this is just a story idea, I had to make an explanation on how the portal was made because "things " just don't appear and portals require a lot of energy to make... this is the first chapter, the second will get into the "new planet" AKA Tal

Novaya Zemlya in the artic Bering sea, is where the Russians demonstrated there nuclear strength, by testing bombs of ever increasing power... October 30th 1961, they pushed the limits of explosive power further than they have ever gone, or probably will ever go again... This bomb was code named Tzar, it contained the equivalent of 58,000,000 tons of TNT or all the explosives in WWII multiplied by a factor of 10. The Tzar was to be their master piece. 6 camera crew were picked to film this unique moment in history. The pilots of the Tu-95 were hand picked, they have been warned that their safety could not be guarantied, they could avoid being blinded by the light but being knocked out of the sky was quite certain. The exact moment of release was controlled from the ground, the bomb was givin a parachute to slow its descent, giving more time for the crew to escape.... 60 seconds after release a flash of white and a tremendous explosion, the plume rose shot right through the cloud layer and kept on rising, the cloud flattened out when it was 40 miles high, the earth directly below it was seared with the intense heat, rock was turned to ash, the blast was so large that it was strong enough to be measured it 3rd passage around the world, as for the crew they did escape but only just...
The leading general of the operation Kirillovich Sapalyov surveys the area. Kirillovich Sapalyov, his Geiger counter goes off he puts on his radiation mask with his suit already on, the Hind-24 lands, he Gets off his Hind-24 walks over to the scientist (In radiation suits as well)and their equipment near the portal.
Kirillovich Sapalyov: (astonished)what have we done comrades?
Vladan Zakharovich: Hmmm... the Tzar bomba had a slight mishap. It seems that we have created a trans-dimensional portal as a result. This planet similar to that of earths, its a habitable planet sir....
Krilillovich: Good, have this place cleaned up from all this fallout, and report back to me later... Meanwhile I'm off to alert the Kremlin of our findings.
Vladan: will be done sir (they both salutes)
Krilillovich hoists himself on to the helicopter and it flies away....
Later Krilillovich arrives at Moscow... and meets up with Nikita Khrushchev.
Krilillovich: Operation: Tzar had unexpected results, as it turns out we have created a portal to another world, that is habitable...
Nikita Khrushchev: Prepare to make first contact, we must hide this from the world though... But I will give you a whole army... but DO NOT wipe out the indigenous population, only use what is necessary to set up a base of operations and guard that portal!, this is an opportunity and I don't want to miss it... And remember don't fail me....
Krilillovich: Yes I will not fail you sir.(Salutes and heads off eager to start...)
6 hrs later after decontaminating the whole area, Vladan hears helicopters coming and sees tanks come rolling over the hills, along with transports and some artillery....
Krilillovich hops off the landed hind-24 (in uniform) and walks toward Vladan.
Krilillovich: Prepare yourself because in the next few minutes comrade... we meet the indigenous...
Krilillovich: (stands atop a t-80 tank to speak to his massed army) to day comrades we enter that portal!
The Crowd cheers and the vehicles roar to life and charge into the portal,
