Jillian sat up slowly. She was warm all over. Shaky, ill at her stomach. She was sweating heavily. "C..carl." she managed to say. The Polar bear rolled over, seeing her like this he nodded softly. Reaching off the side of the bed he picked up a case. Sitting up he turned on the bedside lamp. The came was small, metal, the kind used by ambulances to handle dangerous medications. The bear opened the case. Inside was several blue vials, labeled with the amount of fluid inside them, as well as a dosing gun. The bear picked up one of the vials, loaded it and turned to the wolfess.
Carl gently pressed the needle into her arm gently and gave the trigger a squeeze. There was a hiss as the gun worked, delivering the medication into her. After he made sure the med was in her, he set the gun in the case and set the whole thing aside. Pulling her close, he just held her as she shook and clung to his arms. She was weak. The disease was taking its toll on her. The medication was helping stabilize her. But it was not curing her. And the danger of giving her a larger dose was something she was not willing to risk. Her body was weakened due to modern living. What it boiled down too, was that with the evolution of all animals, some were dealt a bad hand. Weakened immune systems, bone disorders, gland diseases. Things they once used to hunting or evasion were no longer needed. This left them with issues resulting form the lack of use. Jillian had always had muscular issues. She was weakened from birth. Her brother had been the larger pup, taking up most of the space and resources in the womb. But from there it was just worse. Jillian had had to have a walker until she was 12. And even then, she was on crutches until she left home. Coming here, the doctors under the employ of her bosses derived a treatment. The Night Howler plant was dangerous, but it also had certain benefits. It told the brain to reactivate many things evolution had turned off. For Jillian, this meant her muscles received the proper chemical signals that allowed her to move and function as an evolved mammal.
She had come to rely on the medication heavily. She was only given small doses. Each dose only lasted 48 hours. She always kept the dose gun close to her. Carl had come to understand her illness. And did not let it alter his opinion of her. What was more was that he made sure she stayed on her schedule. He knew the side effects. She was one step above feral. Just inches away from going totally berserk at any moment. As her shaking stopped and she began to relax again, Carl slowly released her. Helping the exhausted wolfess to lay down, he kept one of his massive arms around her. She pressed back against him. "You hungry?" he asked softly. She nodded gently.
Carl reached behind himself, fumbling on the bedside table for his cell. Pulling it forward, he scrolled his contacts. "What you want love?" he asked softly. She turned to him slowly and hugged closer. "mmm... don't care. Just make it spicy and a lot of it." He smiled as he pat her back. hitting the dial button he made the call. Ordering from a local place, he put it on his tab. They already knew the address well. When it arrived he went to get it. Bringing it to the living room and setting it down on the coffee table. As she sat to join him, he found the remote. Tuning in, he found something for them to watch as they ate. Jillian sighed softly, leaning against his body as she ate. He smiled and gently pat her hip. "You know if we keep this up, you will get pregnant." She shrugged, "Well if I do, I do. I don't give a shit what anyone thinks." He smirked. "Well the boss might. He may make a big deal out of it. You know, full on party. Invite the others, might get to see John." She snickered. "Oh please, he thinks I'm feral." "You did bite a chunk out of his left cheek love." "He was asking for it. He copped a feel." Carl chuckled softly and leaned back, letting her lay her head on his thigh as they ate.
After they finished eating She stretched and stood up. "Wanna shower?" He smiled, "Sure hun." Walking with her to the bathroom, he watched her start the water. he stretched and let his back pop a couple times. "So, what's with the custom order?" "My brother isn't interested in the crime rings. He is specifically after me. I managed to bug his partner and listened in on their conversation. They put some pressure on one of the boys to get the bosses to put me on the case." The polar bear scratched his head. "Ok... but what's with the long range dart gun and the special call for the Night Howler stuff?" "I gave him 24 hours. If he stays past that time limit, I plan on overdosing myself and I want you to hit him with the regular stuff while he is in front of me. Let us go at it. Then use the gun to hit me with the antidote."
Carl gripped her shoulder softly. "You can't do that. you could die." She looked up at him and smiled. "That is why I am trusting you with this. Make sure He can't get the edge up on me. When you hit him with the dart. Make sure it hits him where it will hurt even after he goes savage. Right in the nose if you can. I want him hurting like he hurt me. So when I tear him apart he will die knowing the same pain I grew up with." Carl gently cupped her cheek. "Baby girl... I know he hurt you. But you can't fight him like that. Even with your medication, you know he is much stronger. Let me handle him ok? Me and the boys can pay him a visit. We got his address. We can just stop in and see if he feels like going for some coffee." She leaned her face into his huge hand.
She could feel the tremble in his paw pads. He was scared of losing her. "Alright love. You and the boys rough him up. Bring him to the office. I will be there after we leave here. Don't kill him. But a few broken bones should be alright. Oh and don't use the limo. Go in the vans." He nodded softly. Scooping her up in his arms he carried her into the shower.
Two hours later, Jillian sat in her office. She watched the TV as she waited. She knew this was going to be one of THOSE times where the riot gun under her desk would be useful. She was brought out of her thoughts by the sound of the door opening. The first on in was the moose. He had a bloodied nose. He was glaring at her, but he knew better than to try something stupid. Then came Carl. He had the moose by the shoulder. Then James. James was now sporting a black eye and a split lip. He was also ruffled and his shirt had several rips in it. He was calm, but one could see the boiling rage inside him. He was furious. Not only that he was caught unprepared, but that he had been roughed up and brought here like some common thug.
"You seem angry brother. I wonder, did you forget that I gave you 24 hours? That expired several hours ago." As she stood she brought the riot gun out and pumped it. "Solid rubber rounds. They won't kill. But you will think they can." She turned the gun on the moose and let loose a round between his legs. He collapsed, letting out a loud wail. Curling up into a ball as he sputtered and coughed. "Hold him down please Carl." The polar Bear put his foot on the moose. Just enough pressure to keep him there. "Please don't move. If you do I have to push down and break your ribs.
James glared at Carl, but turned his eyes back on Jillian. "So I guess you are a total loss." She set the gun down, "Loss? To you maybe. See I was hoping to just stay away. That you would take the hint and leave me alone. You know... Like a real brother would have. But like your typical self you decided to show you big your balls are." James growled, but didn't move. "Ooohhh such a cute poppy. Making play growls. Oh wait... I'm sorry. That's your line. Is that not how you always spoke to me?" James' face softened some. "I was a bastard. I know that. I came out here looking to bring you home before dad kicks the bucket you know. After that you could have come back and done whatever you pleased." "Maybe a phone call would have sufficed better James. See, my family here is always going to be first in my life. My fiance Carl here has made sure I have the best medical treatment around. I don't even need crutches anymore. Bob and Dillan there always bring a lot of food to the party and my bosses, they lavish me with anything I want. They cared for me when no one else did. Maybe they are getting something in return... but they never once treated me like I was a commodity. You are going home James, Either in a wheelchair or a box. The choice is yours. You can choose right now, or in five minutes I will choose for you. Either way, you will go home."
Carl cracked his knuckles. As he shifted his weight, the moose swung up and hit Carl in the leg with an antler. Carl roared out and stumbled back. The moose jumped up and screamed as Jillian's claws found his eyes. He dropped to his knees and screamed. "Scream all you want, the walls are sound proof. No one is going to hear you." Carl stood up, rubbing his leg. "He's got spunk." He came over and back handed the moose across the back of his head. As the moose hit the floor crying, James struggled to get away from the two Polar bears holding him. "You bitch!!! He has a family!!" "Had. Carl, when we are done here, call the boss and see if we can pay this ass hat's wife and kids a visit." "NOO!!!" James screamed, he was crying. "Jillian! there is nothing I ever did to you that is worth this! If you want my life take it, but stop this! He isn't involved." Jillian turned to him slowly, "He got involved when you both decided to stalk me. I heard your plans sweety. I had you both bugged. I listened in and knew every time you mentioned me. You wonder why you couldn't find me since the cafe? Because I was on to you."
Returning to her desk she opened a drawer and pulled out a pad and pen. "Alright. Here is what I will do. Moosefuck here gets to live, he retires and moves out of Tundra Town. He takes up a job doing something else. You will go home to father, tell him you got hurt in the line of duty and I told you to tell the whole town to fuck off. You never return to Zootopia. Both of you will keep silent for the rest of your lives, and never even think about this place, this day, and this hour. Am I clear?" The moose nodded hurriedly. Carl picked him up, "Come on. To the hospital you fucking twat." Once Carl and the moose were gone, Jillian stood and walked to James. "Turn him around." The polar bears whirled him around. "Bend." "The fuck are you doing Jillian!?" "You were offered a deal. What is your answer?" "Oh fuck this!" No sooner had those words left his mouth than Jillian brought her elbow down on his lower spine hard. He screamed and tried to drop but the bears held him up. "Last chance. Next one will break your back. And I plan on aiming high enough that it kills you. Deal or no deal?"
James panted hard, whining as he struggled to catch his breath. That blow had hurt. It stunned his nerves. And worst of all he had to pick which was the lesser of two evils. "Alright... Alright I'll go home." "Good boy." she cooed. Than brought her elbow down again. This time hard enough that the sickening crunch could be heard. James screamed at the top of his lungs in agony as his lower back was broken. His legs and tail instantly went limp. Jillian moved to her desk. Taking out a tranquilizer gun she loaded it up and came behind him. "I'm going to put you asleep until they drop you off at the hospital. You stay there until you are released. You make sure your partner remembers his bargain. And you better remember too. Because we will be watching. And if you don't leave Zootopia when you are released, I swear to god you will know a level of pain that will make this agony you are in now feel like a sweet memory of heaven. Now... .nightie night." She put the barrel to his back and pulled the trigger. He was out in moments.
Jillian returned to her desk and sat. "Take him away boys. Make sure not to rough him up too much on the way there. Too much damage and he will die." The nodded and moved out the door. Once alone, Jillian put her paws on her face. She began to sob softly. What kind of monster had she become?
