Pete was enjoying himself on his side of the beach, another routine, quiet, and sunny day like today. Beachgoers swam on the clean side, while he diligently explored his trash-strewn side, which he had long ago claimed as "Pete's Beach." He constantly patrolled, searching for exotic objects to consume whole. His belly swayed in front of him, bloated with the variety of indigestible objects he had accumulated over years of constant consumption. Its surface was covered in bulges, stretched by each object it contained. If you looked closely, you could get an idea of the number and shape of each object filling his belly, imagine what was inside, try to guess from the shape of the bulge it projected. Everything swayed and shifted with every step he took; some objects disappeared inside the dome, while others emerged, pressing against the surface from within, pushing through the folds and different layers of skin to project their straight and rounded shapes onto the others. He also occasionally belched a cloud of colorless gas with a very distinctive smell, like sulfur mixed with burnt plastic, byproducts of all the chemical reactions occurring inside. His digestive system was constantly changing, trying to achieve the impossible: digesting that chaos. but it would only get more chaotic --- On the other side of his beach, already outside his perimeter, he could see several people doing something different. It seemed strange to him since they weren't swimming in the sea as usual. They had shovels and were scooping up sand with them. It seemed they were digging a hole in the sand, but why? What was so interesting down there? Just sand and more sand, kilometers and kilometers stretching to infinity, Pete thought to himself. Even so, he watched them from a distance until one of them went into the hole and pulled out an object Pete had never seen before. It was something elongated, light brown like the sand, but it wasn't made of sand. It was solid, round, and judging by how much trouble the guy was having pulling it out, it was also heavy. It looked like a chest. What could it contain? Pete began to approach, trying not to draw too much attention, his gaze fixed on the mysterious object. He walked with long, deliberate strides, having to suppress his gastric eruptions to be more stealthy. This caused his stomach to rumble as he tried to contain and redirect the trapped air—"I don't think I can hold it in for much longer." The humans were surrounding the chest, talking amongst themselves and laughing. One of them raised his voice, and everyone else turned to look at him. Pete couldn't understand what they were saying, but they seemed cheerful. Suddenly, the group moved away from the area and headed toward the parking lot. What were they doing? Why had they left the chest there unprotected? His stomach was making increasingly loud gurgling and other wet, guttural noises, and now the gas had found its way to an emergency exit behind him. But Pete kept his grip tight, not letting anything escape. ggrluooorgl... He waited until the humans had finished retreating. Pete didn't waste any time taking advantage of the golden opportunity that had just presented itself. Noticing that there was no one nearby, he prepared to make one last approach, and halfway there he let out the fetid air that was trapped inside him in the form of a burp and a fart that lasted for at least 5 seconds before coming to an end. --- Pete stood motionless, watching it. His mind, that mind that only understood the world through hunger and volume, processed the discovery. The temptation was immediate and visceral: to swallow it. Imagining the chest descending his esophagus, forcing the walls of his stomach beyond their limits, was a fantasy that quickened his pulse. He felt a spasm of anticipation in his gut. However, a rare flash of pragmatism stopped him. "It was too much," he thought. Even his expansive biology had a breaking point... for now. He approached the lock. There was a rusty padlock preventing it from opening. It was closed, but the rust had weakened it to the point that... perhaps A plan formed in his mind, and he went straight to action. He searched for a solid object nearby, this time not to swallow it, but to use as a tool. "Perhaps a rock will do, but there aren't any," he thought. He ended up with a lime-green glass bottle, possibly from an alcoholic beverage consumed by some careless beachgoer who frequented the shore. It was solid enough to be part of his plan. As he held it by the neck, he resisted the urge to swallow it and, with renewed determination, approached the rusty padlock and smashed it with all his might. The bottle held, not shattering as he had anticipated, and the padlock gave way. Once open, all that remained was to turn it and remove it from the way, finally opening the chest and observing its contents for the first time. A golden gleam dazzled Pete's eyes. There were emeralds, rubies, amethysts, and other stones he couldn't identify, all carefully cut and polished. There were countless coins gleaming gold in the sunlight and clear sky, of varying sizes and shapes. He could also make out some elongated, shimmering gold shapes that looked like gold ingots. Pete stood speechless, observing and analyzing the contents of the chest, plotting his next move. --- "let's see how much of this can i cram inside my stomach" grrOOOOOoollllrggrglglrglrglgrll A loud, wet gurgle emerged from deep within his belly, gently shaking its surface, perhaps preparing for whatever was coming. He buried his head, beak open as wide as possible, and grabbed as many objects as he could. Closing his beak, he caught some stones and a few dozen gold coins, which he promptly swallowed. The lump stretched his neck as it made its way down his belly, until a series of splashes indicated it had reached its destination. Pete was absorbed by the sensations. A shiver ran down his spine as he felt the weight of what he had swallowed join the other objects inside him, but he only wanted more. We were just getting started. He stuck his head back into the chest and repeated the process, swallowing harder now, increasing the pace with each repetition, even not waiting for everything to reach his stomach before swallowing again. After a particularly large stone, he got stuck at the base of his neck—ow—it seemed the stone and a few coins had piled up perfectly to obstruct Pete's esophagus. But this wasn't the first time this had happened to Pete, nor the second, nor the third; he'd actually lost count, and he always managed to resolve it in rather ingenious ways. "Time for the grand prize," he said. From inside the chest, he took a gold ingot by one end. It was heavy and large, but he managed to position it while stretching his beak beyond the limits of biology. The ingot slowly made its way down his esophagus, stretching its path noticeably. From the outside, it looked like a boa constrictor eating an elongated egg. As the opposite end disappeared inside his beak, his esophagus struggled to contain this new intrusion. Almost the entire length of his neck was perfectly straight and pointed upwards; gravity was helping. Pete had experience swallowing things like this. It felt incredible to Pete to have such a dense mass of metal sinking deeper and deeper inside him, knowing he wouldn't see the sun for a good while. The blockage couldn't withstand the impact of 12 kg of precious metal in motion. It didn't even stand a chance, clearing the way completely. The ingot finally finished entering his beak and disappeared from sight, with only a portion of it still on its way to Pete's overloaded stomach. shklhslkhshhkhs Pete's stomach had been fairly calm up until now, but with that new, heavy addition, everything inside him took a turn. The bar forced its way into Pete's stomach, through all the semi-digested plastic and cloth objects, and also through most of the coins that had been accumulating at the bottom. Although it wasn't a sharp thud, he could clearly feel it settling inside him. grloooorghglgl Pete loved the feeling of another addition inside him, another pressure, another weight. His belly hung a little lower, with an elongated bulge pressing against the lower area, buried among hundreds of gold coins. But he was nowhere near finished; he'd only consumed about a third of the treasure. He wouldn't leave without finishing it completely—but the humans could return at any moment. So he doubled down, swallowing coins and shiny things twice as fast as before, losing all track of time and space, to the point where his throat and neck began to ache from such exertion. But he didn't stop, he didn't even think about giving up. His belly began to grow noisier and heavier as it filled more and more. The coins clattered as they fell on top of each other, each ingot taking up space at the bottom and being buried by more coins that, at this point, already covered almost half the space at the bottom of his stomach. Of course, the heavier objects had caught some lighter ones as they descended, so it wasn't just coins and gold exclusively. shkshhkhsk GGRlooooouuughlghlhl bhuuoooaarp Some coins shot out of his beak in that burst of gas and fell back into the chest. He had to make room to finish it all, because he wasn't going to leave without finishing everything, absolutely everything. The rustic wooden bottom of the treasure chest was coming into view. Pete already felt quite full, but the end was there, just a few steps away. He continued catching the elusive coins that were slipping through his beak at this point, since there were hardly any left. His once round belly looked heavier and more bulging than before, with a more pronounced pear shape. From his middle down, several irregular shapes were visible that didn't move—the ingots. The mass of coins kept them in place. Pete, having finished with the treasure, turned around to examine his belly. It definitely felt heavy, and as he walked on the sand, he sank a little deeper under his paws. The movement made the metallic mass inside him jingle. He felt full, fuller than he had ever imagined, and strangely satisfied. He tapped his belly with A fist, just to exert dominance over what he had just consumed, a sharp blow right in the center, it felt hard to the touch, it seemed the coins had compacted at the bottom bhrooooaaaaarph It was over and the humans hadn't returned (yet), so Pete decided to head back to his side of the beach. He struggled to take steps without feeling like he was losing his balance; his center of gravity had already shifted outward, but now it was more noticeable. He had to lean back more to counteract it. The lower part of his belly bounced more with each step, threatening to drag along the sandy ground—perhaps it did a few times. He decided not to go too far and stayed at the spot where he'd been spying on the humans earlier. He wanted to see their reactions when they arrived and also rest a bit; all that physical exertion had left him breathless. --- And that reaction was not long in coming; the group returned as dusk was beginning to fall, but one of them—noticing that things were not as they had left them—ran off in the direction of the chest, and Pete couldn't understand what they were saying, but they sounded angry, shouting at the sky in an unintelligible language; one even threw himself to the ground. Pete couldn't hide his joy until BUUUAAAARRPPPHH...glp He could see several of them turn in his direction, but luckily he managed to camouflage himself among the trash quickly enough so they didn't realize the source of the noise was an extremely bloated seagull. that was close. --- After they stopped watching in his direction, he diligently resumed his journey. The return to the nest in his favorite spot on the beach was a slow walk. Night fell along the way, but Pete wasn't in any hurry. He just wanted to enjoy the weight of his belly full of objects and the sound it made as he walked. shhhkk...grroooshhkk...shhkk The nest—made of even more trash, obviously—lay before him at last. His legs already felt tired and aching from the weight and the walk. He simply lay on his back, letting his enormous belly rest upon it. He could feel the movement inside him, never ceasing for a second. Some of the coins had already begun their journey from his stomach, through his duodenum and into his intestines—where there was a high probability of blockages—but no blockage would stop Pete or his digestive system. Eventually, even the ingot would find its way out. --- The sun was beginning to peek over the horizon, its light illuminating the waters of the beach and making them sparkle like gold... —and speaking of gold—, Pete remained lying on his back in his nest, completely oblivious to the slow awakening of nature. His chest and swollen abdomen rose and fell serenely while movement continued inside him. Deep gurgles could be heard, while in the distance, some humans swept the tourist side of the beach, unable to venture into the jungle that was Pete's home. No one even considered approaching him. Inside that dome, the enormous quantity of precious metal and jewelry he had ingested the previous day had almost entirely migrated to his intestines, and his stomach had returned to its relatively normal size as the swelling subsided. Even so, in the bright morning sunlight, between its stretched, feathered surface, one can observe the indistinguishable shape of the bar, diligently traversing a particularly pronounced curve in its inner folds, stretching everything in its path. Its bulge is perfectly visible from the outside, and it is not the only one. Further down there is another bar—which is actually the first to have passed—that has a head start in the long, fleshy tunnel. grooouurplhshshhsks If you get close enough, you can clearly hear this system in action. All the individual coins collide as they are pushed against their will by peristalsis. It's a constant sound that filters outwards: the scraping of metal against metal, and areas where the volume is so great that they can't move forward until more pressure comes from behind, especially behind the bars, which are the most voluminous elements. The skin stretches until it becomes translucent. If you observe long enough, you can even see the individual impulses and watch the volume of precious, gleaming metal moving inside, each current following its own path in that seemingly endless labyrinth. Not even gas can pass through the intestines of the overcrowded, literally filled to the brim, not just in volume, but in mass. Let's let him sleep soundly and peacefully; we don't want to disturb that arduous digestion. grrOOAARGHlghllshkhksk
