Gadget the Wolf had landed on his back; his Wispon landing directly next to him. Floating downwards before him was Infinite the Jackal; the Phantom Ruby prototype lodged within his chest gave off a menacing glow. With a glare on his face, Gadget struggled to get himself back onto his feet. The red wolf looked left and then right, until he spotted his Wispon; of which he picked back up. With himself back onto his feet, he pointed his Wispon at the jackal.

“Ahahaha”, the jackal cackled, as he landed on his feet. “You still plan to fight me in the state you’re currently in?” The canine suddenly disappeared and then immediately reappeared closer to the other canine. Gadget freaked out and immediately jumped back; his Wispon still pointed at the jackal. “Why even bother to fight me? Can’t you hear that you and that Resistance of yours have failed? Listen to their cries.”

While the red wolf tried to keep his confidence up, it was evident to Infinite that his confidence was slowly fading. Gadget could hear the screams and cries of the Resistance falling apart within Robotnik’s Capitol City. Just hearing those screams turned his glare into a look of sadness; his Wispon was slowly lowering along with his arms.

“CAN ANYONE HEAR US”, one of the Resistance members shouted. “WE’VE LOST ALL OF OUR PLATOONS!”

“Oh no”, Amy chimed in. “We’ve lost one hundred percent of our armies.”

“I’m sorry, everyone; Big Wave was a big failure”, Knuckles said. “Rookie; are you doing ok? Where are you?”

Whether he heard the echidna calling out to him, Gadget just shook his head in disbelief, as his arms were trembling. Seemingly regaining his confidence, the red wolf was back to aiming his Asteroid Wispon at the jackal. Without any more hesitation, Gadget let out a yell, as he fired shots at Infinite. The jackal, however, wasn’t fazed at all, as he made use of the Phantom Ruby prototype. Distorting reality, he not only stopped the wolf’s weapon fire, but it also appeared that time had stopped. Within that time frame, the jackal got himself within the wolf’s space yet again.

With distortion around the wolf having stopped, Gadget was slow to react to the jackal. As such, his guard was down for Infinite to attack him. Mimicking what he’d done to Sonic months ago, Infinite sent a kick to Gadget; sending the wolf flying back into the skyscraper wall. As the wolf came close to falling onto his stomach onto the ground, Infinite appeared close to the canine again, and flip kicked him upwards into the air. Now aiming his right open palm at the wolf, the jackal gave the wolf a few shots of his own. Gadget grunted out in pain from the shots hitting his chest, as he was falling back to the ground.

However, Infinite wasn’t done messing around with the wolf. The jackal teleported himself above the wolf, and with his hands balled together, he slammed them down upon Gadget’s back. The wolf was sent downwards and crashed upon the ground; creating a large crater atop the building he and Infinite were on. And speaking of the jackal; he instantaneously appeared in front of the downed canine.

“Don’t you see now; our difference in power”, Infinite gloated. “I don’t know why I’m even talking to a dead body.” There was an immediate groan that had come from the wolf, and his body was twitching. Infinite was surprised by that, as he honestly thought he’d killed the canine. He watched as the wolf slowly reached his hand out to his Wispon. With his hand placed upon the handle, Gadget clutched the weapon, as he tried to pull it to him. However, Infinite stopped him by placing a foot atop the wolf’s wrist.

“Well, well; I’m quite impressed by your resilience”, Infinite complimented the wolf, as he gave a slow clap. With a glare, Gadget was slowly raising his head; showing off his fangs to the jackal before him. With his free hand, he tried his best to get Infinite’s foot off of his wrist, but he just didn’t have the strength within him. “Unlike those WEAK Resistance fools, you’re actually quite strong. I like that.”

The Jackal’s ears twitched at the sudden sound of static; it was coming off from Gadget. Checking the wolf’s head, he found the source of the static; a commlink . The static it was emitting was from the damage given to it, from Infinite’s assault on the wolf, but it still seemed to be in working condition. As such, a voice could be heard coming from it, but the damage done to the commlink made it sound like it was breaking up.

“R-rookie; are you st-still there?” Despite the damage done to the commlink, it was quite clear the voice being heard was from Knuckles. “An-answer me. If y-you’re alright, s-say something.”

“Heh!” It couldn’t be seen, but behind that mask of his, the jackal was smirking. Taking the commlink into his palm, Infinite crushed it within his hand; cutting off all communication with the leader of the Resistance. “There’s only room for one strong being in the world, and that’s me.”

“Grrrr!” Gadget growled as he stared up at the jackal. He was still trying to get Infinite’s foot off of his wrist, so he would be able to use his Wispon again, but he was still feeling weak. He watched as Infinite got down onto his knees, and saw him bring his hand forward to him. Feeling his chin being cuffed, Gadget’s face was yanked to look directly at Infinite’s, as the jackal proceeded to remove his mask.

“Look into the face of true fear.”

Removing his mask, Infinite showed his face to the wolf; the two staring directly into one another’s eyes. At that same time, the jackal had activated the Phantom Ruby prototype; distorting reality around Gadget again. Only this time, it had an added effect. Going wide eyed, the wolf’s eyes had started to swirl, as if he had fallen under a hypnotic spell. Suddenly, a surge of strength had entered the wolf’s body, and Gadget was immediately back on his feet. But instead of immediately attacking the jackal, Gadget appeared to be walking around in all directions in confusion, like he was hallucinating. Not surprising, considering he was suffering the effects of the Phantom Ruby prototype. Infinite couldn’t help, but chuckle at the wolf’s distressed state, and he felt even more than that.

“What’s this I’m feeling”, the jackal questioned himself. Looking down at himself, Infinite could see an erection starting to form from his being. The jackal wasn’t at all bothered by that; instead he held a devious smirk. “Ah, this is arousal I’m feeling.” He then focused his attention back onto the confused wolf, and licked around his lips. “And I know just who to use to quell it.”

Due to the state he was currently in, Gadget didn’t notice two smaller versions of those Perfect Chaos-like Infinite monsters by his side. They grabbed and held a firm grip on the wolf’s wrists; stopping Gadget in place. The wolf was struggling to free himself from those monsters’ grip, while Infinite confidently walked himself over to the other canine. Upon getting within Gadget’s reach, the jackal yanked the wolf’s face forward to make eye contact with him again.

With a large evil grin, Infinite’s eyes were giving off hypnotic swirls; all thanks to the prototype jewel in his chest. While the wolf’s eyes were already swirling, they were intensified just by looking into the black canine’s eyes. Gadget’s struggling was slowing down, as he’d further succumbed to the effects of the Phantom Ruby prototype; falling completely into a hypnotic state. At that point, the red wolf was no longer struggling.

At the Resistance Base

Back at the Resistance Base, everybody within was in a panic. Not only have they lost a member, but it appeared that any previous successes they had in the war against Robotnik was dwindling. Everyone was starting to lose morale because of it.

“HEY”, Sonic immediately shouted. “This is no time for us all to lose our spirits here.” The hedgehog had gotten everyone’s attention; they all looked towards Sonic, as he gave a speech. “We may have suffered some losses, but I know we can all pull through this again. And eventually we’ll stop that Eggman and save our fellow teammate in the process.”

Everyone within the base had their spirits raised. Even Sonic’s younger self looked ready to get back out there in the action. Mission control had gotten themselves back to doing what they do best, while everybody else was readying themselves for another mission. With a smile on his face, Knuckles decided to take center stage, and speak out as well.

“You heard the man”, he started. “Let’s continue to do what we can to stop this war, and save the world. And if any of you happen to spot Gadget; change tactics to a rescue mission. That’s an order. NOW, LET’S GET BACK OUT THERE!”

Everybody within base raised their fists into the air, as they all cheered. With their morale having been raised, everybody was back to face another day against Robotnik’s forces.

“Ahahaha”, Robotnik cackled in glee. “It would seem those Resistance fools have lost their morale. Every area they had taken back from me, is falling under my control again.” The mad doctor suddenly raised his fist into the air, and started to shout. “FINALLY! THINGS ARE GOING MY WAY. I’VE WON AND YOU’VE LOST, SONIC! AHAHAHA!”

Standing right behind the doctor further away were Infinite, and Robotnik’s two robot lackeys, Orbot and Cubot. While the two robots were clapping happily - or in Orbot’s case, sarcastically - for Robotnik, the jackal just stood content with his arms crossed. Once Robotnik was finished with his evil laughing, he turned to face the others; mainly Infinite.

“By the way, Infinite; what exactly did you do with that Resistance member you defeated?” Seemingly, it appeared that the jackal was about to answer the human’s question. But before he could - if he wanted to, that is - he was quickly stopped. “You know what, don’t answer that; I really don’t care”, Robotnik said. “All I care about now is how close I am to completely conquering the world. AHAHAHA!”

Just as Robotnik went back into another laughing fit, Infinite took that as his time to leave. The jackal walked off in the direction of his private quarters; of which he entered and immediately locked the door behind him. As he walked over to his bed, the canine removed his mask. Looking over to his right, he spotted a picture of Shadow the Hedgehog that had daggers stabbed into it. The jackal aimed his palm at it, fired a blast at it. With a smirk now on his maw, Infinite got himself onto his bed. And waiting on his bed for him was Gadget; acting like a dog, as he was still hypnotized. As such, he had a collar with a leash around his neck.

“I need to be relieved of some stress”, Infinite said. Upon sitting himself back, the jackal spread his legs open; his dick standing erect. He grabbed the back of the wolf’s head, and brought him down close to his hardened member. “Now be a good dog, and lick!”

With the order given, Gadget happily licked along the base. Infinite was snickering, as he watched the wolf at work.
