Starfox: Breaking Up Is Hard To Do - Part 2
#3 of Starfox
Fox McCloud poured himself a cup of coffee as he yawned in his bathrobe. It was early morning and he was the only one up at the moment. Mixing in some cream and sugar in his coffee mug, he sat down on his recliner, ready to read the weekend paper.
Unfolding the paper, he flipped through the printed pages, searching for the sports section, when he felt something crawling up his lap. Looking down, he saw a small gray-furred muzzle poking through the bottom of his paper. Smiling, he lifted up the paper to see Wolf's son Will looking up at him with a smile.
"Morning, Daddy Foxie!" said the chipper pup.
"Good morning to you too, Will!" said Fox as he sat the paper to the side and picked up the little wolf and sat him on his lap.
"What do you have in your paws there, Will?"
Will proudly displayed two model starfighters to his second father. "It's a Arwing and a Woofen!"
Fox chuckled. He loved the way his other son pronounced Wolfen, the starfighter that Wolf had flown back in the days when the two of them were still bitter enemies. Wolf and Fox had small models of their old aircraft made for their boys to play with; without a doubt their favorite toys.
"When's Marcus gonna be here?" asked Will, his eyes slightly sad.
"He'll be here in a few hours, pup." said Wolf scratching the little wolf's ears.
"I don't like it when Marcus isn't here." said Will.
Fox sighed, as he gave Will a hug. "I don't either, Will."
Just then Wolf entered the room, also wearing a bathrobe and holding a coffee mug. Seeing his father, Will jumped down from Fox's recliner and ran over to Wolf, who tried not to spill his mug as the little wolf latched ahold of his legs.
"Daddy!" squeaked the wolf pup.
"Hey, careful there, son! I don't want to spill hot coffee on you!"
Will let go of his father, allowing Wolf to put his mug down on the coffee stand. Sitting down on the couch next to Fox's recliner, Wolf was treated to Will jumping in his lamp and licking his face. Will's antics made both Fox and Wolf laugh.
"Looks like someone's excited to see his Daddy, huh Wolf?"
"Yep," said Wolf as he ruffled his son's ears. "I think he's also looking forward to seeing his brother, aren't you, pup?"
Will howled excitedly at the mention of Marcus. The two pups were always playing together, and much to the amazement of their fathers, they never fought and were always willing to share their toys.
"He already had the Arwing and Wolfen out here looking for Marcus."
"Me and Marcus gonna fly real ones when we get big!" boasted the young Wolf.
"I don't doubt that at all," said Wolf to his boy. "It's in your blood, just like it's in Marcus' blood. Now, could you go play in your room for a while why Daddy Foxie and I talk?"
"Yes, Daddy!" said Will.
"Good pup," said Wolf as he put his son down on the floor, watching run off to his room.
"So, do you think Krystal will be any better this week?" asked Wolf.
"I don't know," said Fox, taking hold of his mug and sipping the hot coffee. "Maybe after my little warning last week, she'll behave herself."
"There's always hope," said Wolf.
"Hopefully it's not vain hope," retorted Fox.
"Oh, don't be so defeatist, Fox. It's not very becoming of you. Besides, why worry about something you can't control? If Krystal wants to act bitter for the rest of her life, that's her problem."
"Yeah," said Fox. "You're right."
"Aren't I always?" said Wolf smuggly.
"Smart-ass." growled Fox. "Now, how about you and I get dressed, and you can help me get this place cleaned up before Marcus gets here? God knows I don't need Krystal to start complaining about my housekeeping!"
Fox and Wolf managed to clean up the house just in time to hear the doorbell ring. Taking a deep breath, Fox made his way to the door. Taking a second to compose himself, he opened it.
"Hello, Krystal." he said calmly.
"Hello, Fox." said the vixen.
"Daddy!" yelled Marcus as he was scooped up into his father's arms.
"Hey there, boy!" said Fox hugging his son.
"Where's Will?" asked the excited pup.
Fox grinned. "He's in his room waiting for you to come play with him." Fox sat his son down, only to see him disappear into the living room as he ran towards his room.
Krystal laughed. "Will's all he's talked about this morning. I can see he certainly loves his brother."
Fox was stunned. Krystal had never before referred to Will as Marcus' brother, as she would not pay Fox and Wolf the courtesy of recognizing their relationship.
"You seem to be in a better mood today," observed Fox.
Krystal lowered her head. "Fox, I need to apologize to you for last week, well, I need to apologize for how I've been acting since we split up. It's not fair to you, and I don't Marcus to feel as though he's trapped in the middle."
The words seemed almost surreal to Fox McCloud. He had always hoped that Krystal would learn to accept her new situation, but thought the day would never come. Hearing Krystal apologize was music to his ears.
"Oh, Krystal," said Fox. "I accept your apology."
"Thank you, Fox," she replied.
"Would you like to come in?"
"Sure," she said, stepping into the house.
The two foxes walked into the living room, and again Fox was amazed when Krystal complimented him on how clean and organized the house was. Krystal sat down on the couch, and Fox sat down on his recliner.
"Something on your mind, Krystal?"
"Well," she said. "I wanted to let you know that I've been seeing someone."
"Really?" said Fox. "Are things getting serious between you two?"
"Yes," said Krystal. "We've gone out a few times while I had Marcus at the babysitter's, but I haven't introduced him to Marcus yet. I didn't think that would be appropriate yet."
"I appreciate that," said Fox.
Wolf entered the room. Noticing Krystal in the living room, he was reluctant to say anything, lest he offend the mercurial blue vixen.
"Hello, Wolf." said Krystal politely.
"Hello." said Wolf cautiously.
"Krystal was just telling me that she's been seeing someone." said Fox.
"Oh?" said Wolf.
"Yes, and I just wanted to ask you if you'd mind keeping Marcus this week."
Just when Fox thought things couldn't get even stranger, here was his ex-wife offering to let him have his son for an entire week!
"That would be wonderful, Krystal!" said Fox.
"Yeah," said Wolf, equally surprised at such a generous offer. "Will is going to be thrilled to have him for an entire week!"
"Excellent" said Krystal as she got up to leave. "I'll call you when I'm ready to pick Marcus back up."
"Good bye, Krystal, and good luck with your date." said Fox.
"Thank you, Fox."
The blue furred vixen left, leaving Fox and Wolf stunned.
"Wow," said Fox, scratching his head.
"I know," said Wolf. "I wasn't expecting that!"
"Yeah," said Fox, still trying to let it all sink in. "Um, I forgot to tell you earlier, I need to go to the store to get some diapers for the boys. We're almost out."
"I'll go," said Wolf.
"Really?" said Fox.
"Yeah, stay here and enjoy having Marcus around."
"Thanks, Wolf." said Fox, giving his husband a hug.
"I'll be back soon!" said Wolf.
Krystal was in bed, enjoying male companionship again. Her boyfriend had her on her back as he made love to her. The blue vixen wrapped her legs around him, wanting him to fuck her hard. Much to her disappointment, she felt the inside of her legs being filled with his warm seed. No sooner had he finished, when he got out of bed and collected his clothes.
"Oh, come on," beg Krystal. "Can't you stay for one more?"
"No," said her boyfriend as he slid his pants back on.
"You sure?" she said in a seductive tone.
"Krystal, I need to go to the store to get some diapers or Fox is going to be super pissed!"
