Part 1: Veronica
#1 of From the Ashes
This is my first attempt at submitting one of my stories. So, bare with me any mistakes I might have made. Questions, comments, and reviews welcome.
Furry. 'Tis a term that most of us use to describe a being covered in soft hair. To many of us, it is a word that brings a feeling of warm comfort. However, some people feel that it is a nasty, vulgar term when applied to desire. But, for Jared Hanson, it was a natural part of life. He was always attracted to anthropomorphs. At first, he was scarred of it, thinking it was unnatural and wrong. However, he came to accept it as part of him. It was no longer the stigma he feared, but his secret fantasy forever out of his reach.
Currently, Jared was trudging in the woods, having no one left in his life. Using his logic that his furrydom was a natural thing, he revealed it in casual conversation to one of his closest family members, his cousin, Steve. However, Steve was a very conservative man, as was his entire family. Jared came from a very devout Christian family that thought his feelings went against God. So, they disowned him, thinking him blasphemous for being a Furry.
Jared was not a very social person; he worked, shopped, and basically lived on the Internet. He had a very fruitful business on the Internet in web design, and he lived in his parent's basement, where he worked from his laptop. Ergo, Jared really had no friends, except his online e-pals, whom he had met on a Furry site and knew how he felt. So, after his family had cast him out, he was utterly alone, not even able to talk to his online family.
He cried as he walked to the woods. He had cried a lot for an 18 year old, such as when his online girlfriend dumped him. Jared was very open about his feelings, not caring who knew them. He was the short, chubby kid that everyone picked on. But, he had found solace on the Internet, a place where no one cared about his looks or status.
But now, even his online family was taken from him. He walked through the woods, a few miles away from the outskirts of the town.
He had lived in a small town, never moving out because he liked the fresh air and natural solace it offered, and his job let him stay there. Jared had always liked the woods, it was where no one picked on him, no one could make him feel down. The world was his, he was King, the only human on the planet. The woods always made him feel better. Now, he found himself with the woods as his only home, his only friend.
He traipsed his familiar thinking paths, crying as he went, his feet only moving through memory and a strong desire to get away from the family who had told him that they'd always love him, then betrayed him when he showed a moment of weakness. He hated them now, and wanted to get as far away as possible. He cursed The Maker, whatever it was, for making the Earth spherical. No matter how far he walked, he would only end up back at where he started.
He plopped down next to a familiar creek, his Thinking Creek. He was tired from the walk, and steadily cried himself to sleep.
Jared had no idea how long had passed between when he closed his eyes and was awakened by a faint crackling noise. He checked to make sure that no hairs on his neck were standing up before he got up, thinking that a storm might have brewed and was now raging, no sense in being struck by lightning, even if he was depressed so much. He noted the lack of rain and thunder, and concluded that it wasn't a storm. However, he'd never heard anything like it. He set off to explore this strange phenomenon.
He didn't have to walk long before the buzzing got louder and he began to feel a faint electric charge cause the hairs on his arms and neck to rise. He saw a faint blue flickering against the bark of the trees. He hid behind one, not wanting to be seen. He faintly peeked around the side of the tree, a technique he discovered while watching deer in the woods. He often wanted to see them, but they would run at the sight of him. He peeked from his hiding spot, and almost gave himself away.
Standing right in front of a blue vortex was the most beautiful creature he'd ever seen. It was a tall woman, but it wasn't a woman, it was a cat. He yanked his head back, hitting his head on a piece of bark, sending stars whirling around his head. He knew that he had not just seen what he thought he did. He guessed dehydration as the cause. After all, he hadn't drank anything all night and morning. He looked back, and almost repeated the experience. He wanted to look away again, scared of his own mind. However, a piece of his mind told him that if it was a hallucination, he wanted to remember every bit of it.
He looked at her up and down. She was only wearing a skin-tight shirt that covered her groin as well. It was almost identical to a one-piece swimsuit. She had supple breasts, a slender body, and long legs. Her glimmering blue-gray fur was only a few centimeters long and gave her a sleek, streamlined appearance. He couldn't see her face, but could imagine. Her ears for some reason were pressed back against her head, giving her a more sleek appearance. He eyed her up and down, and then realized he was getting excited. He thought he heard a small sob, and then heard her speak. She was talking to something on her wrist, something that looked like a cross between a watch and a bracelet. She also had an assortment of other simiar gadgets on her arm.
"Personal Log. This is my final entry. I have traveled to some remote planet, my scanners are damaged beyond repair, and I can't seem to summon enough mana to repower them. I have yet to come into contact with any sentient life, although I cannot be sure if there are any due to my scanners. However, this planet I am sure can support life. If you are listening to this message, it means that I have failed. However, know that this planet is untouched by the Aeroken. I do believe that this sector goes unnoticed by them. If there are more of you out there, you will be able to restart our life here. Although it will never be Areis, it will serve until we can retake our planet from the evils of the Areoken. Alas, I will not be there for it. I am going to terminate my mission and myself. I know that I am disobeying my oath by ending my search, but I cannot be alone anymore. This mental torment is too much to ask of a simple Plannethopper. Forgive me, my Queen. Veronica, codename Plannethopper 704-9-Beta out. End transmission."
Jared watched from his hiding place. He heard the word "terminate". What does that mean? Then he heard "myself". She's going to kill herself! He thought. He had no idea why she was going to, but nothing could be bad enough to end one's life. Everyone Jared knew abandoned him, and yet he still had the will to go on. Besides, he couldn't let this beautiful creature of his dreams merely destroy herself in front of him. He stepped from his hiding place and began to approach...Veronica he thought he heard her say her name. He cautiously approached, and said, "Uhh, hi." He stammered over his words, still not sure if the entire event was real.
Veronica was in the middle of preparation, which consisted nothing more than typing in a few commands into her hi-tech arm bracelet. "Radium magna pulse, charge." Veronica looked up upon hearing the "Uhh, hi." Coming from the human. Seeing the hairless biped coming closer, she got up, abandoning her preparations.
Jared stepped out of his hiding place, and saw her face for the first time. She was indeed beautiful, but her face was glistening with tears and her eyes were bloodshot. Nobody deserves the type of torment she must be feeling, thought Jared.
Jared and Veronica looked each other in the eye, each one calculating, trying to determine the other's motive. They cautiously approached one another. God, she is beautiful, but she'd probably never want me, no one does. Thoughts about her raced through Jared's head. They took slow, wary steps toward one another. Jared then lifted his hand from his side and held it out, both to show that he had no weapon and as an offer of peace. Confused, the alien did slowly likewise. Jared slowly took her paw in his hand and shook. Her smooth fur felt really good on his bare skin. He looked her in the eye, "Friends?" She collapsed in his arms.
Jared had a little difficulty maintaining a standing position and avoiding falling over, but he managed to overcome both the shock and the added weight. His first instinct was to back away, but he shook it off, for the fact that the girl of his dreams was in his arms was too appealing. He grew a little bold, and ran his hand down the back of her head in a gentle petting motion, "It's okay." Jared didn't know if this was true or not, but he had to say something.
She lifted her head from his chest, and Jared saw that she was only a few inches shorter than he was, but she was about a head smaller than him now that she was leaning on him. She pulled him tight and kissed him deeply. White-hot ecstasy flared through Jared's spine as he felt her tongue roll over his. He was surprised at first and pulled back a little, but once he got his head straight, he pushed into it and kissed back. He covered every inch of her mouth with his tongue, and noted that her tongue wasn't at all the sandpaper he felt whenever a cat licked him, but it was rather smooth, if a tiny bit bumpy. She tasted good. They locked together in their tender embraced for what felt like an eternity.
They separated, and Jared stepped back until he hit a tree, then sank to a sitting position. He looked up at Veronica, who had a look of hurt upon her face, obviously thinking that Jared hadn't liked what she'd done. She looked away and said faintly, "I'm sorry." Jared merely laughed and beckoned for her to sit down next to him. Veronica needed no other invitation. She sat down next to him, and venturing a casual lean on Jared's shoulder, she saw that he didn't resist, and ended up almost laying on him, her head on his shoulder.
Jared liked her soft, warm body laying on him. He wished he could be covered in fur. He didn't want to question this twist of fate, but he had to know more about her. "So, Veronica is it?" He felt the faintest little nod against his shoulder. "How did you come to be here?"
It took the better part of the day for the pair to tell their story. She explained that there were worlds other than his. And they were extremely similar. The cycle of evolution on other planets were remarkably like the cycle on Earth. However, evolution favored a different species on each planet. Just as evolution favored apes on Earth, evolution favored cats on Veronica's planet, and so on and so on. As each society grew, they took to the stars. They met each other, and over the course of 1000 years, a Confederation of Planets was formed. Each species would share technology and culture. Each species melded together, everyone accepted everyone for who they were. There was no prejudice or hate, a Utopia. They were a peaceful people, until the Swarm hit.
The Aerokens were the first to come. Their job was to mark planets for the Swarm. Then they invaded. The Swarm was an alliance of the planets whose cycle favored insects and the like. Locusts, Flies, Mosquitoes, etc. came by the millions, sucking planets dry and moving onto the next. The peaceful Confederation was caught unawares. As the people of Aereis realized their fate, they formed a last-ditch effort to save their people.
The people of Aereis were packed into SleeperTubes, tubes designed to keep them alive as they sleep for long periods of time. The tubes were jettisoned into different parts of space, so that even if one was discovered, the rest would go on sleeping.
Only five people remained behind. The five Planethoppers were assigned to find a new planet on which to rebuild on. Five were found. However, none of the Hoppers had the mana-data crystal where the locations of the Sleeper Tubes were located. An old saying that when the student was ready, the teacher would appear kept the Hoppers going. Their faith was that when their people were ready to awaken, they would find the crystal.
Veronica was the one that found it, and she sent an Aether Message pulse to the others. They gathered on the planet to view the crystal, however, the Swarm had also picked up her pulse. They ambushed the Hoppers, who fled the planet. Only Veronica escaped with her life. Luckily, she had the crystal. However, to open the Tubes, two sets of Hopper DNA were needed. This was added as a last minute security measure so even if one of the Hoppers were captured, they couldn't be forced open the Tubes alone. T
This was five years ago. So, now, Veronica had no one left, and she couldn't awaken her people. She had wandered the galaxy using the Hopper Portals like the one she came here through. She came here after punching in random coordinated hoping she'd end up in some void in space, but when she saw that this was a habitable planet, she figured if her people somehow found her body, they would have a new planet. Five years of solitude had taken its toll on her, and she wanted to end it.
Jared's eyes had become watery with tears; he could sympathize with how she felt, even if he couldn't imagine being alone that long. At least his family had acknowledged his presence. He placed his arm around her and told her that she didn't have to be alone anymore, if she would have him. He felt her cheeks press against his shoulder, and could tell she was smiling. "Yes." She whispered. Jared's dream was coming true.
He noticed the sky getting dark and noticed for the first time he was cold. "I wish I'd have thought to bring a lighter. I think a fire could be of use right now." Veronica, still laying on him, got up. Clicking at the miniature buttons on her bracelet for a second, she held her arm out at the center of the small clearing. "Sherak!" she barked, as a bolt of green lightning arced from her hand or her bracelet, Jared couldn't tell which. However, as soon as it hit the ground, a small fire sprang up.
Veronica then started to peel off her bracelet and Jared guessed some other either jewelry or gadgetry. She also unwound her tail from her waist; Jared was surprised he didn't notice something as long as her entire body curled around her waist. The thing that surprised Jared the most, however, was the fact that Veronica stripped off her leotard, claiming it constricted her fur and made her stuffy. She left it on the ground as she stretched out her arms and legs, her bare breasts transfixing Jared's eyes.
She walked over to Jared; so close that his face was almost at her waist. She pivoted around and sat down between his legs, effectively turning him into a human chair. Jared felt her grind on his hips, tantalizing his erection through his jeans. Jared places his hands around her, hugging her tight. Veronica's hands moved behind her, unzipping his pants. She freed his cock from his pants as she lifted her hips. Jared couldn't help but moan softly as Veronica sat down on his stiff member. She glided it inside slowly, each wet fur tantalizing him, each hair sending a shock of electricity coarsing through Jared's nervous system.
Once she was finished sitting down, he pulled her back so they were neck-in-neck. He kissed her neck and inhaled her scent. She smelled wonderful. Veronica must have sensed his pleasure as she whispered in his ear, "I haven't even started." Veronica started rocking her hips, feeling Jared deep inside her. She leaned forward until she was on all fours. Jared needed no further clue. He got up on his knees and places his hands on her side. He took a few experimental thrusts as he got situated, then went at it in earnest.
Veronica wrapped her long tail around Jared's waist, pulling him closer, deeper, and making him even more lustful. Veronica then stopped, and turned. She put her leg up and over Jared's head so they were face to face. She pushed Jared back to a sitting position and straddled him. She then moved her hips up and down rapidly, all the while moaning as she began to feel orgasm well up. The steady deep thrusts were more than she could bear.
Veronica felt Jared get hotter and hotter as his cock began to swell. She couldn't help but moan, as she knew what was coming. She leaned over and kissed him passionately as she almost screamed while five years of pent up passion was released in one blinding orgasm. She clamped down on Jared, and she knew that she had sent him over the edge as she felt him fill her up. Warm pleasure jetted into her belly as both came. Both lovers were spent, as they collapsed into each other's arms. They slept for the remainder of the night and well into the next morning.
To be continued...
