College Fresh Meat 2 - Chapter I
Spraying his hung
up polo shirt dangling from a cabinet handle, Jordan brushed out the wrinkles
from his one-size-too-small mentorship uniform. The polyester absorbed every
mist as his hands swiped down the material. The student lounge was empty, the
only lights on in the whole area were in the student government cubicle where
Jordan and Caine prepared for the new student orientation today."What makes you
think I can't?" he squeaked.Caine, a grey
husky, scoffed as he finished binding the freshmen welcoming flyers with a
rubber band. He kept his eyes fixed on aligning the papers as he tapped them on
the desk."You're too..." Caine carefully searched for his
words before getting interrupted."Charming?""Cocky?"Jordan returned
the scoff, craning back his neck in disbelief. "I know you are.""Oh, please,"
Caine sassed. He let out a chuckle and tilted his head towards Jordan's exposed
back. "Are you flexing right now with your shirtless body standing a foot away
from me?"Jordan bit his
bottom lip as he silently relaxed, letting out the hot air he'd been holding in
to puff out his chest and keep his abs creasing the white patches of fur. He did
take pride in his lupine genes, with his strong hourglass physique. Instantly
catching his breath, Jordan spun around to present himself, put his hands on
his waistline and forced a nonchalant "No".Caine let out a
comical sigh. "Yeah." He pushed away from the desk, taking a rubber band with
him as the chair rolled back against the metal cabinets. "It's okay, though," Caine continued right before
shooting the rubber band at Jordan's left nipple, which made Jordan flinch
and let out a weak groan. "Those muscles can win anyone over."Jordan rubbed the
sensation away from his chest. "Hey!" he whined with a frown. "I can be
charming.""Like a snake
charmer." Caine joked. "The only thing you can do is serenade people into your
pants."With a gasp Jordan
sprayed a few shots of water at Caine, with the husky immediately guarding his
face with the flyers. "Hey! If you ruin these, you're running new prints!"
Caine scolded with a giggle as he peeked around the papers."It's all I'm good
for, isn't it?" Jordan retorted and forced a chuckle, with slight genuine
offence in his voice.Caine forced his
own chuckle. "Oh, come off it, Jay."Putting down the
spray bottle on the desk with a thud, Jordan's tone sounded more desperate.
"Really, though, what makes you think I'm not charming?"Caine took notice
of the wolf's change in voice and twitched his head in thought. "Maybe not the
word to use.""Was I not
charming enough for your taste?" Jordan asked quickly and coldly.Caine's face
crinkled. "Jordan..." he said blankly."Hey, come on!
You're perfect, you would know how a perfect guy should be like."Caine let out an
involuntary chuckle, but immediately shook his head in apology. Jordan felt his
face tingle with embarrassment, the recollection making his throat tighten."Sorry," Jordan
quickly spurt out to avoid an awkward silence."You're fine."But the awkward
silence came. Jordan pursed his lips and peered down at his bare torso. He
desperately occupied himself during the dead air by smoothing out the fur that
rumpled under the waistband of his jeans. His eyes couldn't help but glance up
at Caine, who he saw was leaning back in the chair, watching his fingers swiping
left and right of his V-cut."Jay...?" Caine finally
spoke over the wind of the air conditioning. The bare Jordan
said nothing and resorted to biting his bottom lip again as he turned around to
grab his polo shirt off the hanger. Flapping out the damp shirt, he routinely
fit his arms through the sleeves. He obviously struggled to fit his first bicep,
which encouraged him to flex, stretching out the material. Before he could try
for the other sleeve, he felt hands grip his shoulders, making him tense up."All right," Caine
began, his voice bouncy to counteract the mood. "Let's make a little game."Jordan always
liked a good competition, and Caine knew that. He gave Jordan's shoulders a
light shake. "Let's see who can score first."Jordan tilted his head,
his eyebrows scrunching together. "What do you mean?" Caine chuckled. "Come
on, you know what kind of game this is! If you can get a guy by the end of
today, you're much more charming than I thought you were."Jordan felt a
smile creep across his face, his shoulder muscles flexing against the warm
husky hands. He could never pass up anything to impress Caine, his man crush
since the day they've met. This is my
chance, Jordan thought to himself."You're on,"
Jordan growled.Caine released the
wolf's thick shoulders and began helping him with the other sleeve. Jordan
eventually found himself turned around again, facing Caine with only his broad
chest and crisp abdomen displaying right before the husky's eyes. The bunched
up material kept his arms flaring out, which caught Caine's attention."Shit," the husky let
out. "I think I might just lose against your tiny shirt. Cheater."Jordan laughed,
making his pectorals dance for Caine a few times. Just before he could gather
himself and pull down his uniform, he could feel the warm hands on his chest
now. He gave a quick look up at Caine, watching the husky's eyes gazing at his
chest. The soft ocean blue eyes darting left and right, as if hypnotised.
Jordan breathed in slowly, his chest puffing out once again to accompany the
husky's exploring hands. He was just about to bring up his own hands to hold
Caine's when the warmth slid away and began loosening the bunched material."We should get
going," Caine spoke quickly. "We gotta finish setting up!" The husky clumsily
shoved Jordan's tight uniform down, the wrinkles disappearing against the
strain of the wolf's muscles.***Jordan and Caine
were in mentor mode; their fob of keys clanged against their nametags as they
walked, their heavy black boots tapping, not dragging, against the pavement.
Coming out of the student lounge and stepping into the sea of reality made the
intimate moment in the cubicle a silent recollection as crowds of people rushed
around the campus. Caine and Jordan took turns stapling the flyers on
billboards and taping them against glass windows and noticeable pillars. The
noise was familiar, with students laughing and squealing as they met up their
friends. As they strolled around the campus and watched the college newbies,
the two occasionally exchanged jokes about when they used to be freshmen, almost
disgusted by how they acted similarly just a couple of years ago."You'd think more
people would be less excited to be back in school," Caine scoffed.Jordan let out a
loud sigh of pity. "They'll learn the truth soon enough."The bulk of the
flyers had dwindled finally, and it became difficult for Caine and Jordan to
find places to display the remaining flyers. The frantic meandering was
interrupted when Caine received a phone call."Hello?" Caine
answered, plugging his other ear to hear against an obnoxious group of female
squirrels sitting on a long bench just across from them."Hey, Janet! What's
up?" he greeted, a smile naturally appearing on his face. Jordan immediately
nodded at the name. Janet was the mentorship supervisor of the college, a gorgeous
white rabbit with a bubbly personality. Even when Jordan wasn't the one in the
call, just hearing her name put a smile on his face as well. Jordan continued
to stare at Caine, whose face was acknowledging and twisting as he listened."Yeah, we just
finished. I'll be there in just a bit. Okay. Bye!" Caine hung up and turned his
attention to the wolf."Jan needs help
finishing the setup for the speakers," he explained. "You think you can take
care of the last of these?"Caine had already
pushed the flyers towards Jordan. He had no choice but to accept. The
orientation was about to start soon. "Yeah, no problem.""Great, see you
there!" Caine quickly replied as he struggled to put his phone in his back
pocket. Jordan watched Caine jog away until he disappeared around the corner,
uncaring to his standing alone in the seemingly endless crowds of freshmen. He
eventually snapped out of it when a squeaky voice called out to him."'Scuse me?" the
voice said. Turning around, he saw that it was one of the squirrels Caine
wanted to drown out earlier. The squirrel was obviously
trying to look sexy, pushing up her small butt with her miniskirt puffing out.
Her tail wasn't fit through the tail seam, which showed off her rump. Her
mobile phone jingled with a small acorn keychain."My friend was
wondering how old you are." Her voice was even more annoying up close, which made
Jordan tense up. He drew his attention towards the only other group of
squirrels in the area, seeing the only squirrel covering her face in
embarrassment, with the rest of her squad doing a terrible job at acting
natural."Too old for you,
sweetheart," Jordan teased her with a much deeper voice, adding a subtle yet booming
chuckle through his nose as the cherry on top. The tiny squirrel went from
confident to bashful, her little round ears drooping behind her head."O-okay," the squirrel
struggled to answer as she peeled herself out of Jordan's view to go back to
her group. Jordan rolled his eyes, overhearing another high-pitched voice curse
all her friends, followed by an awful giggle fit from several other squirrels. He refocussed his
attention to completing his task, although making sure to keep his back to the
girls, and made his way towards the entrance of the campus. He found the
decorated sawhorses facing the entrance, with only a blown up picture of the school
map for anyone to peruse it. It was a perfect spot, he thought. Seeing there
were a perfect number of flyers left, he took one flyer to each sawhorse,
taping them neatly on the upper left corner of the display. He sighed with
relief as he had just one more sheet to get rid of, this time giving up on making
it look nice. Rubbing against the tape to secure the flyer, he felt a heavy
thump hit his back."Whoa, hey!" he
growled, annoyed thinking he needed to scare more young squirrels. He twisted his torso
to look over his shoulder, only seeing a brownish-red furry forehead."S-sorry!" a
little voice stammered. Jordan watched the little guy finish rubbing his face,
revealing himself as a short fox, although with a look of terror on his face.
The soft features made Jordan smirk. So
adorable!"No worries,
little man!" he said plainly as he turned around completely. The scared little fox
made him chuckle to himself. He watched the fox's eyes, which was darting left
and right at his chest. The eyes were focussed on the left side, which had the
college logo stitched on his polo shirt.Trying to snap the
fox out of his silence, Jordan extended out his hand, low enough for the short
fox to grab it. "Good morning, little man.""Oh," he heard the
fox spit out. "Good morning!"Jordan wrinkled
his forehead. He jiggled his fingertips to make the little brown fur ball look
down. It worked somehow."Oh!" the fox said
again. "Good morning!" Jordan finally felt the handshake complete. It was an awkward gesture.
He let the fox do the shaking, which he observed was robotic and rhythmic. He's so scared, Jordan teased. The weirdness began to grow on him, so he decided
to speak. "Where're you headed?""Oh, I'm--" the fox
tried to answer. "I'm headed to the orientation."Duh, Jordan thought. Before he could
respond, the fox spoke again."Do you know where
the cafeteria is?"Ignoring the huge
map of the school on the sawhorse behind him, he put his hands on his hips. "Of
course, little man. In fact, I'm one of the leaders of the mentorship program
here."He watched the
surprise flash onto the fox's face. Whether it was genuine or not, he took pride
in his answer."I can take you
there if you'd like," Jordan continued."Oh! Yes, that'd
be great!"The cute fox
adjusted his backpack. "I'm Kai, by the way!"Cute face, cute name! "Jordan," he answered
giddily. "Nice to meet you, little Kai!"As Jordan led Kai
the fox up the campus, dodging the somehow endless number of students, he
couldn't help himself glancing back. It wasn't to make sure Kai was behind him,
because the loud dragging of his footsteps were a good indication, but he
wanted to get a good look at the young man's face. The first time, he saw bubbly
cheeks; the next he saw almond-shaped eyes; and the last time he saw beautiful hazel
irises complementing his fur...which were glued staring at his butt. The cafeteria finally
came into view. Jordan jogged forward to grab the door to the entrance, briefly
acknowledging the cacophony inside with a wince. Turning around, he now had all
the excuses in the world to stare at the fox's face."Go on in and we'll
start the orientation soon, okay?" he informed Kai."Sure. Thank you!"
the fox answered.With the whole
time admiring Kai's features, Jordan almost forgot about the little challenge between
him and Caine. He put his wit to the test. Charm,
he commanded himself hastily. He panicked and flopped
his hand on Kai's shoulder just before he walked through the door. He leaned in
close to the fox's ear. "You'll love me as your mentor, little man," he
whispered, using his deep lupine growl.Kai tilted his
head away from the wolf's muzzle with wide eyes. Jordan felt his face flush and
quickly slipped his hand off Kai's shoulder. He let the door go, forcing the
fox to scuttle forward into the cafeteria, the noise quickly silencing again as
it shut.He let out a sigh.
"That was smooth, idiot."
