Out of his Depth

A short story I wrote at the request of a friend. I've never tried out vore before, so hopefully it turned out all right. As always feedback and comments are always welcome!

Walking through the muck and mud of a swamp was always an unpleasant matter, but for a kobold that didn't even measure three feet in height, it was an utterly dreadful ordeal. Dizi grumbled to himself as he practically swam through the filthy swamp, making his way towards the nearby lizardfolk campsite, and trying his absolute best not to drown in the disgusting quagmire.

After what seemed like hours of wading through mud and bug filled water, Dizi finally pulled himself onto a muddy bank, and flopped onto his back, utterly exhausted. He knew he was in the right spot; he could see smoke rising into the air from a well-known clearing nearby, where a small tribe of lizardfolk had taken up residence recently.

Normally the kobolds of Dizi's clan would have nothing to do with the filthy vermin that dared mock the kobold race with their superior height, but this was a special occasion. One of the lizardfolk had recently decided that stealing from the almighty black dragon of the swamp, was a good idea - turns out that stealing from a large and ill-tempered dragon is in fact, the opposite of a good idea.

The only saving grace for the lizardfolk was the black dragons' supreme and legendary laziness; he refused to even leave his cave for less than one hundred gold pieces, but he still could not let thievery go unpunished, lest his reputation suffer. Luckily for the dragon, he had an army of submissive kobold worshippers who would consider it an honour to go wading through a swamp, just to recover the shiny red bloodstone that the lizardfolk had stolen from him.

In truth a bloodstone was barely worth fifty gold, but still, it was the principle of the matter! If one lizardfolk had enough guts to steal from a dragon horde, and if word were to spread about it, soon a whole party of over-levelled adventurers would come storming into the dragons' lair! And that certainly wouldn't do.

So the kobolds had drawn straws, and much to tribes' disappointment, Dizi had been the one to draw the longest straw, granting him the honour of retrieving the dragons' property. Although Dizi had initially been overjoyed to be serving his dragon overlord, his joy had quickly turned to boredom, then irritation, as he was forced to slog through bug infested swamps, following along after the stinking tracks of the lizardfolk.

It had been an awful journey, but finally he was nearly there! Dizi took a short rest before venturing on, which gave him plenty of time to dry the bog water from his scales with his prestidigitation trick (a novice spell that even a terrible sorcerer like Dizi had managed to pick up). Once he was relatively dry again, and smelling like his usual kobold-y self, Dizi gathered his tiny rucksack, and ventured onwards, his feet squelching into the dirt as he trod towards the lizardfolk campsite.

He approached stealthily, poking his head out from a prickly bush, and glancing around to check out the area. A small fire was burning in the middle of the camp, granting some much needed warmth to the dreary clearing. Much to the kobolds surprise however, there were no tents or sleeping bags around the clearing, only one relatively small hut, with a single pair of lizardfolk tracks leading up to it.

Dizi frowned, and scanned the clearing again just to make sure his eyes weren't playing tricks on him. It was just a single lizardfolk that made off with his dragon lords jewel? Maybe the rest of them were all out hunting...but no, there were no other tracks around the campsite, save the lone ones leading up to the hut.

Dizi grinned toothily, and rubbed his tiny scaled claws together and he snuck out from the bush, and slowly squelched his way over to the hut. This was going to be easier than he had though! He'd snatch the jewel back, make a run for it, and then go home to be praised by his tribe, and maybe even get a rare grunt of approval from his dragon!

But before he could retrieve the bloodstone, he first had to make sure that nothing was lying in wait inside the hut. Luckily there was a small window around the right side, perfect for peeking inside! Dizi scrambled up to the window with some difficulty, but managed to get his little claws in the rough wood of the huts wall, to prop himself up.

Dizi poked his nose in the glassless window, and glanced inside curiously. It wasn't much to write home about; a tiny dirty hut with only a few pieces of furniture inside. A large lizardfolk sized bed, roughly 9 feet tall that took up most of the hut. There were two shelves that held an assortment of strange looking potions and ingredients, and a small tucked away cauldron beside the bed. There was also a roughly carved table and a single chair, likely where the lizardfolk ate his meals, and hanging above the table was a small cage, that looked like it was used for storing chickens, or some sort of dire rat.

But there was no lizardfolk inside the hut, and Dizi grinned wickedly with delight. He flopped back down onto the huts veranda, and scurried around to the door. He had to jump up quite high to get his hands on the door, but luckily for him his weight pulled down on the handle, and the door swung open with a soft creak.

Dizi wrinkled his nose as he stepped inside, and growled softly. "Stinky lizardfolk..." he grumbled to himself, unaccustomed to smelling the unwashed scent of the larger lizards.

He didn't have much time to dwell on the scent, as he needed to find the jewel before the lizardfolk returned to their hut. The little kobold wiggled his tail, and began darting around the hut, trying to find the shiny stone that was worth so much to his dragon (and so little to any merchant in their right mind).

Dizi climbed up onto the table to search the shelves, pushing aside strange potions and containers of animal parts in a vain attempt to find it.

"Drat, not here..." the kobold hissed, smacking his tiny hand against the shelf, which caused the bottles and jars to rattle noisily.

The kobold glanced down at the only remaining place it could be, and wrinkled his nose in disgust. He hopped down off the table, and with a deep breath began to rummage through the lizardfolks bed. By the dragon it stunk! It smelt like unwashed lizardfolk, and it was an assault on the kobolds finely nuanced nostrils. Although he did gleam some valuable information from the stink; the thief was definitely a male.

Dizi began to grow more and more frustrated as he sifted through the straw that lined the lizardfolks bed. He even reached into his feather filled pillow, tearing it apart in his efforts to find the gem.

Finally, the kobold had no choice but to accept a very upsetting fact; the lizardfolk still had the gem on him.

Dizi rubbed his chin thoughtfully, trying to think up an ingenious plan to reclaim the bloodstone. Maybe he could lie in wait underneath the lizardfolks bed, and steal the gem while he slept? Or he could ambush him when he came back from wherever he had gone, or maybe -

Whatever the kobold was about to think, his thoughts were suddenly thrown into chaos, as his body ceased responding to his commands. His eyes flung about wildly, as he tried to move his arms and legs, but he couldn't! He couldn't even wiggle his fingers or toes! What was going on?!

"I knew that alarm spell was a good idea," a cunning voice behind him hissed, causing Dizi to mentally scream in fear, as he couldn't do it physically, "Once you stepped foot in my camp, I knew you were here."

Large heavy footsteps approached from behind him, and the kobold suddenly found himself spinning in place, like a life-like statue. His world turned into a blur for a moment, before his eyes came to a stop staring at the large feet of a lizardfolk.

Someone the kobold managed to let out a squeak of fear as his eyes travelled upwards, staring at the seven foot tall reptile, who was dressed in nothing but a loincloth, and carrying a sack full of magical components, some of which he had just used to cast whatever spell was now binding Dizi.

The lizardfolk was covered in leaf green scales, which lightened to a creamier shade on his belly, and the bottom of his hands and feet. He had a large heavy muzzle, filled with rows of sharp teeth, and a flicking, slimy tongue. Above his muzzle laid two yellow eyes, which stared down at the kobold with wicked amusement. The lizard man was also quite muscled, but still looked rather well fed.

The lizardfolk acted quickly, as even on such a weak creature like the kobold, his spell wouldn't last long. He drew a strand of rope from underneath his bed, and began cutting it to length with a small knife. He then slipped the robes around the kobolds arms and legs (which he quite roughly pulled into place), and lifted the kobold up into the cage above his dinner table, before locking the door with a laugh.

"And three, two, one..." the lizard muttered, watching the kobold with a toothy grin.

As the lizard finished speaking, Dizi finally felt strength returning to his limbs. Not that it would do him much good; his wrists were tightly bound together, as were his shins, and even if that weren't the case, he had no idea how to pick the lock on the tiny cage.

"H-hey listen, I wasn't doing anything!" he pleaded, holding his bound hands up in front of himself, and making a subservient motion towards the lizard folk, "Just let me go, okay? I'll never come back, I swear!"

The lizardfolk licked his lips, flashing his sharp teeth at the kobold, and sunk down onto his bed. "Don't lie to me little lizard," he snapped, clicking his fingers and causing a painful shock to radiate through the kobolds body, making him squeak in pained fear.

"I know exactly why you're here," the lizard man said with a cackle, as he withdrew a red and black gem from his pouch, and flashed it before the trapped kobolds eyes.

"Funny how much a bauble like this is worth," the lizard muttered, delighting at the wide-eyed stare the kobold had affixed the gem with, "At a human market you may get a few gold coins...but to me, it's worth so much more!"

"It isn't yours!" the kobold hissed back, risking another painful shock, if it meant he might put this thief in his place, "It belongs to the great black dragon of the swamp!"

This time the lizardfolk didn't shock the poor kobold, merely lifting the gem tantalising close to the cages bars, taunting the trapped lizard with it.

"Of course it does, and dragons are loathe to lose their property...but they care so much less about their subjects," he hissed, putting on a mock-pout as he observed the kobold trying to grasp the gem.

The kobold hissed and growled, and kicked his tiny legs against the bars of his cage.

"Even if you kill me, more of my kin will come!" he yapped, rolling about feebly as his tiny claws battered the iron lock of his prison.

"Oh, I'm counting on it!" the lizard folk laughed, placing the gem away into his pouch for safe keeping.

"More of your kin will keep coming, and they'll continue to fail, over and over again," the lizard said, propping his large feet up on the table, and gentle kicking the cage with his toes, sending it swinging back and forth.

Dizi hissed in discomfort, and gripped tightly onto the bars so he wouldn't slide around the cage as the lizardfolk rocked it side to side.

"S-Stop that!" he hissed, staring daggers at the strange lizard folk magician, "You won't get away with this!"

"Oh please! Besides your dragon, I'm the most powerful being in this entire swamp," the lizard cackled, twirling the cage to the side, causing the kobold to twirl in a clockwise motion.

"It doesn't matter how many of you kobolds come to get the gem back, you'll all fall victim to my magic!" he cackled, sitting up from his bed, and beginning to roam about the hut.

The cage finally came to a stop, and Dizi was afraid he might hurl all over himself. When his vision finally stopped spinning, he settled his eyes on the lizardfolk, curious to see what he was up to.

The lizardfolk poured two small stacks of powder into his open palm, from jars on his shelf. He then stepped over to the cage, and held out the dust in front of the kobolds face.

"Say 'ah'!" the lizard said, before he let loose a mighty puff of air, and sent the powder blowing into Dizi's face.

The kobold recoiled, and immediately began to rub his eyes and nose, to try and get the dust away from him.

"What did you - ACHOO - do with - ACHOO - that dust?!" the kobold shrieked, sneezing in between words as the dust swirled inside his nostrils.

With his eyes shut the kobold didn't see what the lizard man saw, a sight that caused him to cackle in delight. With every sneeze the kobold was losing height - not just height, but width and weight as well, he was shrinking!

The kobold had already started off small compared to the lizardfolk, but by the time the spell had ended Dizi was positively diminutive! He was small enough to fit comfortably in the palm of the lizards' hand!

When the kobold finally recovered from his sneezing fit, he wiped his nose, and opened his eyes. Seeing the now much larger face of the lizard man in front of him caused him to scream in fright, and topple backwards onto his tail.

His bindings had fallen off when he had shrunk, but that wasn't much consolation to the now tiny reptile.

"What'd you do to me?!" the kobold shrieked, causing the lizard folk to laugh at how high pitched his voice had become.

"I shrunk you, obviously," the lizard man said with a chuckle, unlocked the cage and reaching in a large hand to grab the kobold.

Dizi yelled out in fright as the monolithic hand slowly descended upon him. He scrambled to his feet and tried to run, but quickly stopped when he got to the edge of the cage, noticing how high the drop to the table had become. His moment of indecision gave the lizardfolk enough time to pluck Dizi up by his tail, and the kobold screamed out fearfully as he was pulled into the air.

His stomach turned as he was flipped up onto the lizards' palm, being manipulated like he was some sort of rag doll. From his place on the lizardfolks hand, Dizi got a pretty good look at his row of sharp teeth, and suddenly he had a very good idea of what the magician had in store for him.

"L-listen up, you!" Dizi shouted, wobbling to his feet and pointing a tiny claw up at the magician, "You had better let me go, or my dragon will come eat you!"

The lizard folk let out a breath of air through his nostrils, that nearly bowled Dizi off his feet.

"The only thing doing any eating around here will be me, tiny kobold!" he said with a cackle, jostling Dizi up and down as he laughed.

"Besides, even if your dragon ever comes, it'll be long after I've headed far deeper into the swamp...no, you're not getting out of this, little man," he hissed, his long slimy tongue flicking out across his lips in anticipation.

Dizi was suddenly lifted upwards towards the lizardfolks open mouth, feeling his hot putrid breath wash over him and seeing globs of drool dripping from the roof of his reptilian mouth. The kobold cried out in fear, and dropped onto his legs, pleading with the giant.

"Please don't eat me! I'll do anything! I'll bring you gold, jewels, other kobolds! Anything!" he begged, staring down at his shaking knees as he clasped his hands out in front of himself.

The lizards hand stopped moving, and a deep thoughtful rumble echoed up from the lizards throat.

"Well, I suppose it would be rather cruel to gobble you up without even giving you a chance..." he muttered, scratching his chin with a sharp claw.

Suddenly Dizi was shooting downwards, causing his stomach to spin as if he were falling. Luckily he wasn't being dropped, just lowered to the dirty hut floor. The lizardfolk pushed him to the ground with a single finger, and peered down at the tiny kobold with a smirk.

"Here's how this is going to go, kobold: Please me like you would your dragon, and I won't devour you!" he stated simply, tapping his large right foot against the hut, causing Dizi to shake from the vibrations.

"Uh...like my dragon?" Dizi repeated, staring up at the face of the giant lizard folk, who towered above him. "I mean um, like bring you gold?"

The lizardfolk chuckled, and suddenly pushed his foot forward, toppling the kobold over onto his back, and pushing him down into the wooden floor.

"Please me!" the lizard demanded, squeezing the sole of his leathery foot down against the kobolds chest, forcing the breath from Dizi's lungs, while his toes pinned the kobolds head between them.

"Okay, okay!" Dizi screamed compliantly, struggling to breath beneath the lizards' giant foot.

The kobold looked at the foot pressing him to the ground, and groaned softly. He had done plenty of demeaning things in the service of his dragon, but never anything like this! If anything other than his life were on the line, he would tell the lizard folk exactly what he thought of him...but nothing could be worse than getting gobbled up by the giant!

Dizi turned his head to the side slowly, wrinkling his nose up as he placed a reluctant kiss against the side of the reptiles toe. The taste was certainly nothing to write home about, and he realised just how little the lizard folk must wash himself. He wanted to retch, but his submissive kobold instincts bade him to continue.

He placed several more kisses against the lizards' toes, while his pinned hands did their best to rub the big sole that still pinned him to the floor. Luckily, his efforts did seem to be making the lizard folk happy, as the pressure on his chest had lessened.

"You kobolds certainly are a pathetic race," the lizard folk muttered, slowly lifting his foot, and placing it in front of Dizi, rather than on him, "Keep going. You're starting to make me reconsider eating you!"

Dizi breathed in a large gulp of air as the heavy foot slid off him, but he wasn't quite out of the woods yet. The kobold rose to his shaking feet slowly, staring at the giant foot in front of him. It was as tall as he had become - taller in fact! With a groan of dismay Dizi stepped forward, and began to place more gentle kisses against the surprisingly soft sole of the lizard, while his little claws massaged and scratched his scales.

Dizi continued his devotion for several silent minutes, punctuated only by the sound of the lizardman chuckling, or grunting in pleasure. Every second that ticked by was torturous for the kobold, as he constantly feared that the lizardman would scoop him up and devour him. The lizardman knew this of course, and derived an immense amount of satisfaction from watching the kobold squirm.

Eventually, when Dizi's mouth and fingers felt like they could kiss and rub no more, the lizardman mercifully pulled his foot away, and reached down to pick up the tired out kobold by his tail.

"That was very good, little one. I can see why your dragon keeps so many of you around!" the lizardman said with an appreciative smirk.

Dizi didn't fight his captor, merely letting himself dangle by his tail as he gazed hopefully at the giant lizard.

"So...you'll let me go?" he chirped hopefully, clasping his hands out in front of him suppliantly.

The lizard chuckled, and wagged a claw in front of the tiny reptile. "Of course not! I was just lying to see how much you'd demean yourself!"

Dizi's eyes and mouth flew open, and he quickly began to babble anything he could think of to try and change the lizardmans mind.

"Really, it's your own fault! If you hadn't have broken into my hut I would have found dinner, but now it's far too late to catch anything...so you'll have to do!" he said with an evil cackle.

In one swift motion the lizardman lifted the kobold to his lips, and pushed his head straight inside, suckling on him greedily like Dizi was a fine delicacy. The kobold was screaming in terror from being inside the lizardfolks mouth, staring up at rows of sharp teeth, and the flailing tongue that slithered across his face.

Luckily for him (kind of) the lizardfolk had no intention of chewing the poor little kobold. Unluckily for him, that didn't mean he wasn't going to end up in the lizards belly either way.

Even with the kobolds reduced size, it would still take some effort to swallow him down, but the lizardfolk was a patient creature. He spread out on the bed, straightening out his head and neck as he lifted the kobold further into the air, letting gravity assist his feeding as he slurped his lips across the kobolds neck.

Dizi's world was one of darkness and moisture as the lizard sucked him in further, the giants lips going past his shoulders with a greedily gobbling and gulping. The kobold could scarcely believe this was happening to him; sure, he'd always suspected he would be eaten by his dragon one day, but never once had he thought a lizardman would get the best of him!

There was nothing he could do; struggle as he might, the lizard was far stronger than he could ever hope to be! Even as his little fists pushed against the lizardfolks lips, the colossus was already beginning to work more of the kobold into his mouth, slurping him up like a delicious reptilian noodle.

Still, Dizi reasoned that it wasn't such a terrible way to go. Hell, it beat getting slaughtered by murder crazy adventurers, or getting hit by his dragons' acidic breath. At least this way he was serving a bigger reptile, something he had been trained to do all his life. As Dizi thought about that fact, he even began to smile a little. Yeah, it wasn't so bad! Even if he was just reasoning with himself in a fit of delusion, at least he was going out while trying to serve his dragon, like any good kobold should.

The lizardfolk was having more simpler thoughts, as his lips engulfed the kobolds groin, and began to suck in the little reptiles kicking feet and swishing tail. He was so glad he had thought up this plan; even after Dizi was gone, more kobolds would come looking for the gem, and he'd have plenty more meals like this one. Sure eventually they would stop searching, but it was going to be great while it lasted!

Dizi felt more of himself being pulled into the lizardfolks mouth, and he was suddenly faced with the very back of the reptiles' giant throat. Seeing that gaping maw up close was terrifying to the kobold, but also strangely exciting. He imagined it was his dragons' throat, hungry and greedy, giving him the honour of becoming a lunch time snack. The rationalising little kobold couldn't help smiling at the thought.

The lizardfolk was nearly done bringing the kobold into his mouth; only Dizi's feet were poking outside of his wet lips now. The lizardfolk grinned wickedly, and flicked his moist tongue across the kobolds soles, making the reptile in his mouth giggle from the sensation.

Dizi didn't have long to enjoy it though, as the lizardfolk snapped his jaw back, and sucked the last of the kobold into his mouth. It was a tight fit, and Dizi was tightly compressed against the back of his captors' throat, feeling the wet walls around him, and breathing in the scent of the lizardfolks breath.

"Bye, bye, little kobold!" the lizardfolk mumbled, his words barely audible due to the immense meal in his mouth.

With a few powerful gulps, the lizardfolk gobbled the kobold up, sending him sliding down his throat. Down, down Dizi went, grunting in exertion as the walls of the lizards throat closed in around him, forcing him down deeper and deeper, until finally he came to an opening, and slid out into a strange chamber.

The Lizardfolk smacked his lips together in delight, and slowly lay down on his bed, as he watched the progress of the kobold sliding down his gullet, until his belly was swelling out in front of him from the presence of his prey.

Dizi's eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness of his new prison, and he suddenly knew what the inside of a lizardfolks stomach looked like. He felt like he should do something; beat against the squishy walls of the tummy, or scream out for mercy, but he didn't. Dizi just curled his tail around his legs, and rested his head against the warm interior of the lizardman, breathing softly from the slowly diminishing air, as he came to terms with his fate.

He could feel the lizardfolks heartbeat all around him, and he rose and fell slowly in time with his captors breathing. It was almost relaxing, in a very strange way. Dizi didn't even notice when the digestive slimes began to cover him, slowly turning him into a proper meal for the lizard. Dizi closed his eyes and huffed softly, and wondered how many more of his kin would come searching. Maybe someday the lizardfolk would grow so large from the kobolds that he'd even be able to match his dragons' strength. The thought made Dizi giggle softly.

The lizardman sighed contently, rubbing his bulging belly as he felt his meal gradually digesting, filling him up with delicious kobold. He abruptly let out a large belch, and licked his lips contently. The little kobold had certainly been a fantastic meal, and he couldn't wait to add several more pounds to his hips, when the kobolds kin came looking for him.
