The transport ship docked at the docks of the Noble District of Corneria City. Three figures: Ryoohki, Dahvir, and Jade stepped out, squinting their eyes at the sunlight. It burned from having been in the dark windowless ship for so long.

"So, where's this shipyard at?" Jade asked, scanning the streets of the city. Nothing that was obviously the shipyards was visible to her.

Dahvir looked around and breathed in the air. Engine grease and reactor fumes. The smell of a failing engine. "That way." he said, pointing down a busy street. "I'd recognize the smell of a stalled engine anywhere."

Dahvir started down the road, following the scent of the shipyard that he loved so much. He knew exactly how to repair that engine. Hell, he might just do that when they arrive.

Ryoohki and Jade followed suit, remaining close so they wouldn't get separated and lost.

They stopped at a large shipyard that had signs reading "Corneria's Best!" on them. "This is where it's coming from." he stated. "Should we try here first?"

Ryoohki made a face. "Anything that claims to be the "best" is just bad juju."

"Worth a look at least." he said, pushing the doors open. The inside of the shop was small, but very well kept. A lupo smoking a cigarette walked out from the back when the bell on the door rang. "Welcome to Corneria's Best. Name's Rod. You here to buy a ship?" he asked. His voice was grizzly and rough, similar to Dahvir's. "Sort of. I can smell the fusion reactor fumes from down the street. You remembered to rotate the coils 6 times right?" Dahvir said, looking back towards the garage. "Of course. I'm no rook." he said, irritably. "Then you've overcoiled them." Dahvir said, crossing his arms. He held his fingers up, counting them down from 3, 2, then 1.

BOOM

A loud explosion came from the back room as the smoke alarms went off. The lupo glared at Dahvir, crushing the smoke in his teeth as his ears flattened. "You might want to take care of that." Dahvir said, smirking. Rod vanished into the back and a fire extinguisher was heard going off seconds later. "I think we'd better go." Dahvir said, walking out.

"I told you so," he said with a smirk as Jade held her hand over her mouth, trying her best not to crack up.

Dahvir took a small map on his way out, listing the rest of the shipyards in the area and how this one was "better" than all the others. "This might help." he said, handing it to Rhyooki.

"Hmmm," he said, taking it and studying it over. "How about Pool Inspuh's Dream Ships?" he said, pointing to the spot.

Dahvir held the door open for the two and walked in after them. A sharply dressed avian walked up to Jade. His nametag read Carlos. "Good afternoon señorita." He said, his accent thick. "Welcome to Pool Inspuh's. The finest shipyard in all of Corneriá."

He looked to Rhyooki, and then to Dahvir. His feathers flattened a bit out of slight intimidation. "Ahem, good afternoon señors. How can I be helping you today?" He said, straightening up.

Dahvir just glared at Carlos, annoyed that they were simply bypassed. Carlos nodded quickly, call a spring his hands together. "Of course, of course. Right this way." He said. He led them to a counter which brought up a hologram between them. "So, here at Pool Inspuh's, we let you build your ship from the bolts up. Now, shall we begin?"

"Actually no." he said. "You choose your parts, and we find a base ship that we have that matches it as closely as possible. Then we put in the other features that you've requested. It all takes about 2 weeks in full." Dahvir looked over at Rhyooki. "That's impressive. Your base models are brand-new right? Never been used?" Carlos nodded once. "Fresh off the assembly line." he stated. "I'd just have you select a base model and we can get started."

He typed in a few keys and various ships came up in the hologram's projector.

"Aha, the Interceptor class. Excellent choice." Carlos said, pulling up the schematics. "Now, which of you is the mechanic?" Dahvir cleared his throat. "That would be me." Carlos brought up the engine specs. "Then you'll want to see these." Dahvir looked over the engine, and the parts that went into it. "Hmm...not quite as powerful as the Mist was, but workable." Dahvir turned to Rhyooki and Jade. "Looks good to me. Plus you know me, I'll upgrade a bunch of stuff anyway."

Carlos confirmed the selection and brought up a humongous list of specialized parts, all categorized. "All right then, the more tedious part. Selecting your personalized features." Dahvir immediately started engine parts, and within a few minutes, he was done. "Alright, that's it for the engine."

Dahvir chuckled and kept going over the list. Energy cannons, Fusion Reactor, Backup Core, Mass Cooler, Reinforced Hull. This ship would not fail them in a fight. After just 10 minutes, Dahvir had finished all he could. "Alright, now all that's left is just what you'd like in your quarters, and anything left that you might like to add."

"Seems fair to me." he said. He selected the quarter's sizes to be equal sized to the captain's. "That looks to be it." Carlos brought control back to his panel. "Alright, so now that we've selected everything, we simply require the payment. Half of it now, and the second half when it is complete. If the ship is not to your liking upon completion, we will refund your first half entirely." he said. "Your total comes out to 850,000c."

Carlos seemed to be taken a bit aback. "Y-you're paying entirely in straight credits?" he said. "That's not a problem is it?" Dahvir asked. "N-no of course not. It's just not many have the funds to do that."

Ryoohki and the quite Jade climbed in as well and the transport was soon off, to the middle area of Corneria.

This was where Ryoohki's home was. He wondered to himself what became of his house since the nasty beatdown he received all those months ago.

After about a half-hour of flight, they had landed in the town square. Dahvir stepped out and looked around, flashbacks hitting him. This was nearly the same spot he arrived at when he was released.

"I'm not fully sure to tell the truth. We've commissioned a new ship to be built, so we need a crew of at least 5, and we've got 3. We're just out scouting places for some ideal candidates. If you see anyone who might fit, send them over to us." He said, tapping the countertop and heading for the table.

Dahvir collapsed into a chair at the table, a bit of his drink spilling out. "Damn." he said, wiping it up with a napkin and sipping off the top. "I've told the bartender to keep an ear out for us for crew possibilities."

"Would you........." she blushed hard and pulled a small box out of her pocket and opened it in front of him. Inside was a small silver ring with the "gemstone" being a hollow sapphire with a peculiar orange fire swirling and burning intensely within. Ryoohki instantly knew what was coming next and could feel his stomach drop out beneath him.

(*Cracks knuckles* Alright, here's the attempt at breathing this RP back to life)

Over the course of the next few weeks, the trio had traveled the surface of Corneria, searching for members to join their crew. Seeing as they only needed two or three, it shouldn't have been too difficult.

That was a bit of a wrong assumption.

Following the attack on the Triumph, not many seemed to want to travel into the reaches beyond and preferred to keep two feet planted firmly on the ground. It made finding potential crew members very difficult. They did_however find the fanboys and fangirls who only knew them as the "Heroes of the _Triumph" and only wanted to be around them because they were famous, not because they wanted to be part of the crew. They were dismissed quickly, and it usually involved either losing them in a crowd, or Dahvir losing his temper and one of his pistols coming out to play. What was wrong with people these days?

There was a ray of sunshine however that managed to peek through the clouds of doubt. They came across a young black and brown vixen named Mara in a bar in the lower district of Corneria. What caught Dahvir's eye was the large repeating rifle slung across her back, as well as the 3 foot titanium blade that shone beneath it. She looked absolutely dangerous, and that's what made him walk over to talk to her. He gave her the sales pitch, to which she gave him a blunt "Fuck off." Dahvir being who he was though, didn't give up at all. It took nearly a week of pestering and convincing, but Mara finally agreed to join the team. Their group had managed to come to four, and now they needed at least one more to complete the crew. However, the day had come to expect that fateful call...

(My hands hurt now xD)

Dahvir grunted and rolled over, his hand hitting the comm button on his communicator. "zzz..huh? Wha? Who's there?" he mumbled. "Um...Señor Dahvir?" a thick hispanic accent came through. "Yeah?" "This is Carlos from Pool Inspuh's. Tu nave se ha completado. If you would come to Pool Inspuh's at your earliest convenience, we can finalize the documentes for your ship." Dahvir sat up, rubbing his eyes. "Alright, sounds good. We'll get there later today. I'll be sure to let my partner know." He switched off the comm, sighing as he leaned back against the wall, blinking a few times. They'd been crashing in a hotel room on the _Triumph_while they'd done their recruiting and while their ship was being built. Now that it was done, it was time to head back down to the surface and pick up their new ship. Dahvir got up and pulled his clothes on, a pair of black jeans, a white tank, and his loose-fit brown belt that held his pistols snugly in their holsters. He walked across the hall, rapping on the door to Rhyooki and Jade's room. "Yo Rhyooki, wake up. I got some news for ya." he called in to him.

It took nearly four minutes for the door to open.

What greeted Dahvir on the other side was a fox who looked like he had been hit by a truck. His matted fur was everywhere and unkempt, tamed only by the fabric of his pajamas. His tails and ears hung low as he stared at Dahvir with half-opened eyes, a slight sway was present in his standing posture.

He mumbled something unintelligible and waited for a response. This was the last time he ever competed against a tiger in a drinking contest. Last night he had drunk enough alcohol to nearly kill him and it was only the remedies he had in his satchel that saved him a trip to the hospital. Still, it didn't help with the hangover.

You really got it." Dahvir raised the pitch of his voice, imitating Rhyooki. He shook his head, sighing. "Well, get dressed and wake up your woman. I just got a call from Carlos from Pool Inspuh's. The ship is ready. He said just to come by sometime today to finalize paperwork and whatnot." He shifted his weight and turned down towards the hall. "I'll grab Mara and we can all head down there whenever you're ready Captain."

Dahvir walked down the hall to the door two away from them and knocked, which opened on the first knock and was met with a pistol's muzzle in his face. He didn't even flinch. "Good morning to you too." he said, raising an eyebrow. Mara holstered her pistol, growling as she flattened her ears and walked into the room. "Ship's finally ready. Get your things together. We're heading planetside in thirty." he relayed to her. Mara's tail flicked as she kept her back to him, packing the few things she had with her. Dahvir shook his head, sighing as he walked out and pulled the door shut behind him. She had spunk, which could prove to be a downfall later. Hopefully she wasn't like this on the ship, Dahvir busted his ass to get her on the team. He walked back to his room, shoving his clothes in his bag and locking his weapons in place. After about 25 minutes, he pulled his door shut behind him, throwing the duffel bag on the floor of the hallway. Mara walked down to join him, only a backpack on her shoulder. "It still amazes me how you carry all of your things in that tiny bag." he said, chuckling. "I don't need possessions. They'd only slow me down." she said, shrugging as she set the bag against the wall. "Our captain in there?" she asked, pointing at Rhyooki's door. "Yeah, we're just waiting on him. We're just a bit early out." he said, nodding. "Finally, I get to meet the "famed Captain Rhyooki of the Mighty Stormblades." she said sarcastically. Dahvir scowled. "Don't undermine him. He's a great leader and an even greater person. He's not perfect, but he's our captain and he deserves respect. Got it?" he said, his voice tensing slightly. Mara held up her hands. "Hey, relax birdbrain. I meant no disrespect. I just expected to meet him when he was sober. When he stumbled up here in a drunken stupor with his little vixen hanging on him I didn't think it best to introduce myself, so I waited until today. You could say I'm even a bit honored to meet him. He's got quite the history. You all do." Dahvir raised his eyebrows. "You're a fan." he said, smirking. Mara flattened her ears, her face got red, and her tail poofed out a bit. "S-shut up!" she said, looking away.

The sound of the door opening was heard and Ryoohki stepped out into the hall. He was dressed in his formal captain's uniform, insignia, awards and all, through his fur was still unkempt in some areas. His bag of clothes was slung over one shoulder and he still had a slightly sleepy look on his face.

Followed behind him was a stoic-looking Jade, dressed in simpler clothes. Her expression was blank and she kept silent.

The boarded, heading for the planet.

After about 30 minutes of flight, the transport landed in the upper district, near Pool Inspuhs. They disembarked, the bus pulling away into the sky. Dahvir and Mara both started towards the building, following Rhyooki and Jade. Carlos met them as the entered the door. "Welcome, Stormblades, to Pool Inspuh's. I trust you are here to see your ship?" he asked, bowing.

The mighty ship sat in the docking bay, hovering nearly 10 feet off the ground. The sounds of the machines and people working and barking orders could be heard throughout the warehouse. Dahvir smiled, walking forward slightly, to get a better look. "Unfortunately, there was a small change on the look of the bow of the ship. As it would seem, we hadn't updated our catalog for the newer models. As an apology, we've installed the VX2-179 "Interceptor" model from our LX package catalog." Carlos said to the crew, his hands working against each other. "I trust it is to your liking?" he asked. Mara nodded, her mouth hanging open as she stared. She'd served on small cruisers before, but nothing like this. Dahvir chuckled, crossing his arms. "Carlos, ya done good."

And this last one is for the naming of your ship, as well as the registration form." He explained the forms in their order, pointing at each one. He placed the pen in front of Rhyooki, folding his hands.

Dahvir walked out of the small office, back into the warehouse to where Mara and Jade were standing. "Mara, I believe it's time that you were introduced to-" "Captain Rhyooki of the Stormblades." Mara cut off Dahvir, dropping her bag and standing straight, boots together and right hand at a salute just above her brow. "Famous star captain of the team Stormblades, believed to be lost after the senior crew members were imprisioned and the team disbanded for 5 years." She relayed the past events of the last few months in order, leaving out the destruction of the Red Dawn, although she'd used a piece of information a bit...harsher on them all mentally without realizing it. "Lt. Commander Mara Ryon of the 107th of the Cornerian Military. Recently honorably discharged due to a critical wound and unable to continue active duty." She sighed, letting the salute fall and her stance falter. "At least, that's the report you'll find in the databases..." Her attitude had shifted from confident and near arrogance from earlier to a more...crestfallen and almost depressed state. "During a mission near Taros V, we were blindsided by an enemy ship. They landed a critical blow on our starboard side, right near the torpedo bay and weapons storage." She let her jacket fall, showing that she was wearing only a tank top underneath, and tapped on her right wrist, then the joint near her elbow, and her shoulder and upper right chest. All of them gave a metal resonance. "My entire right flank, including my entire right leg, is now cybernetic and covered in a skin-like polymer substitute. I hope that won't be a problem for you, sir." Mara suddenly realized that she'd been rambling and closed her muzzle. "My apologies sir, I'm sure that was more info than you wanted..."

"I told you not to do that," he muttered as he set his bag to the ground. "I'm going to ask you to prove it, then. The last member we had disobeyed my orders and nearly got us killed. Twice."

He opened the bag and pulled out a long plastic gun case. He snapped it open, revealing a collection of gun parts, particularly for a rifle of some sort.

He pulled out each of the pieces and assembled them one by one: the upper and lower receivers, the barrel, the stock, the scope, and finally the magazine. The finished product was his trusty and faithful sniper rifle.

"This is an LSR-1200 'Hunter' sniper rifle. Best in its class. It is loaded with ten rounds and each round has more penetrating power than a fifty caliber bullet," he said, attaching the sling and racking the bolt, putting a round in the chamber What I want you to do is take it," he held it out to her, "and shoot me with it. That's an order."

Mara took the rifle, spun it once, and brought it up to take aim. She took a step back and fired, the recoil pulsing through her cybernetic arm, down her body and into the ground. The shot blasted out of the barrel, hitting Rhyooki square in his right shoulder, three inches above his lung. She brought the gun barrel down, turning the safety on. "Like that?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

The shot would have hit Ryoohki hadn't there been a small hissing noise and a small green-colored forcefield surrounded him, having effectively deflected the bullet. He smiled. "No question, just doing. That's just what I like to see."

He held out a hand. "Welcome to the Stormblades," he said.

Mara smiled, taking his hand with her left and shaking it. "Glad to be aboard." she said. "Just ah....don't shoot me anytime soon." Dahvir said. "I don't put as much faith in those forcefields as our insane captain does." Dahvir said, chuckling.

A loud buzz was heard and the docking clamps were released. "Alright señors y señoritas, your ship has been finished. Would you like it delivered to the starbase? or would you rather fly it there yourselves?" Carlos asked, already knowing the answer. Everyone wanted to fly it themselves as soon as it was finished.

He tossed a small device to Mara, Dahvir and Jade. "I brought enough for the whole class," he said. "They can take some punishment, but don't rely on them too much.

His head picked up when he heard the announcement. "Well, guys, shall we head inside? Anyone bring the champagne bottle?"

Dahvir caught it, put in his bag and pulled two bottles out. "Got'cha covered." he said, smirking. They walked out of the end of the warehouse and the ship sat, fully painted and anchored to the dock, engines off and the boarding ramp down. "Thank you all for shopping with Pool Inspuh's. We hope that you enjoy your fine spacecraft." Carlos said. And with that, he turned and left them alone with their new ship, heading back into the store and out of the plot. The ship sat powerfully, the large red letters _"Asmodeus"_printed on the hull and the insignia of the Stormblades near the back, just above the engines. It was coated in black and was accented with red stripes in various spots on the ship. A truly remarkable sight to behold, and it was all theirs, none like it.

Dahvir walked in to the central room, a large circular table in the center with a small disc embedded in the center of the table. "Looks like our central meeting room." Dahvir said. "Hmm...Ah, there we are." he said. He walked to a large wall of panels and flipped a switch. A low hum was heard throughout the ship, followed by 4 friendly tones. "Welcome crew of the Asmodeus, I am Garrus, your onboard computer. Present your query when you are ready." a voice through the speakers said. "I had them install this little addition. Garrus is a state-of-the-art voice-activated computer system. He can control the systems just as we can, but he isn't an AI, like Argo was. He'll only take control if we say to and can't be hacked or gain a consciousness to take control himself. Naturally we will still have manual controls, Garrus here will just make things easier." Dahvir explained. "Garrus, which way is it to the hangar?" "The hanger is 150 feet directly to your left, Commander Dahvir." Garrus responded. Dahvir looked practically giddy as he picked up his bag and walked through the door to see his new hangar. "Very impressive..." Mara said quietly, looking around as she boarded behind Rhyooki and Jade.

Mara walked around the central table and found a small computer terminal. "Hmm..." she mused, pressing a button. An image flashed up out of the disc, displaying a map of the ship, as well as the location of the crew. "Oh wow, looks like the system is integrated with our communicators." She spotted an empty room near the stern of the ship. "Alright, I'll take that room." she said, picking up her things and heading for her claimed room. She left the map up for the others to see as she left the central room.

Dahvir walked onto the bridge, hands already spotted with grease as he wiped them on a small red rag. "Alright, I'm all set up. Why don't you go find your room while I work out the navigation. I did sort of design the engines of the ship, so I should know how to get us out of port. Not that I would. That's the Captain's pleasure." he said, chuckling as he put a clean hand on Rhyooki's shoulder.

Dahvir grimaced at the mention of the Dawn. Those engines were like his children, that ship his home for nearly 10 years, and it was his failure to keep her at her best that she had a reactor failure. He considered her destruction his greatest failure. He wouldn't dare let it happen again. He started flipping switches and pressing various buttons, like he'd done it a thousand times, and a message flashed on the screen.

Ship Warmup sequence activated...complete. To activate engines, see Captain's console.

"Well Captain, the Asmodeus is ready when you are." he said, turning around in his chair.

Dahvir sighed. "Perfect. That's exactly what we need. Military inspectors invading our ship." he muttered. He brought the ship into dock, docking clamps securing the ship in place. Once the boarding ramp was secure, a few soldiers and inspectors flooded in through the doors.

They flashed their entry badges at the desk, which allowed them to go up to the command center after nearly 20 minutes of arguing with MP's on why Dahvir needed to disarm his dual pistols. Mara caught the jacket that was tossed at her. She lifted it, seeing the Stormblades patch on the right shoulder and smiling slightly. Her name was on a patch on the front, as well as the amount of stars to indicate her rank. "You put my military rank on here..." he whispered. Her eyes got slightly misty as she looked up at Rhyooki. "Thank you. So much." she said, smiling at him. The Military was Mara's life. When she was discharged, she didn't know what to do with herself, her mental state being pushed to the edge and causing her to nearly kill herself four times. Now, she had somewhere she belonged. She'd just met these people mere days ago, and she felt like she'd known them forever. She looked at Dahvir, then Rhyooki, then Jade. "Wait, do we all have these? Or just..." Dahvir held up a hand. "Yes, we all have them. I wear mine formally, but it's just because I have this to show." He lifted his sleeve, revealing a spot where feathers were missing, in their place a tattoo of the Stormblades insignia. "I like this better." he said, smirking.

Also, helmets let you see the faces of your teammates in little screens, as well as giving distance, targeting, and other information. They really are advanced pieces of equipment.

"Also, there will be different loadout choices. We have a combat rifles, shotguns, a minigun," she said with special mention to Dahvir, "pistols, you name it. Of course, you may bring your own weapons down there, but I don't know how well they'd function."

"I don't care. I'm going in with my rifle," Ryoohki said. "Maybe grabbing a combat rifle too."

"Good choice," she said with a nod.

Surprisingly to Jade, the forge wasn't all that crowded today. What she hoped to get done to the big wrench should be done quickly.

"Hello, there!" the old scotty dog said, his head perking up upon seeing his first customer in hours. "What can I get done for ya?"

"Well, I-" she heaved her duffel bag on the table and unzipped it, "have this big wrench that belongs to a friend of mine and I want to see if you can do some repairs on it. Clean it up a bit too."

The scotty dog stood from his lawn chair and peered in close to the tool, inspecting it. "Hmmmm, well I can assume I'm not wrong in saying this was used as a weapon most of the time?" he asked.

"Yeah, you can pretty much say that."

"Thought as such. Well, I can get most if not all these dings and scratches out, and I can certainly take off all the blood and gore from it. It's gonna be about 600 credits. That is a lot of metal I have to work with."

"Consider it done. When can I expect it done?"

"In a couple hours at best," he said, proud of his profession. "Check back by then and it should be ready."

"Thank you so much," Jade said, almost hugging him out of reflex. "I'll see you then."

So I chased after it, full tilt, screaming at the folks ahead to stop it when it suddenly turned a sharp left and smashed in the wall. The driver was killed instantly and I snatched my rifle back. Upon further inspection of the truck, I noticed it had several freezers in it full of frozen packages of meat. I counted them, and there were seventy three. Those are sitting in the _Asmodeus_as we speak. Later, as I was on my way back from the ship, this damn hobo seated on the sidewalk. 'Hey,' he says to me. 'You wanna donate to the People's Bookstore System?' And I say no to him. He instantly gets up and just starts glaring at me and I shoved him aside. 'Stop staring at me!' I shouted, 'I don't want to donate to the PBS.'"

He slowly shook his head and crossed his arms. "I tell you. Really weird day."

When he got inside, he closed the massive hangar doors, a loud thud confirming that they were shut. "Rhyooki, you are not going to believe what Jade did for me..." he said into the comm.

Mara went down to the main door and told the men to take the shipment around to the hangar. Dahvir, who was waiting, opened the main door. "Put it over there." he said, pointing to an emptier part of the hangar. "You want we should opens it for ya?" one of the guys said. Dahvir grabbed his wrench. "Nah, I got it." he said, the light gleaming off the oversized shiny tool. The two men shrugged and left the hangar, the doors closing behind them. "Ey Rhyooki! We got new toys!" Dahvir shouted. He jammed his wrench under the edge of the large crate, prying open the top and then pushing it off. "Shiny new toys!" he added, chuckling.

Dahvir gave the lid a good whack, sealing it back up. "Got it Cap'n." He said. He grabbed a clipboard off his bench. "The preflight check is nearly done. We need to actually start the systems so I can get a reading on the fusion reactor and take the gyro-rotor measurements to calibrate it. Should only take about 20 minutes, and then we'll be spaceworthy."

He nodded and disappeared back inside the ship, giving the signal to the delivery people to bring the large crates into the cargo hold. He stepped up to the bridge and examined the panels. "Hmmm, which one has the power switches..." he wondered to himself.

Jade, who had followed him inside rolled her eyes and stepped up to the terminal slightly to his left. She tapped a few buttons and the telltale hum of the power systems coming online.

When the engines came online, Dahvir opened up the engine panel to access the fusion reactor. "Temperature nominal..." He mused. He closed the panel and walked around to the other side, crouching down and sliding open a floor panel to reveal a humongous gyro-rotor, spinning slowly on its axis. A small readout showed its coordinates, which Dahvir took down, adjusted slightly, and took down again. "Perfect." He said. "Rhyooki, we're good to go." He slid the panel shut, talking into his comm. "I'll be up to the bridge in a minute."

Mara stepped onto the bridge, taking a seat at the weapons console. "Ready captain." She said, bringing power to the weapons and setting them to standby. Dahvir stepped onto the bridge, handing Rhyooki his clipboard. "Here's my preflight report. Everything looks good. We're good to fly."

Mara took her position at one of the consoles, tapping various buttons. Dahvir monitored the engine readouts, transferring it to his datapad and standing up, glancing down every so often.

"All systems go!" he said excitedly before pushing the throttle forward. The ship rumbled, the docking systems disengaged and it slowly lumbered out of the station and into the vast opening of space.

Dahvir stayed completely stationary, not even swaying when the ship rocked slightly from the takeoff, staring at the readout on his pad. Now that they had taken off, they were giving off readings like crazy, as expected.

He sat at one of the empty terminals, bringing up a screen and starting to work on something. Mara followed after about 2 minutes later, nodding a hello to her captain, then sitting at the terminal she was previously at.

(And with great fanfare, here's the post that took me so goddamn long. I know it's crude but I finally finished the stupid thing. Enjoy.)

After navigating the passageways of the ship for a bit Ryoohki came across the door and control panel of his cabin. He punched in a code on the panel, unlocked the door, and entered, climbing down the ladder that led into his cabin proper. The door hissed closed behind him.

He hefted a sigh, looking around his softly-lit room, pondering what to do. He paced the area, hand under his chin contemplating whether to just listen to music, watch the television, or-

"I need to shower," he said to himself, sniffing under his own arm. Granted it would be rendered moot by the likely physically-exerting mission tomorrow, but he hadn't showered in a while and he wanted to be comfortable for tonight.

He stepped over to his drawer and slid it open, looking to grab a change of clothes to wear after he stepped out of the shower. He grabbed a light shirt and a pair of lounge pants (a pair of sweatpants), but could find no set of underwear. He snorted at the self-negligence of his laundry, deciding to wear nothing under the lounge pants and wake up slightly earlier to get some laundry done.

He stripped out of his clothes and entered his bathroom, closing the door behind him. He lowered the lid of the toilet and placed his change of clothes on top of the lid. He opened the frosted glass shower door and turned the knob under the showerhead. The bathroom was quickly filled with the sound of gushing water. He ran his hand under the stream and winced. The water was icy cold. Frowning, he reached over and turned the knob some more and waited until the water warmed over his hand. Once the water reached a desirable temperature he climbed in and closed the door behind him. He closed his eyes in bliss and tilted his head up with a smile when the warm stream of water ran over his body. He turned in the shower, making sure every part was nicely soaked before attempting to shampoo.

Once satisfied he grabbed his bottle and squeezed a generous amount in his loofah, then vigorously lathering it with his chest and arms area, getting the fur nice and soapy. He moved up to his head, down to his tummy, his legs and the area between them, and finally his back and under his tails.

He paused before scrubbing the final area of his body, looking behind himself and at his two heavy soaked tails. A little camera screen on the panel showed the area outside his door, finding Jade standing there in front of it. He reached over and held a button, turning on the microphone.

"Jade? Can I help you?"

"Ryoohki? Can I come in? I just want to talk to you about a few things."

"Sure thing," he said, pushing a button on the console, unlocking the door. Shortly after, the door hissed open and Jade appeared, climbing down the ladder.

"What's up?"

"Oh, nothing, I just wanted to talk to you about something real quick. It shouldn't take long."

"Okay, shoot," he said, patting a spot on the bed, indicating she could sit down.

"It's just... I don't know about tomorrow's mission," she sighed, sitting on the edge of the bed and facing him.

"What's the matter?"

"I... can't feel but have a bad feeling about it. Like there's something more... sinister than what we can expect to happen tomorrow. I have a foreboding sense of doom, if you know what I mean."

This was a bit unusual for Jade to say, so Ryoohki sat up, his back to the headboard of his bed. "I have no idea what's going to happen," he said. "But I will make sure to tell the rest of the team to be extra careful tomorrow, okay?"

She smiled at him, though her face still showed a bit of worry.

"Come over here," Ryoohki said, his arms spread open for a hug. Her smile grew wider as she walked over to him on her knees and embraced Ryoohki in a hug, her head snuggled into his chest. Ryoohki lightly caressed her hair, causing her to quietly coo at his gentle touch.

"It'll be okay," he said gently. "I promise I won't let anything happen to you."

"Thank you, Ryoohki," she returned, her eyes closing in bliss.

The silence lasted, with Ryoohki gently petting Jade's hair, her tail slowly wagging behind her. Soon, Jade broke the silence. "Ryoohki?"

"Yeah?"

"You ever be with a girl proper?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean did you ever have a girlfriend?"

"No, my only interaction with them was me taking a couple of strippers home for the night from Pool In' Spuhs."

She was quiet for a moment. "Do you... do you want to try... us... again?"

"Huh?"

"Do you want to try to be together again? I know you don't want to settle down until after you retire from adventuring, but can you at least give it a chance?"

He stopped his petting, concentrated in thought. "I, er, suppose," he said finally, resuming his petting. "I'm sorry for backing out earlier. I just didn't want you to get hurt."

She gave a light squeal and squeezed him tighter in their hug. Ryoohki smiled. Soon she let go of the hug and shifted herself over to his side, giving him a side hug. The two leaned their heads on each other, each sighing in content.

Ryoohki thought they were going to sleep like that, but he was suddenly startled when he felt a pressure on his sweatpants at his groin area. He opened his eyes and looked down, watching Jade's hand cradle his sack through his sweatpants.

"Jade?"

Dahvir sat at his station on the bridge, watching the screens for anything that might go wrong with the engines. Call him paranoid, but he didn't need another ship going nuclear on him again. Mara sat at a station opposite him, watching the readouts and pressing buttons occasionally when prompted. She was sitting at the weapons terminal, so she was mostly rerouting power so they didn't accidentally lose power to their guns, should they need it. A power flux in the guns would bring them down for a full thirty seconds, more than enough time to make a big difference in a fight.

Dahvir closed out his screen, standing up and walking around the room, stopping to stare out the window at the empty vastness of space.

"Hey, Dahvir?" Mara asked, turning to face him. A low hum could be heard as the guns powered down, due to a missed reroute.

Dahvir turned to look at her. "Hm? What's up?" he asked.

"Why is it that you stick by Rhyooki so faithfully?" she asked. "I mean, what makes you loyal to him?"

"A question to pass the time I presume?"

"I suppose."

Dahvir sighed. "Rhyooki and I have been together for nearly twenty years, minus the five I spent in the box." he said. "And aside from that one time, he's never let me down. Not once. He always manages to keep his head in almost every situation, he's always got my back, and he's one hell of a captain." He smiled and rested his left hand on the grip of the gun at his side. "And he knows I'll always have his, no matter what happens between us."

Mara smiled, leaning back in her seat. "Sounds like you two have had some wild times." she said, chuckling.

"Believe me girl, I could tell you stories that would make your head spin." he said, walking over and sitting down again.

"Well don't keep me in suspense." she said, leaning forward. "Let's hear a few. We've got 6 hours to kill."

"Alright, I suppose it couldn't hurt." he said. From there, Dahvir went on to retell the tales of their epic adventures over their lives. From the recent defense of the Triumph, clear back to when they had traveled with an old partner named Talia. Time passed quickly, the words "ARE YOU A GEO GENIUS?!" ringing out through the ship when Dahvir shouted it, followed by wild laughter from the both of them. Time passed rather quickly for them as Dahvir told Mara the stories, and before they knew it, their watch was up.

Dahvir spun around to his terminal and looked up at the screen. "An SOS? Way out here?" he said, pinpointing its location. "Got it." He punched in the coordinates, the ship veering off course to make way for the distress signal.

As they neared the source, the ship received a call. When it was answered a darker red-colored, and slightly batteted fox in what appeared to be a small space craft (likely a fighter) appeared on screen. When audio feed came in, there was frantic beeping in the background- the indication of a quickly-running-out life support.

Life support is failing, I'm bringing him into the hangar." he reported. Dahvir opened a comm to the ship. "Attention unknown craft, this is Lieutenant Dahvir of the ship Asmodeus. She moved to where he was sitting, watching the screens. Dahvir booked it down to the hangar, activating the forcefield so nothing would fly out, and opened the main doors. "Mara, activate the tractor beam and bring the ship into the hangar." "Roger." A low hum was heard as the beam was activated, pulling the small ship in and into the hangar.

The page stirred Ryoohki from his sleep. He smiled at the sight of Jade snoozing peacefully on top of him. He groaned and reached over to his console. "Distress dignal? Mmkay, take him in and take him to the lounge. Keep at least one person nearby to keep watch. I'll be up and ready in-" he looked down to their messy bodies, "30 to 45 minutes."

He swayed a bit, a little dizzy from the sudden influx of oxygen. He wore a uniform of red and black. Judging by the look of it he was an officer of a space station, but not of the Triumph. The colors were different.

A large white plus was adorned on his back.

"I'll be alright," he said. "I'll be up in a few minutes once I get oxygen back in me."

"Yeah, and mine's the crosshair, I assume," Ryoohki said. He found a nearby crowbar and cracked off the lid to both his and Dahvir's.

Inside of Ryoohki's was a simple outfit meant to be worn over normal clothing, like an outside suit. A large white crosshair was imprinted on the upper back and each shoulder of the suit. Also inside was a small mask and a large tank with an appropriate back holder and straps.

Dahvir's case contained the same thing, only his contents were different to the fact that his contained a shiny black minigun, complete with a 300-round belt of ammunition.

"You'll see what I mean when we get planetside."

Ryoohki gathered his rifle and Jade, got her equipped and began to head to the hangar. On the way they passed Kineto in the lounge.

"Where are you all off to?" he asked.

"Planetside," Ryoohki responded. "Head up to the bridge, gear up with the stuff from the crate with the big plus on it. Then meet us in the hangar."

"Right. See you there," and he was off.

"Kineto is on his way," Ryoohki said, entering the hangar. "Get in your crafts. We launch at my mark."

Dahvir began the startup sequence, as did Mara, both ready for Rhyooki's cue to launch.

Dahvir flipped a few switches, his engine compressors disengaging, causing them to roar as they sat in the open hangar. He smirked, gripping his control stick. "It's been awhile, hasn't it?" he said. He gunned his engine again, the ship rocking slightly as it roared again.

Soon the atmosphere caught them, each ship each engulfed in a stream of fire as they rocketed toward the land mass. The ships shook violently, but stopped as they slowed their descent and cruised at a fair speed over the land.

The land in question was thick with jungle and looked quite marshy. Soon Ryoohki's console blinked.

"Okay, we're in range of the beacon. Let's find a place to land and search on foot. Equip and engage your SCBA's before opening your canopies," he said.

Ryoohki strapped on his mask and turned on his air tank. He checked for a seal and opened his cockpit. He leaped out and grabbed his sniper rifle. The canopy then closed. He pointed his rifle to the trees, inspected all in a 360 degree radius, then lowered his weapon.

The group made their way over to the building when they spotted their first corpse. It was that of a frog, bloodied and a frozen look of horror on its face.

"Damn, what a way to go," Ryoohki said, shaking his head. "Even if it was a frog."

"Um, why is there a CDF uniform on him?" Jade asked.

Ryoohki looked once more at the corpse in confusion. "Odd. The CDF doesn't enlist frogs."

"See the blue there on its face?" Kineto intervened. "It died of asphyxiation. I see no outer markings, so something must have happened internally. Damn that's sad. Even for a frog."

Foliage rustled behind them, causing both Mara and Dahvir to spin and aim. "Everyone back." Dahvir said darkly. "This frog, it's placement and the uniform..." He looked back at Rhyooki, catching eye contact.

"Quickly! Inside!" Ryoohki shouted, moving quickly despite the tank on his back.

It took a moment, but the group eventually made it inside the building.

Bad mistake.

The place was infested with the bodies of dead frogs. The place was a massacre. Frogs both in uniform and out littered the floor, bullet holes lined the walls.

Dahvir looked at one of the patches closer. "Virtutis pugnamus..." he read aloud. He closed his eyes, thinking about the phrase, then shrugged. "Virtutis clearly has something to do with Virtue, but the second word I don't know." he said. "Anyone else here speak Latin?"

The largest frog (feral-looking) that they ever did see was inside that hole, staring right back at them.

With lightening speed, the toad's tongue shot out and went straight through Jade's mask and down her throat and ripping back out. Gagging and gasping for breath she tumbled to the ground.

Dahvir's eyes widened as he watched the horror before him. His eyes wild, he hammered on the trigger, bullets erupting from the end of his gun as he shouted in fury. Mara dropped to one knee, placing shot after shot against the head of the massive toad with tears in her eyes.

Time seemed to slow down for Ryoohki. The shouts, the bullets firing, the toad taking each round and seemingly asking for more. The toad turned toward him, stared st him for a moment, and the tongue lashed out.

And that was when Ryoohki snapped.

Dahvir juked, spinning to the right to avoid the tongue and resuming fire. Mara watched the tongue heading straight for Rhyooki, and she saw the look in his eyes.

Before the tongue reached him, Ryoohki's hand shot out and grabbed it. The frog croaked in surprise and tried to retract the tongue, but it didn't budge.

Ryoohki silently pulled on the tongue with both hands, eventually ripping it from its mouth.

Dahvir looked over at Rhyooki, his gun falling silent as he watched his friend rip the tongue from the frog. "What...in hell?" he said quietly. He looked at Jade, just now noticing that she was on the ground. "Oh shit." he said. He dropped the gun, which had deafened nearly all of his senses during the firing, and knelt next to Jade. "Mara. On me. Kiento, stay here and cover Rhyooki. If I can get her back to the ships fast enough, she might survive with the air compression system in the cockpits of the Arwings." Dahvir said, looking at them all.

He was interrupted by a feral scream of rage. Ryoohki dashed around behind the frog and wrapped the tongue around its throat. He yanked hard, essentially choking it with its own tongue.

"Just do what you can!" Dahvir said, standing back up and hefting the gun up, not fully sure what to do at this point. He wasn't sure if he should stop Rhyooki, but he also wasn't sure if this frog was going to attract other enemies. Too many variables.

Ryoohki didn't approach Dahvir, but rather stopped at the minigun, hefted it up like it was nothing and let out another scream of rage, emptying the entire belt of ammunition into the dead frog. When it was spent, he ran forward and proceeded to wail on it with the gun itself until restrained.

Dahvir stepped back when Rhyooki finished the belt of ammo, which wasn't much left, and began to beat the dead body with the large gun. He walked forward, his eyes shadowed over as he placed a hand on Rhyooki's shoulder. "Rhyooki, stop." he said.

Dahvir and Mara both checked their gauges. Dangerously low. "We need to move! NOW!" Dahvir shouted. He left the Minigun behind, more focused on getting Rhyooki back to his Arwing so he could breathe, as well as the rest of them so they didn't die.

"This atmosphere isn't hostile," he said. "Something's wrong."

"Looks to be the effects of a hallucinogenic gas," Kineto interrupted. "Those weren't frogs after all."

Ryoohki suddenly went wide eyed. "It's a trap! We need to get out of here!"

Dahvir walked to his Arwing, plugging his comm into it and boosting the signal. "This is Company 117-852, The Stormblades, contacting the I.S.S. Triumph, CDF branch, Major Evelyn Salt. Clearance code Bravo Lima Echo Hotel." Dahvir relayed across the channel. Dahvir set the communicator on the ground and activated the holo-link, the connection giving a light ping as it was established. A hologram of Salt came up in front of them when it was secured.

It appeared to be Salt that appeared at first, but it turned out to be a surprised-looking desk clerk. With astounding speed she moved slightly and the line went dead.

Ryoohki was about to say something before a large dropship loomed over them, seeing gently to the ground several yards out. It was reassuring to see the CDF logo on the sides of it.

The ship sat unmoving for what seemed like an eternity.

Just as Ryoohki was about to approach it the hatch popped open, a dozen armed and armored CDF personnel storming forth, rifles raised. They quickly surrounded the group, rifles pointed at them all.

They see a bunch of cold murderers, gunning down the Liberty's defensive forces, leaving it helpless against the frog attack, just so you could 'save' the Triumph and steal the glory. By the way, those funds you accepted? It was hot. You are all branded as criminals. Felons. Runaways. I'll leave you all be and let the police do the dirty work. Later!"

With that she boarded the landing craft, the soldiers flanking her. The hatch closed, the great ship heaving into the air and rocketing away.

Dahvir stood there, shouting profanities and mindless yelling at the ship as if left, emptying his clips into the air at it to no avail. He roared with fury, punching one of the trees and sending a few cracks through its trunk. "She...she lied to us..." he snarled. "All of us...for so long..." He looked back at Rhyooki. "I won't go back there. I'll die before I get put back in that cell." he said. He yelled with anger again, punching the same spot on the tree and creating more cracks. Mara was just stunned silent, trembling as she held her gun before dropping to her knees, barely able to breathe. "W...why...? What motive...could she possibly have...?" she whispered.

"We're going to have to prove our innocence," Ryoohki said darkly. "I need a pilot to go with me back to the ship to get a transport. There's no way Jade is going to fly like that. We're going to the Virtue, turn ourselves in, and get Jade the help she needs. I know you all don't want imprisonment, but it will only make it worse and make ourselves less guilty. We're going to prove our innocence and return to take Salt down. Anyone who doesn't like this plan may leave at this time."

With that he stepped over to his craft and hopped inside. The engines roared to life, he rose from the ground for a bit, and shot off when Mara was off the ground too.

Mara didn't respond this time, just squeezing her eyes shut. At the time, she was so scared. Scared of the monstrous frog, scared that Jade was going to die, and scared of Rhyooki. She'd been paralyzed with fear.

"I was a lab experiment, never conceived by the normal method. I learned that the scientists tried to create the perfect specie of wolf by eliminating any weakness and emphasizing on the strengths. I was the first one to undergo their new method as an embryo. Someone goofed and inserted a fox gene instead of a wolf gene and didn't realize it until it was too late. They tried getting it back out but ended up spoiling the experiment, as the damage has already been done. That's why I have a second tail. It was no birth defect, but a laboratory screw up.

"They meant to dispose of me the next day, but someone broke into the lab and stole me away, finding a suitable mother to birth me. I wonder if what happened back there was a side effect of all this."

Ryoohki sped forward and inverted himself, flying directly over her craft. Looking up he said, "Hey. We're a team. Nothing gets held back. Lack of communication will only sap our trust of one another and get us killed. Feel free to speak your mind and do not be afraid."

He then speed off, the ship getting closer in the distance.

Ryoohki was quiet and stoic the rest of the way there, slowing down and reentering the hangar bay. His craft was caught by the launching handles, turned around, and brought back into position. When the process was finished, he opened the canopy and stepped out.

Ryoohki stepped to a console and tapped a few buttons. A rather medium-sized craft slid out from the launching rails and waited, ready to launch. Its wings were folded up for being more compact.

Ryoohki stepped inside the craft and took the pilot's seat, an open copilot seat next to him. A large open space was on the deck, as well as a few open seats lined the bulkhead. Ryoohki flipped a few switches, preparing to launch.

Jade suddenly stirred and reached out to grab Dahvir's jacket. When he turned to face her her eyes were wide and panicky. She was unable to speak, but mouth these words:

Why did he abandon me?

With that her eyes went cold and distant, her grip on his jacket relaxing.

"No...no no no...no no no no no no...Come on Jade, come on, stay with me here." he said, taking her head in his hands and shaking her gently. "Come back to us Jade, he's coming back." Dahvir sounded panicked now, shaking her a bit more harshly as his eyes misted over. "Jade! You come back to us dammit! That's an order!" he shouted. He fell to his knees, holding Jade by the shoulders now, her head falling back limp. Tears fell against Dahvir's feathers, his shoulders shaking. "You can't leave us...the mission isn't done..." he said through a choked voice. "You can't leave him...he needs you more than ever, more than anything..." Dahvir lay her gently on the ground, closing her eyes. "I'm going to kill her." He growled. "I'm going to rip Salt's goddamn throat out and while she's standing there, gasping for air for that last few seconds of life, I'm going to make sure there's a bullet placed right between her eyes...I promise you that Jade..."

Mara sat in the co-pilot's seat, strapping in a flipping a few switches as well. "Ready for launch captain." she said, looking over at him.

"Shit!" Kineto muttered, rifling through his med bag. He pulled out a small cloth pouch and pressed his fingers hard against her wrist. Shaking his head, he placed them on her neck and waited. His eyes suddenly lit up, though still remained dark. "She still has a pulse, but she's walking the line right now. The lung is only meant for an hour most, for an ambulance ride from a home to the hospital. We're approaching two and a half and it's not gonna hold. I can do an emergency quick fix but doctors at the station will be furious with me. I'm going to have to slice her throat open and manually reconnect her trachea, but I require your permission to do so. If we don't she dies, and if we do, she'll still have an overwhelming chance of dying too, but the key word is chance. What shall I do?"

"Then let's launch already and get back there," he said, throwing the throttle forward and launching off the rails and into the open space. He extended the wings and pushed the engines as far as they could safely go.

After remaining silent for a moment he suddenly spoke up. "Now that we're out in space and I'm within an arm's reach, care to tell me about what you said when we were in our Arwings?"

He turned and flashed her an obnoxious toothy grin, laughed, then turned toward the front, shaking his head as if shaking it off as a joke.

"Do it! Do whatever you can to bring her back!" Dahvir practically shouted. "And if anyone at the station gives you hell, you direct them to me!"

Mara's face went red again and she looked away, her tail flicking in embarrassment. "You aren't going to let that go, are you?" She asked, a quiet laugh under her breath.

"Eh, I was only joking," he said. "I understand if if you want to keep it hidden, since it's not mission-critical or anything. Do keep in mind what I told you about communication, but I certainly won't exactly expect you to share your metaphorical diary."

He looked around the ship and frowned. "Dahvir and Kineto are being awfully quiet. Sure hope everything is going okay," he said.

Kineto pulled out two surgery masks and handed one to Dahvir. "Put this on," he said as he put on his and rifled through the bag once more. He pulled out a small bottle of iodine and a portable razor. He shaved off the fur around Jade's neck and squeezed a small amount of iodine on the middle area of her throat. He rubbed it in thoroughly, disinfecting the area.

"Okay, Dahvir. It's going to get a bit bloody. I need you to take this pump and drain out as much blood as you can so I can see where I'm working I'm going to be looking for both ends of her wind pipe. We have few precious seconds, since no oxygen is going to her lungs and is most likely suffering brain damage as we speak. Once I have her trachea connected I can't close her up since the seal will be extremely thin and temporary. Are you ready?"

Dahvir nodded. "I hope you've got quick hands." he said, putting on the mask and taking the pump.

"After taking a hit like that, it'll be a miracle she'd be awake right now," Ryoohki sighed, watching the planet looming closer and closer into view.

"I'm not the lead medic on the Virtue for nothing," he said. "Be ready with that pump, and here goes nothing."

He made a long incision down the length of her neck, cutting around any muscle and bone. He let Dahvir move the blood out of the way before seeing what damage had been done. He frowned when he saw the severed wind pipe. "Damn, it's not a wonder why she couldn't breathe," he muttered. "Completely severed. My lung wasn't doing anything at all."

He took a set of forceps and took the two ends of her wind pipe and brought them together. Taking a bit of green paste he applied it to both ends and held them together for a bit, letting it settle. When he released the forceps, the pipe stayed together, though the tension made it apparent the bond wasn't going to last forever.

"Keep draining the blood," he said, taking the lung again and forcing more air down her throat. She jolted with a start, coughing and thrashing. She made a few rasping and panicked noises, but was unable to say much. She was able to breathe on her own but due to how fast and short the breaths were she was in extreme pain.

"Calm down, everything will be okay," Kineto said, removing the lung and searching through the bag. He then pulled out a small needle and took the cap off. "I'm sorry to do this, but we're gonna have to put you under. We need you to relax, I'm sure the pain must be unbearable.

Her mouth opened in a silent scream as she thrashed some more. "Keep her held down, Dahvir!" he said, grabbing her arm and searching for a vein.

Dahvir put his thigh over her legs, holding her arms down. "Jade, listen to me. You're going to be alright, but I need you to calm down." He said, looking her in the eyes. "You're stronger than this! You can get through this!"

Kineto found her vein and pushed in the needle deep. Withing moments, Jade's struggles gradually died down, the drug having effectively knocking her out. She merely slept on the ground, breathing quietly.

Before Dahvir could answer a small transport could be seen in the distance, slowly closing in on their position, it hovered over the site for a moment before gently setting down.

"Goddammit. I'll help Jade. I need Mara and Dahvir to fly two more Arwings back to the Asmodeus. We'll have to leave Kineto's here."

Dahvir and Mara went over to the other Arwings, getting in and pulling up into the air. "Dahvir, what happened down there?" Mara asked him on comm. "I'll explain when we get up to the ship..." he said, sighing.

"No, Dahvir, tell us what happened now," Ryoohki said from the transport, following not to far behind them. "I'm sick and fucking tired of people not telling me things. First it's when you refused to tell me what I did when I blacked out, Mara when she made some off-comment our first trip out, and now you're not telling me what happened planetside when we were gone. Goddammit, I want answers!"

"Ryoohki! Shut up and get ahold of your fucking self! Your screaming isn't exactly helping the situation!" Kineto angrily shouted back, after the sudden shout almost made him apply his lung the wrong way. Such an action could have proved disastrous.

Ryoohki lost grip of his controls and buried his head in his hands, fighting hard not to break down and weep. First he and his team were sent off to an unknown sector, his only love was critically wounded and is near death, he blacked out and became a monster that his entire team feared, a close friend and ally just betrayed them and left them for dead, and now he has reduced himself to yelling angrily at his own team.

He paused for a few breaths. "Dahvir... I'm sorry for yelling at you. It's just... so much has happened at once. I'm stressed. We're all stressed. Please. Tell me things. As captain and leader it's my job to make sure to protect you all and keep you all together. I am not doing my job if any information at all is withheld from me. Can I ask you guys to do that?"

My not telling you what happened planetside at this current time is what is best for the situation. Trust me." Dahvir said, gripping his controls tighter. "I know you're stressed. We all are at this point. But I need you to put your complete trust in me when I say that I will tell you everything. _Later._Until then, I just need you to bear with me until we at least get Jade stabilized."

The three craft sped away into the vast open space and toward their looming luxury ship. Considering the circumstances on acquiring it, it doesn't seem much like a luxury anymore.
