So yup, foreword of Child of the Sands. Co-authored by Khaesho Scorpent. :D
Backstory :
So this story, Child of the Sands, started out as a random bit of RP that sprung up between myself and Khaesho Scorpent. We ended up teasing each other in comments, and then this fun naughty little RP sprung up in notes. It was a good bit of enjoyment, and we ended up banding together after the initial naughtiness was over with and rigging up a proper plot line and story. (Most of this is paraphrased from his own posting of the book.) And let me assure you, it is a book. With over half a million words, and countless pages. Yeah, definitely novel/serialized material.
Summary :
What do you do when you hear rumors of a giant demon snake terrorizing your little mountain get away? You go exploring for it of course. At least that's what Shouyousei ("Call me Shou.") Murasaki did. The nature preserve on the edge of town boasts of a beautiful mountaintop vista and a plethora of caves to go exploring in. It's these caves that hide a secret, a naga from the vast deserts to the west has taken up residence in the mountain. Wrapped in mystery and intrigue how could Shou turn down the chance to explore the cave and this strange other being? Simple, she couldn't! So when she meets Khaesho Scorpent, she waltzed her way deeper into the cavern and inextricably into his life. A whirlwind romance takes the pair into the very depths of their souls, into the unexplored reaches of their spirits as they come to terms with the fact that yes - love can strike so quickly.
However it becomes quickly apparent that the Naga she had just taken for a lover hadn't been exiled alone. A whole bundle of complications arrive when she meets the reason Khaesho got exiled.

So, this story is co-authored with my good friend Khaesho Scorpent. Kaesh and I have a lot of fun with this, and he originally posted this up on his page.
