The rumble of my Bikes engine is a welcome feeling as I wait for Andy.
I have been sitting here for ten minutes now and still no sign of him, It's hard to miss him on his bike anyway. We have been talking on the phone for a week now and our parents let us go camping till tomorrow in the woods. We were very careful when we planned this, though it seems we will be late.
I sighed and shut off my bike,shifting from side to side. A good twenty minutes in and I heard the sound that noted his presence, the low rumble of his bikes engine as he came down the road, stopping in front of me.
"About time you showed up Andy." I said with a hint of annoyance.
He tossed his hands in the air playfully. "You caught me officer."
I laughed and jumped off my bike, hugging him. "Ready?"
"Hell yeah!" He said proudly,revving his bike loudly as I started mine.
"Off we go!" I yelled over the noise as we started off down the road, turning onto a trail.
For the next hour we went along twist and turns,up and down hills, and Andy tried a wheelie but almost crashed. It was nearly night when we stopped to camp in a clearing. Andy hopped off his bike and untied the tent as I unpacked the supplies from off my back and started a fire. We finished nearly the same time and sat near the fire, laughing and sharing stories. After a while we both quieted down as it got colder and Andy brought a blanket for me. I refused and he shrugged, placing it on himself.
I quickly slid myself over to him, draping half the blanket onto me. I snuggled against him and I could hear the beat of his heart. But I noticed something, His heartbeat was quickening the longer I stayed close to him. I looked up at him and to my surprise he was blushing hard enough I could see it through his fur. He glanced down at me and I swear I heard a whimper from him. I don't know what took over but I leaned up and kissed him, pushing us both to the ground gently. I held this kiss for a while before he broke it and asked " Dan, what if your parents find out that you are gay?"
I layed there, shocked and confused as i didn't know the answer. My parents where known anti-gay and would disown me for it, I shrugged off the question with a simple "Don't care anymore"
He looked me in the eye, "you should care."
I replied, "why should I?"
"They are you're parents Dan"
"They don't act like it, dad never sees me and my mother is in jail, my grandmother only cares about her jeep so I am always left alone, then I am blamed for being sad and lonely. My father always yells at me because of my grades but never even tries to help me." tears welled up in my eyes and I buried myself into Andy's chest.
He held me tight and I soon stopped crying and he kissed me softly.
"Shhh." he pulled the blanket over us and I soon fell asleep.
