Preface
This is a complete deviation from my normal Sci-Fi writings. A regular anthro tale spun in the present time with present amenities. It allows for more freedom with species and storylines as I'm relieved of the burden of having to come up with a scientifically plausible explanation for [insert improbability here].
The series will be in "episodes", rather than one HUGE tale. I will not call them individual chapters, because each will have their own tale. Want to call it a furry soap? I'm cool with that, too.
Victoria Fox, my editor is so much more in this. Probably closer to a co-author than anything. My gratitude goes out to her for endless patience putting up with me in her busy schedule.

Elise and Ethan were two typical urban teenage foxes who spent summer celebrating their completion of high school like most other middle class graduates when the party was over - by loafing around their parent's house.
Ethan preferred to spend his time on the computer, talking to his friends or playing one of his games. Elise was glued to her smart phone, texting, social media, chatting, making coffee and cake arrangements, the works.
They were different people, but always were close friends. They helped each other with school work and chores around the house. There was some rivalry, but they were a quiet pair, keeping to themselves when at home.
Their parents however, wished the two had a desire to experience more of life.
Earlier in the year, they were sent on a camping trip by their dad with their Uncle Rick and Aunt Eugenia. It was during that trip that Ethan and Elise became shall we say, closer.
Fall was now coming upon them and life was about to get a little bit more complicated for the two.
Ah, those unexpected curve balls in life.
Ethan went downstairs to get some bread from the family's freezer. As he walked down the hallway to the utility room, a light already on and shadows of movement caught his eye. He slowed for a silent approach.
He thought he was alone. His parents had left for a barbecue at the home of a coworker of his dad. His sister had made plans to spend time with her friends at the mall. He decided to take advantage of the alone time to turn up the stereo and game uninterrupted with his friends on the computer.
He peered into the utility room to see Elise pulling clothes out of the dryer and into a basket, studiously folding each article as she went. The crackle of static filled the air and her fur stood on end, despite the 'anti-static' dryer sheets their family used. Maybe for humans they dissipated static, but he had yet to hear of any dryer sheet worth their hype when it came to any being with fur.
She was wearing an oversized white tee shirt of thin material that she often used as a nightie. Bulky and loose, it looked as comfortable as she said it was.
She bent down and tried to reach the last of her items in the back of the dryer. She gave a sigh when she was unable to reach it and got down on her hands and knees, sticking her head inside the drum as well.
As she did this, her tail lifted the bottom of the tee shirt just enough for Ethan to glimpse the delicate white fur hairs on the back of her thighs, surrounding her pussy. As she got the last item and backed her head out of the dryer drum, she fully exposed herself to his view.
Ethan, leaning on the door frame with his arms crossed enjoying the show, let out a whistle.
Elise, startled, gasped, hit her head on the drum with a thud. "OW! Dammit!"
Ethan gave an amused snort, but went over and knelt beside his sister as she sat and rubbed the back of her head. "Are you OK?"
"No! You startled me.... Jerk!" She scowled at him.
Ethan let out a laugh. "You weren't supposed to be here and I came down to get some bread."
"Yeah well, you sneaked." She grumbled. She stopped rubbing her head and Ethan helped her to her feet. She gasped and blushed, "You were watching me, weren't you?" She said accusingly.
"I was minding my own business while you were... showing off." He smiled.
Elise folded and draped the skirt she removed from the dryer over the top of the items in the basket, so it wouldn't crease. "Things between us are different now."
"Uh-huh." Ethan said with a nod. "I'd say for the better." He picked up the basket and smiled, a wordless offer to carry it back to her room for her. Something he would have never done before their camping trip a few weeks ago.
As they walked out of the utility room, Elise turned off the light. "Don't get me wrong, I don't regret it either."
"But...." Ethan added.
"Well, a girl's body goes through changes. We started something that maybe I wasn't ready for just yet." Elise said not sure if her brother would understand.
"Hmm.." Ethan said understandingly, "The fires."
Elise looked back at him and nodded. "Yeah. You know?"
He shrugged, "Of course I know. All us guys do. We look forward to it so girls can't turn us away.... to help calm them."
Elise rolled her eyes. "Of course. Always thinking with your dicks."
They entered Elise's room and Ethan put the basket on her bed.
"How am I going to explain this to mom?" She said as she got a hangar and put the skirt on it.
Ethan sat on the bed and with an expression that he was stating the obvious, "Just don't tell her."
She looked at him as if he was dense. "Girls know. Mothers even more so."
"Oh."
"Yeah, 'oh'." She said and continued to put away her clothes.
Ethan stood up in a prideful manner, convinced he had the answer. "We'll just have to keep them fires in check now, won't we?"
She stopped and smiled at him, "I'm sure you'd like that." She pondered for a moment and her smile faded. "What if I get pregnant? Inhibitors are known to fail if relations are closer than second cousins."
"Fail? Like what, three per hundred-thousand or something like that the news said the other day?" He comfortingly put his arms around her. "And if it did, we'd be the best parents a twelve-fingered, three tailed, two-headed fox kit could have."
She chuckled, "C'mon, be serious. This could be..." She turned around and looked into her brother's sincere face. "Oh, you are serious?"
He nodded, "Uh-huh."
She put her arms on his shoulders and stroked his neck fur with her fingers. "I envy the vixen that eventually ropes you."
They gently rubbed noses, their whiskers tickling each others muzzle. "Until then, we have each other." He whispered.
He felt her breath on his face as her eyes softened into gentle submissiveness. Pressing his muzzle to hers, her mouth opened in an invitation to his tongue. An invitation he accepted as he gently pulled her close. Holding each other, the world slipped away, masked by their beating hearts and gentle touches.
The afternoon turned into early evening. Not that anyone inside the house had noticed.
"Mmmm...." Elise let out a satisfied sigh, a contented smile filled her face. Laying on her side with Ethan's arm around her, spooning her, he nuzzled and kissed her.
"Feeling better now?" He whispered.
"Mmm-hmmm." His sister sighed contentedly and stroked his arm. She never imagined the level of satisfaction, physically, emotionally, psychologically, that a simple act of lovemaking could bring a vixen experiencing such a condition as 'the fires'.
She took his hand and pressed it to her bosom. "If you feel half as good as I do right now, this... what we have... is so worth it."
He smiled, "Oh, I do. And yes, it so is."
After a time of tender cuddling, Elise got up and stood beside her bed and gave a stretch. She felt a warm, wet stream down the inside of her thighs. She looked down and saw her fur matted, soaked with the results of their passion. "Eeeek! I need to take a show..." *GASP!* She turned and saw a huge wet spot in her bed where she lay. Ethan, still laying on his side, looking at her didn't notice.
"What?" He asked innocently.
"Ohhh gods..." She said in a panic. "The sheets need changing, the mattress will be all wet, we're so going to be caught."
He hopped out of bed and put his arms around her, "Calm down, relax." She stopped her panic and looked at him concerned. He stroked her tangled, scruffy hair, "Just go have your shower and I'll take care of it."
"But... mom and dad will be home soon. How will we..." She protested.
He gently placed a finger on her muzzle, "Shhhhh. I said I'll take care of it." He said in a calming manner.
She smiled with trusting eyes. She got some clothes and left the room.
Ethan had the washing machine started and heard a shriek from upstairs. He realized that he should have waited for his sister to finish her shower before starting the wash cycle. He chuckled, "She'll make me pay for that, but it was worth it."
The doorbell rang. He rolled his eyes, annoyed. "So much for my alone time, today."
He opened the door to see his aunt smiling back at him. "Aunt Eugenia?"
The plump skunkette gave him a big hug. "I swear you've grown since I last saw you three weeks ago!"
Ethan laughed as he hugged her back, "You always say that. What brings you by?"
She came in the house and Ethan closed the door. "Your uncle went to that barbecue with your parents. I came home from afternoon bingo with the ladies to find his note. He was bringing beer, so knowing him and your father, they will be half drunk by now. I came to spend time with my favourite nephew."
"I'm your only nephew." He reminded her, as he always did when her or Uncle Rick said that.
Eugenia was the type of sweet auntie written about in books; short, older, plump figure with voluptuous bust and hips, always happy, would spoil you and feed you until you burst and a little dotty.
"Have you eaten? You look so skinny. Here, let me cook you something." She said as she removed her coat and before he could answer, she waddled toward the kitchen.
"ETHAN, YOU BIGASS JERK!" Elise came flying down the stairs, shouting. She landed with a stomp at the bottom of the stairs, almost plowing into Eugenia. She obviously had not heard the doorbell.
It was difficult for Ethan to tell who was the more shocked; Eugenia in wide-eyed shock, who almost was run over by her niece, who was dripping wet and naked, or Elise, whose wide-eyed embarrassment filled her face as she stood there, dripping all over the carpet and no towel to cover herself.
With a gulp, she turned and fleeted up the stairs again in a blur.
Ethan face-palmed, then couldn't restrain his laughter. "Oh, Elise is here as well."
"I... see." Eugenia replied shocked. She looked back at Ethan, then joined him in laughter.
Eugenia had helped herself to their kitchen and made a full course meal for lunch, larger than what their mother usually made for dinner for the entire family. The two being just shy of 20 years, had no problem devouring the meal.
Ethan patted his stomach and leaned back in his chair, *BURRRRRRP!*
"Ethan!" Elise scolded.
Eugenia giggled, "Compliments to the chef?"
"Oh, that was delicious, but I am stuffed." He replied.
"How about you, sweetie. Want a dessert?" She asked Elise.
She shook her head and pushed away her empty plate, "Oh, no. I ate way more than I should have."
"Well then, tell me what you have been doing with yourselves?" The skunkette looked at the siblings, wanting to hear everything, though it had been less than a month since they saw each other.
"Not much. Still contemplating work with dad or hitchhike the world." He answered half serious.
"Uh-huh." Eugenia nodded unconvinced, knowing he'd just hang with his friends and game until his dad ordered him to do something or got kicked out into the real world.
She turned to Elise and smiled, "And you my dear?"
Elise just gave a blank look.
"Well, let's start with his name?" Eugenia asked, receiving a confused expression.
"Sweetie, you're glowing. Not in love, but is my little niece becoming a young woman and breaking hearts?"
Elise's eyes turned into headlights for how wide they got. She also shot her brother a fearful glance. He just slightly shrugged and shook his head as if to say, "I said nothing!"
Eugenia gasped. "I... see."
Both of their hearts sank into their stomachs. If Aunt Eugenia was this intuitive, how much more so will their own mother be?
Just then, Eugenia reached over and held both their hands. She looked back and forth between them and gave a smile. "Your secret is safe."
She stood and began to clean the lunch dishes off the table.
Elise had silently disappeared out of the kitchen. Ethan stayed and helped Eugenia with the dishes, drying as she washed by hand. "Loving hands clean better!" She always said and the dishwasher unit that Uncle Rick had got when they were first married, still sat unused to that day.
Neither had said a word. Ethan placed the dish towel over the oven handle to dry. "It... just happened." He said under his breath.
Eugenia gave him one of her big 'auntie hugs' that almost made the skinny fox disappear between her huge breasts. "And better you than some drunken lug at prom." She whispered.
She released her hug and looked up at her towering nephew, her hands on the side of his arms, "Just be careful. Also, some secrets are best left untold."
It was on that note, she got her coat, shouted her goodbye up the stairs to Elise, hugged Ethan and left.
He went upstairs and knocked on his sister's door. "She's gone. You can come out."
Elise opened the door a crack. "Was she mad? Will she tell?"
Ethan smiled, "No and no."
She opened the door and he entered the room. "She guessed the 'why' and said better me than some drunk at prom." He said as she ran her hand through her hair and gave a sigh of relief.
"If Aunt Eugenia figured it out so quick..." She began but Ethan cut her off.
"Aunt Eugenia is a genius at reading people. Mom's pretty dense that way and dad's wired only for reading people at work."
"I guess." Elise accepted. She then grabbed one of her large fluffy pillows and knocked Ethan over on the bed with it. "That's for starting the machine when I was in the shower, ass!"
Ethan grabbed her and pulling her on the bed as well, tickled her until she squealed. She got up and gave him a frustrated, but comical expression.
"Little tickle-tums." He smiled.
She sassily stuck her tongue out. "Brat."
--
The sibling's parents came home and as Aunt Eugenia called it, their dad and Uncle Rick were quite sloshed. Their mom had driven home and rolled her eyes when they came in as dad and Rick were holding on to each other and tripping over the door jam, almost fell.
"Kids, your uncle is staying the night. If I bring him home to your aunt like this, he'll end up back here anyway." Their mom said.
Ethan shrugged, "I dunno mom, Aunt Eugenia is cooler than you give her credit for." This comment earned him a sharp look from Elise, who was sitting on the couch.
Rick flopped down on the couch beside Elise and scruffed her ears. She looked annoyed but giggled at her uncle, who wreaked like a brewery.
"So, you kids might be stayin' a spell with your aunt and I, huh?" Rick slurred.
Ethan and Elise looked at him, surprised.
"That ain't true, you old story teller!" Their dad said as he went to get another beer from the fridge, but was turned around and sent to sit in a chair by their mom.
"Now you know what you said, you old bag of fleas... the kids are on their own by twenty, or ya give 'em the boot. An' next week is their birthday." Rick smiled proudly at them. "Two whole decades in this world. That'll be a party!"
The kids looked concerned and irritated at their dad.
"I said that when they were born. That was twenty years ago!" Their dad laughed.
"Why don't you kids head off to bed and let me deal with these two." Their mom offered, looking apologetic.
Elise rolled her eyes and headed upstairs as Ethan chuckled and headed for the basement. "Gotta get something."
He came back up with an arm full of his sister's sheets.
"Ethan?" His mom asked.
He could see his sister at the top of the stairs, wide-eyed with hands covering her mouth. He quickly improvised an explanation. "My punishment from Elise."
His mom raised an eyebrow and cocked her vixen head.
"I thought Elise was out with her friends. Turned out she was taking a nap. So, I stuck her finger in a glass of warm water." Ethan lied.
Rick and his dad laughed out loud.
"Ethan!" His mom shouted disapprovingly. "You had no right to humiliate our sister like that. You're grounded for two days!"
He just shrugged and went upstairs.
Handing Elise her sheets, she looked at him adoringly and whispered, "Thank you!"
He gave a mischievous grin, "At least I'm not a bed wetter!" And ran to his room chuckling as his sister gave a frustrated growl at him.
About ten minutes later, Elise was lying awake, thinking about the events that day.
What was a unique 'it just happened' experience happened again. Should she be feeling this good about it? Should she be hoping for the next time, like she was? Were these feelings normal? No, it couldn't be, not for her own brother! He couldn't possibly be feeling the same things. He just wants sex, all boys do, right? Was it special, or was he just using her?
Her fur stood on end at that thought.
But he did cover for her.
Or did he just take advantage of the situation to dig at her again?
Her phone vibrated that she had a message.
"Who's texting me at this time?" She mumbled as she sat up and picked up the device.
Ethan: You awake?
She rubbed her chin and replied.
Elise: Yeah, why?
Ethan: Thinking about you :-)
She scoffed.
Elise: Masturbating, right?
Ethan:??? I thought we had a good time today?
She realized that maybe she was imagining he had selfish ambitions.
Elise: Yeah, I did :-)
It was a few moments before she received his reply.
Ethan: Goodnight, sis <3
Elise: <3
She sighed as she lay back down, relieved her fears were mistaken.
--
A week had passed, uneventful. Summer was turning to fall and the chill of the morning sniped at their skin right through fur.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Their parents shouted as the two came groggily down the stairs, startling them half to death.
Their parents sang Happy Birthday out of tune as Ethan scowled and Elise face palmed.
"Well look at that." Their dad said. "I think they're too old for this." As he read their expressions.
"Dear, I think they were too old when they were fourteen." Their mom replied.
"But we keep doing it." He said and they laughed.
"Parents" Ethan said, shaking his head.
Elise growled an agreement and went to make herself breakfast.
"Do you have plans?" Their mom asked.
"Hanging out with my friends." Elise said, three quarters asleep.
"Nope." Ethan said simply.
After getting their toast and cereal along with large mugs of coffee, they sat down at the table to find a small box with a bow on it in front of them.
"Ooooo, a present!" Elise smiled.
"It's small." Ethan observed, fidgeting with it.
"Open it." Their dad prodded as he smiled.
They opened the boxes to find that each had a key, identical to each other.
"You gave us a car?" Ethan asked excitedly.
Their dad shook his head. "But it is a means for you to get your own."
They looked confused.
He continued, "It's a key to the store. Now while I wasn't serious about booting you two out of the house, I was serious about you two working at the store until you get real jobs."
"Yay." Elise said sarcastically.
Ethan moaned.
"Pumpkin, my store manager said she needs an assistant on the floor. Ethan, I need you in the warehouse with me. I know you can count and we have had product discrepancies." Their dad explained what he wanted from them.
"So, fire the guy you have if he's a thief and replace him?" Ethan offered.
His dad shook his head, "Terrance isn't a thief, just a dimwit. Customer mail orders five and he'll put seven in the box. He's loyal and handy otherwise."
"So honey, as your birthday gift, we can go shopping and I'll pay for your clothes." Her mom smiled. "Your friends can come and give you advice and I'll buy everyone lunch."
That was an offer Elise couldn't refuse.
"I guess I get to go get work boots and gloves?" Ethan rolled his eyes.
"Partly." His dad said. "You will need some tools for yourself, so we can go to the hardware store and Computer World. One of those industrial tablets are essential for inventory tracking and bar coding."
Ethan smiled, "Tools and computers? I'm in!"
Returning in the afternoon, the two siblings were actually excited about being put to work. Ethan with his new toys and Elise with her new fashions. Though her dad did frown on some of the pieces she had chosen with the help of her friends.
"C'mon dad, other girls my age are wearing this." Elise pleaded.
"But they aren't my little girl." He protested.
"Honey, she's a grown woman." Her mom patted his knee comfortingly.
He sighed and bowed his head, relenting. "Yeah, I guess." He shook his finger, "But if Cerise thinks it's unprofessional, you have to accept her judgment."
"Fiiiiine." Elise acquiesced, throwing her head back and running upstairs with her treasures.
The four met Rick and Eugenia that night for a birthday steak dinner.
"Mark, I dunno what you did to get them kids interested in work, but great job!" Rick toasted his brother.
"I bet you two feel all grown up." Eugenia said in typical auntie style, not realizing how condescending the remark was.
"More ways than one." Ethan winked, eliciting a blush from his aunt and earning a kick under the table from his sister.
Ethan tied into his plate with little finesse. He gulped down coarse chunks as his sister ate somewhat more refined. "You like to savour your meat, don't you?" He winked, eliciting a small gasp from her.
Uncle Rick caught the joke and laughed. "Ya teasing her, boy! She gonna get even one day."
For dessert, they each had a piece of Black Forest cake, but someone ordered them with sparklers, embarrassing them. "We're twenty, not two!" Ethan said as Elise face-palmed.
Their dad and mom shook their heads that they were innocent. Rick looked just as annoyed.
"This will be the last time, I promise. Humour me." Aunt Eugenia said.
They thanked their parents, aunt and uncle for the wonderful meal before parting for the night and returning to their homes.
"Good thing we're all spread out across the calendar...." Rick said, "Birthday dinners get expensive as youngin's get older!"
Returning home, they retired to their bedrooms for the night. As per usual, Elise began reading and snuggled up to her plushie of a cat. She always wanted one, but cats tended to react rather aggressively to canines, so she had her stuffed animal and wishes.
*bleep*
Her phone announced an incoming text. She grinned, knowing who it was from.
Ethan: I forgot to wish you a Happy Birthday.
She was touched. He hadn't wished her that since they were preteens.
Elise: Thank you. HB to you as well.
Ethan: Pretty hot outfit you got <3
She giggled. To her, it was a simple skirt and low-cut blouse. Revealing, yet still professional... for her generation.
Elise: You like it?
Ethan: You fill it well ;-)
Elise: Flatterer <3
Ethan: :-)
Ethan: GN
Elise: night
--
"Cerise, this is that new girl I was telling you about, my daughter, Elise." Her dad introduced her to the front store manager.
"And such ze lovely leetle vixen, non? Ze customer will be proud to pay dere bill." The fennec vixen that barely was over a metre tall said with a painfully thick French accent.
Elise's dad blushed and grumbled defensively, "My intent is to get her some marketable skills, not fill the office with eye candy."
"Non, of course not. Why bother using all asset at your disposal?" Cerise snapped back.
Elise cocked her head, but apparently this banter between them was 'normal' and had been going on long enough for them to be comfortable with it.
Her dad sighed and went into the warehouse to show his son around.
Cerise sized up Elise and smiled, "Anglo have too many hangup." She waved her hand, dismissing her dad. Then she encouraged, "Be yourself and do not be afraid to be ze pretty with me."
The noise in the warehouse made Ethan understand the need for hearing protection. The powerful lift truck used for pulling extremely heavy rolls of industrial flooring off the top shelf some five metres up, was deafening in the small area.
"Dad, who was that cutie up front?" Ethan shouted.
He smiled, "That's Cerise. She's as stubborn and feisty as she is efficient."
"Is she single?" Ethan asked, hopeful.
"Yep! Probably scares them all off when they get to know her." He saw his son's smile fade. "She's too old for you anyway." He patted his shoulder and continued explaining how inventory was stored.
"Your brother, he ees ze cutie, non?" Cerise asked Elise out of the blue while explaining the switchboard and forwarding calls.
Elise was about to say that he was handsome, but then thought better. She shrugged, "He's... my brother."
"Of course." Cerise smiled and continued her instruction.
The door rang as it opened. Elise's heart quickened and she didn't look up. Her first customer? What would she say? She knows nothing yet! Will Cerise toss her to the wolves right away or....
"Excuse me..." A deep voice said.
She looked up to see that wolf she just was thinking about, tall and dark, with piercing eyes and a rugged, muscular build. Clothed simply in dusty denim and flannel with a scruffy cap.
Cerise greeted him and approached the counter, but his gaze shifted to the young vixen seated at the desk, who looked at him with wide 'deer in the headlights' expression.
The wolf smiled, "Well, hello. You're new here, aren't you?" He removed his cap and ran his hand through his scruffy hair, only making it worse, yet in his mind he just became Clark Gable.
"Uhhhh..." Elise struggled, "Yes, I'm new." She continued to stare nervously as he continued to smile.
"Oui, she ees new. What can I help you find?" Cerise said, looking back at Elise with a wink.
"Uhhhh..." He stuttered and turned to Cerise. "Dan Barber, Grayson Floors. I'm here to pay the company bill."
Cerise motioned for Elise to join them up at the counter. "This ees how we process ze payment."
She brought up the account on the computer and the invoice showed $75,450 owing. Elise gasped.
"Is everything all right?" Dan's smile disappeared.
"Everything is fine. How will you pay?" Cerise replied.
Dan pulled out his company credit card.
Cerise showed her trainee how to enter the amount, insert the card and hand the pad to the customer. When the transaction completed, Cerise tore two copies. "Dis one ees ours. Always see ze 'approved' at the bottom before entering as ze paid."
She stapled the customer's copies together and handed it to him.
He thanked her and smiled at Elise, tipping his hat. "Hope you do all right at your new job." He left.
Elise squealed and face palmed. "First customer and I was so stupid!"
Cerise patted her back. "You made hees day. But why did you be shocked?"
"I... I've never seen a bill for so much before!"
Cerise laughed. "His bill ees average. Some contractor have ze hundred thousand when dey are busy."
"I didn't know dad made that much money."
"He does not." Cerise shook her head. "Ze company does. Your father and I make ze sames. Terrance a leetle less and you and your cutie brother will make even less."
Elise felt insulted as the boss' daughter. "How do you know that?" She snapped.
Cerise hardened into manager mode, "Because I am ze comptroller and you two are new!" She barked like a sergeant, unwilling to accept any less than full compliance.
Elise understood then and there that her relationship to her father would be of no privilege there.
The family was gathered around the dinner table. Dad was going on how proud he was about the kids and how they made it a full day. Ethan was gorging himself. Elise, just pecking at her plate, seemed to be in her own space.
"Sweetie, what's wrong, dear?" Mom asked.
"Cerise is a bitch." Elise grumbled.
"Elise!" Her mom said reprovingly as the boys laughed.
"Did she not like your outfit?" Dad asked.
"She was fine with that." Elise explained. "But she could be nicer."
"Well, she is my little drill sergeant." Her dad replied, waving his fork. "What did you do, expect special treatment for being my daughter?"
"She thought I was."
"Well pumpkin, the real world isn't nice. It's how you handle it that will determine your success." Dad said profoundly.
"I'm going to my room." Elise said, picking up her dinner plate and taking it upstairs.
"Maybe I'll skip hitting on her." Ethan said. "Did Terrance ever?"
Gulping down the last of his roast beef, his dad just shrugged. "I doubt it. Terrance is gay."
Ethan looked shocked. "What? He seemed a macho type of coyote before I heard him speak, that is."
"He is." His dad said. "Stereotyped television is where you see them all dressed like Liberace. I met his boyfriend, a cable vision exec. Wouldn't guess he was either."
"Oh honey, look at the time!" Mom said looking at the clock and getting up. Grabbing the dishes, she started to fill the dishwasher. Dad helped her.
"Going out tonight?" Ethan asked.
"Yeah, got invited to the theatre by a client. Not into Broadway stuff, but they're free tickets worth a couple hundred bucks!"
"Not to mention, impressing the client." Ethan added.
His dad winked and pointed his finger, "Now you're learning business, my boy!"
Ethan saw his parents off and promised to unload the dishwasher later. He went upstairs and gently knocked on his sister's door. "You OK?"
She opened the door and sat down on her desk chair, her plate still half full. "I'm being over sensitive again, aren't I?"
Ethan sat down on the bed. "I dunno, I wasn't there."
"Kiana says I am." She said, pushing away her phone.
"Kiana?" He said surprised. "Doesn't she agree with you on everything?"
"Only when you're around." She said with a chuckle.
Kiana was Elise's closest friend since grade three. A chubby, fluffy little squirrel girl that Ethan had a crush on since forever, but she wouldn't give him the time of day. He was convinced she was a lesbian, but he never saw her date anyone, male or female.
He got up and began massaging her shoulders. "We're both gonna have shit days, sis. You just had the first one."
She leaned back, head down and thoroughly enjoyed the massage. He gently kneaded the tension out of them, then her neck. She leaned her head back against him, looking up with appreciative eyes. She reached up and took his hands, placing them crossed on her chest.
He leaned over and kissed her. Sweet, gentle kisses as two lovers would. His hands slid lower onto her breasts, massaging and squeezing them. She gave a sigh of pleasure as the intensity of her kisses grew. Under her work blouse, she still wore her bra. Ethan's fingers slipped inside, rubbing and teasing her nipples until they protruded noticeably through the modesty padding in them.
"Ethan..." She whispered. "We shouldn't tonight. Mom and dad..... and I'd rather spend more time together with you, like last time."
He nuzzled and nibbled on her neck. "Then let my try something with you."
She had her head tilted, eyes closed, enjoying the sensuous teasing her neck and shoulder was receiving. "Mm, like what?" She was curious as to what is in his mind.
"Come." He replied with a smile and motioned for her to stand. She did.
He unbuttoned her skirt and slipped it down over her hips. He kissed her belly and navel. "Lie down on your bed."
With a puzzled smile, she did. She lay on her side toward him. He knelt on the bed at her feet and ran his hand up her leg. With a gentle push on her hips, he indicated he wanted her on her back.
She giggled, "What are you doing?"
He just smiled. Gently he placed his hands behind he ankles and lifted them, spreading her legs and placed them over his shoulder. He leaned over, bringing his face a few cm away from her crotch when he felt her hands on his head.
"Ethan! I worked all day and..." She protested.
His eyes looked up at her, "You're still sweet. Now trust me."
She withdrew her resistance from his head and closed her eyes shyly. She felt his warm breath and muzzle glancing across the hairs of her lips and kiss gently, then her first experience with a warm, wet tongue pressing in between them.
"UUUNNGGGGGHHHHhhhh......." She screamed as her pelvis pushed into his face.
His tongue slipped inside her damp, but still tight tunnel and she screamed again. Her hands gripped his hair and pulled him as close as she could as she quivered in passion.
The sounds of her pleasure filled the room, tapering into whimpers after three complete orgasms. Gently pushing at him now as she couldn't take any more of the intensity.
He moved and slid himself up the bed beside her as she panted like a dog. Her eyes were filled with both amazement and disbelief at what she experienced.
Ethan's long tongue was licking at his muzzle. "Belated Happy Birthday." He whispered to her ear.
"Oh... gods..." She said in between pants. "That... was... in... credible!" Her pelvis shuddered again in spontaneous orgasm, making her gasp.
She looked at him adoringly as they lay together, eyes locked, fingers entwined on her chest and his other hand stroking her hair as he propped himself on his side with his elbow.
"Glad I could cheer you up." He said and began to get up.
"Ethan.." She said and he stopped.
She gently pressed against his chest for him to lay down. She swung her legs up and knelt beside him, opening his dampened, slippery pants and lowering his zipper.
Ethan's heart jumped, in a good way. He pushed his pants down off his hips, exposing his hard, red penis and wet, matted fur.
Elise smiled at him and fondled his testicles, making the tip of his penis dribble. With her other hand, she pulled her long hair to the side, adjusted herself and leaned down over him. He closed his eyes.
He felt her mouth slide over him, opening further in an attempt to keep her sharp teeth from scraping him. Her tongue lapped at him as she sucked.
"Oh gods, yessss..." He said above a whisper, running his fingers in her hair and gently holding her head as he gave shallow thrusts. It was happening for him, that night, this precious act.... He gave a moan as his hot seed exploded out of his body.
His sister let out a muffled "Mmmph!" as he felt his pent-up passion leave his body with intensity. He felt her sucking on him again as the last drops exited, leaving his still pulsing member nothing left to deliver.
His now overly sensitive young manhood withdrew from her mouth, his sword retreating once again to its sheath. His hand dropped off her head and down beside him as he gasped for breath.
She gently stroked his chest and belly under his work shirt, looking at him with a gentle and beautiful expression he's never seen from her, or any female before. She licked her muzzle before laying beside him and cuddling wordlessly the rest of the evening.
She got dressed and he changed his damp pants literally minutes before their parents returned home.
--
Next morning was another day of work. Typical of the morning rush, for work as it had been before for school, mom had breakfast ready, dad was calling upstairs, saying his perfect pot of coffee was getting 'old and cold' and the siblings left everything for the last second.
Elise left the bathroom, mirror all fogged up, clipping an earring in her ear as Ethan came dashing out of his room, shirt buttoned out of sequence and trying to correct it in his groggy state was making it worse. He almost collided with his sister in the hallway.
Their eyes met, but instead of a grumbled 'Morning' from her and a grunt from him, both their hearts leapt. They smiled and went to kiss, simultaneously withdrawing remembering where they were and who they were.
"Ummm, good morning." Elise said, blushing and turning coyly.
"Hey..." Ethan said at a loss for anything else.
She smiled again and finished clipping the earring and went down stairs. His eyes followed her.
Their first week working for their dad got better for Elise and she was doing invoicing and confidently answering the phone like she had been there for months. Ethan caught on to his job quick and made friends with Terrance. Terrance even worked better now he was working with_someone in the back, rather than _for someone.
Home life was better too, unbeknownst to the siblings until their dad brought it up at Friday's dinner table. "See honey, work makes adults of them, like I figured. I mean Ethan and Elise have been doing things for each other like they never have been. Responsibility! It makes one feel accomplished."
"I'm so glad you were right sweetie." She replied to her husband. "The rivalry between those two was getting... stressful."
Elise plopped a laundry basket beside her brother. "I cleaned, you fold."
He smiled gratefully, "And here you are! Your precious phone is cleaned, rooted and streamlined. No more lags when texting or Skyping your friends after disabling all the bloatware.
She took the phone with a smile, bounced with a squeal and ran upstairs to chat with her friends.
Their parents looked on. "Just one week? It's amazing. Maybe they'll stay at the store?" Mom said.
Dad shrugged, "I thought for sure Elise would have quit after the first conflict with Cerise. Most do. Colour me surprised!"
That Saturday, Elise spent the morning with her best friend at the mall, window shopping the upcoming winter fashions.
"Now you have your own money, you'll be able to get these for yourself." Kiana said as Elise admired a long leather coat with matching angora toque and scarf. "Maybe you'll be able to turn some fox heads into spoiling you."
"I still don't know what I want to do with the rest of my life." Elise turned to Kiana with an embarrassed smirk. "Am I a typical fresh-out-of-school girl or what?"
Kiana gave a chitter of a chuckle. "Even if you have plans, you'll fall in love and it'll all change!"
"Oh don't be silly." Elise waved her hand. Then she turned and smiled, "Or is there someone I don't know about?" She took her arm and began walking. "Do tell, do tell!"
Kiana laughed. "There's no one for me.... yet. But we should invite Marie for lunch and hear all about her new beau."
"Her first date was last night, wasn't it?" Elise asked excitedly as Kiana nodded with a smile. "You're right, we should invite her for lunch."
Kiana looked in her purse and gasped. "I forgot my phone!"
Elise waved dismissively and shook her head. "Here, use mine. I have to go pee, anyway."
Kiana sat down on a mall bench as Elise scurried off. Being a different unit, Kiana was pressing various apps, trying to get to the phone function.
A few minutes later, Elise returned. "Whew! I couldn't have held that much longer. Did you get hold of Marie?"
Kiana looked at her best friend as if for the first time, like maybe she hadn't known her at all. She held Elise's phone up to her with a raised eyebrow.
"What's wrong?" Elise queried, seeing her friend's expression.
"So, tell me..." She asked quietly and looking around if anyone was in earshot. "So, how long have you been fucking your own brother, 'tickle-tums'?"
Elise felt as if she could die.
--
Ethan crawled out of bed at the crack of noon, his preferred time. He felt accomplished and proud of himself for the past week, but also realizing he had muscles aching in places he never knew he had muscles.
Ethan was startled as he entered the kitchen to a shout from his uncle, "How's that workin' boy!"
His mouth smiled, but his eyes scowled. "Morning Uncle Rick"
"You forgot someone, young man!" His dad admonished.
He opened his eyes to see his Aunt Eugenia at the table, giving a wave and a smile.
"Oh, sorry! Hello Aunt Eugenia." He said and stopped. "I better go put something on." He concluded with a blush having only been wearing his boxers and went back upstairs. Returning moments later, in a tattered tee shirt and shorts.
"I guess you don't have the energy to go fishin' with your dad and I this afternoon on the boat?" Rick asked.
"I'd love to!" He replied honestly. "But I've made arrangements. Gotta boast to my buds about my new job and all." Ethan smiled as he poured himself a coffee.
"Don't blame ya!" Rick said, leaning over the table and giving him a pat on the shoulder. "I'm still proud of my first job. Chicken catching! The only newbie to make it a week without being called 'one-eye'."
"Looks like everyone is busy today." His dad said. "Your mom and Eugenia are off to that new craft store in town."
"Ah!" Ethan sipped his coffee, the aroma and flavour jilting his brain into coherence. "More activity volunteering ideas for the kindergartners at school, mom?"
"Yes!" She replied happily. "Now that you and your sister are well on your way to self-sufficiency, I'm thinking about returning to work as a teaching assistant."
Dad and Rick got their gear together for an afternoon on the river. Morning is best for the river, but the tides were coming in and the salmon fish came up the river with it to 'clean their gills' while migrating and they were hoping to nab a couple.
Mom went upstairs to primp herself up as she always did. Didn't matter if it was a night at the theatre or the grocery store, her fur had to be 'just so'.
Aunt Eugenia and Ethan were at the table, initially talking all about his new work. He gave a long pause.
"What's on your mind, sweetie?" His intuitive aunt, asked. She leaned over and quietly said, "Something to do with Elise?"
He nodded. His head and eyes moved about as he searched for the way to put the question. But he didn't have to.
"You love her, don't you." She said with compassion.
"I think so." He replied. "Now I see what you meant by being careful."
She smiled. "Too late!"
He gave an embarrassed chuckle.
"I'd like to talk to you both, sooner than later." She said. "I'll arrange something so as to not be unusual with your parents or Rick.
"Thank you." Ethan said appreciatively.
"Ready!" His mom said as she came down the stairs and the ladies were off.
--
Elise's feeling of fear quickly turned to anger and one of violation. He fur stood on end and her gentle face hardened. She aggressively snatched her phone from Kiana's hand.
"Don't you dare judge me!" She snapped, her voice gravelled with anger. "You invade my privacy and violate my propriety and look at me as the wrong doer here?" She glared for several moments, "I thought you were my best friend."
She turned and walked away hastily, tears began rolling down her cheek. She needed to see Ethan. She wanted to go where she knew she was emotionally safe with her secret, now that she had been betrayed. She never looked back to see if Kiana was following after her, nor did she care to.
She forgot all about the lunch date.
It was only a ten minute bus ride from the mall to her house, but to Elise, it felt like hours. She ran in the door and she could no longer hold in her emotions. She cried and shouted, "ETHAN!" The combination made it sound like she was being murdered.
Her brother flew half dressed down the stairs, his face a combination of terror for what his sister's shout filled him with, and rage for whatever may have caused it.
"Oh, thank gods your home!" She threw her arms around him and sobbed so intensely, she fell to her knees.
Ethan picked her up and held her, "What? What is it?" He stroked her hair and wiped her cheek, feeling helpless as to what he could do to stop her sadness.
"Some... something terrible just happened. All my fault. I'm sorry!" She sobbed hysterically again.
"Should I call dad? The police?" He offered.
"No! No! Not that." She said in her overwrought state, he hardly made out the answer.
He sat her down on the couch, holding her tight. "Shhhhh, you're safe. When you're ready, tell me." He said tenderly.
After emptying half the box of tissues that were on the coffee table, she calmed enough to explain what happened.
Ethan listened to her story without interruption. She didn't know how he would react. Hearing herself 'play back' the events, doubts crept in. He would probably say 'go away and never talk to me again' or at least going back to the way they were before, right? Would he get mad at her? Is she being over sensitive again?
Ethan took her hand and held it between his palms. He kissed it, then stoked her wet cheek. He pulled her over to him and held her again. "We'll make it through this, together."
Her doubts vanished. Her feelings for him were confirmed at that moment. She looked up at him and he placed his hand on her cheek. As if part of a scripted scene in a movie, where out of the depths of tragedy comes a triumph, they said in perfect harmony to each other; "I love you."
Those three words, I love you, had the power that moment to make them feel invincible to any obstacle.
They embraced and Elise began crying again, this time for joy and healing.
"I'm going to cancel my arrangement." Ethan said, picking up his phone. "I don't want you to be alone, today."
Elise felt comforted and protected. Something she needed in this time of betrayal and secrets revealed.
After he cancelled his arrangement, he sent a text to his aunt:
Ethan: That meeting? Sooner as in MUCH sooner, is best.
A few hours later, mom and Aunt Eugenia returned from town. Ethan explained about him cancelling plans because his sister got in a fight with a friend and needed someone to rant to. His mom congratulated him for being a 'good brother' and not just rolling his eyes and leaving, like he used to do in the past.
Aunt Eugenia invited the siblings for Sunday brunch, saying that due to their schedules, she'll get to see less and less of them as they get more grown up. Their mom thought it was a great idea. She gave them big auntie hugs and left.
Elise's phone signalled a text.
Marie: Missed you at lunch. Kiana says you got real sick. You didn't miss much, she was crying about some home issue the whole time. Get better soon!
"Why didn't she rat me out?" Elise mumbled.
"What was that, dear?" Her mom asked.
"Oh, I just need to make a call." She said and headed up to her room.
"Sisters and their social lives." Ethan rolled his eyes, but really wanted to know if all was OK with Elise.
Elise closed the door to her room and filled with anxiety. She knew she had to make that call, but she didn't want to. She dialed.
"Hey..." Kiana said demurely.
"So, why didn't you rat me out?" Elise snapped sharper than she intended.
"I had no intention of doing that." Kiana replied indignantly. "Even if we're not friends any more, it's your business and no one else."
Elise paused, confused. "So why... why did you seem so disgusted when you found out?"
"Because it brought back a horrible memory for me. Something that.... I thought I had control of, but I guess I didn't."
Elise didn't know what to say, so she said nothing.
"You still there?"
"Yeah." Elise said calmly.
"All the years we've known each other, you've never asked my why I was raised by a single mother or why I don't date." Kiana said.
"A lot of kids at school had single parents. Mothers and fathers. As for you not dating, I thought, well, maybe you were gay. Especially when I told you in grade ten that my brother crushed on you and you just shrugged." Elise explained.
Kiana laughed. "Most of my friends think I'm gay or asexual, or broken. I guess I am broken, though."
"I don't know what to say?" Elise said with empathy.
"Well, I owe you an explanation for today. I only ask that you tell no one."
Ooh, a secret! Elise's interest was piqued. "Okay."
Kiana paused, then sighed. "I... I was raped when I was six. By my older brother."
Elise gasped. "I'm so sorry!"
"If that trauma wasn't enough, when my dad found out, he killed my brother with his bare hands. I was crying in my room, dealing with the pain and bleeding. Mom called an ambulance for me, but it hadn't arrived. I heard the fight, the arrogant, proud admission from my brother. Then gasping. I can't remember any more about that night. My next memory was testifying. Dad was acquitted for temporary insanity. But mom took me and left, divorcing him."
"Oh... my... gods." Elise said, feeling her pain.
"I want to find him. At least thank him for what he did to protect me, but mom gets angry if I ever bring it up."
"So when you saw that Ethan and I...." Elise was interrupted.
"I relived that all over again." Kiana said and began to cry. "Then you got mad, which you had a right to be, but you walked away and left me."
"I'm sorry." Elise said, now crying herself. "What can I do to help?"
"Come over tomorrow. I haven't talked about this with anyone since the elementary school councillor. I think I need to.... to finally start healing. Will you help me?"
"Yes, yes, I will." Elise said grateful she's been given such an opportunity. "I'll come over right after brunch with my aunt."
--
Ethan and Elise met their aunt for Sunday brunch at a restaurant attached to a hotel across town. Out of their way and a place they would not likely frequent. The patrons were mostly travellers, so it was the perfect place to have a conversation of discretion.
After eating, they ordered pie and coffee. While nibbling on their treats, Elise had some ice cream on her whiskers, looking quite amusing. Eugenia and Ethan chuckled.
"Here..." Ethan offered and wiped her affected whiskers.
"Thank you." Elise smiled. She took her napkin and wiped some crumbs from her brother's chin.
Eugenia sighed. "You two may not realize it, but you radiate signs of being a young couple in love."
"Oh?" Elise said, wiping the smiles off both siblings.
"I'm afraid it's not a matter of 'if' your parents find out, but 'when'." She leaned forward, "What are you two planning to do about it?"
Looking uncomfortably between each other, they were silent.
"The way I see it.." Aunt Eugenia said, "This will most likely end in hurt for one or both of you."
"How so?" Ethan asked.
"Well, if you two move out, disguising your relationship as independence, one of you will find your lifelong loves and the other will be hurt. If you stay home, I don't know what reaction your parents will have." Eugenia observed. "If you go your own ways now while your love is so new, both your hearts will be torn apart and you'll resent each other or worse, 'what if...' will always be in the back of your minds."
"Stuck between a rock and a hard place, huh?" Ethan said melancholic. "What do you suggest?"
"I'm not sure I can suggest anything." She said. "Brother and sister or not, first loves rarely last. All we can hope for is when it's over, you'll both still be friends. Maybe even with so much insight into each others hearts that you'll be closer friends than if this never happened."
Ethan smiled at Elise. He held her hand, then picked it up and kissed it. "I'd never want to see you hurt. I'll always be there for you."
"Oh, Ethan." She said and leaned over, kissing and hugging him. "I will never regret you being my first."
"Speaking of first.." Eugenia interrupted, "Am I right in assuming all this affair began to help you control your canine fires?"
Elise nodded shyly.
Eugenia sighed. "There's medical methods. Maybe this could have been avoided? Sterilized intravaginal sperm injections every few weeks is the most common."
"It's not... what I wanted, though." Elise replied. "I hear my friends who use it, discussing it. I decided a long time ago that the only sperm I wanted inside me was from someone I cared about." She smiled to Ethan, who gripped her hand lovingly.
"Well then, it seems at least you two have proceeded in a manner that's mutual, if not fully thought out." Eugenia finished her coffee. "Do take the time to discuss your next step. Normally I would say be damned what others think and say, but we need to be more cautious with family."
"I'm curious, auntie.." Ethan asked, "Why didn't you come down on us when you figured it out?"
She let out a loud squeak of a laugh that made others in the restaurant look over. "I come from quite a redneck family, my dears. Three boys and two girls. Two of my brothers had their first time with me and my sister."
"And the third?" Elise asked curiously.
Eugenia put her finger to her lips, indicating 'shhh', "Let's just say that one of our milking goats got much less shy around men."
They all laughed.
