Recruitment: Marie the Specialist (Part 2)
"Come on we have got to move. Now," Rob ushered her to
follow, taking her firmly by the paw towards the front door."Wait! I need to pack!" She protests tugging her arm away
from his strong grip.He sighs and looks at her with sympathy, "I understand that
it wasn't easy for you to make this decision so quickly but in order to make a
clean break you must leave everything behind. It must look as if you have just
dropped off the face of the earth.""Can I at least bring my mother's crucifix?""Have people seen you wearing it?""Why do you ask?""Answer my question, truthfully.""No. Nobody has seen it. I only use it for my nightly
prayers. I keep it under my pillow."He pauses with concern but takes her word for it, "Okay
then. I only ask because if people have seen you wearing it and it isn't on the
inventory when they investigate this place they will know you fled instead of
just disappearing. Grab it and let's go."Marie rushes into her bedroom and slides her hand under her
pillow, picking up the shiny silver crucifix with the symbol of the holy
trinity engraved in the centre. She takes a moment to look at it with
repentance. She hugs it softly against her heart and whispers in prayer,
"forgive me father for I have sinned. I have lied to the man whom you have sent
to lead me to salvation. I know my selfish act to hold onto the only thing I
treasure in your world may put me at risk but I just can't leave something my
mother has treasured so. Please forgive me of my sins. Jean of Arc, give me
strength, Blessed Virgin Mary, smile down on me, Michael watch over me... and this
good man I am following." At least I hope
he is a good man. The clouded leopardess leaves Albi with the polar bear. He
smuggles her out of the community in the back seat of his range rover concealed
only by a beige blanket. He couldn't stress how important it is that she leaves
unseen, especially with the polar bear. She stays under the blanket for what
seems like hours. She peeks out every so often to see if the sun had started to
set, eventually it does. When the day began to dim it was then he finally stops
the car."Okay we are here," he announces stepping outside."Thank god. I need to get to the ladies room quick.""I am afraid that is going to be a problem.""What?" she pulls the blanket off her and takes a look
around. He had stopped in the middle of nowhere. There was nothing but green
fields as far as the eye could see. "You are joking!" she shouts with a
displeased tone, "Where in the name of God are we?""About several miles from where we need to be. We have to
ditch the range rover and make the rest of the trip on foot.""And where exactly do we need to be?""A private airstrip. How else did you think we were getting
out of the country?""You could have warned me so I could use the ladies room
before we set off on our journey!""Just go right here then.""I won't pee in a field!""I thought you were a soldier? Didn't think you would be so
self-conscious about peeing outdoors," Rob replies failing to hide his amused
look."I am a French mademoiselle. We pride ourselves on modesty,"
she says as she licks the back of her paw and rubs it on her fuzzy cheek.Rob approaches her with an overbearing poise. From his
immediate look she thought that he was about to kiss her. A powerful blush runs
into her cheeks. Suddenly he reaches down and tears half her skirt away with
one swipe leaving most of her long skinny spotted legs bare. Her tail was also
able to move freely."Why did you do that?!" she reacts trying to shield herself
away in case her lace underwear showed."That dress is not suited for this terrain soldier. Now man
up, take a piss and act like you have got a pair!"She bears her teeth slightly in anger however her cheeks did
not change their colour. She did as she was instructed and squatted behind the
other side of the car to conduct her business. I should have torn his throat out for speaking to me like that. But
when he torn off my dress, oh my god. Why did I get so turned on by that? They make the rest of their journey of foot. The sun has
finished its round and night had arrived. Every so often Marie looked to the
stars and smiled, this feeling of adventure seems to have made the world a
little more gorgeous. As she followed Rob she watched the polar bear stride
ahead so confidently, as if he knew his purpose and didn't falter from it.
However between her looks of admiration she found herself staring overlong at
his firm derriere. When she starts to wonder how he had managed to build up so
much muscle in his gluteus she shakes her lustful thoughts and adds it to the
sin bin for her nightly prayers of forgiveness. The lights of the airstrip came into view after climbing a
pretty steep hill. A large private jumbo jet sits alone at the nearest end
ready for take-off."Please tell me there is a decent ladies room on that
thing."Rob chuckles, "Yes, with a Jacuzzi tub.""Oh yes," she smiles with a deep satisfied purr.Suddenly a phone is heard ringing from the bear. He looks at
it and answers, "Cameron. We are in sight of the aircraft we will..." it sounds
like the bear had been suddenly interrupted. Some worrying shouts could be
overheard on the phone. "... alright how long? Okay get ready to take off as soon
as the door closes," he hangs up and throws the phone away, "Shit! They know
we're here. Run!""What?" she yells in confusion. Her whiskers standing on end
reacting to the sudden alarm the white bear had just been put under."We have five minutes to get to that plane!" he takes off ahead
of her, striding through the field towards the plane with haste. She quickly joins the rush trying to keep pace with her
bulkier partner. Even with her combat ready body at its fittest she struggled
to stay at his side. He certainly had a greater physical capacity than she
could ever hope to achieve.Just as they touched the concrete strip Marie picks up the
sound of sirens at the tip of her long feline ears, "They must be just over a
mile away!"The jet engines of the plane kick to life, overshadowing the
sound of authority closing in.It was Rob's hope that they could take off by the time their
foe's arrived however a grey hummer crashes through the fenced main entrance to
the strip with tremendous ferocity heading for the plane."Get inside! We can't let them see you! I will keep them
busy!" Rob screams pointing to the open door of their escape."What?!""Do as I say soldier!" He orders, splitting off from Marie
and heading to the front of the plane drawing his desert eagle. He knew full
well that if that vehicle ploughed into the wheels of that plane it would be
game over. He needed to stop it.He takes his mark in front of the wheel of the plane facing
the oncoming beastly car. He raises his gun and aims carefully. Taking strong
deep breaths he points at the driver's side. He fires and hits his target but
the bullet fails to penetrate the glass. It merely causes the glasses to crack
slightly."Shit. Maybe if I shoot the glass enough times it will
shatter."He fires again three more times but fails to achieve his
intention. The glass still held strong. The distance between the hummer and Rob
was closing fast. In another twenty seconds he would be dead.He continues to fire until all the only bullet left is the
one in the chamber. He takes careful aim. Praying that this shot would make the
kill.He fires, the glass doesn't break but suddenly he sees an
explosion of blood from within the oncoming car, covering the windscreen from
the inside. The car goes careers off its course and tumbles off to the side and
on its hood.Rob looks at the overturned vehicle stunned, wondering what
the hell just happened. "I'm sorry. I decided to disobey your order," he hears
Marie talk from behind him."Marie?""The Driver side window was open. I sent your bullet through
it."Rob remained speechless for the most part. He almost
couldn't believe what he just saw. He didn't even see the bullet change
direction, just the blood suddenly coating the windshield. How could she have
done something like that so quickly?"No time to talk. Let's just get inside and go!"The two mammals rush to the plane and slam the heavy door
closed as they enter, "Cameron, get us out of here!" Rob yells. The only reply was a sudden kick of movement as the plane is
put into full throttle. The sudden force sent Marie toppling over into Robert
causing them both to hit the floor. They stayed grounded until the plane took
off and levelled out comfortably."I'm sorry," Marie says as she climbs to her feet.Rob pulls himself up in turn, "It's okay. These things
happen. I should be apologizing to you. I probably made you feel more secure
than you actually were. I took a huge risk coming to France just to recruit
you."Marie takes a good look around the interior and drops her
jaw in amazement. This wasn't a plane, it is a five star penthouse hotel room
with wings, beautifully decorate in cream colours. There is a cosy lounge with
leather seating, a fully stocked bar, dining area, and enough room to hold a
solid party if you wanted to."Where did you get this aeroplane?" she asks in awe."Unfortunately I had to give a favour to the fat cat that
owns it.""Wait. Won't the air force come after us?""It's possible they will follow us until they reach their
legal air space but they wouldn't dare shoot us down.""Why?""As long as this plane remains airborne it is protected by
diplomatic means.""Immunity?""Yes. Didn't you notice how desperate they were to stop us
from taking off? As soon as we left French soil we became untouchable.""How did you gain diplomatic immunity?"Rob responds with a sly grunted cackle, "I don't have it.
The plane has it. At least... until they figure out the registration is fake
which will take them at least three hours. We will be far out of their reach by
then.""That's good... I guess..." she replied in lowered tone as the
realisation of the whole situation sets in. Her mind wanders all over the
place, jumping from question to question. What am I doing? Why am I here? Will
I ever be able to go back? Is it too late?"Where is the restroom?" she asks."You can use my en suite, first door on the left through the
bedroom," he points then slumps onto the couch placing his gun gently on the
arm, "Make yourself at home. Take this opportunity to unwind and forget about
everything... even just for a moment..."
His wisdom is taken graciously as she leaves his company.
The clouded leopard's mind filled with doubt and uncertainty. She couldn't
quite put her finger on it but this man she had decided to run away with, this
polar bear, gave her an opportunity for a new purpose. A new destiny.
