Cross Pollination Part 1
This is a story that came to me randomly XD
Prelude:
The earth slowly dying. All known resources have been lost, and destroyed. Similar to the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics we were an economy that was based on the concept of endless growth. And because of our deep desire to grow infinitely we became an economy that is unsustainable to the life within it. Our only chance to survive a potential end for this dying earth is to do something extraordinary. This solution is known as Project ITEL(Interstellar Travel for the Extension of the Living)
The basic concept of this project is to spread our codes to the stars. This is similar to another concept, known as Cross Pollination.
This project is quite possibly the only way that we could survive this could keep our legacies going for many generations, and if this Project is cancelled or destroyed at any point in time, it will be the end of us all...The earth will die and it's inhabitants. Even though this is occurring, there is still life...There are still happy people.
Chapter One: Discovery
The birds were chirping, singing their beautiful songs...Their serenatas. I look up at the ceiling from my bed. "And here is a another day for wonderful work" I say quietly to myself as an audible knocking sound came from my bedroom door, I look over and I see her "Dad?"
Ah. My daughter, my little sunshine "What's up pal?" I say to her as she walks into my room and shuts the door behind her, smiling as she usually does...My little girl is that type of person that you would love to be around, she might be going through a really difficult time , but she always keeps her chin up....Oh, She just woke up, by her obvious "Sleepy, yet happy" expression "Nothing much dad, just wanted to see how your morning is starting out" I chuckle a bit, she's such a sweet girl, I'm glad I have a girl like her as my child. I smile at her as I get up from my bed "My morning is going absolutely wonderful, since my beautiful daughter is oh so curious about me"
She laughs a little bit.
I decide to be a bit random, even though that's how I am most of the time, and I poke her cheek. I make an audible "Pfft" sound, just to make it a bit more humorous cause who doesn't like humor? I know my little girl loves it. "You're such a dork dad!" she says playfully as she suddenly tackles me onto the bed. Back to lying down eh?
I laugh as we both lie there "I think we should start working pal" I say to her as she smiles at me and lifts herself off of me "Bet I'll get my part done before you finish yours!" I smirk, such a competitive girl, just how I like it....Oh...My little girl...Evylin
I let her go back to her room so that she can get dressed for the day ahead, I do the same as well.
We both meet up in the kitchen, she is dressed in her usual work overalls, and I'm simply wearing some jeans and a black t-shirt ...I walk over to the cabinet in our small kitchen and I look inside "What do you want today Eve?" I asked her as I was rummaging through the somewhat crowded cabinets, I also hummed a little tune as I waited for her response. She does a small humming sound as she comes to here decision "Cereal?" She says in a wondering voice.
I look at her with a smile, and I throw her a bowl and spoon "Why of course m'lady" I say to her in a terrible British accent. I bet she thinks I'm the silliest person ever, Yeah I could see that easily.
Evylin smiles bright at me "Thanks dad" I feel that warm feeling in my heart that I get from her smile, its nice. I don't mind it at all.
I somewhat run over to the next pantry, and I open it. I look around and see what our cereal choices were. Frosted flakes, Cheerios, and Trix ... Hmmm... Maybe Cheerios for today.
I grab the small box of cereal and I look over to my daughter. She's sitting at the table waiting for the wonderful food heh.
I grab a medium sized bowl and a spoon.
Evylin smiles at me as she taps my nose "Boop!" she says when the tapped me. I chuckle a bit.
"Having fun there pal?" I say say to my lovely daughter in a bit of a cheerful tone "I have a feeling you are!"
She smiles and giggles again as I hand her that cereal.
We both make our bowls of cereal and well, eat the cereal! We both do silly faces at each other just for fun. Just to make the other do a spit take. "Ready for work girl?" I say to her as I stand up to grab my tools from the hallway.
Evylin smirks at me and gets up quickly "Hell Yeah!" she says enthusiastically
Yep, she wins daughter of the year hehe!
We both run outside, it's a beautiful day. Even though the world is going to end soon, but that doesn't matter...As long a I have my little girl everything is okay.
We run to the field to gather what we can before a sandstorm hits. Where we live we have sandstorms, but there sort of once a month, so it's not that bad. I gather some simple veggies, and Evylin gathers some fruit. We both stay outside for a couple hours, looks like it is a good day. I band down to pick up a carrot when I see the wind get a bit stronger. Aw...poor carrot.
"Head inside!" I yell to her as I grab my basket, and tools. She runs inside and quickly come in after. When I entered she shut the door behind me.
We both laughed as I threw a carrot at her "Catch!" I say to her. Evylin Cathe's the carrot but she accidentally drops it on the floor "So close!" She makes a cute little frowny face "T least you somewhat caught it" I say to cheer her up a bit. "Let's put up the stuff"
We both grab our baskets and we put them in our fridge and we place our tools in the hallway beside our bedroom doors.
Evylin playfully tackles me and we both fall to the ground. "You and tackling!" I say in a cheerful tone "It's just so much fun Dad!" She says as she boops me again.
This girl is probably the most playful one ever!
My playful daughter...Evylin
The sandstorm hits our location and we just watch it go by.
I don't know why but we enjoy watching the sand go in the wind. Flying around.
I also wonder if maybe there's a way for the world to restart. So that I could spend my whole life with my daughter. I say this because I'll never know when the world ends, but I'm not gonna panic over it. I'm gonna be optimistic about it.
I just hope that someone out there finds away to help us all...
I think we deserve to live a bit longer...Just a bit.
I look to my daughter again and smile to her. "So, what do you want to do while we wait for the storm to end?" I ask her in a quiet voice. She looks over to me after looking out the window into the storm, and she smirks slightly "Lets play some black jack!' She says excitedly.
I run over to my room and I grab my old deck of cards " You're on pal!" i say sarcastically
Oh my little girl is competitive.
