to this point, Jade honestly believed his mother had betrayed him again, and he felt sorry for doubting her, but he doubted he'd get the chance to tell her that."Don't expect me to tell you anything. I've been through enough pain. There's nothing you can do to me that would hurt me any more than I've already been." Jade said, coming to the realization he'd be killed here for his escape, even if they got what they wanted."Hmph. If only I had more soldiers that thought the same way. I almost admire your courage... Almost." The doberman stated, before continuing with the same evil twist in his words. "I don't expect you to talk, and the last thing we'd want to do is kill you. You see, so far you're the only one we know of the experiment has worked on. Well, you and whoever it was that stole it from you."So they don't know yet..." Jade thought, hoping they never would find out."You see, Jade, the process worked on you once, which means theoretically, it will work again. Only this time, I'll be honest, it's going to hurt a lot more." Jade barely had time to open his mouth, before it was forcefully closed and re-wrapped with the bonds, keeping him from
talking. A second guard entered the room, each of them grabbing one of Jade's arms and lifting him, dragging him out of the door. As he reached the door frame, he saw a giant laboratory room, similar to the one he first was thrown in, only much, much larger. He just barely heard the doberman ordering the guards behind him to "Strip and prepare him for the chaos paradigm chamber."Jade tried his best to kick and fight back, to get away, but one of the guards quickly shoved a needle into his arm, pressing some liquid into him, as he passed out.He awoke a few minutes later, completely nude and hanging on one wall of the lab he saw earlier, supported by his paws and feet, which were locked in large metal clasps, about 4 feet off the ground. Just like the first time he'd gone through the experience, he felt as if he were in some sort of hellish nightmare, as a dark portal, five times as large as the first, opened in front of him. This time however, it wasn't just a single small thread of black goo that traveled towards him, but it was as if the entire portal bulged out at the fox, and fell to the ground as the portal was closed. The black mass of darkness slowly crawled towards Jade, who was now completely terrified of what might happen to him. Anger quickly clouded his judgment, but the fox pushed those thoughts out of his head. He'd fought this before, he could do it again, or so he thought.Behind the giant glass wall, the doberman was speaking to one of the many scientists surrounding him."Sir, he's encountered the effects before. The mass might not be able to fully merge with his mind, and if this turns into a repeat of last time..." A somewhat short raccoon mentioned, dismissed by the doberman."last time was a test run, don't worry. We simply had to find a suitable candidate for our new weapon, and now we have. The chaos paradigm in this quantity will stop at nothing to attach to any living being, even if it destroys the host, and if that happens, well, we send it back where it came from, simple as that." he said, eyes trained on the black mass, which was now stretching and contorting itself up the wall towards the fox.Jade was struggling, but couldn't manage to break free from his restraints. As soon as the darkness reached Jades leg, the fox fought back through his own thoughts as hard as he could, just as the goo was almost thrown off him, about a foot back down the wall. Jade thought he'd won for a brief moment, thinking he'd been able to force the darkness to not overcome him, but just as he thought this, the black goo reared up, formed a sharp point, and stabbed strait through his lower leg. Instead of Jade bleeding, the goo had begun coursing through the fox's own blood vessels, corrupting his body from within. Jade began
screaming in pain and terror, as the goo traveled through his body, against his will. The goo reached his heart, and almost immediately, Jade's heart stopped beating, and the fox went completely limp.A few moments passed, complete silence throughout the entire laboratory, before Jade's eyes opened again, only when they did, they were completely pitch black.
