Chapter 13: Another Round
Twenty minutes after seven, my cab arrived and Amir was probably sleeping. Ray gave me a kiss, and told me that he's going to get under my tail much sooner than I think. The ride wasn't as long, I'm only thirty minutes away, but I told the driver a slinky siamese cat, to drop me off a few blocks short of my stop. I paid the fare and took a nice walk in the evening breeze, nice and cool. The wine and liquor store was closed but this bar was open, it looked clean and fairly decent. Gray countertop table made of polished wood and black bar stools with blue cushions. Checkered tile floor of cobalt blue and black. The server was a brown deer and wearing gray slacks, white pinstripe shirt and a gray vest to color clash with the environment. I think..... I saw a familiar figure in the back, playing pool with a short and stocky lion but had huge muscular frame in his arms and chest, guess he forgot the belly. Well he's somebody's sexy. I ignore them and sit to the bar stool and make my order. "How's it goin bud, what can I get you?" "Corona" "You got it" The TV on the corner was 24 inch flat screen and a game was on, looked like football from a distance. I sat there just me and my thoughts, thinking of the progress I made coming back to the city, after some serious convincing from my sister. Mimi and Clason are great to have around with an addition of Raymond, even better. I heard the clatter of beer bottles against wood on the pool table, which grabbed the deer's attention. "Stetson better take it easy you're already reached your cut off point" Stetson... oh shit not him again, fuck, fuck, fuck don't tell me he lives near me. Ok Alister ignore him, avoid contact, don't even look his way. It is hard to chill out when the hyena that been busting your balls about being gay is a few feet away. Some minutes later there were growls and grunts I believe are for me, I don't have ears like a fox but my hearing is still good. I try my best to keep it cool. A dark shadow appeared from my shoulder, a heavy stench of alcohol seeping through his fur, I turned slightly to get the hyena in my peripheral vision. "We just can't stop bumpin into each other huh?" "it's just coincidence is all" "Coincidence my ass, you following me or somethin" "No, just getting a drink before I go home" "Go home and get your tail worked on" "How about you go play with your boyfriend over there? He looks lonely" "Fuck you faggot" Stetson replies grabbing the collar of my shirt "HEY! HEY! No fighting. Stetson go home, have your buddy take you or I'll call a cab" screamed the bartender grabbing the attention of a couple more patrons in the bar. "No problem boss man, I was just leaving" said Stetson as he and his buddy left the bar. "Sorry about that, he gets a little stupid when he's buzzed" said the stag "No worries, I ran into him before" "Really?" "Yeah, we both work at the same school" "Ouch, again let me apologize for him" It was fifteen minutes later before, I began to leave, walking and only a block away from my apartment. I felt a hard strike to back of my head along with hearing a clunk. I dropped to my knees then fell to my back against the hard concrete, he must not be alone because I was being dragged into a dark alley by my footpaws by a short tan figure while the taller one walks along side, it was all I can manage with my hazy vision, plus my phone is going off, damn it I forgot to call Ray. "What's the matter someone already missin this puppy?" said the lion "Yeah probably his pussy cat friend" Stetson responded I kept my focus on the hyena making sure I don't receive any sneak attacks "What's wrong cat got your tongue? Or should I say leopard? I'm sure he's takin in more than just your tongue" "You need serious help, Stetson. why are you so angry and violent? Do you have that much hate inside you? That's not healthy. Did you not learn from being arrested for assault those couple of times" I say trying to understand him better. "Like you know me, been researching me huh? You into me or something?" "No, but you get off on hurting people" I say as the lion is now a few feet away but the hyena gets close to me kneeling at my side as I sat up only inches away from my muzzle. "Only people who aren't worth shit". The moment he blinked I head butted him and rose up to my knee in a crouching position and swept my foot to floor him. The lion charges to me as the hyena springs up but the moment he planted his feet on the ground I side kicked him to the chest, knocking him towards the lion, Now is my chance to run away but the coach was fast as two minutes later he caught up with me with the lion followed suit. Stetson tackled me and started to kick me in the ribs and stomach. "Leave him alone!" cried an unknown voice "Were not on school grounds now, homo..... who ya gonna call now?!" "FREEZE, against the wall....NOW!" said an officer patrolling the streets, a male bull accompanied by a female ram. "10-10 dispatch we got three perps, on the scene, gonna need another car for detainment" said the ram and the radio sounded like it said 10-4 The lion and hyena stood against the wall with the bull watching them until another car shows. while the ram told me to stay seated on the ground, I did what she was told and place a paw on my ribs. "Do we need to call a bus for you?" "It's good, he gave me a few shots to the gut but.... I think I can manage" "Wanna tell me what happened ?" "We were all in a bar, then he started talking shit about me, and then put his paws on me and the bartender told him to leave. I left fifteen minutes later, he struck me in the back of my head, dragged me to an alley and started beating me down" "LIAR he stole my wallet!" snapped the hyena "You're the liar, check his pockets his wallet is on him" "Shut it, were getting both your statements once we get you all down to the precinct". said the bull. The car came five minutes later to detain Stetson and his buddy, in handcuffs to my relief, while the ram and the bull took me separately. The car ride was cold and quiet, I thought it's best to stay that way and I think the officers knew that as well. We got there half past eight and they brought me into this room, where I had to empty my pockets and be interviewed by a slender female husky about my side in the fight, she also told me that there was a witness who saw me being attacked first before dragging me into the alley. Which also means they have enough evidence to charge him with assault. I wonder if that was the anonymous voice I heard earlier who told Stetson to stop, guess I had another guardian watching over me. "Is it okay...if I make a phone call?" I said in my most sincere soft voice I can ever make toward a female for the first time. "Sure you can, but just wrapping up do you wanna press charges on him?" "Does that also include a restraining order from him?" "We can work something out, but first let me get you that phone call" said the officer as she guided me to one of the desks and pressed a dial out number before letting me make the call, which of course is to my leopard. "Hello Raymond this is Alister" "WHERE ARE YOU?!" "I'm at the 32nd precinct on Blackberry street" "What are you doing there?" "I got into a little fight" "With the cab driver?" "No, I... I went to a bar and didn't realize it's the same one Stetson went to". "Ali you were suppose to go straight home" "I wanted a drink Ray". "I'm coming to get you right now" "No you better not leave, Amir's got school in the morning and you shouldn't...." "I'm picking you up Alister and you are going to come home with me, I'll take you to your apartment to pick up a few things and you are staying the night with me" "I... Uh" The feeling of warmth and blush flooded my muzzle so much that I looked around the room, to see if Stetson and the other guy was here, but they must be in another room. Instead it was me, the husky cop and the ram cop from the car ride. I tried hiding the butterflies in my stomach feeling, so I let Raymond speak. "I want you with me Alister" "Okay" I said softly, and like that our conversation is over and he is probably running mad to get to me, now the warmth went from my muzzle, to my stomach to now my groin, of all the places to choose to hard, a freaking police station, seriously. Maybe Raymond in a way is kinda like me, wants a serious relationship without any drama or anything. Their might be a few disagreements along the way, but still we'll pull through. That's what I love about the relationship we have, still I'm very punctual about the time and wish he didn't have to disturb Amir for this. In a way he might be either used to stuff like this, or he really doesn't mind, guess dealing with divorced parents give you experience points. My leopard arrives twenty minutes later and flashes his credentials gaining him access to where I'm at, still sitting at the desk. I felt a warm paw on my shoulder looking down to me was no one other than Raymond searching my eyes then scanning my body for wounds. "We offered to take your friend to the emergency room, for any determine any internal bleeding but he's okay" said the husky officer "Ok Mika thanks" said the leopard "Are you ok Alister? We can go as soon as you finish the statement" "Sure it would only take a minute" "Maybe now is the time to consider pressing charges on him" "Well, they have enough evidence on him plus the statement from the witness who saw the whole thing, plus I gave them info of the bar we was at and I'm sure the bartender can vouch for that, so we're good........ Can we leave now?" "Sure.... let's get outta here" Ray said with a grin, must be the perks of being in law enforcement. After a few more minutes of standard procedures for filing charges and junk, we finally left the station. I didn't see my attackers but...what am I saying it's best that way, Raymond took me to the apartment to grab a few things and then we went home, or rather, his home. We did not held up a long conversations, just a few words or so. Ray's probably thinking I'm traumatized by what happened earlier. When we got back to his place it was half past ten in the brisk cool evening. Ray went to check in on Amir, who's still snoring up a storm while I went in the bathroom to wash up and change into some lounge pants and a black tee, I opened the door when I was done in case someone else had to use it, just looking into the mirror, at the bandage on my neck and checking for any swelling, a tall shadowy figure appeared from my side and I looked into his eyes. "Ray I'm sorry, I should have did something about it earlier. I was trying to give him a chance let him know I'm not his enemy". "I understand but some people just don't learn, and have to see it the hard way". "Do you think I'm....... Weak?" "No... your not weak, you got heart, a passionate heart, whom wishes to do no harm towards others" "Some people can change.... Right?" "Yes that's true, but sometimes they don't, and Stetson had it coming for a while" "Never thought he would jump me in a dark alley" "People do unexpected things when they are furious or scarred, sometimes both" "Wish it didn't have to be this way" "Unfortunately it is, but you have to be strong, and overcome it. you may not have that much brawn but you have the brains". I looked back at him with a smile, letting his advice seep in through my brain, then felt a surge of exhaustion hit me. "Ok got any sheets for your couch there" "Who said you're sleeping on the couch?" "I...uh what about Amir, he's not gonna uh". "He knows we're together, he's really mature, plus I got a lock on my door " "But I.....think" "Shhhhhh... you think too much and you need your sleep" The leopard leaded me to his bed and we snuggled up on the king-size bed, I didn't know sleep would hit me that fast. Ray had his paws around my chest and stomach, spooning with me. We slept like that all the way through the morning, speaking of morning, hearing the voices of the leopards, probably saying bye to Amir as he leaves for school. Then I heard a door lock, followed by the feeling of a warm body, cuddling up and grinding against me, along with some kissing and other things. "Remember when I said I would get that tail sooner or later?" "Uh-huh" "Well now's the time" said Ray as we get intimate once again. Later I got myself together and headed out to the academy, while Ray got ready to head out himself. Ray told me that he'll swing by to pick me up later after I get off. Not sure as what his plans are but I get to spend time with him so doesn't matter. When I arrived I saw Rowan along the corridor, his ears perked when he caught sight of me. "Morning Mr. Kani mind seeing me at the end of the day?" "Sure, anything for you". "Great see you then, we'll have a little chat" "Ok" I responded as dryly as I could". Chat about what exactly... the fight maybe? Focus on that later anyway, time to teach my class in which they all beamed at the sight of me, was the substitute they had before was that boring? That a side it's time to teach, today was the art behind fur dye, using temporary color dye. Of course in which they create their own designs, with the supplies I picked up along the way. After the designs were done I photographed them with their names on the bottom of the paw. It went well and everyone was excited and having a good time. At the end of class everyone wiped their paws and started to head out. "Good to have you back Mr. Kani" said Greg patting me on the arm with a paint covered paw, spraying purple on my gray shirt. "I'm so .... so sorry let me clean that for you" said Gregg wetting his clean paw with his tongue. I jerked back quickly avoiding it. "It's okay, it's okay... go on you're going to be late for your next class" "Cool, see ya later". That was different, oh well time for the next group of cubs. Same procedure but different faces, and Amir seems to be more focused as well but he's giving me this smug look, a half smile and one raised brow. What is this cub planning, it's starting to make me wonder. I ignore the sly leopard and begin teaching but at the end of the class he's still giving me the look. When the class dispersed I baited Amir to see me. "Amir is things ok?" "Hehe, yeah why?" he says still holding his look "I know that's not how you look all the time, so spill what's up" "Boom chicka wow wow" he said now at full smile and chuckling, a few students perked their ears and did half turns as they headed out. "WH... WHAT, I ...UH Amir I should stuff your tail in your ....." "Sorry gotta go, good class Mr. Kani....... See ya" How the hell does that Leopard, know what me and his dad did, I'll choke out Ray if he discusses his sexual escapades with his own cub, you know what it doesn't matter, he's still young and happy. Much better than how he was before, I got to see Rowan later and see what he wants. An hour later, I walked towards the principal's office but see him coming out of the restroom wiping his paws with a paper towel. The tiger gestured me to follow him in which I did, his office were empty around the time, perfect. He sat on the edge of his desk while I remain standing I glanced into his eyes and he was the first to open up his muzzle. "Alister let me be the first to say I'm truly sorry for what Stetson has done to you" "He's a air headed jerk" "Well that air headed jerk won't be bothering you anymore" "As in.....?" I say in confusion "I decided to cut off Stetson, he's done here. I found out he was being charged for assault, through his lawyer that had to explain his absence for future court hearings. I said that Stetson can find another school to be a problem for. It hit him hard but maybe he will actually learn from his mistakes this time". "hHad to happen sooner or later" "I prefer it to happen sooner, before he hurts anyone else.....how are your injuries" "Still sore but I'll make it" "Glad to hear, I was hoping this incident would make you leave the academy, you're a great teacher and highly favorable among the students". "I like it here and I have no intention of leaving" Just like that our conversation came to a close, we shook paws and went our separate ways, it was the end of the day and I got a text from Ray telling me that he will pick me up in fifteen minutes. My leopard pull up just in time as I waited outside in the cool breeze, threw my stuff in the back seat and hopped in. "So wolfy how was your day?" "Great, it went really well" "Oh yeah, how so?". "I chatted with Rowan and he got rid of Stetson". "Really, no shit" "For real, put my mind at ease" "I'm happy for you, hey Amir is going to be with his friend for the day and then he's going back with his mom, so what you want to do tonight?". "Anything as long as it is with you".
